Away from the bustle of the city, this hideaway is a marvelous location for nature exploration, exercise, relaxation, or a retreat to do creative work. It is a quiet self-catering, self-contained Bed and Breakfast one bedroom suite, located in a contemporary country beach community home. It has all the amenities of comfort and then some.
Location, Location, Location!
Your suite is a 10 minute drive from the Lansdale Ferry, and downtown Gibsons’ shops, restaurants, artists studios and entertainment.
This is a perfect home base for exploring the coast, enjoying runs, walks and bike rides. The gentle environment is filled with birdlife, including jays, woodpeckers, gulls, eagles and humming birds.
Only a 0.3 km walk away is Gibson’s Ocean Beach Esplanade trail. The path is a five mile round trip loop from our front door. The Esplanade is along the waterfront, with public beach access, frequent benches, packed dirt for low impact running or walking, and black top for biking. Chaster Park is located along the Esplanade and is a popular destination for picnics, and beach combing, especially at low tide. The area is a frequent sight for weddings, romantic getaways and meditation. Two playgrounds are within a few minutes walk for those families that want outdoor entertainment close by.
Gibsons also is the site of the K2, or Knob Trail — which is an intermediate trail leading to Mount Elphinstone, and the 26 mile bike loop of Mount Elphinstone Provincial Park.
Kayak launching is available at Gibson harbor, and other nearby water sport venues.

A spacious, elegantly appointed, bedroom and bath is separate from the living room, dining room and wall of windows and doors leading to a private deck. These chambers overlook southwestern ocean and mountain views, pine, deciduous trees, fruit, and flower gardens. The French contemporary designed kitchen is complete with island, full refrigerator, microwave, stove, cookware, coffee/tea set up, and table settings.

The suite has a separate entrance, parking space, and laundry access. There is an entertainment center with books, games, CD player, TV with cable and Netflix and Free WIFI. All bedding and linens are included in the rate. Along with the Queen Size bed, a double pull out sofa bed in the living room expands the sleeping space to four.

The kitchen was designed by the Sunshine Coast's Dave Coyle antiques and reproductions. A spectacular sunrise ocean view greets you each morning. You feel as if you are in a birds nest!
The shower, toilet and laundry facilities for the Catnip Cabin are in a separate building accessed by a dirt path. This path is for the sure footed as it is sloped.
There is a basket with a towel and face cloths proved for each guest to bring with them. You may want to bring a bath robe!

Welcome to our cozy loft in upper Gibsons. Snuggle up with a cup of coffee in the morning and watch the deer in the meadow, then take a scenic 10 minute walk down Inglis Trail to Lower Gibsons for some sight seeing and shopping. We are a quick drive to any of the beautiful local beaches and are within walking distance to local restaurants, coffee shops, and grocery stores. We offer a full kitchen with coffee and tea available, a full bathroom, with a washer & dryer and air conditioning.
The space
The loft is on the second floor of the building so there is a set of stairs to climb to gain access around the rear of the building. The loft is a studio apartment so the kitchen/living-room/bedroom are one main room. We always make sure there is coffee and tea in the kitchen, along with laundry detergent for the washer and dryer. If you have any allergies to certain cleaners, fragrances or detergents please let us know in advance and we will be happy to accommodate. Our bedding and pillows are a down alternative and the sheets are cotton. Our water is from the local aquifer and in 2005 won best drinking water in the world from Berkeley Spring International Water Tasting Contest.

Bed and Beachcomber is a 600sf industrial loft studio suite perched above Beachcomber Coffee in the heart of Gibsons Landing on the Sunshine Coast, BC. The space boasts 10' ceilings with a private deck and partial mountain/ocean views. The suite is walking distance to everything in Lower GIbsons. Bed & Beachcomber was renovated including all new everything in August 2019. Note: the coffee shops opens at 7am below but staff are there earlier to open up shop and music might be on below before 7!

