The cottage and hot tub are sanitized between each use according to the BC Centre for Disease Control. All linens and towels are washed on the sanitized cycle.

Due to the nature of the terrain, the property is only suited for adults. No pets or smoking on the property please. We provide scent free shower products.

This is an intimate cottage on the ocean. You can fish for salmon and halibut, kayak among seals, mountain bike as far as you like, surf , go whale watching or enjoy a quiet evening in the hot tub or in front of the indoor fireplace.

We have a 1.2 acre south facing property on Sooke Basin, a protected bay off of the Pacific. It's salt water but you'd think that it was a lake. Calm as a mill pond most days. You'll wake to the sounds of ducks, geese, swans, eagles and snorting seals.

We're located in Saseenos which is in a microclimate known to have the sunniest and mildest winters in Canada.

The cottage is set on an oceanfront corner of our property, with the main house set further back and on the other side of a fence. Although this is a shared property, you'll have lots of privacy.

The cottage is suitable for a maximum of 2 adults. The bedroom has a queen bed. The main room consists of a kitchen, dining and living room. The kitchen is fully stocked with everything you need to cook, except food. Coffee and tea are provided. There is a dishwasher. The bathroom has a soaker tub and a separate shower. Linens and towels are provided. There is a new private hot tub on the cottage deck on the ocean side. We have a large 220 foot dock and a smaller deck that you are welcome to utilize. There is a rocky beach when it's low tide. The kayaks and lifejackets are available to use. Lots of charters available nearby if you'd like to go whale watching or fishing.

If you like to stay busy, there's lots to do. The Galloping Goose Trail is at the end of our street and is perfect for a morning run, bike ride or hike. The town of Sooke has fabulous restaurants and the nearby beaches are breathtaking.

You'll feel like you're in the middle of nowhere but we're 5 minutes from the town of Sooke where you'll find grocery and liquor stores, Shopper's Drug Mart, banks, Tim Horton's and a variety of other stores/restaurants. Costco and other favorite stores are about 20 minutes away. We're 25 minutes to downtown Victoria.

This is truly paradise. The cabin can be used year round. This specific area of Sooke is known to have milder winters and the summers are often warm and sunny.

Magical starry skies and the Milky Way while lounging in the hot tub after a 30km bike ride on the Galloping Goose Trail up past the Sooke Potholes. Home is well stocked, bed is comfy and hosts were quick to respond when we had a question. Would definitely recommend a stay at Luna by the Seas to renew and recharge your soul. - "I enjoyed staying here. The bed was comfortable. Kitchen and bath amenities were provided as promised. It’s not a high-end establishment but that’s OK with me. My particular unit was quite near the road. in August the traffic noise is pretty heavy. Luckily there is a fan which I used to drown out the noise. The location is conveniently near many of the lovely beaches on the south side of the island, while not being too far away from the marina, stores and restaurants. I wish that I had stayed a bit longer and actually just enjoyed just being there on the site. The other guests were very quiet, and I felt like I had the whole place to myself. On my last day, I looked down towards the dock too see a sweet harbor seal swimming around under and through the Docs. I wished that I had had time to go down and commune. this would be a fantastic place to stay, especially if you’d like to do sea kayaking or SUPing."

Vintage Sooke Cabin is an economical getaway for two people who travel light. Vintage Sooke Cabin overlooks the Strait of Juan de Fuca and has views of the Olympic Mountains across the water. Sightings of seals, sea lions, and many different kinds of ocean birds are common here. Whales are often in the area in summer time. Vintage Sooke Cabin is a base from which to explore the Sooke area with its walking, cycling, beachcombing, and other outdoor opportunities.

The cabin has a queen sized bed on a platform in an alcove off the main room. The three piece bath is compact but well outfitted. Items and furnishings in the cabin have been carefully sourced, and are rare but functional antiques or pieces of art. The new items are carefully chosen to fit the Vintage Sooke Cabin theme; note the kitchenette and its microwave oven. Check out the retro gas BBQ! Yes, there is wifi.

