Welcome to this beautiful 900 square foot daylight basement apartment with 9' ceilings. This spacious apartment is on the lower level of the main house. It is completely separate with its own covered entrance. Located in South Bellingham within minutes to parks, trails, beaches, shopping and WWU. Galbraith trailheads are 2.3 miles away for those who enjoy mountain biking. For walking, hiking or running we have many options including Lake Padden, Whatcom Falls, Interurban Trail, and Boulevard Park all within minutes of our home.
Our family resides above the apartment with our own separate entrance. With a simple call or text during your stay we can assist with any questions or issues you have. This large apartment is the lower level of the main house. It is completely separate with its own entrance and a slider that opens to the patio area. We are happy to share access to the rest of our beautiful property. Its a great place to hang out and have fun with many areas available for yard games or hanging out by a fire.
The rental is beautifully remodeled and very spacious yet cozy. Both bedrooms have queen beds, plus a third sleeping area with an IKEA couch that makes into a queen bed. The open concept kitchenette/living area is great for families and small groups. The kitchenette does not include a range/oven, but we have included appliances to make it easy to cook simple meals. These include an induction burner, a counter top convection oven/roaster, griddle, crock-pot, microwave and small toaster oven. The kitchen includes a full sink, an apartment size refrigerator, and plenty of counter space. Plus there is access to the grill. We proudly provide locally roasted coffee and locally blended teas.
Loni and I live in the upper level of the house and have our own entrances and upper deck. Most of the time we will be available for help, questions or even a chat. We understand if you like your privacy and will do our best to respect that, but if you would like to pick a locals brain we are always happy to share a beverage together.
Our neighborhood is conveniently situated to be close to many options. We are 4.5 miles to downtown Bellingham, 1 mile to Lake Whatcom and Toad Lake, and close to Mt Baker Hwy for access to mountain activities. Plus there are parks and trails nearby for walks, hikes and mountain biking. We are very lucky to have 5 acres so close in town. Its our little oasis in the middle of the neighborhood.

NOISE:
The studio is located on the bottom level of a Tri-Level beach home (Note: the studio is not located in a basement setting). The noise is noticeably reduced with noise dampers, but please keep in mind the host and pet lives above the rental. Sleep packs are provided in the studio for any light sleepers.
COMFORT:
The studio offers central heat and air and is shared within the home, so guests will need to contact the host to request any temperature adjustments. Portable heaters and fans are provided for extra comfort as well as blackout curtains to help reflect sunlight and keep the studio temperatures cooler during warmer months.

• No events or parties (If determined that a party/event is taking place at property, host has right to evict tenants and guests with no refund given).

It is the 2nd story of an office building, requiring ascending/descending a flight of stairs. Slightly unconventional, this converted office space has 2 large bedrooms off of a full kitchen with a large table for dining, and no formal living room. Each bedroom includes a King sized bed, a sofa bed or couch, 43" screen tv, wifi. Extra guest fee for groups of greater than 2 people.

Enjoy the benefits of riding your bike from the front door right to the Galbraith mountain trail system. Along with lake whatcom a 5 min drive away, and lake Padden a 2 min drive. Where you can paddle board, kayak or go exploring. (I do have a paddle board available) Take a trip to the historic town of fairhaven or downtown Bellingham less than 10 min away. The cozy 900sf apartment has a king bed with futon and sectional couch for guests to sleep. Along with the garage downstairs where you can lock up your bikes and hang out while either cleaning your bike or taking off your gear. I do have a bike stand and a shop full of tools if needing to do any maintenance along with a Traeger you can cook or bbq with.

