Haystack Heights is just a quick walk from the iconic Cape Kiwanda beach, and several restaurants! Enjoy everything from a high end dinner to a quick burger or coffee and pastries, and great beers on the patio or wine tasting! We have a full kitchen, washer/dryer, queen bed downstairs and a pull-out couch upstairs. OR use the Wifi and TV for those rainy days! There is a bonfire in the backyard to enjoy, along with seating and a string of lights for those dark evenings. (Quiet time starts at 10:00 please!)
There is only room for ONE car, to be parked in front of the garage door.

The "Chillton" cabin is one of the original Tierra del Mar beach cabins that has been lovingly restored and is now a comfortable, stylish and fun beach house. Outside there's a fun surfer shower, and a large back yard.

Notes:

This home is pet friendly for one or two dogs. Please let us know if you will be bringing a pet so that we can add the non-refundable pet fee of $10/night . Only well-behaved dogs are allowed. Pets are not allowed on the furniture, or left in the house unattended.

Occupancy rules are strictly enforced and apply to the entire property during the stay. Additional day-use guests may be allowed with management pre-approval. After your booking is confirmed, you will be sent the full rental contract and terms.

The safety of our staff, guests and local community is our top priority. This home is professionally managed and cleaned to strict standards in line with CDC guidelines, including supervised housekeeping and post-clean sanitation.

Cancellation policy: 1/2 the total cost of the booking is subject to forfeiture if reservation is canceled or changed within 30 days of arrival. 100% of rental rate is charged if cancelled (or no-show) within 7 days of arrival. If the house is fully rebooked by another renter, cancellation charges (less $35) will be refunded. Reservation cancellation fee is $35. (If you book with a 3rd party, different charges may apply).

Neighborhood:

The village of Tierra Del Mar is a small community of traditional beach homes 3 miles north of Pacific City along the Three Capes Scenic Route. There are several quiet lanes lined with both historic cabins and larger beach homes that all lead to direct beach access. All homes in Tierra Del Mar are a quick, easy walk to the beach. The beach here is quiet and long—beachcombers can walk for hours down this lengthy stretch that is relatively undiscovered. It is a good spot for beachcombers who often find agates and Japanese glass floats. Sandlake Dunes recreation area is 4 miles to the north.

This delightful, cozy cabin with HOT TUB is the perfect getaway for 2. With spectacular views of the Big Nestucca River and the top of Haystack Rock, staying here can feel like stepping into a painting. The proximity to the river (with private dock) offers an opportunity to experience the magic of a tidal river that is teeming with life. This picturesque cabin is a throwback to a bygone era and is our family's special spot.

The space
The River House was built in 1928 and was the first home built on the Nestucca river in Pacific City. Its original charm and character invite our guests into a simpler time where the days are marked by the tides, good food and long beach walks. With views of Haystack Rock, being a part of the migratory bird pathway and having dock access to the river, we think it is the most charming spot around. We are a short walk to everything in town including the grocery, beach, bakery, bars and several restaurants. Outside you have the private dock, a large yard with fire pit, and heaps of deck space with a hot tub. Inside the home you can cozy up with a book, cook a delicious meal, enjoy the river view from bed or watch the winter storms. There is a small office area with desk upstairs. The fireplace inside the home is NOT for rental use due to liability reasons.

*Bring your own stand up paddle board, kayak, or fishing gear to take full advantage of this river front setting.

Other things to note
Our home has quite a few stairs. There are 15 stairs outside to the front door and 12 steep stairs inside the home to get to the bedroom. This home is best for those that are able-bodied.

We do not allow children.

We do not allow smoking anywhere on the property at any time.

We ask that guest remove their shoes while in the house.

The space
Open Kitchen and living areas downstairs. Plenty of seating. Bath and laundry downstairs. Three bedrooms upstairs. Large master with big windows looking out at "The Rock". Middle Bedroom queen bed and twin. Third Bedroom Bunker style with 2 queens and a twin. All good mattresses and linens. Deck wraps around 1/2 of house. Large front yard for parking, corn hole, badminton, etc. This is on a dead end gravel street. Walking to the beach takes 1 minute. It is very unique and charming home.

This house is located next to two neighbors that live there year round. The outside (hot tub) has a STRICT 10:00 PM no noise. If this will be a problem for your group, please book another place.

Note only 1 bathroom. Bathroom downstairs, bedrooms upstairs. Note that the steps are steep and older/younger folks may find this challenging. Does have a handrail.

High above Pacific City on historic Hill Street stands Storm Watch Lodge. With a west view of the Pacific Ocean, Pacific City, and Cape Kiwanda. The open concept living/dining/kitchen area is perfect for up to 4 adults. There are two bedrooms, one with a king bed, the other a double bed. The living room has a sofa sleeper. The original timbers, natural wood walls and original flooring creates the environment to just breathe. We respect our neighbors and follow the Airbnb no parties policy.

The space
The Storm Watch Lodge has been meticulously designed for relaxation. From the swivel chairs in the living room you may get lost in the view. Bald eagles fly through the trees and land (almost) daily on a tree snag in the Nestucca river. Bring your binoculars. You may also be greeted by several beautiful deer that call Hill Street home.

Other things to note
Parking is tight due to the driveway being the dead end. Please park in the space next to the Lodge on the left and allow the gravel area to the right for the neighbor cottage. A parking map is in the guest notebook. Two medium size vehicles will fit however large truck and a medium car will be very tight. This drive way does not have room for trailers to turn around. there are other options for guest to park for example a boat and trailer off site. If this is an option contact host directly.
