The space
Sehome Cottage is all new, but when we set out to build the cottage, along with our main house and studio, we were attentive to the architecture of the surrounding Historic Sehome Hill Neighborhood. All three buildings are situated around a common courtyard garden. The garden supports variety of native flowers, grasses and trees, and since deer and rabbits roam the neighborhood, you might encounter few visitors.

Inside the Cottage, you’ll find a comfortable, open-plan home with up-to-date amenities. The full kitchen is outfitted with all the basics to cook full meals or to serve take-out. With smart TV and high-speed Wi-Fi, you can connect with work or relax to your choice of entertainment. Open the large sliding doors to the outside and take in the sounds of birds and swaying trees. But just in case the weather turns hot, central AC keeps the house cool. Step towards the back of the cottage, and the bedroom occupies a quiet corner with room-darkening shades and a comfortable queen. The bathroom is roomy and efficient, with a large walk-in shower and plenty of storage.

A dedicated parking spot lies along one side of the Cottage, a few steps away from the private entrance, and an automatic light illuminates your path after dark

Our cottage is a short walk to the ferry so you’re welcome to park on the mainland and walk across, but it inhibits your ability to drive on for your stay. ***This charming, historic, and beautifully appointed beachfront house features two bedrooms (one room with an attached bath has a Queen bed and another room with a single bed) and sleeps three. The cottage is stocked with everything you will need for an easy getaway. Enjoy the large deck overlooking the breathtaking views of Mt. Baker and the Sisters, watch the ferry, the Whatcom Chief, sail back and forth, take a soak in the deep tub, read by the fireplace, put your kayak in the water, and adventure, or go for a bike ride or hike. You will find yourself within walking distance of the local Beach Store Cafe (just across the street but please check the website to see hours of operation as they are limited), and the local grocery store. Conveniently located only a five-minute walk to the ferry and on the picturesque 7-mile loop which is great for walking and bike riding. Despite the proximity to Vancouver BC and Seattle, Lummi Island feels like it is a 'world away'. The Beach House was built in 1933 and has a long history on Lummi Island, and at one time served as the local library. With a complete Sunset Magazine-worthy remodel couldn't be sweeter.

Beachfront Cottage on Chuckanut Bay

Chuckanut Bay Cottage is just steps from the beach and a close trip down scenic Chuckanut Drive to historic Fairhaven in beautiful Bellingham, Washington. Perfect for a couple needing a romantic getaway, or the outdoor enthusiast who wants water for their kayaking or SUPing out the front door or miles of trails for biking and hiking out the backdoor.

This beachfront cottage is situated on a bluff 40ft above the pristine waters of the Salish Sea with gorgeous views of Chuckanut Bay, Bellingham Bay and the San Juan Islands. The sunset view is spectacular all year long!

The 600 square foot cottage is well appointed. The main floor is one large room with a fully equipped kitchen on one side looking through the sitting area and out a picture window facing Chuckanut Bay. There is a large comfortable sofa, flat screen,Apple TV and wifi throughout the cottage. The full bath features a tub and shower. The cottage has naturally finished reclaimed-original wood floors throughout. In the corner of the room is a gas-wood stove making this a very cozy cottage any time of the year.

Upstairs you will find one large room that partially overlooks the main floor. There is a luxurious king size bed facing the bay and islands, wonderful sleeper sofa and ample shelving and hanging space. Both floors are private. Although open to below.

From the cottage it is a short walk down a stairway to the beach. At beach level there is a wonderful private sitting area where you can swim or enjoy the calm bay by kayak or rowboat.

It is a quick bike ride on Chuckanut Drive where one can get on the interurban trail and ride just 4 miles north to Fairhaven, a historic seaside village with great shopping, restaurants and nightlife. Fairhaven is also the gateway to the San Juan Islands, Victoria and Alaska by ferry and hosts the Amtrack train station if one wants a quick trip to Vancouver BC or Seattle. Imagine all of that without getting into your car! Go south and find the public boat launch, beaches and access to phenomenal mt. biking and hiking of Larabee St. Pk just minutes from the cottage. Further down Chuckanut Drive are oysterbeds, gorgeous farmland and further yet is Seattle, which is 90 minutes by car. To the northeast Mt. Baker and the foothills of the Cascades offer world class snowboarding and skiing as well as endless miles of backcountry exploring.

Like all the houses on Chuckanut Bay, it is close to the main railway line that links Seattle and Vancouver BC. When the cottage was renovated the owner/builders who live next door, went to great lengths to quiet the cottage as much as possible. If you wish to further diminish the train sounds, earplugs are provided.

