- "These cottages are centrally located within easy walking to the beach and to shops and restaurants. Didn’t need to drive at all once we arrived. The cottages are small, but cozy. They gave our 3 groups traveling together privacy when needed. Would recommend!" - "Beautiful location, cozy, nice courtyard for group gatherings. 3 min walk from the beach, 10 min walk from shops. Cottages are comfortable, well stocked with linens and cooking supplies (pots, pans, serving sets). Bed sheets and blankets were clean and comfortable. Cottage interiors were very clean, not even sand on the floor. Access was easy, parking easy. Cons: Internet did not work entire stay. Contacted customer support via multiple means, and after many messages the best I got was that a ticket was opened. The issue was clear: when a person connected to the wifi their browser redirected to an internet service provider sign in page. Whomever manages this location had was signed out of the internet service provider. A seemingly simple fix, but by the morning of the third day it was still not working. I had intended to do work during my stay but instead had to go to a local coffee shop to use WiFi. Although the interior was very clean, the exterior had not been well cleaned. Cobwebs were on the key lock boxes, trash was in the grass, and a large dog poop was dried in the grass. In several places the finish of cabinets or wall panels was degraded and peeling. The pillows and mattress were low quality. Only 1 cottage had a functional gas fireplace, the other two had electric fireplaces installed in front of the fireplace. "

This cozy cottage is located in the Chapman Point area on the north end of Cannon Beach. It is about a 5 minute walk to the beach & about a 15 minute walk to downtown Cannon Beach where you will find plenty of outstanding restaurants & shopping. There is a fire pit in the backyard (wood provided).

We provide coffee & tea as well as powdered cream, sugar, salt & pepper. We have simple things like aluminum foil and plastic baggies available. There are umbrellas, a first aid kit and flameless candles on hand (in case of a power outage).

Close to the beach. Our cottage is a quick two-block walk down Van Buren to a beautiful beach -- just a few steps down from the street to the sand. We're also located just 5 minutes south to midtown Cannon Beach restaurants and coffee shops -- or less than 10 minutes down Spruce Street to downtown Cannon Beach shopping, galleries and more.

The space
Van Buren is a two-story, two-bedroom, two-bathroom cottage. There are two bedrooms -- each with a queen-sized bed -- on the second floor, and a bathroom with a shower on both levels. There is a comfy queen-sized airbed that provides additional sleeping space. The airbed easily inflates with an internal pump and will fit either downstairs in the living room or upstairs in the large west bedroom.
In addition to the indoor spiral staircase, we have added an exterior stairway that is convenient for loading and unloading luggage. The outdoor stairs are lighted at night.

Guest access
Guests must provide the auto license numbers of all vehicles that will be parked on the premises. No more than two vehicles are permitted at this rental unit. The City of Cannon Beach requires the following information from all guests staying in short-term residential vacation rentals:

-- Telephone numbers to reach guests.
Please note that the cottage is to be used by NO ONE other than registered guests. That includes the cottage itself (no parties!) and the deck and hot tub. People not registered as guests are not permitted in the hot tub or on the deck. We respect the quiet neighborhood and do not want to disturb those residents who live here year round.
Guests are asked to remove their shoes when indoors. If guests have been on the beach, they are asked to use the outdoor shower on the east side of the cottage by the back stairs to remove all sand from clothing, feet, etc. And as mentioned, no shoes indoors.

Other things to note
The outdoor barbecue is ready and waiting for al fresco dining on the deck. If you need another cannister of propane, there is an extra one in the shed out back. Just call Chuck or Kelly to replace the empty one for you.

The Cottage has on-demand hot water heated by natural gas. It might take a minute or two to warm up -- especially upstairs -- but once it is running, you will have unlimited hot water for all of your needs.

The hot tub is drained and decommissioned during the winter months (November through February). When the hot tub is operational, we request an additional fee of $50 from guests if they wish to use the hot tub.

Taxes! The 1.5% State of Oregon lodging tax is included as part of Airbnb charges you pay with your initial reservation. Hosts are required to collect an additional 9.5% lodging tax for City of Cannon Beach and 1% lodging tax for Clatsop County. These are requested through the Airbnb Resolution Center. Codes to the cottage will be sent to guests when the taxes are submitted to the Airbnb Resolution Center.
