Nestled in a serene setting, you'll find comfort and relaxation here while living off grid. The cabin features 2 queen beds and 1 full bed, ensuring a restful night's sleep for everyone. We even have an incredible push button heater for chilly mornings when you want heat immediately. Immerse yourself in the marvelous surroundings and take in the natural beauty of the Pacific Northwest. Whether you're exploring the nearby hiking trails or simply enjoying a cup of coffee on the deck while watching the hummingbirds, this cabin is a unique getaway. Feel free to reach out to us during your stay - we're happy to suggest local spots to check out. Our cabin is conveniently placed in between Forks and the beaches (Mora, Lapush, etc). Unplug being the key word but we also want our guests to have options so our cabin does offer Wi-Fi … come here to refresh and walk away feeling renewed. The cabin is rustic - some things are a little quirky but we love it and hope you do too!
We allow pets at the cabin by approval only. There is an additional cleaning fee for any pet so let us know size or your pet(s) with your booking request. Also, we schedule extra days in between visits for cleanings and to recharge the solar if needed. If you are wanting more days than what are available on the calendar please send a request!
- "This little off grid cabin was out in the woods and we loved it. It was so peaceful and quiet. We had zero problems with it being off grid. We were mindful of the electricity we used tho. The bathroom wasn’t the cleanest, but as stated it was due to water stains from before a filter install. The property manager was super friendly and helpful. We would definitely stay here again to escape the world for a few days. Plus it was real close to town and the beach. The rainforest was about an hour away. Only suggestion would be to have some more solar lights available for extra peace of mind. But again we had zero issues with power or water"

Hello. At this time of the corona virus outbreak. Here are some reassurances about my place.I am on the West end of Jefferson County. 65 miles from Port Angeles and 110 miles from Aberdeen. The closest town is Forks and that is 15 miles away. There is a large grocery store. I am isolated, with no super close neighbours and in the middle of 27 acres of pristine forest land. I have my own well and I have it tested every year. My crew of helpers are doing a great job of keeping the property clean and comfortable. We get lots of great comments about this. Our favorite comment..."We can't wait to come back". The decks, gazebo, huge yard ,and the wonderful trails are really fun to relax around. And so quiet too.
- "Our family of 4 went with another family of 4 for the 4th of July weekend. We found the cabin to be quiet and inviting. Our kids had so much room to run around, they loved the trails and enjoyed being outside. We had a campfire every night, it was very peaceful. The cabin is in a great location. Just a short drive to go into Forks, the HOH Rainforest and Ruby Beach. I would reccomend this for anyone, everything was provided, just brought our food. Thank you so much for a great, relaxing vacation. We hope to return. "

Great cabin located 2 miles north of Forks on the world famous Sol Duc River. This very comfortable, all cedar cabin, has 2 bedrooms with queen beds, 1 bathroom with a shower/tub combination, Direct TV, wireless internet, is fully furnished and has a washer and dryer. We're close to the Olympic National Park's greatest attractions; the Hoh Rain Forest and it's ancient, moss covered trees, the numerous ocean beaches (2nd Beach is our favorite), Sol Duc Hot Springs, and the rugged Northwest Coast area along the Strait of Juan de Fuca. Right here on the river, eagles soar overhead, otters play, and fish migrate home.
- "We had a lovely time staying at this property. At first, we were a little concerned about privacy because the host's house is right next door, but she was incredibly sensitive to our privacy and we didn't feel 'spied upon' at all. The cabin was comfortable, and was very well equipped with everything we needed, including kitchen ware, spices, extra paper products and plenty of towels. And to top it off, what a beautiful riverfront location! We had dinner overlooking the river each night. Highly recommended!"