This charming cottage is nestled on several acres among old-growth cedars and majestic maple trees. The privacy aspect makes you feel as though you are removed from civilization, yet it is located just minutes away from every convenience. The house has a wrap-around deck, perfect for outdoor dining and relaxing. The property has a shared sports court for pickleball, basketball, and more. Lake Samish is just across Friday Creek Road.

Public lake access can be found 100 yards north of the house on Friday Creek Road. A double kayak is available for your use (stored down by the dock, paddles in the bathroom closet). We have also added two stand-up paddleboards and a youth kayak to the patio (Summer months only). Feel free to take these down to the lake access point and please return to the porch after each use.

This two-bedroom, one-bath home also offers a sleeping loft with 3 twin beds, perfect for children 5 and over. For infants and toddlers, we have a Pack-n-Play portable crib stored in the closet. The large bedroom has a king-size Sleep Number bed. The second bedroom has a queen-size bed and access to the sleeping loft. Both bedrooms have French doors that open to the wrap-around deck.

The living area is fashioned in the "great room" style with a comfortable sitting area, an equipped kitchen, and a dining table with seating for up to 7 people. Direct access to the deck makes for easy barbecuing and outdoor entertaining. The house is equipped with a 50" television and high-speed internet for anyone feeling the need to stay connected.

There is a friendly neighborhood cat "Scout". Please do not let him in the house. Not only for those with allergies, but we need to keep the property pristine. Additionally, it can be difficult to get him out!

We enjoyed the notes of history in the decor. But the high point was feeding the chickens, ducks, and geese, and learning so much about birds and their eggs from the friendly, gracious owners. We made fabulous omelets from bright yellow-yolked chicken and goose eggs, and loved learning about the different types of birds and their names and characters. What a peaceful setting, with freedom to walk around and observe life of the farm. No wonder so many reviews mention how kids love it, but we adults did, too. It was a great stay."

The space
We purchased this property as a means to get away from the hustle and bustle of life. It is a quiet retreat and a perfect way to enjoy magnificent views, great swimming in the summer and fun wildlife (the eagles come swooping along the lake often and the bunnies will say hi also).

If you are looking for an upscale, sparkly home, this is NOT it. It is well stocked and furnished.

Be mindful that around water (lakes, rivers, etc), there tends to be more rodents. We have traps/ultrasonic repellers/etc) to deter rodents. Please keep screen doors closed at all times.

Boat tie up rules - do not tie a boat to the float more than 2 hours per day and always use boat bumpers. No tie ups to anything else on the property, including but not limited to retaining wall, pier, gangway, pilings, etc). Absolutely no overnight tie ups to the float as this could cause damage at the guests expense. No anchoring the boat allowed in the lake. Please use the boat launch 2 minutes down the road-DO NOT USE the ramp on the property other than for small boats (kayaks). Damage to the property/fines from the County caused by boats/etc are at the guest expense.

Cameras - we have cameras monitoring the exterior of the property.

There are kayaks and a playset for guest use. These may sometimes have cobwebs-after all, they are outdoors. We have a broom and/or rags to wipe them down.

Spacious (1200 sq ft) with 3 bedrooms ( king and twin in loft), queen and bunk beds in the 2 downstairs bedrooms, full kitchen, dining and living areas, and a covered porch with a gas grill. Country sounds abound–coyotes, cows and roosters (right next door so earplugs provided!). S’mores fixings are provided for your private fire pit, as are roasting sticks, fire starters and wood. Soak in your own private hot tub with your morning coffee with a view of Mt Baker. The pool and second hot tub are about 150 feet away. Please note that if you want private pool time, reserve with Jackie. Please note that there may be other guests on the property.

The space
Our detached two story carriage house is complete with a full kitchen, living room, 2 bedrooms & bath (shower + vanity), laundry and patio. Bedrooms & bathroom on 2nd floor.

The carriage house is located on the east side of the main house, with an Airbnb parking sign on the front of it. Go through the metal gate to access the front of the building.

Please be aware that we on Chuckanut Mountain therefore cell service is VERY challenging but we do offer wifi. Guests (and ourselves) have had no issues using wifi calling to compensate for the poor cellular coverage.

In for the evening? Enjoy cable TV along with a variety of dvds. Complimentary coffee/tea, fruit basket, cider with key bottle opener (yours to keep). Bedroom lamps equipped with USB ports. Pullout sofabed available to accommodate 5th guest (linens provided) at additional $25 fee.

This is a non-smoking property.

We have resident ducks and koi in our ponds along with other small critters and birds. We have a delicate ecosystem for our wildlife friends. Please do not feed the animals or throw anything into the ponds.

