Uneven and slanting flooring and the threshold from bedroom to bathroom is broken and a tripping hazard. Shower curtain so dark and opaque that seeing your feet in the shower is problematic. Even the little topper on the railing outside was broken off from what appears to be wood rot. Perhaps the worst thing is the noise from the trains about 150 yards away. The earliest one was about 6am and the last one was around 1am. Nowhere in the description of the property was this mentioned. They do provide earplugs, but I can’t put things in my ears with any comfort. I hazard to think what parents traveling with young skids would do. No way an infant would sleep through the loud train horns and even feeling the floor shaking when they pass. Very disappointed and would avoid this place at all costs. Since they’re the only B&B type place in the area, there seems to be little motivation to improve."

When the Sun Shines, this place soaks it up! It's sunny here far more often than many places in Western Washington.

Perfect for 2 people, however, it Can Sleep 7 People --- but it will be tight.

There is one main bedroom with a queen size bed and TV PLUS a tiny bunk bedroom with 3 single beds & TV.

HOWEVER...The bunk room is directly connected to the shower, there is a door for privacy, but you will have to negotiate access to the room with the person who may be taking a shower.

We have another queen size fold out bed for the living room. ALL BEDS ARE VERY COMFORTABLE according to reports by MOST people.

The shower has double shower heads!!!

Living room has both a sofa and a love seat. There is also a gas fireplace which warms the apartment quickly. THERE IS NO TV IN THE LIVING ROOM, it would take away from the views, but each bedroom has 2 large screen TVs.

The Kitchen has Pots, Pans, Sinks, 4 burner gas stove plus gas oven, Microwave Oven, Toaster, Coffee Maker, Grinder and ORGANIC Coffee, Full Size Refrigerator, Plates, Glasses, Bowls and more; it is setup with all that you will need for cooking good quality meals.

About our Authentic Home Made India Food - Of course it is delicious. We use pesticide free and organic ingredients to the extent that is possible. So please understand, we will do our best to honor our commitment to serve food but there are no guarantees. Ask for our menu. This is an add on charge.

ROAD NOISE: We do have some road noise. MOST guests barely notice it. SOME guests do have issues with it. If you are highly sensitive to noise or can't stop focusing on it, then this is not the place for you. We live here and rarely notice it. It is the worst when standing outside in the drive way and trying to have a conversation. But inside of the units, out back enjoying the amazing views, which is where most people spend most of their time, most people don't even notice it. It is barely audible.

GUEST NOISES: From time to time we have guests downstairs who have a little to much of a good time, too much to drink and get a bit noisy. It does carry up through the floor when that happens. We ask them, and you, not to do that and it is a house rule to keep it quiet especially after 10pm.

Likewise we ask you to keep your noise level down. Especially moving furniture around does make loud scraping sounds downstairs, so just be aware and respectful of the downstairs guests. They have been told there could be noise coming from upstairs, please, just try not to make it excessive.

Happy Valley Studio rests in a lovely rural neighborhood, near 2800 acres of Community Forestlands hiking trails. It's ~15 minutes (3.6 Mi) from the Ferry to the San Juan Islands and an easy 5 minutes from downtown Anacortes. We have been in operation since 2015 on a different platform, with over700 stellar reviews and are so happy to now also be on VRBO! The space
The Studio is separate from our main residence, and it is roomy, at 375 sq. ft. Our setting is 2.5 acres of garden and woodlands. You will see wildlife if you watch carefully for it, including quail, eagles, hawks, blue heron, coyote, and rabbits. Since we are rural, on clear nights you may even see the stars through the skylight windows in your room, or moonlight. In the Springtime, the frogs sing in serenade from the pond!

You have access to the entire North half of the upstairs in what has long been known as "the barn." It is actually a two-story garage, workroom, and flower drying facility, and greenhouse, and was used for many years as part of the dried flower production and gift shop businesses of its former owners.

The property is accessed via a short one-lane gravel lane with turnouts. We all pull over with a smile and a wave, to allow others by! Your parking is located directly at the foot of the balcony stairs by the two white concrete posts.

We have 220v outlet for vehicle charging located by the entrance door.