- "Two years ago we stayed for an extended weekend, last year for a week and this summer for 30 days per the new rental rules. First and last week = vacation, two middle weeks = I (the wife) stayed and worked remotely from this "office" with the most amazing views and background noise...waves crashing on the shore. We love this cabin! No-frills but oh so functional. Everything is incredibly well thought out both for function and also to fit the Vintage property. A big part of "getting away from it all" is to live the more minimalist lifestyle that this cabin brings. The yellow Muskoka chairs on the bluff dot the i. Watching Orcas, Humpbacks, sea lions, seals, otters from those chairs (or from the cabin door) is beyond amazing. Not to mention sunrises to the left, sunsets to the right, Olympic Peninsula straight ahead, boats out fishing, the odd tug boat, freighters and cruise ships make for never ending entertainment. Lots to explore in the area as well. We were sad to head back to the mainland and our stay can again this time be summed up in just a few words...Balm For The Soul. - "The bus is a very cool space, cozy and comfortable. The location is great for West Coast road beaches. Everything close by for restaurants and groceries etc. The view from the bus is the best!" - "We loved absolutely everything about our stay in Sooke on the ski bus! Situated on the water, the view is amazing....you can watch the sun rise laying in bed. Mornings were spent paddling the calm waters of Sooke Basin on kayaks provided by the host and enjoying coffee on the deck. We spent our afternoons hiking in the area to beautiful beaches and lookout points. A drive to Botanical Beach in Port Renfrew is totally worth it, especially if you stop at Shirley Delicious for breakfast. Evenings were spent on the property, preparing meals on the BBQ and air fryer then cozying up to read a book or watch a movie. Highly recommend this unique experience!"

- "Beautiful location and dock area. There was no private outdoor seating area at the unit I was at, but other than that, had a great experience. Very clean and it was a beautiful room. With spacious decks, plenty of outdoor furniture, and a nice dock, this private lake front cottage makes a perfect family getaway. If you have ever dreamed of going out fishing in the morning and sharing that moment with someone, this is the place to do it. Kemp Lake is stocked with trout, so you might even catch breakfast. This quiet location is a short drive from some of the most spectacular beaches and hikes in North America including the Juan de Fuca trail. Cottage on Kemp Lake can accommodate 4 guests. It includes 2 bedrooms and 1 bathroom.
The first bedroom has a queen bed. The second bedroom has bunk beds with a single on top and a double on the bottom. The kitchen has a view of the lake and plenty of natural light. It has a full-sized fridge and stove.
There are 2 "kid kayaks" and a paddle boat available for guests. Please bring your own PFDs. If you bring your own boat, please note that only electric motors are allowed on the lake. For those wishing to relax outside, there is a hammock and fire pit for use when it is allowed by local fire regulations. There is Wifi, but no TV.
As we value the relationship we have with our neighbours, we have a no parties or events policy. Only the number of people booked are allowed at the house.

- "We had an amazing time at the kemp lake cabin. Waking up to the pristine lake every morning is a dream. The lake is perfect for swimming and kayaking. We spent every day in the water. The cabin is clean, stylish and well appointed. The best part is that there is a games room with lots of toys and games to keep the kids busy. A lovely surprise for us, as we didn’t expect this! There are kids kayaks to use, a gas fire pit to roast marshmallows, a hammock to laze your day away. It’s a peaceful little gem. There is no laundry though so bring enough clothing for your stay. We’ll definitely be back!"

The kitchen had all the appliances we needed and was thoughtfully stocked with various coffees, condiments, drinks and treats. The living room furnishings and beds and bedding were very comfortable. The hot tub bubbled vigorously at 104 degrees or so...really relaxing with that great ocean view. We saw deer and eagles on the property daily. This was a nice retreat for my 86 year old mom, my girlfriend and me. We enjoyed walking on the stony beach and sitting on the driftwood logs. The open-plan living space is perfect for relaxing and entertaining, soft earthy neutral tones, heated concrete floors, along with a custom wood stove help instantly set the mood, while the fully stocked kitchen has everything you need to enjoy preparing any culinary delights.

The main cabin has 2 generous sized bedrooms, each with a Kingsize bed complete with organic avocado mattresses and dressed in conscious luxurious washed linens that feel dreamy to the touch.

Charlies Cabin is located only a 15 minute drive from the hub of Sooke. It’s built on an acreage with stunning views off of the mountain peaks throughout the land. It's our little slice of heaven in the chaos of the world. And we're happy to be able to share it with you all. You’re welcome to walk the trail at the back of the cabin and explore the rear of the property. Charlies Cabin is located alongside Sooke Road. Giving easy access to the main road to drive to nearby restaurants, stores, beaches and more. It's a true cabin feel with accessibility to the roadway. There is also a Fireplace & Outdoor Fire pit. Plus a BBQ!