Strict no pet policy due to allergies. Violation of this policy will result in guests being asked to leave without a refund.

Being that we are on Chuckanut Mountain, CELLULAR SERVICE IS VERY LIMITED therefore you may have difficulty getting a signal but we do offer wifi. Our guests have no issues with wifi calling to compensate for the poor cellular coverage. Many of our guests have worked onsite and held video conferences without issues. Please note in the event of a POWER OUTAGE during storm season, there is NO cellular service or wifi. The Fire Department is located at the end of the street in case of a medical emergency during an outage. Cellular signal is available a mile up the road at Larabee Park if cellular is needed during a power outage.

Please note that our ponds are for viewing pleasure only. For the health and well being of our aquatic life, please do not dip your feet in or swim in our ponds as doing so will impact the delicate ecosystem. Please ensure that children do not approach the ducks, particularly when we have ducklings or any other wildlife or disturb the feeders.

COVID-19
We care about your health and safety. A clean/sanitized guest house and common areas keeps us all in good health. But if you have been or think you may have been exposed to COVID-19 or are exhibiting symptoms, we kindly ask you to visit us another time. We also ask our guests to not bring additional guests outside of your party. Please help us keep common areas clean and use the hand sanitizer upon entering the cottage and before exploring the backyard and it’s amenities. In addition, cleaning products will be provided, please wipe down surfaces after use. Much appreciated thank you.

The space
Sandy's Beach House is a small, on the ocean side, cozy home with two bedrooms, each with a queen size bed, living room with a fireplace, one full bathroom, laundry machines, and kitchen.

Build a wood fire in the fireplace (Wood is not provided. Feel free to grab a bundle at the convenience store on your way into Sandy Point.) and cozy up on the couch while watching the most beautiful sunsets you've ever seen.

Walk on the beach and collect agates, sea glass, seashells or pretty rocks to add to a collection. Enjoy a fire on the beach with a glass of wine or roast marshmallows. Walk across the quiet street to play tennis, pickleball or badminton, swing on the swing set or walk your dog.

2 Ocean Kayaks available with paddles and a couple of life vests or bring your own. (Kayaks available at renters own risk; owner assumes no responsibility)

The space
Welcome to our 2 bedroom cottage that lives spaciously for groups of 4 overnight guests. Ideal for two couples, small families, and discerning travelers looking for a luxurious spot to relax.

Adjacent to the living room is a charming yet large kitchen, equipped with all the necessities. Amenities include a coffee bar with Pete's coffee pods, electric stove and oven, microwave, fridge, dishwasher, and many other appliances ready for cooking. Off the kitchen you will find the dining room and a bbq just outside the back door.

There are two bedrooms and both are well appointed with king beds, fine linens, and designer vintage lighting. The primary bedroom has an en-suite bath.

Both bathrooms are designed to be your spa retreats, featuring arched showers, stone floors, luxury vintage fixtures, charming cabinet details, and luxury hotel soaps by Gilchrest & Soams.

Out back you'll find a 10' oak beam dining table, fire pit and beautiful pastoral views with peaks of Mt Baker. The expansive grass yard is great for games and small parties or gatherings.

Our cottage in the countryside is set upon 10 acres of beautiful trails, woodlands, and meadows with two ponds. Feel welcome to visit our exquisite Forest Room tucked into the woods off of the trail.

The space
Cottage at StoneHouse is newly designed and built by us, and is a complete home that is located on our residential property. We are located about one hour from Mount Baker, Vancouver BC, and the San Juan Island Ferries. We are antique importers and have curated the cottage with heritage wooden items, such as pillars, furniture, and an historical jaroka from the Thar Desert of North India. Our beautiful black stone floors have radiant heat for warmth in the winter and coolness in the summer.

The cottage has one bedroom that opens out to the living room and a sliding door out to the front terrace. Our living room has a comfortable sofa and chair, coffee table, enclosed TV and stereo system, of which you may sign into your own streaming services. Please note: Network TV is not available. Sit in front of the electric fireplace, or work from our home at a stylish desk. The dining room has a large rosewood table, a console with antiques, and a lovely old teak cabinet full of books and interesting magazines. The ample sized bathroom has a tiled walk-in shower and a bidet toilet. Our complete kitchen is fully outfitted and ready for you to cook gourmet meals. There is also a sitting room next to the kitchen. We have tried to anticipate your every need!

The cottage has two outdoor garden spaces, one in front, one in back. Feel welcome to walk the woodland and meadow trails, as well as the Forest Room, which is an outdoor room for yoga, meditation, cup of coffee in the morning or glass of wine in the evening.