*** NEWLY RENOVATED*** The Outback Too Cabin at Manitou Lodge is approximately 12′ x 12′ allowing for a queen bed. This unit has a hot-water sink as well as a mini-refrigerator, microwave, and Keurig coffee maker. Wifi is available in the main lodge.
Outback occupants have access to an outdoor rainforest shower facility (short walk, next to tent site #3) and a port-a-potty (shared with one other cabin) that is a few steps away from the cabin. Towels are provided.
Pets are allowed in this room ($50 for the first, $25 each additional), which can be paid in via the website or cash on arrival. AIRBNB and VRBO guests please communicate directly, in advance of your stay, to make arrangements for payment.
Manitou Lodge is perfectly situated in Forks, Washington. Our accommodations provide guest rooms, cabins and camping on ten acres of coastal rainforest, just 3 miles from Rialto Beach, and 15 minutes west of Forks. Manitou is what a lodge should be – wood, stone, a Great Room with a massive stone fireplace, vaulted ceilings, and furniture you can put your feet up on. Nights in our forest are silent except for the distant rush of the Sol Duc river and occasional interruptions by coyotes and owls.
Originally built in 1970, our Forks WA Lodging is a built around a classic lodge structure whose most striking feature is a huge vaulted-ceiling Great Room with a massive stone fireplace. The numerous couches and chairs in this room provide the space to be with others, and, at the same time, to be private. The Lodge also is home to our lovely Gift Shop which features Native American and Pacific Northwest art, decor, jewelry and more.
Step Outside and Experience the Pacific Northwest
Situated on ten acres of coastal rainforest, our Forks WA Lodging is just about as far west as you can get in the lower 48 states. The property’s hemlocks and spruce are still imposing, and there’s a Western Hemlock on the property well over 1000 years old. The grounds include wonderful trails, bits of whimsy and lovely spots to picnic.
Summer is a delight with sunshine and temperatures that rarely rise above 80 F. With winter come the fish. Local rivers (Sol Duc, Bogachiel, Calawah, Hoh) offer world-class salmon and steelhead fishing. We also experience powerful winter storms which shape our coastline. It’s worth a dose of rain and wind in the face to witness one of these, especially when a couch, fire and warm bed are just a couple of minutes away.
SELF CHECK-IN: Any time after 3pm (no early arrivals, please). Find the card with your name on it at the front door and follow check-in instructions inside. With the convenience of self check-in at our Forks Washington accommodations, you can take your time and arrive at your convenience. AFTER DARK ARRIVALS: It will be VERY DARK and there are no street lights. Please be quiet and courteous of other guests while getting to your site. Having a flashlight available will also be helpful.
There is something for everybody any time of year in the Olympic National Park and Forks Washington. Explore wilderness beaches such as Rialto Beach, hike in the moss-draped beauty of the Hoh rainforest, fish the plentiful rivers of the region, or enjoy sightseeing. Forks is also the setting for the Twilight Saga, and hosts the Forever Twilight Festival every fall.
We’re located just a 45 minute drive from the Hoh Rainforest and Sol Duc Hot Springs, and about an hour from Cape Flattery (most Northwestern point in the lower 48 states) and the Makah Reservation and Cultural Museum at Neah Bay. Rialto Beach, spectacularly rugged and log-strewn, is just 3 miles away. The Quileute Tribe resides 9 miles away at La Push, as well as First Beach at LaPush and Olympic National Park’s Second and Third Beaches (not to be confused with Beaches 1-3 south of Kalaloch).
Rialto Beach, the only drive-to beach in the immediate area, is a spectacular, driftwood-strewn beach on the north side of the Quileute river about 3 miles from the Manitou Lodge. The surf is generally heavy, the driftwood logs huge, and the sunsets are magnificent. The Rialto crescent extends for about 1.5 miles and ends with two towering sea stacks, tidal pools, and “Hole-in-the-Wall”, a surf-carved tunnel in a headland. The 18 mile hike north from Rialto Beach to Cape Alava is a favorite with backpackers.
First, Second and Third Beaches extend south from the mouth of the Quileute River. These beaches are long, flat crescents popular with photographers due to sea-stacks (a well-known sea-stack complex, the “Quileute Needles”, lies just offshore), tidal pools, and eagles. Access to Second and Third Beaches requires hikes of 0.5 to 1.5 miles, respectively. The headlands at First Beach and Second Beach can’t be passed, but one can backpack south from Third Beach along the coast for about 17 miles to Oil City.
The Hoh Visitor Center is about 30 miles from us, and the Hoh Rainforest is possibly best known attraction in the Olympic National Park. Average annual rainfall in the Hoh Valley is in excess of 150 inches, and has a spectacular effect on the vegetation. Along the “Hall of Mosses” Trail, the moss-draped maples are extravagantly green year round, so much so that somebody has written that the air appears to be jade-colored. The Spruce Trail follows the glacier-carved Hoh river maple and red alder “bottom”. Scenic raft trips are available in summer along the Hoh River, and guides can be contracted throughout the year for fishing and scenic trips.
Other regional activities near Forks Washington include world-class fishing, mountain-biking, hiking in the Olympic mountains and along the wild beaches that comprise the Pacific Coast portion of the Olympic National Park, or a visit to Cape Flattery, the most Northwestern point in the lower 48 states. A boardwalk recently completed by the Makah Nation, on whose lands the Cape sits, has considerably eased the hike. The views of the Straits of Juan de Fuca, Tatoosh Island, and Vancouver Island from the Cape cliffs are inspiring. While visiting the Cape, you won’t want to miss the outstanding Makah Cultural Center and Museum at Neah Bay. These are just a sampling of the possibilities on the West End. For a more comprehensive look, consult some of the links listed below and visit the Forks Chamber of Commerce Five Day Guide to the West End. Twilight fans won’t want to miss a stop in Forks, WA.

