About Trail Cabin 2:
Our home is located in the Golf Home section of the Ranch on Glacier Lily, a quiet street off Hawksbeard, one of the main roadways through the Ranch. Our location creates central and easy access to everything Black Butte Ranch has to offer while still having a peaceful and private cabin to return to when you are ready to relax and wish to retreat to your own space.

We are fortunate to have one of the larger and more private lots available to the smaller homes on the ranch complete with a sizable 600+ square foot natural cedar deck that is home to a large gas BBQ and professionally maintained PRIVATE hot tub. From the expansive deck, you can see out over a large wooded area in which to view the magnificent trees and wildlife aplenty and at night, there is no better venue for star-gazing than taking a front row seat in the hot tub. What looks like thousands of stars in the city, looks like millions at the Ranch- beautiful and amazing! Just as perfect is sitting in the hot tub surrounded by snow and watching the flakes fall and disappear into the hot tub with you- almost magical and certainly an experience to be remembered.

It is not unusual to see deer wandering around the cabin and on occasion, they will come right up on the deck if you appear friendly to them. Although we wouldn't necessarily recommend it, we have had guests even report hand-feeding the deer!

If you are looking for the feel of a real mountain cabin experience in Black Butte Ranch style, TC2 just might be your place. We have worked hard over the years to make Trail Cabin 2 a home that maintains a rustic 'cabiny' feel while still offering a touch of class with quality amenities and the cozy comforts of home. When we come to the Ranch to escape everyday life, we want to feel a little pampered and it is our goal that our guests will feel a little pampered as well!

Inside you will find 3 bedrooms, two having queen beds, and a loft bedroom with two twin beds sleeping six quite comfortably. All beds have new, coordinated bedding and plenty of extra pillows and blankets. There is one bathroom that has been completely remodeled and stocked with new, fluffy towels. The dining area is home to a large, custom-crafted, glass top table that easily seats six and is perfect for family meals and playing games, but you may prefer to grab a stool at the bar to enjoy your morning coffee or share a chat with the cook. The kitchen is well- stocked with a variety of cookware, dishes, gadgets and small appliances to choose from for your culinary needs. Of course, the ever-so-necessary dishwasher and microwave are there as well! In the living area, you will find two big, comfy full-sized couches allowing plenty of room for everyone to sit back and relax, watch TV or just enjoy the company with the ambiance of a crackling fire- wood and starting supplies included. Everything described sets in a well laid-out 840 square feet of mountain cabin comfort.

If clean is important to you, you may appreciate knowing that we have proudly been dubbed by our housekeeper as his pickiest client due to the excellence we expect of both him and ourselves. Perhaps more importantly is that we are his only home that regularly changes out all our bedding and blankets right down to and including the mattress pads.

We take clean very seriously and do all of our own deep cleaning because it is the only way to make sure our level of clean is obtained. We own our own professional grade steam cleaner and clean our carpets as many as 6 times per year and our fabric furniture at least 3. Yes, every throw pillow in the house gets steam cleaned or thrown in the wash as well and every pillow along with both queen mattresses have allergy and bed bug resistant encasements and we remove and wash those, too! Summer can be rough because we are so busy, but even then, we sneak in, change out the bedding and clean carpets whenever possible. We aren't perfect and things can happen especially when access is limited, but one thing is for sure, nobody puts the effort into making sure their home is clean any better than we do and most don't even come close according to our housekeeper. We will take that as a compliment!

We have spent years transforming this place to what it is now and still constantly change things up- adding this and changing that. You will find very little that has not been updated in this cabin and will likely find changes of some type at every visit- sometimes big and other times small. Most recently, we added all new stainless steel appliances, new Milgard windows and a new stainless steel gas bbq. TC2 has served as a creative outlet for us in many ways with Robb being a skilled craftsman and I the type that was doing the HGTV thing long before HGTV existed. We love to share this place with others who enjoy having more than the run-of-the-mill hotel type atmosphere. Again and again we hear that TC2 feels like a real home for which we are so grateful. This is exactly the level of hospitality we wish to give each and every guest on each and every visit. We are here for you!

