Cross the bridge to Harstine Island and step into a serene forest retreat. Tucked beneath towering Alaska Cedars and Big Leaf Maples, this charming one-bedroom guest cabin offers comfort, quiet, and the beauty of nature on a peaceful 10-acre property. Wander meandering woodland trails, snack on wild huckleberries, or soak in the hot tub beneath the trees—it's the perfect place to unwind.
The cozy cabin sleeps 2+ with a comfy queen bed, a kids’ sleeping loft, and a full-size futon in the living room. You'll find everything you need for a relaxing stay: a complete kitchenette, a covered porch with a café table, a private patio with a swing for two, a gas BBQ, and of course—the hot tub, exclusively for guest use.
The beach is just a short walk away, perfect for quiet moments watching herons, seals, and the shifting tides.
While the cabin is its own private space, the property owners’ home is nearby—close enough to offer a warm welcome or assistance if needed, but far enough to ensure your privacy and peace.
Explore nearby state parks or take a day trip into the South Puget Sound or Olympic Peninsula. Whether you're seeking rest, romance, or outdoor adventure, this peaceful woodland escape offers a perfect blend of comfort and nature.
- "We had a really great stay. The most amazing part was how the hosts knew what we wanted from them, without us ever saying it. Many other reviews talk about how helpful and interactive the hosts are. But we wanted a more private feel, and they just magically knew that and gave us a lot of space. And we still got to cash in on the famous zucchini bread that came fresh out of the oven just as we were checking out. The cabin and all of the areas around it have well thought out privacy screens that make you feel like you are alone, or at least way further away from the main house than you really are. The trail system was worth exploring. For two adults, give it about an hour of your time. If you have kids with you, you could easily spend hours out there checking out the gnomes, the horses, and the hidden forest swing. The listing is accurate for what is in the house and it is well appointed. The outdoor grill is adequate for grilling for two people. We did bring an extra cutting board which helped. Pro Tips - Hama Hama Oyster Saloon is 45 minutes away and one of the coolest day trips for a couple (especially with a reservation) - There are 3 disc golf courses within ~30 minutes. - There is a lot more to do and see at Harstine Island State Park (with a steep-ish hike involved) than there is at Jarrell Cove."

Ellie’s Lake house has a unique location surrounded by 270 degrees of water on one of the cleanest fresh water lakes in the Pacific Northwest. The carefully thought out architecture of the cabin provides you with a beautiful view of the water out of any window you chose. Your lakeside deck provides the perfect spot to watch the sunrise with a cup of coffee or stargaze at night with the beverage of your choice. There are plenty of activities to choose from. You can go for a swim, take the canoe, kayaks, pedal boat, or SUP boards out (all supplied) for a little jaunt around the lake. If your lucky you may get to see the pair of eagles hunting or playing on the water. On land you may want to take the two beach cruisers out for a ride through the friendly neighborhood, or go for a walk. If you have your boaters license, bring your own motor boat and water ski, wake board or tube! If you fish, don't forget to bring your fishing pole because Lost Lake is considered to be one of the best bass and trout-fishing lakes in western Washington. With a 30 foot shelf only 25 feet off the bulkhead, Ellie's Lake house is the best spot on the lake to fish 365 days a year! If your trout has a blue tag attached to it's fin it is a winning derby fish!!! You win a PRIZE! You can relax on the cozy furniture and read a book, play a board game or construct a puzzle. There is a fire pit to roast marshmallows and commune around as well as a private hot tub to enjoy anytime of day.
If you're in the mood to explore, there are plenty of fun things to check out close by! The historic city of Shelton only 20 minutes away. The quaint little salt water towns of Hoodsport or Union are just up hyway 101 with winery's, dining, and gift shops that make for a fun little day trip. The Skyline drive in is close by for an old fashioned drive in movie during the summer months! The Little Creek Casino is a 25 minute drive with all the casino fun you may desire along with an 18 hole championship golf course at the Salish Cliffs Golf Club. Ocean Shores is an hour and twenty minute drive to the west. If you enjoy hiking there are some amazing hikes within a short drive as well. If you're visiting in the month of December make sure to check out CHRISTMASTOWN USA
for some small town Christmas cheer!
There is plenty to do and see but good luck wanting to leave the magic of Ellie’s once you arrive. 😉 This cabin truly is a lakeside oasis where good times are had and memories are made.
This cabin is not a place to party. It is our vacation home that we take great pride in sharing with people like you who love and respect it the same way we do. It is best suited for couples looking for a private romantic getaway.
Please be aware..... there are fifty-two (52) stairs to access the cabin. If stairs are an issue for you Ellie's lake house may not be a good fit for you.
There is a ring camera on premise located at the entrance for any issues during check in.

The host was easy to work with and quick to respond to communications. Beds were comfortable and the cabin was well appointed with everything we needed to cook, do laundry, and find our way around the area. We were there during the hottest week of a very dry summer (according to the Park Ranger we met), but the cabin's air conditioning kept us cool day and night. - "My daughter and shared 5 totally wonderful nights at this property. The view and setting are absolutely amazing and so beautiful. We had perfect weather and my daughter actually swam, twice! The house was extremely comfortable, beds were great (I came home and ordered the same sheets as on the beds because I loved them), kitchen had everything we needed and we loved sitting on the deck. Only drawback is the noise, unfortunately. You really hear the traffic above and behind you. Not so bad at night because there's less traffic, but those big trucks make a lot of noise especially with the windows open. Otherwise, we had a fabulous and relaxing time!"

Also in the loft is a large smart-TV to login to your favorite streaming services, as well as a Blue-Ray DVD player and assortment of movies. With a ductless heat and air conditioning unit, several cozy blankets, and fans, you’ll be comfortable no matter the weather.
For those looking to relax, we have several board games, card games, and books for you to enjoy. We also recommend relaxing on the large deck and taking in the views. Out the sliding doors you’ll find a hammock, propane grill, dining table and covered outdoor lounge seating. We suggest a game of corn-hole under the twinkling patio lights during the summer nights.
Because the cabin is in the heart of the Olympic Mountains, cell service can be spotty so enabling Wi-Fi calling on your phones is your best bet. Wi-Fi is available at the cabin, and cell service improves once you are in the town of Hoodsport (about 12 min drive).
Accessibility – There are 9 stairs to get to the front door. Once inside, everything you should need is on the main floor. The loft has narrow and steep stairs that are part of the original build in 1971. There is no dishwasher, but dish soap and drying rack are provided. Washer and dryer are available.
Typically, there is a burn ban during the summer months and fireworks are prohibited on Lake Cushman. Fires are not allowed on the property. If you are bringing a boat, please let us know so we can order a boat launch pass (additional fees apply).
We look forward to hosting you at Deer Creek Cabin. Please note that guests are required to complete the rental agreement attached, along with the 2 ID items listed on page 3 of the agreement within 24 hours of booking.
- "very well detailed cabin. Beautiful deck with night lights ! would stay there again when visiting." - "Close to great trails and lake. One more toilet paper roll would have been excellent." - "My family of 5 loved this cabin. 3 minute walk to a park with beach access. We went there daily. The little market up the street had friendly workers. So close to hiking trails, and we loved the quaint shops in Hoodsport. Cabin was clean, cozy, and everything we needed it to be."