You will absolutely love the ability to get around easily, no matter what part of the southern island you are trying to get to. It's a perfect middle ground. That has the choice of walking the land itself. Or going out and finding an epic adventure. It's beautiful at any time of the year.

I absolutely love what we have only a short drive away, from beaches to waterfalls. Stunning hikes and kayak adventures. Ziplining is nearby, to go on a fun little zip through our vast forests. We have lakes in the East Sooke region. The basin only a bike ride or drive away, it's truly an epic location. From Victoria, Langford and the Sooke region, We make it easy to get around.

Welcome to The Rose Cabin! Custom built by our family, this Douglas Fir post and beam cabin is the perfect spot to relax after an exciting day of hiking or exploring wild west coast beaches.

Located on the south west coast of Vancouver Island in the coastal town of Sooke. The Rose Cabin is a 5min drive from town (restaurants, groceries, coffee, brewery) & 10mins from local beaches and hikes. The perfect home base for outdoor enthusiasts!

The Rose Cabin is located at the front of our property. A separate driveway includes parking for 2 cars.

With Fresh linens, robes, and your bathroom necessities. Wind down with an Epsom salt bubble bath. Not only that but if you forgot a simple thing like a hair tie, or even a shaver. We've got you covered. Make a fresh cup of tea, or brew up some coffee. You can sit by the cozy fire inside, or head on out to the fire pit for some S'mores making or hot dog roasting.

Take a read through our many books and pamphlets on the surrounding area. With many recommendations of what to do and see within our Welcome Book. The TV has up to date Amazon Fire Stick. You'll have access to Netflix, Prime Video, and Disney+. As well many other game apps, and the ability to log in to your own personal, streaming or
Sports subscription’s. Speaking of Games, we have quite the in home "Board/ Card Game" Haul. Something for all ages. Whether you're having a drink with some friends or the kids want to have some fun.

We've got a great little play area for kids upstairs with tons of games, toys and colouring. With their own TV with the same accessible streaming. The kitchen has everything you need to get started on a meal or to get brewing on a cup of coffee. All new appliances within the cabin. Cleanliness is key in our space, and we always go above and beyond to make that a priority. The cabin has everything you may need within. Including your spices, oils and vinegar for getting started on a meal. With the must have utensils, baking, and Cooking we've got it. Charlies cabin goes the extra mile to make our guest as happy as possible with there choice on choosing us.We're local, we're a family, and I'll always be there to quickly respond to whatever it may be. If you need something that isn’t there, let me know and I will do my best within my ability to promptly make it happen.

Guest access
You'll have access to the entire cabin. If you have any Trailers, and or RV’s these are not generally allowed for safety concerns of the nearby road. And the capability of turning in. If you have to bring something for any reason please let me know in advance.

The Cabin is only accessible to you and those traveling with you. Charlie’s Cabin Property is 10 acres. You have access to the Trails on the property, that lead up to the rear. And to many little peaks throughout our land. The property is 20 acres in total and our family is on the other 10. We utilize our side of the property, but will never come by the cabin unless stating first. Your privacy and ours is always a priority. If you have any questions or concerns you can always ask. We are a welcoming family, and your comfort is important to us.

Other things to note
Charlie's Cabin Is located just off of the main road in to Sooke. There is the noise of some traffic, but it’s never been a disruption for us. And ours guests have minimal comments in regards to the traffic. This is great for easy access in to the Sooke center but also close enough to the surrounding areas such as Langford and Victoria. This road is the main access in and out of Sooke. The Cabin is not up any large hills or mountains. It's just a short distance from the driveway access of the road. The Cabin has a covered shed area for the car to stay if needed or ample parking around the Cabin. Including a round about and pull up access to the main side door. This Cabin is not located in the middle of the woods, making it much easier to get around. Though it isn't located in the middle of the forest you're able to go out and visit the forest and surrounding nature whenever you'd like. As this cabin is located on the front plot side of 10 acres with a trail next to the cabin. The back of the property allows you to look out on to the surrounding area's and truly delve in to nature and just relax. Our property contains, ponds, projects, and a cool “Car Grave yard” as we like to call

Charlies cabin gives ample accessibility to other rural areas. This isn't the classic "Cabin in the Woods" but it give's you the best of both worlds. And plenty of room to explore, head out on a drive or grab a bite to eat.