Our historically restored 1912 home is located in the Stilliguamish Valley 2 minutes outside the quaint Scandinavian town of Stanwood and in the heart of farming and snow goose country. Flocks of snow geese abound from early October to late April.

The Stanwood retreat private apartment is located on the 3rd floor of the house. This 1500 sq. ft. space is perfect for families, medium event groups, group retreats, or someone looking for short-term rental. There are two large rooms in the apartment that fit up to 8 people comfortably. One room contains a King bed and sitting area, and the second room includes four built-in bunkbeds and a double bed. Besides the spacious bedrooms theres also a private kitchenette, sitting area, dining area, and full bathroom with sink, toilet, and shower. For large parties there are two bathrooms available.

We were so thrilled with our choice to stay at Lady Florence - the lovely grounds beautiful home and very comfortable accommodations made for a relaxing and lovely experience . We came in the height of the summer heat and we’re not bothered at all - the insulation of the third floor and the cross breeze and wonderful fans provided all we needed to stay comfortable and cool - the kitchen came in so handy with everything we needed. My teenagers each had their own bed and space and my younger girls loved the charm and grace of the decor inside and out! Our friends were able to stay in a suite in the floor below with their infant which was an additional bonus / oh and the luxurious bathtub on the second floor was simply divine ( not sure about the other review because there is most definitely a lock on the bathroom door ) I cannot say enough about how much we love this place ! The host was so accommodating and responsive. We will definitely make a point to return and tell other about this place ! Couples would love the second story suites and the third story apartment is absolutely perfect for a family or group - it’s laid out with several sitting areas and many beds ! The space
The room is on the second floor of a large shop, above another Airbnb space. The bathroom/laundry is located just off the stairs. We ask our guests to respect the quiet hours to not wake the below guests.

Guest access
Private access to your room. The kitchenette and bathroom are on the main floor of the garage which we sometimes use to shoot hoops during daylight hours. The garage does have heated floors but it can still be colder than room temperature while using the kitchenette area.

Other things to note
The room is at the top of a flight of stairs. The access door to the garage is located at the opposite end of the room. You’ll walk around our boat to get to the room.

If you plan on bringing your pet, please make sure you have a crate for it if you plan on leaving it in the room while you’re away. We also kindly ask that they are not on the furniture for future guests allergies.

- "The code for the lock box for the front door was not provided. Anywhere. I had to call to get this info. Lock box code should be provide with gate" - "This is the second time we’ve stayed in this unit. It’s really charming and perfect for our visit." - "Darling little house tucked on beautiful country roads." - "The location is quite secluded with a gated entry. The home was very clean with cute little touches. No complaints about the bed and bedding... again very clear and comfortable. Our plan was to relax away from home and enjoy the New Years games with friends that live nearby, however, we weren't able to connect to the internet for any television viewing whatsoever. I'm guessing the seclusion of the home probably has a lot to do with this, plus the weather wasn't ideal. This could pose a real problem for someone that's telecommuting or reliant on the internet. We reached out to what I assume is the property manager, Vacasa, that made suggestions, which we had already attempted multiple times. The reply times were not particularly prompt, however, they did respond each time with basically the same suggestions. We ended up all going to the local casino to view the games in the sports bar, so it wasn't a total loss. All in all, we enjoyed our time there, albeit without internet connection."

Day trips can be made to Seattle (60 miles to the south), San Juan Islands (to the west), Cascade Mountains/Mount Baker recreation (to the east) or Bellingham (home of WWU) and Vancouver, Canada (90 miles to the north).

Five Cedars Retreat is 7 miles (travel by car or bike) from the Skagit tulip farms on the west side of the city of Mount Vernon. Your host can provide travel advice. Staying in Mount Vernon gives you the opportunity to see the tulips during sunrise and sunset when fewer tourists are present.

Five Cedars Retreat is an inviting, one-bedroom apartment nestled in the daylight basement level of a 1950's Cape Cod house. Your first impression will be the sight of five old cedar trees sheltering a cheerful blue house with a red door. The host lives in the house on the upper floors.