- "We stayed in a cozy cabin and appreciated the quiet surroundings" - "My now fiancé and I spent our 5 year anniversary here, it was just amazing. Our cabin had the most perfect views and it lived up to ever expectation and more. Our border collie also loved the trip. The shower + bathroom was good! We definitely will be back." - "We enjoyed the scenery around the lodge and cabin. Check in was easy and the bed was comfortable. The shared portable bathroom nice. The parking situation was a little tight with someone in the other cabin but not a big deal. Having the Keurig was a nice touch 👌"

- "Cute little place to stay close to town in Forks. We stayed one night while touring the park. Beds were super comfy. Small kitchenette worked for us since we weren’t doing much eating. Shower was small but bathroom is well stocked. Porch had 2 chairs to enjoy some cocktails. There was a precious long haired kitty that came to say hello to us." - "The property is exactly what you see in the images - a converted shed. We took a risk & booked it, with low-ish expectations, but were completely surprised at how delightful it was! We could not believe how comfortable and cozy they'd made it. It was quite hot that week, and the a/c worked perfectly. The bathroom and kitchenette (hot plate/microwave, sink, mini-fridge) were clean and modern, and there was even a small desk/countertop. Even though there were 2 adults and two teens, we were all very comfortable. And oh my gosh, the beds! Slept like a baby. It's in a quiet residential neighborhood. Even on July 4th weekend we were totally undisturbed. Plus, the owner was highly responsive. We only had one night booked but would have been happy to stay several more nights. Definitely recommend this as a cozy base if you're doing some hiking nearby. My only recommendation is that shops and restaurants in this small town close early—plan accordingly."

- "Family of four. This worked out great for us." - "We stayed a couple nights in these great little cabins while making expeditions into the western side of Olympic national Park. The tiny homes were a great home base to go see the rainforest and all the beaches in the area, and they were a welcome and peaceful respite from the hustle and bustle of Seattle. Slept with the windows open listening to the tree frogs. Even though the top floor is really short, my daughter and I had a blast staying up there."

