The Space:
Built in 1922, as a grocery store to service the Richmond Beach neighborhood, this property is one of a handful of buildings remaining from that time and the only registered historic property in the neighborhood.

This light-filled spacious apartment has two queen beds, two full baths, and a gourmet kitchen with a full-size oven, microwave, as well as refrigerator, and BBQ/tools for outdoor dining. It also includes fast Wi-Fi, though we don’t think you’ll need it with all the scenery around.

It is within easy walking distance to beaches, parks, playgrounds, tennis courts, corner stores, coffee shops, and restaurants. It’s also a short walk to Richmond Beach Saltwater Park (a local hidden gem). Hop in your car and it’s an easy drive to all the best the northwest has to offer such as hiking, sailing, climbing, etc.

Winter visits will also give you access to three ski resorts less than 3 hours away. Don’t feel like driving? The bus stop is less than a block away!

Orca Haven is surrounded by whales, orcas to be exact! Orcas are known to some Indigenous communities as the guardians of the sea. To some people, orcas represent the strength of love and the bonds of family because of their strong group behavior. The orca is a symbol associated with luck, compassion, and family.

Inspired by the ongoing survival of resident Salish Sea orcas, the Richmond Beach Community Association (RBCA) commissioned 22 artists from around the region to each create an orca whale sculpture for outdoor display. Each fiberglass whale measures 43 inches wide x 20 inches tall. The whales share their beauty from May through October each year when pods of 2 or 3 gather at various locations around the Richmond Beach community. We encourage you to find them all! In fact, there is a pod of 3 whales directly across the street from this unit.

There are 16 stairs to reach the 2nd floor. Please be careful, the top step is not the same height as the rest.

As you walk in you will notice the bedroom to your left with a queen size bed and the washer and dryer inside of the room for easy access. Across the hall you will notice a large bathroom with plenty of space and storage shelves.

Further down the hall you will be in the large living room that is surrounded by light with larger windows and a open space concept with a nice kitchen next to it.

You will also see the large window screen door to access the patio with some nice outdoor furniture.

The fully stocked kitchen is accompanied by a nice dining room area with a 4 person table.

Lastly the living room had plenty of seating with a couch and some reading chairs. Along with a smart TV.

Absolutely NO smoking is allowed inside the apartment or on the balcony.
Smoking is permitted in designated outdoor areas only.
Violation of this policy will result in a $250 fine for cleaning and odor removal.

3. Noise Policy

Quiet hours are from 10:00 PM to 8:00 AM.
Please be considerate of neighbors and keep noise levels to a minimum during quiet hours.
No loud parties or events are allowed.
Excessive noise complaints may result in a warning, followed by a $150 fine for each subsequent violation.

4. Maximum Occupancy

The apartment is designed to accommodate a maximum number of guests as indicated in the listing. Do not exceed this limit, as it may result in eviction without a refund.

5. Pets

Pets are allowed in the apartment. But have to be included in the booking. Bringing pets without them being included in the booking, will include a $300 charge per pet, per violation.

6. Kitchen Use

Please clean up after using the kitchen and all appliances.
Dishes and cookware must be washed and put away.
Dispose of any food items before check-out.

7. Damages and Missing Items

Guests are responsible for any damages to the apartment or missing items during their stay. Please report any damages or missing items to us immediately.

8. Garbage and Recycling

Please follow local guidelines for separating and disposing of garbage and recycling. Trash should be placed in the designated bins in the building.

9. Respect for Neighbors

Please be respectful and considerate of the residents in the building.

Relax in our newly remodeled studio apartment in the tranquil Richmond Beach area of Shoreline, just north of Seattle. Enjoy a short stroll to Richmond Beach Saltwater Park, local coffee shops, and neighborhood dining. Quick drives lead to QFC, Fred Meyer, and the YMCA. Explore charming Edmonds nearby, with ferry access to Whidbey Island. Our studio features a private entrance, fully equipped kitchen, bathroom, a parking spot, and patio for added convenience.

Enter our studio through a private entrance on the side of the main house, and arrive in a welcoming entry space with plenty of storage and lots of room for your shoes and clothes. From the entrance room, you enter the studio which is light filled with windows all around. It is one large space with a fully equipped kitchen, a TV, a full bed, comfy couch, and an eating area. Separated by a sliding door you'll find a bathroom with a toilet, a shower and a vanity. From the studio you have access to a private, covered patio.
The studio has a minisplit heating/airconditioning system built in. A washing machine and dryer are available and located next to the studio's entry room.

Guests enter through a private, separate entrance down a short flight of stairs from the back of the house, where you’ll also find two designated parking spots.

Guest access
Private entrance located at the back of the house with a provided guest code. Guests may park in the designated gravel space near the large tree and enter by walking down the back staircase. Signage for “1314B” guides you directly to the entry.

Other things to note
Laundry detergent and Bounce dryer sheets are located in the lower cabinet just as you enter the kitchen.

A fire extinguisher and first aid kit can be found in the upper cabinet near the same entry point.

Dishwasher pods are stored under the kitchen sink.

Extra linens are available for your comfort:

In the king bedroom, they’re on the upper shelf of the closet.

In the queen bedroom, they’re in the drawer on the left side under the bed.

The king-size bed features adjustable tilt and massage modes for a more customized sleep experience.

Registered as a historic landmark in King County WA, this stunning ocean and mountain view unit is perfectly situated in the peaceful, quiet, and desirable neighborhood of Richmond Beach.

Relax and soak it all up outside from the oversized deck or inside looking out through extra-large picture windows of this cozy home away from home!!!

Enjoy blue herons and bald eagles flying overhead, orca whales dancing in the Puget Sound, the gorgeous mountain & water view, plus the breathtaking sunsets!

The space
Built in 1922, as a grocery store to service the Richmond Beach neighborhood, this property is one of a handful of buildings remaining from that time and the only registered historic property in the neighborhood.

This light-filled spacious apartment has two queen beds, two full baths, and a gourmet kitchen with a full-size oven, microwave, as well as refrigerator, and BBQ/tools for outdoor dining. It also includes fast Wi-Fi, though we don’t think you’ll need it with all the scenery around.

It is within easy walking distance to beaches, parks, playgrounds, tennis courts, corner stores, coffee shops, and restaurants. It’s also a short walk to Richmond Beach Saltwater Park (a local hidden gem). Hop in your car and it’s an easy drive to all the best the northwest has to offer such as hiking, sailing, climbing, etc.

Winter visits will also give you access to three ski resorts less than 3 hours away. Don’t feel like driving? The bus stop is less than a block away!

Orca Haven is surrounded by whales, orcas to be exact! Orcas are known to some Indigenous communities as the guardians of the sea. To some people, orcas represent the strength of love and the bonds of family because of their strong group behavior. The orca is a symbol associated with luck, compassion, and family.

Inspired by the ongoing survival of resident Salish Sea orcas, the Richmond Beach Community Association (RBCA) commissioned 22 artists from around the region to each create an orca whale sculpture for outdoor display. Each fiberglass whale measures 43 inches wide x 20 inches tall. The whales share their beauty from May through October each year when pods of 2 or 3 gather at various locations around the Richmond Beach community. We encourage you to find them all! In fact, there is a pod of 3 whales directly across the street from this unit.

Guest access
There are 16 stairs to reach the 2nd floor. Please be careful, the top step is not the same height as the rest.

Please park on the gravel lot west of the house.