You will have an assigned parking space and your own private entrance door into the apartment. This apartment is not handicapped-accessible because it has a gravel driveway and two steps within the apartment. Note- This basement level apartment has low ceilings- 6 ft 8 in (198 centimeters) in the living room, bedroom, and kitchen. The bathroom ceiling is 6 ft (182 centimeters). - "Our host, Vince, was very communicative during the check-in process, to make sure I completed all of the registration and payment requirements. When I received the Check-In/Access information, the morning of occupancy, after I had left home, was the first notice that if I wanted to enjoy "watching your favorite shows on the flat-screen TV", as mentioned in the property description, I would need to bring a ROKU or Firestick from home. That's not a TV, that's a "Monitor". There was one "amenity" which was not listed in the site description. Next to the bathroom sink was a small canister of ear plugs. That was to make "A tranquil haven featuring a comfortable queen-sized bed, soft linens, and ample storage space, ensuring you wake up refreshed and ready for the day's adventures." since it was located about a block away from the railroad tracks. Trains went by 5 or 6 times at night, blowing their horns each time. The bed was uncomfortably firm. There was "ample storage space" in the closets, the only reply that I got when I inquired if there were extra blankets was "Did you check the closets". I did, there were none. Our "adventures" did include killing a very large spider coming out from under the coffee table while we were unable to enjoy "watching your favorite shows on the flat-screen TV." The unit was still in the midst of remodel with uneven floors and incomplete trim work. So not only will I never rent from Vince again, I will probably not consider VRBO again. "

A former artist's studio in the beautiful hillcrest park neighborhood of Mount Vernon. This spacious 550 square foot, second floor loft has 4 skylights that bring lots of natural light. It has its own entrance, a dining area, sitting area with fold-out couches, kitchenette and queen bed. Close to family-friendly activities, including Hillcrest Park playgrounds, public transport, and the city center. This studio is great for couples, solo adventurers, business travelers, and families (with kids).

The space
The studio is above our detached garage with a separate entrance, so late arrivals are not a problem.

Guests have access to the loft living areas and garage.

Other things to note
The loft has just installed wifi. The kitchenette has coffee and tea. We are about 1 mile from train tracks, so especially in the summer with windows open, you will likely hear the trains at night.

We do not allow smoking, vaping, or marijuana use inside the loft. Guests are welcome to use these products outside away from buildings.

The space
Please make sure you read the full property description before booking. Also unfortunately due to a past guest, we do have what seems to be a lot of rules but most of them should not have to be a rule and 95% of people would not act this way in someone else's home that they are a guest in.

I have also placed a manual in your space that talks about the area, places to eat, and things to do. You will also find brochures for some fun weekend activities in your space. There are lots of great walking trails and outdoor activities in the area. Great local restaurants nearby (you will have all the necessary items to cook in your space but there is NO kitchen sink at this time so doing your dishes requires you to use the bathroom sink unfortunately just like you would in a hotel). We are also located close to the hospital, amazing hiking trails, and shopping.

We are located in the country and surrounded by farmland so you will hear the neighborhood roosters from time to time.

We are also located on a country road but the house is solid concrete so the road noise and bird noises while inside is very minimal. But when enjoying the outside spaces you will hear birds, dogs barking, trucks, and motorcycles cruising by.

In the area you are renting, you are the only person staying there, but the bus Airbnb guest and the owner does need to pass through the common area Living Room/kitchenette to get to the laundry so we ask that you always keep your personal items in your private room and keep that common space picked up. Your private bedroom and bathroom were remodeled in 2020 and only used by Airbnb guests. Please note that you may occasionally hear cats racing around in the middle of the night or the dogs once in a while if they get excited to go for a ride. They tend to race for the door but the owner will always try to keep that noise to a minimum.

There are 2 very friendly and social large breed dogs on the property so you must be an animal lover. There is a dog park less than a mile away. I allow pets but, I work from home during the day. If you plan to leave your pet during the day and want it to interact with my dogs I do offer Pet Sitting for $35 per day per pet or there is a doggy daycare down the road. Please don't just leave your dogs in the yard all day if you are out and about. There is an outdoor kennel you can use only if they do not bark constantly in the kennel. If the pets bark or scratch at the doors or get destructive from separation anxiety then please use a local doggy daycare and don’t leave them here. This has been a problem in the past. ALSO PLEASE NOTE: We have a couple of outdoor cats. Please go with your pets while they are outside. We also have a pond with Koi and Goldfish and this area is also fenced off. Please see the photos for more info.