- "We had a perfect stay at the tiny house! Comfortable, clean and close to Olympic National Park. The loft was great but did pose a little trouble with a tall adult forgetting it was a tiny house! It was just what we needed and was stocked with anything you might need which was such a nice touch! " - "The cabin was great. Just like the photos. Exceeded our expectations. " - "We managed to get 6 adults in this tiny house for 2 days. Apartment was clean and new furnishings. Kitchen and bath worked great for our party and a twilight birthday celebration. Worked out better for us than a couple of motel rooms. Couldn’t use the fire pit b/c fire ban. The bed frame was a little too big for the one bedroom and the loft mattresses were a little too thin for full size adults. Great location and proximity to gift shops, forks outfitters, and visitor center/timber museum. Our unit was right next to the highway so there was some road noise in the morning— unavoidable due to location. Check in and out was easy. We would stay here again. "

The cabins are identical inside aside from decorations. Please read below for more details about what they include.
More about the inside space: Each cabin holds 3-4 guests comfortably. Included are a kitchen, common area, and loft. There are three beds, two twin mattresses in the loft and a full bed downstairs doubled as a couch. There is a kitchen supplied with the basic salt, pepper, spices, oil, coffee, creamer, and sugar in each of the cabins. We provide all needed pots and pans for cooking a meal. We also have an inside boot dryer to make sure your feet are warm and dry for your next day adventures!
More about the outside space: Outside the Sol Duc Den we provide guest parking, covered porch seating and 2 fire pits. We ask that you bring your own bundle of fire wood, however we do have additional "wet" firewood available for use once your fire is started.
More about the location: Our location is only a 2 minute drive to the Whitcomb Diimmel/ Sol Duc boat launch, a 5 minute drive to the heart of downtown Forks, 25 minutes to Hoh River, 20 minutes from La Push, a 40 minute drive to Lake Crescent, and an hour to Port Angeles!
Why this location and property? This property and cabin is particularly special to myself and the owner Ryan. We both grew up on the North Olympic Peninsula and have traveled to Forks for our entire life’s. Both partaking in various activities the area has to offer. Portions of the homes, landscaping and all were built by the owner himself. He even carved the wood furniture for the fire pits! You are sure to feel the love, and hard work he has put into this property to make you have the best experience possible.
You will have access to both cabins, both fire pits, and shared lawn.
We will be available by phone or message 24/7 so please don't hesitate to ask any questions. This home provides self check-in. All property & guest guidebook info is available on the airbnb app.
This location has privacy, but is neighbor to other homes. Our neighbors are very friendly so no need to worry! You are sure to hear the birds chirping, see squirrels, rabbits, elk, deer, sasquatch and other wildlife that roam the area!
p.s. If you didn't know already, Forks is famous for the book and movie series "Twilight."
p.s.s. World class guided steelhead and salmon fishing is available. Please feel free to message me to book a trip.
We recommend that you have your own transportation. We do have bus stops but they are few and far between!
World class Salmon and Steelhead guided fishing trips can be arranged. Please contact me to book an unforgettable experience!

- "We were two families renting both tiny cabins on the property. For a group, this space is very private and serene. Note: if you book only one of the cabins, the two cabins are right next to each other, so it may not be the right fit if you're looking for privacy. Accommodations were comfortable, the kiddos loved playing in the loft. Kitchen was well equipped (note: no oven, just a tiny toaster oven—not for real baking). The campfire was nice and we appreciated the supplied firewood. Only had two issues but they were notable: the wifi was unreliable, though the property manager was responsive in trying to help address it; and we couldn't shower because the showerhead, which faced the opening, sprayed past the curtain and instantly started flooding the bathroom. Our friends in the west cabin said they didn't have an issue though. Maybe just in need of a better shower curtain in the east cabin. All told, we had a really nice time. Convenient to the town of Forks and Hoh Rainforest and lots of lovely beaches. Would recommend!"

He even carved the wood furniture at the fire pit! You are sure to feel the love, and hard work he has put into this property to make you have the best experience possible.

