Our vacation rental is a lovely daylight basement apartment with large windows and beautiful views of Sequim Bay. The home was built in 2008 to take advantage of the gorgeous water views from every room. Quiet is the key word here.

It is perfect for couples and is pet friendly. It is not fenced.
There is a charge of $25.00 per pet.

There are two bedrooms, one with a king bed, the second bedroom has a queen and a single, extra-long twin bed. There is a nice, full bath & shower with granite counter top.

The living room has a nice sofa with Amazon streaming Firestick TV, (no cable). Wifi is available.

The Loft was designed and created by us for those of you looking for the ultimate getaway. Here you can relax in privacy, and feel pampered while enjoying up-scale amenities, unobstructed views, and peaceful, natural surroundings.

Situated at the head of Sequim Bay at approx. 450 ft. elevation, The Loft offers a panoramic view of Sequim Bay, the Strait of Juan de Fuca, the San Juan Islands and Mt. Baker. The view of the Strait provides an ever-changing view of many ocean bound ships. (We provide binoculars for you to enjoy the activity a bit closer up.)

The Loft is approximately 500 square feet in size and is the second story of a completely separate building on the property. Our home is also on the property, however, the purposeful orientation of the two separate buildings allows for total privacy for our guests.

There is a gated entrance leading to the backside of the building housing The Loft. There you will find towering evergreens and a wonderful, perfectly private patio with a hot tub, gas BBQ, and an outdoor dining table. It is not uncommon to have eagles flying overhead and deer in the lower grassy area.

We originally envisioned building this space for our family and friends to use while visiting. So we wanted it to be very special even from the beginning. As the project progressed, we decided to offer it as a vacation rental as well.

We decorated The Loft using vibrant and inviting colors. We used natural slate, granite, a heated tile floor in the bath, upscale fixtures and solid cherry woodwork/trim throughout to accomplish our vision. One of our favorite features in The Loft is the gas fireplace. Surrounded with natural slate tiles it has a hand crafted mantle of solid cherry and truly is 'one of a kind'.

We planned the furniture and fireplace arrangement so that the fireplace, wall mounted HDTV, and straight on view of Sequim Bay can all be enjoyed from the comfort of the bed! We also installed 'stealth' stereo speakers in the walls...they are invisible! The balcony of The Loft overlooks the bay and is a wonderful place to just 'be'.

We are in a gated community comprised of five-acre properties. Ours is located on the top of the hill, at the end of a cul-de-sac. It is the last of only three homes situated on the street.

We feel we accomplished our goal of creating a very special place, and are pleased to offer it for your stay in Sequim. Our central location on the north end of the Olympic Peninsula makes this a great place to stay while enjoying the numerous activities available in the area.

The Olympics are the backdrop of one of the most favored pastoral settings on the Olympic Peninsula. You will be 1 mile from the Straight of Juan De Fuca and 1 mile from the Olympic Discovery Trail. RENTAL AGREEMENT
This agreement is made between SEQUIM VALLEY PROPERTIES LLC and the "Renter". This Agreement is a condition for rental. The cancellation and refund policy is in effect from the time of reservation invoice. Renters who do not comply with the rental policies, as described below, may be asked to leave immediately without a refund and may incur additional fees for cleaning, damages and/or loss.

PRIVACY STATEMENT: Renter information will be used solely for stated purpose and will not be sold or shared with any other party.

RENTAL SUMMARY: Sequim Valley Properties LLC agrees to provide the use of the rental property named for the specified time period and costs; subject to the terms, conditions, policies and information stated in this Agreement. The rental property shall be used only for the residence and no illegal purposes or activities. The Renters shall not sublet the vacation rental property. Channel bookings (Airbnb, VRBO, etc.) will pay the full amount at booking. Guest web bookings will pay 50% at reservation and the balance is charged when you are within 30 days of your arrival.

