And we used our baby monitor to be able to enjoy a quiet hot tub for ourselves one night. We used these amenities because we felt so welcome in the home. A shared home, but still private enough to feel like we had our own space and they could still enjoy their home without being disturbed by our young family. We really hope to be back again soon! A bright and brand new self-contained guest suite located in the beautiful town of Sooke. Start your hike right outside our door and enjoy the fantastic rain forest and wildlife the area offers. The suite is situated less than 3 km away from the town center with restaurants and shopping opportunity. It is a new suite and has a fully equipped kitchen including a selection of coffee, tea, hot chocolate as well as olive oil and basic spices for cooking.
Our guest suite is also a great starting point for biking as well as mountain biking, kayak tours, zip lining, whale watching, surfing or just a relaxing visit at the spa.
You will have endless opportunities for the best hiking in the world. It is a short drive to explore the area such as spectacular coast hiking in East Sooke Park or breathtaking Mystic Beach. If you want to explore the city of Victoria it is only a 45 min travel by car. Or you can just come to recharge and relax with a great book or a good movie on our cozy couch.
We are here to help you and make your stay unforgettable. You can also book your host for a guided hiking tour so you don't need to worry about anything. We speak fluently English and German. This is a private apartment with a private entrance etc. You will have the entire apartment to yourself and your (guest(s). The suite offers an ideal space for 2 people with a queen size bed Quiet neighborhood.
1 bedroom vacation rental. living room has 42 inch flat screen TV, Telus Optik TV, wi-fi, sofa, love seat and a chaise. The guest suite is located in the lower level of our house.
Bedroom: queen memory foam bed. dresser, night table. Suite sleeps two people sharing.
Kitchen: coffee maker, toaster, kettle, microwave, stove, full size fridge with freezer compartment, pots & pans, skillet, rice cooker, blender, glasses, cups, plates, cutlery, chopping board, right down to the salt and pepper shakers.
Bathroom: The bathtub is fitted with a shower. blow dryer, towels.
Shopping: It is a 10 minute walk to the bus stop that takes you to downtown Victoria. 10 to 12 minute walk or 2 minute drive to shopping, coffee shops, banks, restaurants, thrift stores, grocery stores, gym, rec center, museum, kayaking, parks, and . . we are home to the famous "Sooke Harbor House." 8 minute drive to Whiffin Spit and a 15 minute drive to the Sooke potholes.

We are 5 mins from Ed McGregor Park, follow the winding wooden boardwalk through oceanside rainforest to Sooke’s spectacular 300-metre pier. Watch locals fishing for crabs, spy harbor seals and breathe in views of the Sooke Basin and Olympic Mountains

Don't be surprised if you see an Otter, or Black Bear crossing the yard! Climb down to the beach via our stairway, stopping along the way, on one of the multiple decks with some refreshments, if you like. Or, just sit on those decks and listen to the multiple birds, all singing their hearts out. Close to all hiking trails, boat launch tours for fishing or whale watching. Blackout curtains and shutters provide for a late morning wake up if needed.

Our guests can follow our paths right to the beach and our dock.

We designed our 'Forever Home' in 2019 and began construction in a global pandemic. Delays were constant, adjustments had to be made and when we took possession in April of 2021, the list of things to do was endless. However, we finally completed our beautiful private patio where you can BBQ while dining al fresco under our fabulous gazebo. This private, open-concept upstairs suite is a hidden gem tucked away in the downtown-core of beautiful Sooke, BC. Walk out the front door into the heart of town, to artisanal shops, cafes, restaurants, transit, and parks. The space
This home is a private upstairs 2 bedroom, 1 bathroom suite. The open-concept floor plan and many windows keep the space feeling bright and welcoming. Or, draw the blinds for a cozier feeling. This home is smoke-free and pet friendly.
The full kitchen contains all the tools and equipment needed for cooking meals, including a gas stove and full-size fridge/freezer.
The kitchen flows into the comfortable living room with a TV perfect for movie nights, and the combined dining space.
The primary bedroom features a king-size bed and the second bedroom contains a queen-size bed.
The full bathroom has a combination shower/bath and in-suite laundry facilities.

Kick back and relax in this calm, stylish space. This above the garage, private space overlooks a pond and the Sooke Hills. Located near beautiful hiking trails and tons of recreation makes it an ideal location. Like to sleep late? The bedroom boasts blackout curtains so you can keep out the morning sun, or open them up and let the sun wake you, it's your choice. Enjoy strong wifi and cable on a smart TV, or keep it off and read one of the many books. Now enjoy the comfort of a heat pump!
The space
The bedroom has a Queen Size bed, a dresser, side table, full closet and blackout curtains with blinds. In a pinch, there is a cot in the front closet that can be used for an additional person or if the bed isn't to be shared.
There are full laundry facilities in the closet beside the bathroom. There are instructions for use on top of the dryer.
The kitchen is well stocked and should have everything but the food, to create great meals. If you feel something is lacking, please let us know.
The living room has a great entertainment unit and you can access apps through the Smart TV, the Telus box, or even choose DVDs from the collection. The free WIFI has a booster to ensure good reception. There is information on how to use the remote controls to access everything you need. Not interested in electronics, select one of the many books to read or go outside and explore Sooke.

Access to the suite is through a gate to the left of the garage as you face the house. There is a staircase with 16 stairs leading to the suite. People with small children or mobility concerns should be aware.
The patio area with a BBQ and umbrella table are yours to enjoy. We will have a metal gate at the back of the patio to keep our dog from entering your oasis, please do not remove this gate.
The access code for the lock will be provided the evening before arrival.

The suite is located above our garage and, as such, there is a staircase leading up to the suite
There is a heat pump unit in the suite which is connected to three units in our home. All 4 units need to be on the same setting (auto, dehumidifier, cold or heat) and we will control this setting to ensure they all work. Please use the up and down arrows to select your preferred temperature. If you feel it is not set for what you want, please ask us to change it (we will happily do so). Opening windows can also cool the place quickly and the electric fireplace provides a nice ambiance with a strong fan to heat the suite if the heat pump won’t do what you want it to.

Our property is approximately one acre on Sooke Harbour, with beach access. The suite is contained in a separate accessory building, across the driveway from our residence. This one bedroom suite is on the second level and includes a fully equipped kitchen with eating bar, living room, bathroom and laundry room (for stays longer than 4 days). There is a large deck off the living room with a barbeque, seating area and dining area. There is also a separate deck on the ground level with four adirondack chairs.
The town of Sooke is a 5 minute drive. There are grocery stores, shops, restaurants, brewery and kayak and paddle board rentals, in town. Whale watching is available nearby.
The suite is also a 5 minute walk to the world famous Sooke Harbour House and Whiffin Spit park.