We have raised our children coming here and have all sorts of memories to last a lifetime. In a life that is riddled with life-type 'stuff', what a blessing it has been to be able to escape to this place through the years and re-connect with friends and family. We look forward to our children bringing theirs one day. Our vision is to create long-term relationships with our guests and have TC2 be the place where you will want to bring your future generations again and again. The multi-million dollar Glaze Meadow Recreation Center houses a spacious sports shop supplying plenty of Ranch memorabilia along side the standard sport shop finds, but that is just the beginning- you will also find both an indoor pool and an outdoor pool with a children’s water park, a steam sauna, hot tub, fitness room, coffee bar, wifi and all sorts of seasonal equipment rentals. There is a children’s play area and numerous sports courts along with horseshoe pits in the area as well. If you are looking for activity, Glaze Meadow Recreation Center is definitely for you.

For the adventurous, you will not be disappointed. Head into the quaint Western-themed town of Sisters, just eight miles away, and there you will find a tourist hotspot with lots of fun shops and restaurants- big enough to keep you interested and small enough you can cover the sights by foot.

In the surrounding area you can find a nature lovers’ oasis with hiking, fishing, site-seeing, and skiing to name a few all within walking distance or mere minutes of driving time. Without a doubt, there is more to do in this area than most could ever find the time (or energy) for!

We also have a seasonal, small country store near the horse stables where you can pick up quick necessities when the need should arise. Our cabin, Golf Home 173, is perfect for family fun year around. The great room encompasses living, dining and kitchen so everyone is included. In the warm weather, open the side-by-side glass doors and the large deck becomes part of the living area.

The main floor has two king bedrooms (one with a small bath attached) and a queen bedroom that also includes a triple bunk. Great for a "kids-only" room, or a family. A 2nd bath with laundry is also located on the main floor.

A curved staircase leads to an upper loft with two twin beds and a DVD screen. Please note, no egress window in the loft.

The living area includes a TV with cable, a wood burning fireplace, and wifi.

The quiet cul de sac and tall pines make deck time very scenic and enjoyable. Grill up your favorite summer meals while watching the kids ride their bikes around the circle. Deer pass through almost daily.

Paulina springs pool and tennis courts are a moderate walk away. The Glaze Meadow complex and Lakeside pool and bistro are minutes away by bike or car. You will love our centrally located cabin.

***Things to know before you book***

The cabin does not have air conditioning. A comfortable temperature can be maintained inside the cabin during normal summer conditions.

As part of our check-out list, we ask that our guests start laundry, dishwasher, and deposit their trash at the transfer station when leaving Black Butte Ranch. The transfer station is free, accommodates recycling, and is conveniently located along the exit route from Black Butte Ranch.

Black Butte Ranch charges an access fee currently equal to 12% of your total rent (nightly rate x number of nights x 12%). The rate will increase to 13.5% beginning with 2026 rentals. This fee is not included in the price of your rental. As of 2024 the property owner collects this fee and remits on the guest's behalf. This eliminates the former policy where the Welcome Center collected the fee upon the guest's arrival. We will contact you with options for payment. The rest of the registration sequence at the Welcome Center remains the same. Black Butte Ranch has always charged an access fee. The only change is the method for collecting the fee.

The primary renter (you) must be one of the occupants. Please do not book the cabin on behalf of other family members, friends, etc. if you are not part of the occupancy. Please ask a person from the party occupying the cabin (age 25 or older) to book the rental. They can request that you be copied on all correspondence.

The loft has a steep staircase and no egress (see photos).

By booking the cabin you are acknowledging that you have read and agree to the terms of our rental agreement. The agreement is available in part 2 of the booking process.

Motorcycles are not allowed at Black Butte Ranch.