The apartment is part of a property with 2 separate apartments -- each has a private exterior entrance at the rear of the house and an interior entrance from the front of the house. The apartments share access to the gardens and grounds of the property. None of the interior spaces are shared.
The Neighborhood:
Absolutely in the heart of Bellingham, The Victorian on Garden is just steps from the best of downtown Bellingham. Diagonally across the street from our favorite grocery store in town and just a few blocks of some of the best brewpubs, restaurants, coffee shops, stores, and bakeries in Bellingham -- you won't be far from anything. And, if you want to venture out to explore the area even further, the house provides convenient access -- it's not hard to reach hiking at Chuckanut, skiing at Mt Baker, or boating in Bellingham Bay. We'd be happy to provide our favorite recommendations.
Getting Around:
The house is easily walkable to downtown Bellingham and just a few miles from Fairhaven. You certainly don't need a car while you are staying with us -- bike (inquire about rentals if you are interested) or foot will do. However, if you do have a car, you are welcome to park on-site. Please be sure to leave space for guests staying in the other apartement to park and access the house.

- "Emma’s home was the most ideal home for my partner and I while in Bellingham. It was beautiful, clean, cozy, and the location is exactly where you want to be in Bellingham - perfectly walkable to anything with a bakery and grocery store literally outside of the front door, and about 1.5hr drive from the trails at Mount Baker. The amenities were fabulous with a record player, piano, outdoor seating filled with fragrant lavender, kitchen supplies, tea/coffee and a shocking number of toiletries (local lotions, serums, and soaps that were incredible!) and towels. We stayed in the downstairs portion so we can’t speak to the upper level, but will certainly stay here again when we go to see my sister (a Fairhaven student) - next time with our pup!"

Beachfront you will find another relaxing platform deck and also the firepit for your enjoyment. 2024 dry dock dates are tentatively scheduled for April 18th-May17th.
Every year our ferry, the Whatcom Chief, goes into dry dock for maintenance at a shipyard. Since there is no substitute ferry, this means we have a foot passenger service only (you can bring a bike across). Check the Whatcom County website for official updates and information. There is a shuttle service provided on the island. This is a wonderful time for biking and walking, as the vehicle traffic is so low during this time.

The Farmhouse Suite features four bedrooms with queen beds, a private deck overlooking beautiful gardens, a bath with a soaking tub, and a walk-in shower. The gourmet kitchen includes a Wood Stone pizza oven, and the suite can sleep up to eight guests. Outside, enjoy a cooking and dining area equipped with a Big Green Egg and live fire cooking tools.
The main Farmhouse has three bedrooms with queen beds, private decks, a walk-in double steam shower, and a downstairs bathroom with a soaking tub. Its gourmet kitchen and wood stove in the great room make it ideal for gatherings. Additional amenities include a gas grill, charcoal grill, portable pizza oven, fire pit, and live fire cooking tools.
Each suite accommodates at least six guests and features its own kitchen garden. Minimum stay is two nights unless otherwise approved. Guests can also enjoy a wood-fired sauna for relaxation.

The apartment is on the lower level of a historic building, built in 1905 and fully renovated by us in 2020-21. It's a spacious studio, with 425 square feet, small well-appointed kitchen, ample closet/dresser space, and a roomy bathroom.
This space is best for for one or two people who want to have direct access to downtown, while relaxing and/or working remotely. The apartment faces a city street, and especially during the day you'll hear some traffic noise, and see pedestrians walking by. The location is great if you like to be "in the thick of things," and not great if you're looking for "secluded and quiet."
The building was originally a church rectory, then converted into an apartment building. A friendly renter lives in the unit directly above. The floor/ceiling is well-insulated, but you may hear them walking around their apartment from time to time.
Other details about the space:
-There are security cameras outside over the front door, over the front door of the adjacent unit, over the parking lot, and inside the laundry room. The apartment interior is not visible on any of the security cameras.
-The WiFi is typically fast. The desk is fairly large and could accommodate an external monitor if you travel with one. There's a great sounding Bluetooth speaker on the desk.
-You can sign into your own accounts on the 4K Roku TV.
-The laundry room is located through the door next to the unit, is shared with other guests/renters, and the code is provided and check in and printed in the check in/out instructions in the apartment. We supply a starter pack of detergent pods.
-All windows are double-pane and the walls and ceiling are insulated, which reduces noise.
-All windows have blinds for privacy.
-There is an AC/heat unit with a remote control, a forced air heater in the bathroom, and a portable electric space heater if needed during the coldest time of year.
-The kitchen has a small oven and range, plus pots, pans, utensils, and the basics needed for cooking.
-There is a drip coffee maker, French press, and a starter supply of drip coffee.
-Extra pillows, blankets, and towels are provided.
-The unit is licensed as a short term rental with the City of Bellingham, permit number USE2021-0013.
Guests have exclusive access to the entire apartment, including main living space, and bathroom. There is a shared laundry room in the same building as the apartment through a separate outside door.