Note: there’s a commercial development across the street which has obstructed some of the view.
Bed and Beachcomber is located directly above Beachcomber Coffee's flagship location. It's in the epicenter of of Gibsons Landing on the Sunshine Coast, BC. Full disclosure, the coffee shop hours below the space are 7am-5pm, and you may hear music down below before 7am.
The loft has a bathroom with shower (no tub), a kitchen (no oven or hot plate), king bed, futon, work desk + chair, dining set, and a deck with two bistro sets. It has 10’ ceilings and is a large open space fully renovated with all brand new furniture within the last 3 years.
French doors provide access to a large covered deck area overlooking Gibsons Landing - you’re presented with views of the ocean and mountains as well as prime people watching!
There is no TV in the space but high-speed internet from TELUS is available.

Oct 2022: There’s a commercial building in development across the street, Monday-Friday during regular hours, we’ve had multiple guests stay without issues or complaints, however, the view is partially obstructed by this new development.
Pets are allowed, however, you need to ensure you include the pet fee in your booking and specify whether you’re bringing a pet. There is a strict no pets on furniture please and thank you!
The parking lot is a bit tight as it’s shared with 2 other commercial units but there’s additional parking options noted in check-in instructions.
Music might be on between 630-7am due to staff opening the coffee shop below.
If you need to use the futon as a 2nd bed, please let us know upon booking or two days before your arrival as we do not store extra bedding onsite!

The space
My home is located in Lower Gibsons with a beautiful view to the inner harbour and Keats Island. It boasts several decks and seating areas, sun and shade. It is a 5 minute walk to the town centre and all its restaurants, shops, bars, art gallery and many more amenities. The boardwalk is less than 10 minutes to walk to and will take you along the waterfront and to sandy beaches should you like to dip your toes in the water. There are many scenic hikes nearby and more beaches and vistas available within minutes for those that have a vehicle. For those using the bus, it stops 2 blocks away both coming from and going to the ferry and also to take trips further afield towards or to Sechelt and beyond!

Guests have access to the suite through a separate and private entrance. They also have a separate and private deck to enjoy ~ weather permitting of course.
My property is open to be enjoyed by all and has multiple choices for taking in the view, relaxing under the trees or catching some sun.
Other things to note
There is parking available at the property. Should you wish more than coffee and tea available in your suite for your arrival I am happy to accommodate this so you can relax upon arriving. If you are looking for some special touches in your get away ~ just ask! I love to make people feel like the experience is special for them :)
Examples are chilled champagne, oysters, perhaps a charcuterie board, flowers... it's up to you!

Relax and take in the stunning views of Howe Sound and the North Shore Mountains from our spacious 2 bedroom apartment. Enjoy the ever-changing scene with boats, birds and marine life and maybe spot a whale. Deer wander through the yard and sometime a fawn can be seen hiding below. Conveniently located in a peaceful neighbourhood, Gibsons Public Market, the marina and two beaches are a 5 minute walk down the hill. Restaurants and shops are a 10 minute stroll along the waterfront.
The space
Our spacious self-contained apartment has a comfortable living space, kitchen/dining area, full bathroom, and two large queen bedrooms. There is an outside deck with chairs and a beautiful ocean view.

Lower Gibsons offers a variety of food and drink options including the famous Molly's Reach (Beachcombers TV Series), Tapworks Brewing, Smitty's Oyster Shack, Lunitas Mexican, Gramma's Pub and more. Choices range from fine dining to classic pub fare. There are many local attractions including the marina, Sunshine Coast Museum, Art Galleries, Gibsons Public Market with its Marine Education Centre and Emile's award-winning Bistro, as well as hiking and mountain bike trails, paddle boards and kayaks for rent and beaches to explore. Upper Gibsons has several grocery stores, a London Drugs and more restaurants including the 101 Brewhouse and Distillery. There is also the Heritage Playhouse, a rec centre, swimming pool and cinema. Further afield Roberts Creek, Davis Bay and Sechelt have plenty to explore and there are marinas, a golf course, lakes, hiking trails and amazing views to be found all along the coast.
The Sunshine Coast is home to it's own Botanical Gardens, Dakota Ridge Ski Area, the Suncoaster Trail and Tetrahedron Park.