We were sorry about the forest fire smoke but the house was just right." - "This was our second time staying at this property; it works great for our family. - "The fireplace was great for relaxing in the evening. There is a squirrel/bird feeder in the back and we observed various gray squirrels and a mountain cottontail by it. We were there March 3-5 and there was still considerable snow. So no deer to be seen. The hot tub at Glaze Meadow was nice to sit in after cross country skiing, but the steam room was even better! " - "For our Christmas weekend stay, we were looking for a cozy place in a beautiful setting (woods and lots of snow) and we found it ! Our cabin has been totally remodeled including the kitchen, great room, master bedroom, and both baths. The great room has slate floors, the kitchen features Alder cabinetry with slab granite countertops and all LG stainless steel appliances, the baths have pebble or stone decorative countertops and insets in either the slate flooring or enlarged master shower surround and copper vessel sinks, new carpeting, new paint, new light fixtures, new linens, and more!!! Nestled in a grove of Aspens on the 15th fairway of the Big Meadow golf course with a peekaboo view of Black Butte from the wraparound deck, this charming cabin is perfect for families. Our cabin is ideally located at the end of a private drive off a secluded cul-de-sac in the heart of Black Butte Ranch just a short walk or bike ride to everything.

The interior has been tastefully designed with each room having its own unique theme. The loft master bedroom has a wrought-iron king-size bed with Ralph Lauren linens, a flat screen TV, sitting area and its own private slate bath. The great room features a Sisters Rodeo western styling with a lava rock fireplace, soaring raftered ceiling, floor-to-ceiling windows looking out to Black Butte and the 15th Fairway, a 50" flat screen TV, leather sectional with built-in recliners at both ends, and two stylish cowhide chairs with leather ottomans. The two main floor bedrooms are nicknamed the 'Gone Fishin'' and 'Quilt' rooms with twin beds in one room and a full-size wrought iron bed with a twin bed trundle in the other (all the board games and jigsaw puzzles are in the closet or chest of drawers). There is a full bath downstairs. Just outside the main cabin entry door (external to the cabin but sharing a wall with the Gone Fishin" bedroom) is the Bunkroom/sleeping room that we have totally remodeled (new everything!) and are calling The Hideaway featuring an upscale, updated decor with all-white linens accented by a decorative Pendleton blanket and your own Pendleton towels, a Queen-size adjustable bed with massage action, and a flat screen TV--a great retreat room!

Our family has been coming to Black Butte since the very beginning as my husband's uncle was the President of the company that developed BBR. Our lot was hand-picked by him for his father (our children's great-grandfather) and has always stayed in the family. If you are looking for a truly-charming cabin experience then this is it! We have lovingly updated the interior over time with quality furnishings and accessories while retaining the original charm and character of the cabin. You will feel comfy in our cabin and will never want to leave. Over the years we have rented to individual families, two families, golfing buddies, ladies getaways, wedding parties, family reunion-ers, birthday and anniversary celebrations, and you name it!

We have been bringing our three children here since before they were born and they love it! As young children they especially loved the Kids Camp at BBR and Friday Movie Night at the Barn (which was great for us adults too). Over the years, they have climbed Smith Rock, mountain biked, rode the horses on trail rides from the stables, white water-rafted, learned how to fly fish, skied HooDoo and Mt. Bachelor, won the July 4th lip-sinc contest, and one of our sons even won the Mutton Busting championship at the Deshutes County Fair (a greenhorn no less). They advanced to scouting out the other teens on the ranch but now that they are mature young adults hard at work for Seattle hi-tech companies, they look for any excuse to break away and head to the ranch. Our daughter always manages to buy-out the shops in downtown Sisters and has advanced her shopping skills to Bend.