Downtown Bellingham is lively and fun, with great restaurants, entertainment venues, and culture. You'll be a 1 minute walk to Aslan Brewing Company. and a 5-10 minute walk to the Farmer's Market, Wild Buffalo, Mount Baker Theater, and the best restaurants in town (and breweries, Food Co Op grocery store, indoor/outdoor dining, Rite Aid pharmacy, bowling alley, rock climbing gym, yoga studios, museums, and everything else downtown has to offer).
The apartment is a 5 Minute drive to WWU.
In downtown Bellingham you also may come across people experiencing homelessness, graffiti, and traffic noise.
There is one clearly marked private parking spot that fits one cars. From the private parking spot to the front door of the unit is a ~100ft walk on a stone/yard path, and down a flight of seven outdoor stairs onto the sidewalk. The front door faces the sidewalk.
There is often also street parking, and it's possible to get a street spot directly in front of the unit.
The apartment is on the edge of downtown and is an easy walk to breweries, coffee, groceries, and entertainment venues. If you prefer to drive, there is typically parking close to downtown restaurants, businesses, and attractions.

Enjoy vistas of the San Juan’s and Lake Whatcom when you stay at The Mini Repose. Only a short walk to nearby trails, lake access, and one of Bellingham’s best coffee shops. You have the convenience of nearby amenities whilst being tucked away above it all. This truly is a gem of a spot!

This cozy one bedroom apartment is fully equipped for long or short term stays. Enjoy the sunset evenings overlooking Drayton Harbor, or nestle in on the couch in front of the gas fireplace. The apartment has a big king size bed in the bedroom and a pull out couch that comfortably sleeps 2 in the living room. The kitchen is equipped with all the amenities you need to make yourself at home and dine in, but there are many restaurants in the area, the apartment sits right above The Drayton Harbor Oyster Company Restaurant, ..if you don’t feel like cooking.

Nice touch ! The sheets felt and smelled amazing :) The bed was very comfortable as well. We felt extremely safe here. It is located above a restaurant but you'd never know it. The train does go by, at the back of the apartment, on the water side, however, anywhere you stay in Blaine, you are going to hear the train. It would not keep me from staying there again. In fact, I plan to stay with them again when I return to Blaine ! The hosts go above and beyond. Communication is exceptional ! It's just a perfect place stay for any length of time and in a perfect location. A stunning view of the harbor is just out the door !"

Ever wondered what living Tiny would be like? Do you need to get away from it all? Escape to our acres and acres of blueberries in this serene country setting for the perfect opportunity to experience tiny house living! It’s definitely minimalism at its finest. This custom-built dual lofted tiny has been completely hand-crafted with high-end finishes from the inside out! Built on a 2015 Licensed Iron Eagle trailer, this 26 foot x 13 feet tall 282 square foot tiny with 10 foot ceilings in the living area is very spacious! With two separate sleeping areas, the upstairs main bedroom loft has a brand-new high-end queen mattress, there is a secondary sleeping area in the living room on a pull-out twin sleeper loveseat. The bathroom comes equipped with a full-size spacious shower, a vanity with lots of counter space, a Frameless LED lighted anti-fog bathroom mirror, a standard flushing toilet, and basic toiletries including shampoo, conditioner, and body wash. The kitchen has everything you’ll need to make yourself at home including brand new quartz countertops, a 2-burner electric stove, dishwasher, full-size refrigerator, microwave, toaster oven/air fryer, coffee maker, dishes, silverware, tea & coffee. There is a stool under the built-in dining space which doubles as a workstation to eat or work at while enjoying farm life or a view of unobstructed sunsets. We spend a great deal of time planning and working in this manner so we improvised by using stools as laptop tables. The apartment is located behind our main house above a detached garage. At the top of the stairs there is a landing that serves as a small but sunny deck. The backyard is shared with the house and there is an outdoor dining table and grill under a canopy of grapes.
There is a parking space that accompanies the apartment and if needed, a 220 volt plug in for an electrical vehicle available.