Outdoor spaces are a work in progress to continually improve so you may see the owner working on the pond putting the finishing touches on the outdoor pizza oven or working on some other projects. The owner spends a lot of time outdoors improving the property daily, especially during the summer months planting flowers/trees, watering the gardens, and doing yard Maintenance.

Guest access
You will have one assigned parking space outside of the fenced-in area on the street. We live in the country so expect to hear a rooster once in a while. We ask that the door remain closed to keep out farm bugs and flies. :-). We are very close to lots of great restaurants, shopping, hiking, and activities. There is a bus stop nearby if you choose to ride the bus instead of drive. We are close enough to walk or ride a bike to our main street or grocery stores.

There are a lot of local breweries and wineries in the area that hold summer music events.

The garage, one room downstairs in the basement, and the upstairs residence are off-limits to guests, no exception. There will be signs on the doors of areas that are off-limits. The School Bus is rented to other Airbnb guests and off-limits as well unless you choose to rent that space as well.

Other things to note
If you bring a dog (no cats are allowed due to the expensive leather sofa that was used as a scratching post previously and the couch was just replaced) there will be a $250 PER adult dog deposit and I will need to steam clean carpets and furniture for the next guest so I will refund only $150 of each deposit at check out. If you require dog sitting I charge $35.00 per day but if it is during a work day and they are vocal or destructive they will need to go to one of the area's doggy daycares. I also travel for work so there will be days I am not available so having a relationship with a doggie daycare is not a bad thing.

Also if you have extra vehicles or people there will be an extra charge per day per person and per vehicle and I require a copy of their driver's license. All people staying or visiting the property must get prior approval if they were not listed during your booking (no exception, this is a safety issue for current and future guests).

There is 1 day a week assigned laundry day only for guests staying 7 days or longer (you must provide your own laundry supplies), you will have the choice between 2 days. If those days don’t work there is a laundromat nearby. If you require additional days there will be a $10 additional charge. See house rules for additional info.

Enjoy the upstairs view of Chuckanut Bay and Bellingham. We provide complimentary organic coffee for short term guests which is roasted locally. Our water comes from a reservoir in the Cascade foothills and is very good. We include a refillable charcoal filtered pitcher. Unit space is 700 square feet

Bird lovers come and enjoy Eagles and Kingfishers hunting along the creek. Relax and rejuvenate in the spacious 600 square foot loft above a garage. There are 16 stairs to climb to get there.
You will also enjoy the 200 square foot attached deck.
There is one full sized bed and a roll away twin size bed. There is a small European shower, it measures 32"x 32".
You will travel a mile on an unpaved, country road to get here, in the winter months a 4wheel drive vehicle or chains would be wise.

The space
My log home is up the driveway and most of the time I will be available if you need anything, or a phone call away. There are 10 acres to explore and enjoy, a picnic area and fire pit near the creek. Great area for birdwatchers.

You may wander the 10 acres, have a picnic by the creek, enjoy a campfire in the pit at the picnic area.

Other things to note
The emergency exit is down the back stairway through the garage. The garage is my personal space, however, you may use the laundry space there. Please use only septic safe laundry detergent.
The driveway is very steep at one point and in winter, snowy weather, it is best if you have 4wd to get here. Chains would be a good idea as well, especially if you have only front wheel drive. The parking space near the loft will accommodate most vehicles, if you bring a large truck with dually wheels, you will need to park up the driveway.

We sit on a hillside overlooking Skagit farmland and beyond that the waters of the Northern Puget Sound and the spectacular San Juan Islands. Turn from the island view east and you will find Mount Baker sitting firmly on the foundation of the Cascade foothills. On clear winter nights, the ski areas above Vancouver, BC are clearly visible. Cattle graze on green fields just below the farm and when the potato harvest is over swans, snow geese and ducks of all kinds feast through the mild winter.

