This historic cottage is less than a quarter mile to the beach and just a few blocks to the center of the quaint community of Pacific City. The house sits on a ridge allowing for views of the ocean, Cape Kiwanda and Haystack Rock. It is a perfect house for a family getaway or a romantic couples escape.

The space
This beach cottage has two levels. The top floor has a kitchen and living room (with fireplace) in front and a bathroom and large sleeping room with a king bed in back. The living area opens up to a front porch and the back bedroom opens up to a large side deck. Outside stairs take you to the lower level which has two distinct sleeping areas and a 1/2 bathroom. The lower level opens to a private deck with serene views of the woods and an outdoor shower. The lower bedroom has a new king bed. The other sleeping area has a cozy double bed nook.

The space
Originally built in the 1950’s as a Dorymans cabin, this completely revamped 625 sf home boasts interesting charm and character with vintage accents, wood stove, barn doors, a unique vibe and quirky charm including some slant in the floors & low ceilings.

Outdoor garden seating area with custom privacy fence, patio heater, fire ring, BBQ, tiki torches and ambient lighting after dark. Firewood, roasting sticks, pet supplies, yard games and beach extras. The outdoor space is rugged with garden whimsy but cozy. Container gardens blending with nature surround the two outdoor seating areas. Pet supplies onsite are dog toys, blankets and towels, tie out stake and cable, bowls, leash and poo bags.

Inside find a fully equipped, well-stocked kitchen with full appliances, including spices and cooking basics, a variety of teas, coffees, popcorn and more. A full-size oven and refrigerator, Keurig, French Press & drip coffee makers and an 8 in 1 micro/airfryer.

The cozy living room provides a full-size couch and loveseat, HD TV, numerous streaming services, huge DVD library and a woodstove to warm up after a brisk day of fresh ocean breezes. Surround sound with Bluetooth to stream your favorite music.

The bathroom is spacious with a large shower (no tub) and comes stocked with a full selection of toiletries, hair dryer, iron, steamer and guest extras.

“Up” the hallway are the two bedrooms, both with custom barn doors, room darkening shades, USB ports, luggage rack and small storage areas. Both beds are full/queen and have green tea infused memory foam toppers over firm mattresses with plenty of clean cozy bedding to snuggle. The rooms are 10’x10’ and each have a personal fan and windows that open.

Special Note: I welcome pets. Any pet staying at the cabin is expected to pay the pet fee. The Coho Cottage is luxurious yet surprisingly spacious. You'll love the high end finishes and thoughtful accommodations. The 2 bed (1 queen and 1 full), 2 bath home sleeps 4. Almost every square inch is accounted for. This amazing location is just a 5 minute walk to the beach the locals call the "turn around". Convenient public boat launch is just a 3 minute walk which is great for kayaks and SUPs. The Pelican Pub is about a 15 minute walk. You cannot beat this location!

This compact cottage has been meticulously decorated with a retro feel. The cottage provides a quiet place to sit back, relax and enjoy Pacific City with friends, family, and those with four legs. The main house has two bedrooms with double beds. The Compass Rose room is detached and featuring a king-sized bed and a half bath. The main bathroom has been completely renovated. The view is sunset ready. We respect our neighbors and community and follow the Airbnb no party policy.

Situated on a dead-end, the Compass Rose provides a space for respite and enjoyment. The home was built in the 1930s and attention has been made to honor the era of the home with original lighting fixtures, etc.

Parking is tight due to the driveway being the dead end. Pleas park near the cottage and allow the gravel area to the west of the cottage for backing out and leaving. Two medium size vehicles will fit however large truck and a medium car will be very tight. This drive way does not have room for trailers to turn around. there are other options for guest to park a boat and trailer (for example) off site, contact host directly.