It's fully equipped w/kitchenette, living room, and a small deck with view of the woods and back yard. Guests will need to climb stairs to access the space.
Conveniently located just minutes off of the I5 freeway, 10mi to Birch Bay, beaches, Bellingham, and Canadian border.
Please note that due to the large size of the house and long spans of pipe it may take longer than usual for tap water to become hot.

Take a break and unwind at this peaceful oasis. Our brand-new guesthouse sits on an 8-acre property. It's a private, detached building so you'll have plenty of privacy. There is ample room for parking, including plug ins for RV's and a level 2 charging station for EV's. We are located just 20 minutes from Bellingham and an hour from Vancouver, B.C. There are beautiful views of Mount Baker right out your window. This is an open concept, one bedroom, one bathroom, almost 700sq ft apartment. It has a full kitchen with brand new appliances, including a dishwasher, microwave, coffee maker and toaster. The host provides basic cooking supplies to get you started, including olive oil and an array of herbs and spices. An assortment of tea and coffee are also provided. There's a dining room table that seats 4. The bedroom has a queen size bed and a walk-in closet. The living room has a sectional sofa that converts to a double bed with a memory foam mattress topper. There is a Roku TV that includes Youtube TV and Netflix. There is high speed internet. The bathroom has a tub/shower combo. There are towels and washcloths, shampoo/conditioner and soap.

The "Aloha Suite" is the name we have given our guest room attached to the south end of our garage. It is a separate building near our home and shop buildings. The room's decor is tropical, with, we hope, the spirit of "aloha" present.
The space
When our home was being built, we lived in the "Aloha Suite", a separate space on the south end of our garage. Since we moved into our home, the suite has been a haven for many guests. In the main room there are: a comfortable Serta queen sized bed, reading chair, small dining table and chairs, bookshelves with reading material of local and travel interest, yoga mat, and TV with Direct TV satellite channels (and instructions), and a Blu-ray player. In the bathroom there is a shower; and towels and robes are provided.
The "kitchenette": This nook in the corner of the main room contains a small refrigerator/freezer, glasses and dishes, basic food preparation items, electric tea kettle, "personal" blender, a choice of two coffee makers, a wide slot toaster, and a microwave. It is not a true kitchen equipped for lots of cooking and dish washing. We are happy to provide the use of our oven and to wash your dishes as needed. There is a laundry sink in the garage for washing large items. We have a barbecue grill on the porch that you may use.
It is possible to move the furniture to accommodate a sleeping pad for another person or a baby bed. On request, we can provide an iron and ironing board. We also have a selection of movies and board games you are welcome to borrow.
Guest access
You will have access to the entire suite, which has its own entrance and key. In addition, on our covered front porch, we have an infrared sauna which you are welcome to use in mild weather. Or, you can just sit in the garden, on the porch, or around the fire bowl patio and relax.
Other things to note
Since the "Aloha Suite" is attached to the garage, you may hear the garage doors opening and closing when we go somewhere. We can let you know when we have to leave early (usually Saturday morning), or come home late if you think the sound may disturb you. (Most people say that it doesn't bother them.)
You might be greeted by our dog Cali, and Jake who lives next door. Both may bark, but they are very friendly!

The space
The apartment does not have an oven / range but comes with numerous appliances for cooking including an electric griddle, kettle, toaster oven, microwave, and Kiereg coffee maker.
Addressing Covid-19 concerns: The apartment is separate from our living space and has it's own private entrance. Extra care is taken to not only clean but disinfect common touch points such as door & faucet handles, remotes, etc. All the apartment linens and towels go through a hot wash between guests. If you have any additional requests before your stay please let us know.

