Cedar suite is a craftsman stufio with a luxury bathroom, kitchenette, dining area, smart tv and good wifi. This space was personally renovated by us and transformed from an empty space into a cozy & quirky home away from home.

Our home is a 1950’s renovated craftsman, transformed by us into 3 private living quarters. Your space is next to our home like a duplex. It has a door code and is entirely private.

Sleeping arrangements: There is a comfortable queen sized bed. We have a baby/toddler floor bed accessible by request, as well as a portable crib.

Kitchenette: Our space provides a well stocked kitchenette similar to a spacious master suite at a hotel. There is a small fridge and freezer, electric stove top, microwave, cookware, and dishes.

Bathroom: We have a jacuzzi tub, rainfall shower, and cedar lined walls. This bathroom is open to a large walk-in closet. It is gorgeous, comfortable, and a perfect place to unwind.

When it comes to privacy, our guests have almost never seen each other in the 4 years we have been open. You woukd only see us or the other guests in the driveway.

Location: We are 5 minutes from I-5, 10 minutes from a cute downtown Olympia/Puget Sound with local shopping and a farmers market on the weekends, and 1 hour from Seattle.

There are two residences on this property. There is a main house and this studio. The beach access is shared between the two guests.

The climb to the top of the tower is about 98 steps, depending on where you start your climb. At the top, the Skyroom features 8 foot sliders with views to the north, east, and west. Enjoy views from the Skyroom's wrap-around balcony. There is a half bath just below the Skyroom, so you can enjoy the views as long as you'd like!

MAIN LEVEL
* The primary bedroom has a king bed and full sized sofa bed. It is also equipped with a walk-in closet, dresser, TV with Amazon Firestick, and a gas fireplace.
* The guest suite has a queen bed, private exterior entrance, 3/4 bath en suite, TV with Amazon Firestick, and wet bar with a mini fridge and a Keurig.
* The living room, primary bathroom, and kitchen/dining room are also on the main level. No need to use the stairs at all for guests with mobility issues!

LOWER LEVEL
* The "rec room" has a full-sized sleeper sofa and single folding cot. This room has a door for privacy, a wet bar, and a smart TV.
* The lower level bedroom is cozy with a king bed, dresser, and closet.

SKYTOWER
* The first landing in the Skytower has a utility closet and powder room.
* The Skyroom, at the top of the tower, is a lounge space equipped with seating, floor cushions, and a vinyl record player.

Other spaces at the Skyhouse include the spa room, laundry facilities, a lower-level full bath (tub & shower), outdoor picnic table, outdoor lounge area with gas fire table, outdoor wood fire pit, and garage stocked with recreational gear. All are available for guest use!

The location is within walking distance to the Alderbrook resort. There are trails literally across the street. This is definately a home worth staying in. It's worth every penny!"

Do NOT settle for the same old boring motel room. Come enjoy our beautiful walk-out basement apartment! So bright and cheery, you will want to extend your stay. Visit & chill on the covered patio around the fire table. Explore the waterfalls & hikes in Shelton & the Olympic Peninsula or check out the sites & activities in Olympia. We provide farm fresh eggs, Costco bacon, English muffins, butter, and pancake mix/syrup for the first morning! No worries. We've got you covered!
The space
You will have the run of the basement apartment- with the main space having an efficiency kitchen including microwave, apartment size fridge, dishwasher, and stove/oven; a dining table for four (expandable to seat 6 or more- please request extra chairs if need be); the living room- complete with a leather sofa, ultra-comfortable lay-flat recliner, electric fireplace/heater, and a smart TV; and last but not least the lighted shuffleboard table where winners and losers will be determined with the slide of a puck (let the smack-talking commence).
Off this main room are the two stylishly appointed bedrooms- one with a king bed (12" luxury firm foam mattress), and one with a queen bed (14" plush hybrid mattress). Also adjoining the main room and right next to the bedrooms is the bathroom with a walk-in oversize shower and other standard fixtures. The bathroom features lots of nice tile- no plastic walls here!
On the covered patio you can enjoy sitting by the fire table on the upholstered patio love seat and chairs. You will have views of wooded land from the patio. There are trails in the woods- including one that leads steeply down to Goldsborough Creek. There is a large gas grill for your private use on the patio.

You will have full private use of all of the spaces described above along with the fenced back yard- which is mostly lawn.

The space
As much as we love pets, this one of a kind studio has a strict no pet policy. We only accept up to 2 registered guests. Thank you and we wish you the most pleasurable stay on Hood Canal!

Enjoy complimentary coffee, beach towels, small propane BBQ and a restful time after a full day at the beach. We just added a mid size refrigerator in the beach closet which is attached to the cabin near the driveway. This will help with extra beverages, food storage and ice (only a mini fridge inside the accommodation).

Please be advised that owner occasionally needs access to the boat on the dock. Boat is not for guest use. Respectfully, Kerry your property manager will communicate as early as possible via the Airbnb message platform regarding when the owner needs to access the dock during your stay.

Favorite things to do while staying here:

-Relax, unwind, be captivated by nature. Our rustic fireplace is one of the top highly rated reasons why guests love Dockside! Aside from the view, epic dock and beach access of course :).

-Hang out on the dock ALL. DAY. LONG. Swim, kayak, sunbath, sit and read! Then grill dinner on our propane grill and enjoy eating at the picnic table while taking in the sunset. Grab some wine from Cameo Boutique & Wine Shop (tell them Kerry sent you!).

-Reserve 2 single kayaks for $25 each (entire stay!) to paddle from the protected waters of Calm Cove to the Union City Market and have brunch or dinner at its popular "Canal Cook Out". Just ask Kerry to reserve and deliver your kayaks via the Airbnb message platform. Due to weather, kayaks are no longer stored at the end of the dock as seen in many of the photos.

-Enjoy Union! You are minutes from Alderbrook Resort & Spa (SUPs, chartered cruises and beautiful hiking trails), Robin Hood Restaurant & Pub (with its live music venue), Alderbrook Golf Club, Union Square Deli, Dos Margaritas, Union City Market, Dalby Water Wheel and much more.

There is a beach closet attached to the Dockside (closest to the parking lot) that stores kayak paddles, life vests, sunscreen, broom and other useful beach items for your stay. The key that opens the slider door is the same key used to lock and unlock the beach closet. Please use the double kayak at the end of the dock! There are waiver forms that must be signed located in the beach closet. Just fill it out and the Manager will pick it up after check out.

Please use extra caution when departing from Dockside. It is recommended to turn right (with traffic heading Westbound on SR 106). You may have to find a safer spot to turn around in order to head East on SR 106 (towards Alderbrook Resort/Belfair).

The golf course is within 2 miles, and there is also a "must see" majestic viewpoint nearby for those who enjoy capturing memorable photographs.
This Graceful Getaway is reasonably priced which enables you to spend your money on the fun things to do as mentioned above, browsing various shops in town, enjoying an adult beverage at one of the taverns, or dining at one of the many local restaurants. Please note that there is a grocery store and gas station in town as well as a small convenience store near the Getaway that has movies to rent for $1 and a sandwich menu to choose from.

- "The place was perfect for what we needed. We very much enjoyed our time here - there’s room to hangout in the backyard/patio but we did not use that space. The beds are very comfortable and with 1.5 bathrooms it was perfect. We had a few things come up and Julie was very quick and responsive. It’s very close to downtown Olympia and a quick few minutes to the interstate to head to Seattle. Local restaurants and a grocery store just down the road. We would definitely stay here again! "
