Gorgeous Pacific Northwest Private Lodge in Southeast Eugene
Cabin
Eugene, Oregon, USA

This beautiful lodge is located in the SE Eugene hills, just minutes from fantastic shopping, dining, nightlife and recreation. At the bottom of the hill are connections to the extensive and high quality hiking and biking trails, including routes to the river, forested hills, Spencer Butte, Etc.

One bus (#28) will get you to the University of Oregon, downtown and back. Our property is close to large natural areas, so deer and wild turkeys will often roam the 'hood.

WelcomeThis is a custom designed dwelling that has benefited from significant additions and upgrades over the years. Clad in cedar shakes, and filled with natural light, this is a unique and beautiful little house. In a very safe and quiet neighborhood.

1. FRONT PORCH / DRIVEWAY
You will have full use of a long driveway which could accommodate several vehicles (in a line) or easily harbor an RV, trailer, or other large vehicle. The lodge is located at the end of the driveway, attached to our garage/storage space. The front porch is a wooden deck and there is a bench next to the front door. You will receive a four digit door code to get into the lodge and access to our self locking door. No need to worry when you leave, it’ll lock 30 seconds later.

2. THE KITCHEN
The front door opens into the kitchen, which has clay Saltillo tiles underfoot and a high rough cut cedar ceiling overhead, and a big skylight that brightens the entire room. Philodendron Vines wrap around the bannister and hang from the walls. Granite countertops, lots of cupboards and all the accessories in this full kitchen allow you to cook to your heart's content. A house manual is available on the kitchen counter will all lodge details, information, passwords, etc. also included in the manual is recommendations and information about the art around the lodge and a bit about your hosts and the surrounding area. A 'ship's ladder' takes you up to the loft bedroom, which overhangs the kitchen. Best to go up and down the ships ladder as you would an outdoor ladder. Forward facing the whole time. We do have handles available to help you up the stairs and back down. Fun feature for teenagers and the young at heart. Also, note the kitchen cupboard closest to the front door fully stocked with customized snacks for your stay.

3. THE OWL'S NEST BEDROOM
Since the main bedroom is accessed by a ship's ladder, this room would be difficult to accommodate anyone with mobility issues.
But for those that don't mind a steep staircase the loft bedroom is an absolute delight! A south facing window and skylight offer views of the forested ridgelines that surround our place, which you can see while laying in the queen sized built in bed. A full built-in closet and cozy 'book nook' for reading or relaxing make this upper deck bedroom a one-of-a-kind. We call it the Owl's Nest, and it sleeps two very comfortably. It is a surprisingly spacious room (if you are short enough to walk under the exposed ridge beam and rafters 6'6" overhead). The upstairs also has a large T.V. at the foot of the bed, with an old school video game console, a dvd player with a variety of movies and in the summer a full air conditioning unit. Books, coloring books, coloring accessories and other relaxing activities fill the bookshelf.

4. THE BATHROOM
Elegant and simple with a stocked shower and beautiful green glass sink. A fresh towel, hand towel and washcloth awaits you. The bathroom is stocked with tissues, soap and shampoo and conditioner. A First Aid Kit and extra toiletries are located in the shelves and cabinets below the sink, please help yourself to what you need.

5. THE LIVING ROOM
Take two steps down from the kitchen hall to reach the living room. This is a shared common space with sleeping for 2 on a comfortable futon mattress, and an adult sized beanbag chair. Up above the workspace area I have fully stocked with fresh sheets and blankets in case the futon space is used. This is also the game room, fully stocked with many classic and contemporary board games, a TV signed into Netflix for guests. A desk for working is available as well as markers and crayons for children entertainment. Sunny bay windows look west, out to your own personal side yard, and glass French doors open east to a covered back patio.