Other things to note
Our family includes two small children living directly above the apartment, so there will be noise during the morning / day (whenever they are awake). The kids go to bed early (yay!) but also wake up early (booo).
We have a dog (German Shorthair Pointer) who spends a lot of time during the day in our fenced in yard. The entrance to the apartment is separated from his space by the fence, but he will likely growl at you if he notices you coming in going as he is protective of the property. If you are uncomfortable with dogs, please let me know in advance so that we can figure out an arrangement that works for all of us.
There is a duct built into the ceiling between the kitchen and living room that comes down to 5'10" above the floor, so taller people have to duck when going between those two rooms. The rest of the unit has minimum 7' tall ceilings. My husband (Nathan) is 6'4" and we lived in the apartment comfortably for 6 months, so it is workable.
We have exterior mounted security cameras that cover all entrances and gates around the house. They are powered and recording 24/7, through unless there is a specific incident recordings are eventually overwritten.
Per our short term rental permit with the city our guests must be at least 25 years old and we can accommodate a maximum of two guests in our space.

This upstairs apt is centrally located beautiful historic home near Elizabeth park in B-ham. Spacious 1 bed - 1 bath was renovated in 2019 with a new kitchen, bathroom and flooring throughout. It is very comfortable for a couple who prefers to sleep on a (new) King mattress. Also would be great for travel nurses with close proximity to the hospital. We would also like to note that this is a lovely older home with tons of charm-with this come some creaky floors etc. There are other tenants in this lovely home, and we ask that guests are quiet and respectful. They are our priority. This space is best for those who want a serene, peaceful place to come home to or to work from... :) There should not be more that 2 people at any given time. This space is not suitable for children, babies, or anyone that considers themselves on the noisier side. We appreciate your consideration.

As super hosts for over a year, we love to be available to our guests. However, we also like guests to feel they have a great deal of privacy. The unit has its own private entrance up a short flight of stairs to the upper level. We also provide electronic locks so guests don't need to worry about getting a key, or hanging on to a key. This also provides a great deal of flexibility for checkin! There is ample street parking for those guests with a car, however with the proximity to downtown, restaurants, bike lanes, and bus stops... a car is not necessary in this location.
Other things to note
This listing is great for families. We have a Graco pack n’ play that is available to guests upon request. We also have a collapsible stroller that is available to guests during their stay. One thing to note: this unit only has a standing shower. If your kiddo needs a tub, you can request to borrow Portable one from us. Otherwise, the shower is great for hosing little ones down.

The Cottage on Front Street is a warm and cozy two bedroom abode close to restaurants, family-friendly activities, nightlife, and public transportation. Our apartment is close to everything Bellingham has to offer with the feel of being in the countryside. The house is situated on two acres of land with many fruit trees.
The space
Our garden apartment is completely separate from our house. You have your own private entrance with king size bed, cozy gas fireplace couch and full kitchen. The kitchen has everything you need to cook a simple meal as well as a Keurig to enjoy your morning coffee. If you would like anything beyond basic kitchen supplies we are happy to provide with prior notice. A television with movies and apple tv with hulu, netflix, etc. is also in the apartment, however there is no cable. Please keep in mind that we have young children and therefore you may hear light footnoise in the apartment usually between the hours of 8 am and 8 pm.

The Forest Retreat is only accessed through its own exterior entrance to ensure complete privacy and solitude for our guests. It contains ample windows, opening up to the forested landscape below. Simple meal prep is possible at the kitchenette using a single induction burner, microwave, toaster oven and utensils provided. Sleep soundly on a quality Puffy brand queen mattress.

The Forest Retreat is accessed via a keypad for self check in. The space is self contained and guests have full private access to a living area, bathroom containing a stand up shower, and a bedroom with one queen bed.

The location offers easy trail access (within walking distance) at the end of the Lane, to the Stimpson Nature Reserve, a 2.8 mile loop through amazing wooded landscapes. There are two restaurants and a small market within a 10 minute drive.