NUMBER OF GUESTS: All overnight guests should be included in your party information. Additional guests on property for a daytime event must be approved by Sequim Valley Properties LLC.

DAMAGE AND THEFT POLICY: Damages and/or theft that results during the rental party stay or Renter negligence will be assessed at actual labor and replacements costs and charged to the Renter. Any loss of rental income due to such damage or theft will be automatically charged to the Renter. Renters are responsible for the security of the property during their stay. Close and lock all doors when property will be unattended. Renters are expected to take reasonable measures to prevent damage and/or theft during their stay.

GOOD NEIGHBOR POLICY: All rental properties are located in residential family communities. It is essential that all renters and guests respect the privacy of their neighbors - no trespassing on neighboring properties, no loud events, and pets (if present) should be controlled, quiet, and picked up after. General quiet hours are from 8 PM to 8 AM.

HOT TUB AND POOL POLICY: For rental properties with hot tubs, it is the Renters responsibility to ensure they are maintained in a safe, clean and sanitary condition during the Renter stay. Hot tubs will be adjusted and cleaned prior to possession of rental. If the hot tub is left dirty at the end of the stay a charge to dump, clean and refill the tub will be charged to renters credit card. The Renters are responsible for keeping the cover installed and cover hold down straps secured at all times when the hot tubs are not in use, and at the end of their stay. Showering and removing beach sand from the feet before entering the pool or hot tub will help keep water clean.

SMOKING POLICY: All rental properties are NON-SMOKING properties. Do NOT smoke inside any of the rental homes. Please smoke only 25 feet away from any open door or window and dispose of cigarette butts responsibly in a closed container that you can remove with you at departure. If there is evidence that smoking occured within the rental home a $250 charge will be charged to the Renter.

OUTSIDE BURNING: Is prohibited when a burn ban is in effect. If the home is equipped with a metal fire pit or a built in fire pit then a small recreational fire is permitted, unless there is a general no outdoor burning ban posted by the local fire department. All wood burned must be dry and seasoned. Renters are responsible for bringing their own wood. Here are the rules for recreational fires in our county:
There is a burn ban every year from July 1 to October 1 (weather permitting) when no outdoor burning is allowed except for Recreational Fires as per the rules.

RECREATIONAL FIRES: "Recreational fire" means cooking fires, campfires, and bonfires 3 feet or less in diameter using charcoal or seasoned firewood that are designated areas or on private property for cooking, pleasure, or ceremonial purposes. Recreational fires shall not be any larger than three (3) feet in diameter or two (2) feet in height. The Recreational Fire must be located a minimum of fifty (50) feet from any structure. Portable fireplaces/pits, usually metal, must be located a minimum of fifteen (15) feet from any structure or combustible material. Fires used for debris disposal are not considered recreational fires. Clallam County Fire District 3 does not require a written burn permit for recreational fires less than three (3) feet in diameter and less than two (2) feet in height. Recreational fires shall have a shovel, connected water hose or five (5) gallons of water in a bucket on site, and a responsible person shall be in attendance at the fire until it is extinguished.

TELEPHONE POLICY: Most of our properties no longer have house phones. If there is one at the house you are staying at, use your calling card or cell phone for all non-local calls. Any non-local calls will be charged to the Tenant’s credit card along with an additional processing fee of $25.

CHECK-OUT POLICY: Check-out is 10:00 a.m. on the day of departure. Prior to final departure, dispose of rubbish, garbage, and wastes in the designated receptacles. Please tidy the kitchen including washing dishes, utensils, stove top, oven and counter tops.

KEY RETURN POLICY: Most properties are on a key code system. Renters will receive their key code or instructions on where to get a physical key via email upon confirmation of reservation. Failure to return all keys will result in a $125 lock set replacement fee that will be automatically charged to renter.