Over the years my husband and I have discovered all the great restaurants (foodies that we are!) and our absolute favorites in Sisters are Rancho Viejo (Mexican) and Chops Bistro (fine dining) and Ariana, 5 Fusion (sushi), and Zydeco in Bend. My favorite spot in the world is at The Lodge pool on a lounge chair looking out over the lake, across the meadow with romping horses and ranging cattle, through the tree line to the looming Three Sisters, Brokentop and Mt. Washington mountains. The Glaze Meadows Pool was recently remodeled with an indoor pool, spa and shop and the Lodge Pool was totally rebuilt in 2015 and includes a restaurant, pool, and amazing clubhouse. There is a place.....and it is our cabin at Black Butte Ranch.

At first, the property is difficult to find because it's tucked away on a cul-de-sac, but once we found it, we loved the location - quiet and on the golf course. We had just 5 of us staying, and that was a good amount with the 2 bathrooms. Accommodation: This ADORABLE 3 bedroom/2 Bath house sits on a quiet cul-de-sac location with a very private view of the meadow, no car traffic and very safe for families. The South meadow pool is within walking distance. Our 960 square foot home accommodates 6 people. The main floor has 2 bedrooms, a queen bed with a flat screen TV and an additional room with two twin beds. The main floor bathroom has a tub/shower combination, with a new sink and counter with a full size washer and dryer unit.

The 2nd floor features a master suite with a king bed, designer bedding, vented skylight, flat screen TV, full private bathroom with shower and a new counter and sink. It is a loft bedroom and has one small wall open to the downstairs with a sliding barn door to close off for privacy (please note still open from the staircase). There is a skylight to open at night to cool the house
as well as fans for every room if needed.This home does not have air conditioning.

The ground floor presents an open floor plan between kitchen/dining room which is great for family conversation and new laminate wood flooring. A fire can be enjoyed in the large, stone fireplace. In all there are 3 larger flat screen TV's, 1 smaller one in upstairs bedroom, cable, free WiFi, books, high chair, portable crib, games, forced air heating, new washer and dryer, and upscale furnishings. Recently purchased 4 adult size bikes for rent (due to weather conditions and snow, bikes are available for spring thaw and summer only, not in winter).

The kitchen has all new appliances with all amenities a chef would need to put together a wonderful meal. All serving dishes, pots and pans, cutlery, spices, and many extra touches. Enjoy the warm evenings on a large deck facing the open meadow and majestic Ponderosa pines behind the cabin. There is a large table with umbrella to seat 6, gas fire pit, additional outdoor furniture, lounge chairs with another umbrella, and a gas barbecue. Ridge cabin 25 offers a peaceful nature filled experience to enjoy a book on the deck while listening to the wind in the pines. Please note: Starting sometime in October (depending on rain and snow) the deck furniture is placed in storage due to snow fall.

If you are not a cook there are many fine dining options including the beautiful Black Butte Lodge with stunning views or the upstairs Aspen Lounge with happy hour specials, poolside bar and restaurant, gift shops, Robert's Pub overlooking the Big Meadow Golf course as well as pizza to go.

Ridge Cabin 25 is within a small walk to Aspen Lake, about 300 yards to South Meadow pool and tennis courts and a short bike ride to Glaze Meadow Recreation Center. Less than a 5 minute drive to either golf course.

This is my second Ridge Cabin I have owned and would take many walks through the ranch. When I reached the meadow I would notice Ridge Cabin 25 and how private and peaceful its location was compared to the other Ridge Cabins. When it came up for sale I leapt at the chance to purchase this wonderful home and started an immediate remodel. It truly is the best Ridge Cabin in the Ranch and love to share it with my guests. My goal is to have families return again and again and I take great joy with those that return to my home. The best compliments are repeat guests.

BLACK BUTTE RANCH
Black Butte Ranch Board made the decision to add a 12% resort fee, sorry but I needed to add this to my rates. Traffic free Black Butte Ranch is a destination resort located in central Oregon, less than 10 miles from the town of Sisters which hosts the famous Sisters Outdoor Quilt show, Rodeo, Jazz and Folk Festival. It has many antique shops, bakeries, restaurants, delis, groceries, pubs, a pharmacy, movie theater and much much more. For the more adventurous souls Bend Oregon is only 30 miles away for whitewater rafting, fishing.

