The owners Suzi and Marcus live on the property behind the house and we’re very welcoming. They checked in with us to make sure we had everything we needed and gave some local tips. They had great hospitality! They surprised us with some breakfast items to get our trip going. The bed was comfy, had the cleanest outdoor grill at any rental property we’ve ever rented from, and the house had a couple box fans to keep us cool at night. We spent most of our time on the outdoor patio relaxing or exploring the island. We could also access the harbor with our paddle boards from the owner’s property. We had so much fun seeing the wildlife from the water. If you come with children the house has toys, games and children movies."

Because we open up our property for short periods during the year, please note that during the December/January holidays we have a 14-night minimum & we offer a month-stay discount. Please message us if you want to discuss. We will not be taking any short-stay bookings during the holiday season.

The ground floor is an open floor plan offering a full kitchen, living room lounge area, dining area, a laundry room, and access to multiple outdoor spaces. The spacious second floor with vaulted wood ceilings offers a king bed, a full-size leather sofa for lounging, an office area, and a full bathroom.

Our lovingly maintained cottage is located on a wooded acre adjacent to our home. You will see trees and greenery from every window. Parking is available directly adjacent to the cottage with easy access to the front door - just 2 steps up. On the back of the cottage is a large outdoor deck. Guests of our cottage will enjoy the feeling of being in the woods with all the urban conveniences of Bainbridge just minutes away. If you are not feeling up for driving to trails, there are trail heads just a few minutes away on foot from the property. Otherwise, great hiking trails are as close as a 5 minute drive. Bloedel Reserve, which is one of the furthest attractions on the island, is about a 20 minute drive. Winslow, the main town area and ferry terminal, is a 10-15 minute drive. Lynwood center is a 4-minute drive and boasts a great range of offerings: casual dining, cafes, a bakery/shop, cocktail bar, and even a movie theater!

The cottage can be booked at the base rate for 1 or 2 adult guests. To book additional adult guests, there is a per-person charge with a maximum of three (3) adults. Please let us know if you are traveling with children. We allow dogs - there is a single fee, please make sure to book with the dog noted.

This is our home that we open up to guests a few weeks/months of the year - so the interior fittings are nice quality. We take pride in our home and we believe you will love it too.

The lifejackets, paddles, three (SUP) Stand Up Paddle boards are on the rack at the circular driveway.
There is a double, sit on top kayak and two doubles on the beach, these have Shangri-La clearly marked on them. There are also two rather high-end sit inside kayaks (these require some skill to be safe in) on the rack beside the cottage.

The space
Location, location, location! This is one of the best spots on the island to enjoy marine traffic, marine life, wildlife and views of Mt. Rainier and the Bremerton ferries crossing. Never a dull moment. The well-equipped but charming cottage does not disappoint. Everything is made available to you, kitchen pantry, robes, bikes, kayaks, and a very comfortable living room with views that don't quit.

Guest access
You will have access to the cottage, kayaks, bikes (adult) and BBQ grill. Only area off limits is a small locked pantry that houses our supplies.