The beds are 6 wooden single person bunk beds with sleeping mats. Although, we have had numerous guests sleep two smaller adults on the two bottom bunks. The two uppermost bunks are slightly shorter than the others. You bring your own bedding.
The Shack is cozy. It is not full of extra space for hanging out. The purpose is to provide a shelter for sleep and spend your days outdoors.
There is no electricity so lighting is limited. We provide a lantern. Bringing a flashlights or headlamps is advised.
There is no potable water on the property. You must provide all of your own drinking/cooking water.
Firewood is not included with your stay.
Guest access
You will have complete access to The Shack. You may come and go as you please but when driving through the fields and on Gaydeski Road please drive very slowly! The Shack is accessible by car.
Other things to note
Expect all things at The Shack that you would experience camping. Spiders, mosquitos, moths, rodents... Bats come out at night! I only list this to warn people who may be scared of such things. They should not bother you, but they will fly around at night just as a bird would during the day. If you have lights on at night, they will be attracted to the bugs that are drawn to your light! We cannot prevent these critters from making an appearance given the environment that The Shack is in and the type of structure The Shack is. We apologize in advance for any unwanted encounters you may have with such creatures. These are wilderness circumstances beyond our control.

Just a quick FYI about the heating in the cabin: it uses radiant floor heating which requires some time to adjust the temperature, but holds the heat very well. When you arrive at the cabin, you should adjust the heat to your preferred temperature (thermostat is on the wall in the living room above the loveseat) right away to give the cabin time to adjust to your comfort level. This riverfront cabin has been host to many guests since 2011. Fishermen's Hollow is located approximately 5 miles south of Forks with easy access to hiking, Olympic National Park, and Pacific beaches. This cabin has a full kitchen with 2 bedrooms and 1 bath. Relax on one of two decks, enjoy the river, wildlife, and the unique and peaceful seclusion.
The space
This riverfront property is very private with two buildings - the Main & the Bunkhouse. The Main & Bunkhouse are 7 feet apart and connected by covered decks and breezeway. The Main cabin contains a full kitchen, 3/4 bath, great room concept with leather furniture and a large table for meals. The Bunkhouse has 2 bedrooms. The Main & Bunkhouse each have covered riverside decks to sit and watch the river. There is a firepit providing campfire fun. Open the windows at night and listen to the river.
Guest access
This property is rented to one-party. As there are two buildings connected with covered decks, it is important to note that the bathroom is in the Main cabin. At night guests will need to go from the Bunkhouse to the Main. The decks are lit, covered, safe, and approximately 7 feet from door to door.
Other things to note
Our original thought in 2005 when we created the separate Bunkhouse had to do with our college age kids and their friends. At the time, they would stay up late and we'd get up early. The separation allowed for quiet nights or quiet mornings depending on your preference.
As one bedroom has two beds, and for privacy purposes, this property is best suited for age combinations up to 4 adults and 2 children/teens.

The kitchen features an electric stove, full-sized refrigerator, dishwasher, and lots of counter space for the cooks. Kitchen utensils, pots and pans, and dishes are provided for your convenience. Enjoy a soak in the bathtub after a long day adventuring.
A fire pit is provided for your enjoyment. Use of the fire pit and outdoor cooking fires (i.e. barbeque) are allowed consistent with current burn ban regulations. If a burn ban is in effect, we will notify you. Wood and kindling are available for purchase from nearby stands for a nominal price. ***As of 7/14/2025 a full burn ban is now in effect throughout Clallam County due to extremely dry conditions and high fire risk. This ban covers all recreational and cooking fires. Thus, it applies to the use of the fire pit and charcoal BBQ. Thank you so much for your understanding and cooperation.***

We recently took over this home to care for our father and are gradually updating it new paint, deep cleaning, new furniture and maintenance as we can. The pricing reflects its current condition, and we’re working steadily to elevate the space over time.
This is a rural home surrounded by trees—not a resort, and not fully updated yet. If you’re looking for a peaceful, unplugged forest escape and don't mind some ongoing improvements, this is the place. For someone seeking a fully finished, serviced property, this may not be a match.