Cozy upstairs apartment in a turn of the century Craftsman home. One small bedroom with queen bed, full kitchen & bathroom, living room with a small bay area that is curtained off and has a dresser and twin bed (this room does not have a door, but has blackout curtains to separate the space from the living room. Our newly renovated Basement Studio is awesome for anyone that is looking for a clean, modern space close to downtown Bellingham. In the historic Lettered Streets neighborhood, walk to all the great breweries and restaurants. Although this house was built in the late 1800's... the studio is new, bright, and a perfect getaway. It has it all: King Size bed, full kitchen, and a mud-room to store outdoor bikes, boards, skis, and kayaks. PLEASE READ the entire listing description!
The space
This space has been 100% renovated! Every aspect is new, fresh, and clean. It is the bottom floor of a 3 story home that was built in 1886! The front door opens directly to the driveway, so there is no need to haul your luggage very far. It is also very accessible for those that do not want to climb stairs. Full kitchen is provided, with a full size stove, sink, and refrigerator. We also provide a Keurig coffee maker. and moderate cooking supplies. We provide simple amenities to make you feel at home, such as a hair dryer, iron, and desk space. We also love to give people a feel for the historic charm of our old Bellingham neighborhood, so we have incorporated historic black and white photos from the Whatcom Museum. We also love the vintage inspired record player to add some ambience to the space and hope guests enjoy a record or two while they are here.

Guest access is the entire floor studio. Doors are operated by an electronic lock, so there is no fussing with keys. This also provides convenience for guests to arrive at their leisure. Guests also have access to the sitting area on the front porch, and any parking that is available in the driveway.

As mentioned, we are VERY close to the water and downtown. In Bellingham, with any proximity to the waterfront, you will be able to hear the trains. This unit has brand new windows, so the noise is very minimal. Also, please read our neighborhood description. Newly built in 2022, our 400 sq ft bright and cozy 1 BD, 1 BA apartment is centrally located in Sunnyland. The neighborhood is quiet, safe and walkable - a 10 minute walk to downtown and Trader Joe's and 5 minute walk to many restaurants, breweries and coffee shops.
The apartment is meticulously clean and tastefully decorated with private stairway access and designated parking space in driveway off alley.
Unfortunately the space is not suitable for children and we have a 2-person maximum.
The space
The apartment is above our detached garage and we live in the house on the front of the property. Access requires going up a full flight of stairs, which may be a challenge if you have mobility issues. The separate buildings create a private stay for you in the apartment, but we are on site in case you need anything. There is a private bedroom with a queen bed and a large closet, a fully equipped kitchen with apartment-sized appliances, a full-sized washer and dryer in case you need to wash your clothes after some mountain biking, and a seating area with a comfortable couch and 50” TV to stream your favorite shows.

Maximum occupancy is 2 people and we do not allow overnight guests that are not listed on the reservation.
There is a dedicated parking space near the stairs to the apartment. DO NOT use the empty lot next door as a parking space, even temporarily. Additional vehicles must use street parking in front of our house.

Things to consider:
1) The furnace is located in the bathroom and while in operation it emits normal furnace noises. Most of our guests are not bothered by this, but in case these noises are likely to disrupt your stay we kindly advise against booking our Airbnb.
2) Our space is not rated for small children per Airbnb’s guidelines (tall furniture secured to the wall, child locks on stoves and cabinets, outlet covers, table corner guards, high chair, bathtub for bath time, etc) but we’ve had plenty of guests with children who were satisfied with the space. Please refer to our space’s complete list of amenities to determine if our location suits your needs.
3) We are not located in the heart of downtown. Instead we are nestled in a lovely forested neighborhood with very close access to trails. Our location does not offer walkable distance to shops and restaurants (we are approximately 3 miles to the start of downtown) but the WTA bus stop is a 3 minute walk down our street, which takes you downtown. Uber is also available in Bellingham if you do not wish to drive.

We don't have an elevator so there is a flight of stairs. It borders the "Lettered Streets" neighborhood and the Central Business District and is across the street from the Whatcom Creek water way and kitty-corner from Bellingham Senior Center. Walk to anywhere in downtown, and we are about 5 minutes walk to City Hall and Whatcom County Courthouse.