This newly built westcoast modern cabin has all you need. It is oceanfront, with a hot tub, king bed and a 5 minute drive to Sooke BC. Watch the waves and seals and otters while having a coffee at the kitchen table.

The space
Fall asleep to the sound of the waves. Take in the changing view of Juan de Fuca Straight and the Olympic Mountains.
The cabin is close enough to town to not miss amenities, but remote enough to enjoy wilderness and solitude.
The 750 sq foot vacation cabin was constructed in 2019. The two bedroom cedar cabin has a modern kitchen, appliances and bathroom. The cabin features a private hot tub, laundry, and fully equipped kitchen. The 3 panel sliding door in the living room opens up 8 ft wide to make the space feel really open to the patio.

Guest access
Guests will have full access to the cabin, the parking and the beach in front of the cabin. When tide is low, guests are able to walk on the beach. The neighbourhood is private and quiet and we ask that guests not walk onto neighbouring properties.

Welcome to your cozy cabin on the beach at an 80 acre farm!

Step out your front door onto the middle of beautiful Ella beach. This super cute one bedroom cabin with all amenities could not be closer to the water and is also situated on our farm which is yours to explore. Play on the beach, nature walk through our private old growth forest or come visit our friendly animals and the beautiful gardens at Woodside Farm.

The space
The cabin itself is a 350 square ft tiny home with a full kitchen, dining, bathroom and one bedroom with a queen size bed. The couch area is created from two twin beds placed end to end that can be used for additional sleeping.

The cabin is situated just steps from the beach with beautiful views of the Juan de Fuca straight and Olympic mountains. Behind the cabin is a pond full of ducks most of the year. There are 2 fire pits, one on the beach and one by the pond (good for windy days).

The setting is extremely private, there are no other buildings nearby and you are in the forest.

Ella beach is one of Sooke's most beautiful beaches and is named after a daughter of the Muir family who founded historic Woodside Farm in 1851.

Guests at the cabin also have access to the farm itself. Which has a beautiful private forest, hay fields, lots of fun to visit farm animals and beautiful gardens. We'll be happy to show you around!

You'll be able to access the entire cabin, the entire beach and the entire 80 acre farm.

Other things to note
Depending on your car you may need to walk into the cabin for the last 50m or so. This is an easy walk, but can be a bit difficult for small cars as you head into the forest area.

The water at this property is not potable. There are 2 large bottles supplied as a courtesy. One on the water dispenser with any remaining amount in the bottle, and 1 spare full bottle. If you run out during your stay you can refill at the Village Foods in Sooke, the water refill station is located to the left of the store towards the produce section.

Each unit contains its own sleeping area(s), bathroom, living/dining area and kitchen or kitchenette. There are outdoor picnic tables designated to each unit, which can be combined to create an eating space for everyone together. We have two communal BBQ’s onsite.

• Check-in after 4pm. Earlier check-in considered, when possible.

• Check-out is 11am. Later check-out considered, when possible.

• All guests must be registered with the host. No unregistered guests or visitors on the property, unless discussed and approved prior.

• No excessive noise is permitted.

• Quiet time is from 10pm – 8am. Please respect the neighbours.

• Fires are only permitted in designated areas. No fires allowed when fire ban is in effect.

• As the property is on a septic system, it is important to adhere to guest numbers, so as not to overwhelm the system.

• Smoking and vaping not permitted inside the cottages. If it is evident there has been smoking inside; appropriate funds will be withheld.

• There is a steep bluff located at the waterfront - Children must be accompanied by an adult at all times while in this area. In addition, climbing, sitting, standing on the fence in this area is not permitted.

• Use of beach, and access to/from are at your own risk.

• Please note that the grounds are under video surveillance for security and safety purposes. If you have concerns regarding this, please let us know.

• Events must be approved by owners. NOTE: we do not allow bachelor/ette parties

• Our caretakers, Shelley and Tim will be available throughout your stay. They will be on site daily, so please reach out if there is anything you need assistance with.