The space
The apartment is in a purpose built oversize two story garage that most refer to as the "barn" even though it has never housed any animals. It is detached from the main house and was built as a temporary home while the main house was under construction. It features a single bedroom with a sitting area, compact kitchen and 3/4 bath. The kitchen has a huge variety of small appliances including a microwave, convection/toaster oven and under counter refrigerator but does not have a full size range. The kitchen is also fully stocked with dishes, glasses, and many types of cook-ware and bake-ware

There is a loveseat in the main room that a child could sleep on but we do not provide bedding for it. Feel free to bring a sleeping bag for the kiddo.

Guest access
You are welcome to wander the property. We have a turn out pasture for travelers with horses so please be respectful of others livestock. The main house is rented to a full time tenants. Please do not bother them.

Other things to note
We provide coffee, tea and hot chocolate. We are not on site except for weekends so please, please, please bring some creamer with you if you require it. Due to covid (and the fact we are not on site) we no longer provide fresh pastries and have adjusted our rate down accordingly.

There is no broadcast TV in our area and we do not have cable TV. We do have a smart TV with internet access and a DVD player with 100 plus movies.

We are just minutes from Edison, with it's unique shops and restaurants.

Riverclay Studio is hidden away in the alley just a few steps from the Skagit River. Edgewater Park and many popular restaurants, pubs, espresso and entertainment opportunities are within walking distance.

It is reached by way of stairs from the back of the original Riverclay Studio which we once ran as a pottery and gallery and was once our home.
Our address is also home to Skagit Valley Larder that operates in the downstairs level of the building.

The space
Appointed for two adult guests. It is a studio apartment with a queen bed, comfortable sofa, full kitchen and bath.

Internet TV which you can connect to your own accounts as well as free streaming services.

Window air conditioner, fans and white noise machine.

Parking for small car at the base of the stairs that give access to the Studio.

We are on a busy alley, sometimes we have to negotiate with neighbors. That means there may be people offloading supplies to the Mexican restaurant, beauty school students taking their smoking breaks, etc.

There is free public parking overnight on the street.

Guest access
The entrance to Riverclay Studio is on the Alley which many people use as a thoroughfare, there are murals on the Alley that are enjoyed by the community.

The parking space reserved for Riverclay guests is tight. Parking is also available in the free parking lot to the north one block. Street parking is 3 hours at a time and there is a meter maid who does her job. However, the parking limit is from 6 AM to 6 PM so overnight parking is free.

We are surrounded by various take out and dining-in options, including Italian, Indian, Thai, Pizza, Korean, Gluten-Free, diners and several pubs that serve really good food.
There are grocery stores three blocks either way on First St, including the Skagit Valley Coop which is a wonderful place to explore.

No laundry facilities sorry. Laundryland is less than a mile away.

Other things to note
Riverclay Studio CANNOT tolerate any type of smoking, vaping or candles.

NO PETS. Sorry.

We are not set up or safe for small children.

NO dying of hair.

Special towel provided for make-up removal.


Downstairs on South First Street is the Skagit Valley Larder, a retail and eating establishment.
Their hours are from 11;00 a.m. to about 7;00 p.m. During the Spring and Summer, we can expect them to be open 7 days a week.

This generally has not been a problem in that most of our guests are in town for local adventures, classes, work or visiting family from out of town which keep them out of the Studio during business hours.

You can expect quiet ambient music downstairs, maybe quiet voices. Perhaps some kitchen sounds.
Note that they can hear you as well.

Welcome to this serene and spacious farmhouse get-away. Located on beautiful south Fidalgo island, you are 7 minutes to Deception Pass bridge, 13 minutes to downtown Anacortes, and 17 minutes to the ferry terminal to the San Juan islands. Curl up with a good book, watch a movie or just relax and enjoy our beautiful view of north Whidbey island and Deception Pass. Our gardens explode in summertime so feel free to wander and pick flowers, fruit or vegetables in season.

The space
We live on an acre in a quiet residential neighborhood close to the beach. You will have about 1000 square feet of living space in a separate daylight basement apartment below us. Be aware that if more than two guests book, the extra guests will need to pass through the main bedroom to get to the bathroom.