SUBSTITUTION POLICY: Unexpected situations not related to the Renter`s actions may occur where the reserved rental property becomes unavailable for the Renters use. Examples include but are not limited to fire, flooding, equipment problems, change of ownership, unsafe conditions, etc. In the unlikely event a rental property becomes unavailable, Sequim Valley Properties LLC will make all reasonable attempts to re-book the Renter into another comparable rental property or provide a 100% refund and assist the Renters in finding other suitable accommodations in the Sequim area. The Renter(s) agree to release Sequim Valley Properties LLC from any and all costs and claims incurred by the Renter(s) due to rental property unavailability.

REPORTING POLICY: The Renter(s) are responsible for immediately reporting any damages or thefts, which occur to the rental property, to Sequim Valley Properties LLC. If at check-in you suspect existing damages or possible thefts, immediately notify Sequim Valley Properties LLC at the main office: (360)683-3565.

ACCESS POLICY: Sequim Valley Properties LLC staff and/or assigned repair persons shall have the right to enter the rental property for inspection, repairs, servicing, cleaning and laundering. Access shall be limited to reasonable times except in case of emergency or abandonment.

RELEASE OF LIABILITY: The Renter(s) agree to hold Sequim Valley Properties LLC and/or the rental property owner harmless in the event of any act by the Renter(s) that results in the injury or financial loss to Renter(s) occurring on the rental property. Additionally, the Renters agree to use any stairways and/or the trails to beaches at their own risk and furthermore agrees to hold harmless Sequim Valley Properties LLC and/or the rental property owner if any injury or financial loss occurs to the Renters while using trails, stairs, beaches, tidelands, hot tubs, pools, or the rental property.

OTHER PROVISIONS: The representative for Renter(s) entering into this rental agreement is at least 21 years of age and has the capacity to enter into legal agreements. Any persons less than 21 years of age included in the Renters party are accompanied and represented by a responsible adult guardian who is at least 21 years of age. This agreement will be governed by the laws of the state of Washington. If any legal action is necessary to enforce this Agreement, the prevailing party shall be entitled to reasonable attorney fees, costs and expenses in addition to any relief to which he or she may be entitled.

The Host resides in main house on 1.25 acre property. This is a small, detached, studio cottage 192sqft (queen bed in common living area, but separate bathroom). It has it's own private gate & entrance. Shared driveway has 2 dedicated guest parking spots. We have a huge, secluded back yard (shared with host); fully fenced. You may occasionally see us doing landscaping chores in the yard. We respect your privacy. No need to interact unless you wish to.

The studio cottage, front porch, hot tub with privacy curtains, and private adjoining brick patio are exclusively for guests. There are 2 dedicated guest parking spots in the shared driveway. Large back yard (shared) is fully fenced and available for guest use. Feel free to wander around the garden, but please ask host before picking any berries or fruit (when in season). The main house deck is not available for guest use. You may occasionally see us doing yard maintenance. No need to interact if you don't wish to. We try to minimize yard maintenance, but all those trees, flowers and plants are soooo demanding! :-)

Lots of fruit and berries and I’m happy to share with guests. Please check with host before picking berries/fruit, as I use the fruit to make my own wine and preserves.

⫸ Hot Water
This is a tiny home that has it's own, dedicated (30gal) hot water tank. However, the hot water is not "limitless" (like you might find in a hotel or large home). Please be mindful of your hot water usage and keep showering times short.

⫸ Pets Live on Property
We have 3 dogs (Duke, Sissy and "Miss Kitty") and 3 cats (they let us live here :-) You may see them in the yard from time to time.

⫸ Accessibility
Accessible for those who use a cane, or have difficulty with stairs. One level with no steps/stairs from the parking area to the Cottage front door. Paths to Cottage grass or mulch, relatively flat and lit at night. The parking area is gravel and flat. The hot tub has 2 steps. Not accessible for wheelchairs (and possibly walkers) as limited space to maneuver inside.

⫸ Fire Pit
We provide a small amount of wood for each guest. The fire pit may not be available if total fire burn bans are in effect (usually July-Sept). You may still use the propane BBQ grill, as long as it is at least 5' from any vegetation.