8. BEARS DEN BEDROOM:
From the back patio you can access the bears den bedroom.Dive into custom dyed sheets to sleep in the forest with you bear friends. There is a queen sized bed and bedding in this room to accommodate another 2 guests or for those not able to travel up and down the ships ladder, this is the room for you. If you need to unwind, stretch, or workout, the room is set up with a yoga mat and a foam roller and a bo staff. We also have a changing table that doubles as a storage/ clothing space, large mirrors and plenty of pillows. Free standing heater and a fan keep this room comfortable. This space is just outside of the living room door, but detached from the house. It is a couple steps away from one room to the other and a key for the bears den is provided inside of the lodge on the key hook by the front door. The bonus room locks from the inside.

6. THE BACK PATIO / ZEN GARDEN
The back patio is a indoor/outdoor space that provides a comfortable covered seating and eating area, and blends into a custom Pacific Northwest style Zen garden, which is filled with interesting plants and artwork. It is a wonderful place to spend some time outside relaxing, listening to the chirping of birds in the morning or watching the stars and moon at night. Electronics can be plugged in. We do live in a quiet peaceful neighborhood and ask load noise be moved indoors by 10 pm on the weekdays and midnight on the weekends. The garden hosts a collection of rare and unusual ferns and shade plants growing out of the stonework and from big wooden barrels. Round river rock and a colorful gravel path takes you around the corner to your personal side yard.

7. SIDE YARD
The fenced side yard can be easily accessed either from the front yard or from the back patio. It gets great afternoon light and can be used for lawn games, sunbathing, kicking the soccer ball around, etc.

We want our lodge to celebrate the spirit of the Pacific Northwest bioregion, so we have lots of maps, books, and artwork from Cascadia all over the place. We want this lodge to serve as the launching point to your adventures in the area, are we genuinely hope you enjoy your stay!

☯ Private Roundhouse … Enchanting! (Not in a Box!)
Cabin
Eugene, Oregon, USA

☯ If you've never slept in the round before, you owe yourself! We all want to "think outside the box," but how about sleeping outside the box? — well, inside, but not in a box! Windows above & all around, 59,206 pennies beneath. ★ ☸ ★ Magic!

We love to design spaces that are not in a box. We want to give our guests an experience that is meaningful and memorable.

*****************
"Enchanting, magical, uplifting" -- those are words used recently by our guests, describing this wonderful space. Twelve sides, windows all around, surrounded by nature, yet close to town.
*****************

Picture a cabin made of cedar and glass. It has wi-fi, electric heat, a comfortable queen-sized bed, a chair for reading, a fold-out desk, and a table with a coffee pot. All the bare essentials, in one place.

It's situated to be rustic and inspirational, nestled into the back corner of a deep lot. There are fruit trees all around and a seasonal pond that attracts ducks in the spring and early summer. Depending on the season, you can listen to birds and frogs from inside the roundhouse, or cross the footbridge to the south-facing deck behind the workshop -- another private space for your "get away from the bustle" contemplations. Or enjoy the firepit.

Follow the wending path to the front fence and everything is nearby.

The bathroom is at the rear of the main house, right near the back door (about 30 yards from the roundhouse). It's private and only barely shared. (We have another bath-and-a-half elsewhere in the house.) We have a clever curtaining system that can give you extra privacy if you want it. You'll be left as alone as you choose to be during your visit.

With a little bit of planning, we're happy to share our full kitchen with you during daylight hours. Same with the laundry room.

We're sharing our home with you, so we ask you to be respectful of that. We love to brag about Eugene and Oregon, and we're happy to share what we have and what we know.

=====
P.S. For those using this service to find long-term rental options, we're not the least expensive alternative, but we've had several visitors stay for several weeks or a few months. Our rates already reflect long-term discounts of 25% or more, as calculated by the site.

Guest Reviews:

- "My fiancé and I came down to explore Eugene. Our host recommended great dog parks and restaurants to try. The back yard is dreamy and was a relaxing stay for us." - "Fun, outdoor living. Great room and easy access through the yard to an outdoor kitchen and bathroom. The roundhouse is fully equipped. We happened to be there when it was really hot and it was challenging to keep the roundhouse cool, so we spent our time exploring Eugene and played in the river to keep cool until the evening. Cute, unique place to stay."