Black Butte Ranch has many recreational activities to offer all seasons of the year. Fair weather activities within the resort offer two 18 hole championship golf courses, 5 outdoor swimming pools with 1 indoor pool, toddler pool, large outside hot tub, playground, full service spa, steam room, sports shop, and recreation/fitness center open year 'round with wireless internet. The summer features a snack/espresso shop, lighted tennis courts, disc golf, sand volleyball court, 18 miles of well maintained bike paths, horseback riding and nearby lakes with excellent fishing & boating. The recreation center has a wonderful list of resources to help with planning your outdoor activity as well as children's day camps. They have equipment rentals including kayaks, stand up paddle boards, canoes, fly fishing equipment for catch and release, rental bikes including the fun surrey bikes, ping pong, air hockey, video games, bocce ball, and horseshoes to mention just a few. Check the Black Butte Ranch web site for summer concerts on the lawn. Seasonal photographic opportunities abound with beautiful vistas at every turn as you walk the miles of hiking trails.

Please check out the Black Butte website for golf tee times as well as Sisters Chamber of Commerce for local events and Hoodoo Ski Area for downhill skiing. Mt. Bachelor Ski Resort and snowmobile parks are a easy drive away. Enjoy cross country ski/snow shoe on our bike trails in the winter.

Black Butte Ranch has its own full time Police/Security, EMT's and Fire Department. Come visit the fire department on the days they open the station up to the kids and become an honorary fireman. Everything to keep you safe.

If short term lease agreement not received 60 days before arrival owner has the right to cancel reservation minus $50.00 processing fee.

Cancellation Policy:

Rentals canceled 61+ days from arrival: Full refund minus a $50 processing fee.
Rentals canceled 45-60 days from arrival: 50% refund of entire reservation if paid in full. If only a deposit received will forfeit deposit.
Rentals canceled less than 45 days from arrival will forfeit 100% of rental contract. Damage fee will be returned in full if paid. (However if other renters are found and paid in full we will issue a refund for the days that we were able to rebooked and the damage fee returned if no stay. A $50.00 processing fee will apply).
Early Departures and No Shows: No Refunds
Snow and Winter Storms: It does snow at the Ranch and over highway passes. There will not be a refund on a no show for weather. Chains can be required in winter.

Early arrivals or late departures are subject to a $25 per 1/2 hour fine unless prior arrangements have been made with the owners.

The unit is privately owned. The homeowners are NOT responsible for ANY accidents, injuries, or illnesses that occur to the renter(s), or any guests or visitors of the renter(s), while in the unit, on the premises, or while using any community facilities. By accepting this reservation, it is agreed that all guests are expressly assuming the risk of any harm arising from their use of the premises or of any harm to others whom they invite to use the premises.

- "We had a wonderful stay at Black Butte. The view of the mountain and meadow was spectacular for our morning coffees and evening beverages. We had easy access to bike paths and we’re close enough to both main pools to ride our bikes there. There were no surprises in how the lodging looked. The loft bedroom upstairs was perfect for the kids and both sets of parents had a comfortable private room. The bathrooms were small but true to what was advertised in the images. There were some areas that clearly hadn’t been dusted for a while but the beds, towels and main area were clean. Great for a dog friendly home."

- "We brought our two dogs over 4th of July week to avoid the crazy fireworks at home. We had a fabulous time with them (And my parents!). If you walk up Hawks Beard a bit to the right and cross the street, it's national forest land and perfect for a completely isolated beautiful dog walk. The house and deck were wonderful! Comfy mattresses, and fully equipped kitchen. The only suggestion I have is to buy a new knife set, or sharpen the existing knifes. Thank you Will and Emily!"