Guest access
Plenty of safe parking and just a few blocks to highway 20 to Deception Pass, downtown Anacortes, and Whidbey island. Miles of forest land trails 5-10 minutes away. Parking is on a gravel driveway which leads to a cement walkway (down slope) on the left side of the house to your private entry. No stairs to entry. Inside, there is a shallow step to kitchen and one to the bedroom area.

Other things to note
Twin mattress can be set up in the dining room . There is also a queen sized pull out bed in sofa. Guests more than two are $30 extra each. Be aware that there is only one bathroom off the bedroom so if extra guests are sleeping on sofa or twin mattress, they will have to go through the bedroom to use bathroom.

Other things to note
The apartment entry is accessed via one flight of stairs. So, this is probably not the best option for those who are unable to carry their luggage up a flight of stairs.

Our waterfront apartment has majestic views of Alice Bay. Our private beach is a dynamic tidal flat with the water moving in & out twice daily - always changing. It is central to excellent Skagit Valley birding, scenery, tulips and out door adventure. Private cove for nature lovers; close to hip, historic Edison, restaurants, art galleries; central to Bellingham & Anacortes (30 min), Seattle & Vancouver, BC (90 min each), beautiful walks from your front door. You'll want to come back!

Samish Island is very rural, yet active community. There are two coffee roasters on the island (Ann Stapleton & Samish Island Coffees), Blau Oyster, and Skagit Maid Cremery for artisan cheeses and ice cream. Edison is less than 5 miles away for bakery and restaurant. There is a small grocery store, W-D Foods, 9 miles away with necessities. Burlington is the closest community for full services (full grocery, gas, etc).

Note: We live upstairs in a totally separate part of the house and the studio is adjacent to another unit. We have soundproofed the house as well as we can, but there are normal noises that come with shared living. The studio has one queen sized bed. We don't accept children.

The space
Clean, quaint and modern but very warm atmosphere with all the touches of home that make relaxing easy and fun. Great outdoor spaces in private backyard, playful outside lighting with cozy and relational fire pit. Local wildlife such as bunnies, deer, quail, eagles, hawks are often seen in and around the property.

Guest access
The Studio is in the daylight basement of our home with 9 foot ceilings. The studio is a stand alone part of the house and does not have access to the top floor. The patio outside your huge window has a separate propane fire pit with 2 lounge chairs. There is designated, off street parking area for two studios. You may be sharing a parking area but there is ample room for 2-3 cars. We have two adjacent units that are purposefully soundproofed. This studio is not suitable for infants or children. We do live upstairs so expect footsteps and some unavoidable noise that comes from shared living.

Other things to note
If you have a longer stay you can schedule with host to do laundry upstairs in the residence.

The studio apartment is located at the foot of Mt. Erie overlooking Lake Campbell. Just minutes away from Deception Pass, historic downtown Anacortes, and a short drive to La Conner. Anacortes is the gateway to the San Juan Islands. Enjoy your coffee on the patio watching eagles and other wildlife. Finish the end of your day, sitting next to the fire pit, with a glass of wine watching the sun set.

The space
Clean, spacious, with all the amenities of home. Beautiful private bathroom, walk in shower, adjacent to laundry, and a quiet workspace with internet. Along with a fully equipped kitchen, there is outdoor dining and a gas BBQ available on the back patio.

Guest access
The apartment is located on the bottom floor of our home. The apartment does not have access to the top floor. Guest parking is located directly in front of your private entrance.

Other things to note
This standard studio can accommodate up to four people comfortably. Standard booking price is for two guests, additional guests are $20 per night each.

Need more room and privacy? Please contact us for information about the adjoining King suite room which rents for an additional $40 per night. It includes a king bed, sectional couch and flat screen TV. This adjoining room is only available when renting our standard studio, not available separately. Note: Our living quarters are above the apartment, although we live in totally separate space, there are common noises.

Our house sits on 1 acre. My wife and I spent the last year working weekends building our shop with the 2 bedroom ADU. We put everything into this place. Each bedroom has a queen size bed and porch access. There’s a table and 2 chairs to take in the morning sun sipping on your coffee. There’s a Bbq and 4 seat table at ground level under covered area. Just installed 2 phase ev charger. 50 amp service. 38 mile per charge hour.