⫸ Laundry Service
May be available for a small addl fee. There is a laundromat close by in town.

Our gardens/yard are naturally only in full bloom only in the summer months

⫸ Wildlife & Insects (Rural Area)
This is a rural cottage surrounded by mature gardens. It is a native habitat for all manner of wildlife and insects. This includes deer, herons, eagles, coyotes, raccoons and insects. We conduct regular pest control and inspections, but can't guarantee you won't see an insect or two inside (we try to keep them out, but they're persistent "buggers" :-) Please don't leave food out or dirty dishes in the sink as it attracts insects inside the Cottage.

•Hot tub - Hours 8am-10pm. Follow all instructions for hot tub use. Guest use of hot tub means you are doing so entirely at your own risk.
•Security Cameras - For guest security, we have two, outward-facing, exterior cameras that actively record audio/video if motion is detected. Ring doorbell views the main house front door/parking area. Spotlight camera is at the Cottage entrance. Cameras must remain unobstructed and not tampered with or disconnected.
•If a maintenance issue or other problem arises during a stay, primary renter shall notify the Host via Vrbo message when encountered prior to checkout. Primary renter authorizes entry into home (we'll coordinate with you) during stay to address said issues if needed.
•Report Any Damages - We understand accidents happen. Please let us know via Vrbo message if something gets stained, breaks, or is damaged (when it happens) during your stay. This will enable us to ensure everything is in working order for our next guests.

Highlights : 1/2 mile walk to town for bakery, Rainshadow coffee, and farmers market. Nice shampoo, shower gel and lotion. Onl the downside: multiple requests beyond the VRBO forms including a security request form required prior to confirmation. One night I did not have hot water for a shower. It was warm and only happened when another car was parked at the residence. I would recommend a clock in the room for convenience."

We are in a quiet family neighborhood and a few minutes off HWY 101, super easy to hop on or off the main road. Hurricane Ridge, Dungeness Spit, Lavender Farms galore are a short drive away. So much to explore and do here.

The space
Small attached apartment with separate entrance and parking. Covered porch with outdoor seating and access to BBQ. Small kitchenette has microwave, induction cook top, refrigerator and coffee maker. Little living room area has TV and couch, and table for two. We have WiFi , cable, netflix, amazon prime and a large collection of DVD's. Bathroom has large shower and heated floor. King size bed and large closet, extra blankets under bed if needed. You can park right outside your entrance, no stairs. Our kitchen/living room shares a wall with the flat, however our bedroom/2nd living room is upstairs and opposite side of house, so no need to worry about being super quiet or having the TV on or playing music. We have coffee pods, creamer, snacks , bottled water, and a few cooking essentials. We are happy to lend you cooking supplies if needed while you stay. Please inquire if you have additional people wanting to stay.

The Studio is equipped with a toaster, referigerator, microwave, Keurig coffee maker, teapot and all the utentils and dishes you need. We do not have a full stove. An electric skillet is provided.

A booklet is provided giving information on the Studio and surrounding amenities. You may want to refer to it for information on the European style toilet and using the AC/heating remote.

We like to work with our guests on availability for check-in and out times. 3 pm check-in and 11 am check-out is our preferred times; however, we will do everything to accommodate some flexibility if at all possible.

There is some traffic to the Nature Center going by during the day, but it is completely quiet at night. We are on the corner of two dead end roads. The Dungeness River is about 300 yards away. The Nature Center is the gateway to the Railroad Bridge across the river and part of the Olympic Discovery Trail.

We will welcome you with fresh bread and wine or a non-alcoholic beverage if you prefer.

Both venues give you the opportunity to make coffee, or tea and heat or cook a meal in the microwave. Dishes are supplied. The studio also has hot plates and cooking utensils.

Newly built bed and breakfast upstairs over the historical building below.
The farm unit is the original section, built in 1912, remodeled in 2023.