Guest Reviews:

- "We had a perfect stay at this quaint cabin in the woods. The host was so kind and responsive for any question I might have had. Although the location is peaceful and seems remote, it was a quick drive in to Eugene. You do need to be able to climb the spiral staircase up to the sleeping loft but will feel like you’ve woken up all the beauty of nature!" - "The cabin is super clean and cozy. The property owners are great people and communication with them is a breeze. Amazing."

- "We had the best time enjoying all the Eugene had to offer during our stay. It was the perfect combination of modern and old world accommodation put together. The beautiful sunshine came through the windows located in the bedroom loft early in the morning as we brewed coffee in the French press. I loved hearing the goats and the turkeys as we got ready for the day. The host was gracious, kind and was available for anything we needed. Thank you for letting us stay in your peaceful sanctuary."

Rustic Bohemian A-Frame Cabin 5 min drive to lake
Cabin
Southern Oregon

Welcome to A Wood Haus !! A Moody and romantic A-frame.
We created this space using lots of vintage decor and a hint of bohemian style.
We hope that you enjoy every part of your stay; from making coffee by drip in the morning, or by relaxing in the hot tub surrounded by open views of trees and wildlife.
You will feel like you are far from of the hustle and bustle of the city, yet you are less than 15 minutes away from downtown Cottage Grove and 35 minutes away from downtown Eugene.

@awoodhaus

The space
Please read through the following information to make sure A wood Haus is the right cabin for you. Our A-frame is a 2 bedroom house for a max of 4 guests. The large deck off the main level has a hot tub overlooking all the pine trees surrounding the property.

Important info:
While our house sits on a 4.5 acre secluded lot, we live right next door to the main A-frame in another small home. You can see how close we live in some of our pictures. It's the green house. You can see the green house from the back deck but we have covered all the windows facing the A-frame with shutters on the outside so we both have privacy.
We will try to be as invisible as possible and give you complete privacy as we want our own privacy as well. However, you may see us driving in and out of the property occasionally. If you were absolute seclusion, this is not the right place for you.
Our house is remote and surrounded by tall trees so unfortunately we typically do not have good cell service but we do have very fast fiber internet with WiFi!!
The tall trees also create a darker moody atmosphere. There are moments of magic when the sunlight shines perfectly between the trees to light up the house but those moments are rare. If you require constant sunlight, this cabin is probably not for you.

Bedrooms
We have 2 bedrooms.
One is upstairs with a queen size bed, a walk in closet and a half bathroom.
The other bedroom is downstairs with a queen bed and near the kitchen. Please note that it doesn’t have a traditional door but rather a curtain for a divider. Right to next to the bedroom is a full bathroom accessible without entering the bedroom.
We use tuft and needle mattresses and parachute linen bedding. Both bedrooms have scented diffusers and an air purifier.

Kitchen
Our kitchen space is a little on the small side. Please keep this in mind when planning for meals. We have basic cooking equipment including pots, pans, blender, olive oil, avocado oil, salt, pepper, and many other spices all provided for your use.
Unfortunately we do not have an air duct for cooking so you will need to open the window when cooking for ventilation.
We have a pour over chemex and a moccamaster drip coffee machine.
We provide Stumptown coffee beans and we also provide some varieties of tea.
Our fridge is not that big and please note that the freezer capacity is 0.92 cu. ft.
We do not have an ice maker but we do have an ice tray in the freezer.
We have a well with a purifier so you can drink from the tap but if you prefer we do also provide a brita filtered pitcher.

Living room
We have an indoor hanging chair. Please use it one person at a time.
We have a smart TV with most of the streaming apps available for you to login using your own account.
For extra heat and ambiance in the living room space we have a pellet stove. We will provide pellets and let us know if you need assistance to start it.
The large windows in the living room do not currently have any blinds or curtains. This is to provide the best view of the outdoors as possible and we hope you enjoy the view. If the woods are too eerie at night please feel free to keep the string lights above the deck on at all times. We have scented candles available if you desire as well as a air purifiers.

Bathrooms
We have a full bathroom on the first floor and a half bathroom upstairs.
Our water heater is limited so max 20 minutes of hot water (depending on how hot you like it) while you take a shower and it takes 20-30minutes to fill up. Both bathrooms have scented stick diffusers.

Outdoors
On the back deck there is a gas BBQ and a picnic table. There is a large tree growing in the center of the deck that drops sap in the area around it. The sap dries white and can look like bird excrement. We apologize for any annoyance from the sap but we love that tree too much to cut it down.

Guest access
You will have access to the entire house and the 4.5 acres of property. There is a mini waterfall on the property if you explore but it can be muddy and it’s just a game trail so please be careful.
But please note that as we mentioned before we live next door so please do not enter the small green house or the well pump house.
Respect our neighbors property and do not trespass.

No professional photo shoots or events of any kind allowed on the property without prior approval.

Other things to note
It is required to share this information with all people in the reservation.
*A Wood Haus is our family cabin that we stay at when there are no bookings. We really put a lot of time and a lot of love into it so please be respectful of the space and our belongings. It is greatly appreciated.
The person booking is responsible for any damages during the stay.
* No extra guests, no visitors. The host is expecting the number of people listed on your reservation. Guests may not bring any visitors to the cabin or property, for any length of time. Only those individuals who are registered guests may enter the cabin and property.
* A maximum of 4 people in the cabin

Our house is not fragrance free. We use scented diffusers that we feel match our cabin vibes. Our laundry detergent and cleaning products also have a mild fragrance as well. If you are sensitive or allergic to scents, please do not book this cabin.

- Our cabin was built in the 1980’s and it retains that original charm (with remodeled aspects), but note that there are areas that aren't hotel style crisp! There are some creaky floors and the walls are a bit thin. It's a small relaxed space that you will enjoy if you love rustic cabins and being in nature.
- We always try to make our cabin as spotless as we can but please understand that a spider web can be made within 30 minutes and you might find some webs as we do live in the woods and bugs are inevitable. For longer stays it is likely that dust will start to accumulate. We do have basic cleaning supplies in the cabin if they are needed.
- If you cannot stand bugs this place is definitely not for you.

Because of the nature of the area, farm related noise is a possibility. This could include, tractor work, animal noises, or even discharging of firearms.
At night sometimes we do hear bats in our roof eaves and squirrels running around our roof ,we do provide sound proof ear plugs right next to the bed if needed.
It’s usually a quiet house but you might hear the sound of a car passing by the house.
We work early in the morning so you might hear sounds of our car as early as 4am.
If you are very sensitive with noise this place is not for you.

Due to the remote and forested location of our home, power outages may occur a couple times a year. They are typically short, but we do have a generator that we could set up for you and will keep the essential utilities functioning. Some amenities, like the hot tub, may not be working . Since cellular service is spotty at the cabin if the power goes out you may not have WiFi to make calls.

* We have a strict no pet policy due to family allergies, thank you for understanding.
* No hunting of any kind
* No smoking, vaping or e-cigarettes. Our cabin is a smoke free environment. Should you choose to smoke outside, we request that you do so away from the cabin and clean up after yourself.
* *The cabin has a very sensitive septic system!
* Do not flush anything other than toilet paper in the toilet. No food scraps, cooking oils or coffee grounds down kitchen sink.
*
* Respect wildlife in the area. Bears, cougars, deer and eagles have been spotted at the cabin. Do not leave any food outside during your stay.
* In summer/dry months outdoor recreational fire are not allowed.
* We recommend AWD when accessing the property in snowy or icy conditions.

Thank you for reading all the way down here.
If this sounds like the place for you we would be thrilled to host you.
