Cross the bridge to Harstine Island and step into a serene forest retreat. Tucked beneath towering Alaska Cedars and Big Leaf Maples, this charming one-bedroom guest cabin offers comfort, quiet, and the beauty of nature on a peaceful 10-acre property. Wander meandering woodland trails, snack on wild huckleberries, or soak in the hot tub beneath the trees—it's the perfect place to unwind.
The cozy cabin sleeps 2+ with a comfy queen bed, a kids’ sleeping loft, and a full-size futon in the living room. You'll find everything you need for a relaxing stay: a complete kitchenette, a covered porch with a café table, a private patio with a swing for two, a gas BBQ, and of course—the hot tub, exclusively for guest use.
The beach is just a short walk away, perfect for quiet moments watching herons, seals, and the shifting tides.

Explore nearby state parks or take a day trip into the South Puget Sound or Olympic Peninsula. Whether you're seeking rest, romance, or outdoor adventure, this peaceful woodland escape offers a perfect blend of comfort and nature.
- "We had a really great stay. The most amazing part was how the hosts knew what we wanted from them, without us ever saying it. Many other reviews talk about how helpful and interactive the hosts are. But we wanted a more private feel, and they just magically knew that and gave us a lot of space. And we still got to cash in on the famous zucchini bread that came fresh out of the oven just as we were checking out. The cabin and all of the areas around it have well thought out privacy screens that make you feel like you are alone, or at least way further away from the main house than you really are. The trail system was worth exploring. For two adults, give it about an hour of your time. If you have kids with you, you could easily spend hours out there checking out the gnomes, the horses, and the hidden forest swing. The listing is accurate for what is in the house and it is well appointed. The outdoor grill is adequate for grilling for two people. We did bring an extra cutting board which helped. Pro Tips - Hama Hama Oyster Saloon is 45 minutes away and one of the coolest day trips for a couple (especially with a reservation) - There are 3 disc golf courses within ~30 minutes. - There is a lot more to do and see at Harstine Island State Park (with a steep-ish hike involved) than there is at Jarrell Cove."

- "Wonderful and relaxing" - "The cabin was perfect for our family of three. Nestled in a secluded quiet neighborhood near the lake and close to the Staircase area of ONP. The host was easy to work with and quick to respond to communications. Beds were comfortable and the cabin was well appointed with everything we needed to cook, do laundry, and find our way around the area. We were there during the hottest week of a very dry summer (according to the Park Ranger we met), but the cabin's air conditioning kept us cool day and night. Would definitely stay at Yeti Pines again!"

- "My daughter and shared 5 totally wonderful nights at this property. The view and setting are absolutely amazing and so beautiful. We had perfect weather and my daughter actually swam, twice! The house was extremely comfortable, beds were great (I came home and ordered the same sheets as on the beds because I loved them), kitchen had everything we needed and we loved sitting on the deck. Only drawback is the noise, unfortunately. You really hear the traffic above and behind you. Not so bad at night because there's less traffic, but those big trucks make a lot of noise especially with the windows open. Otherwise, we had a fabulous and relaxing time!"

You'll love our recently renovated beach house on Harstine Island's southern tip. Take in stunning views of the Olympic Mountains, Squaxin Island and Peale Passage from the huge deck and the rock, gravel and sand beach. Wander and explore the expansive tidelands. Comb the endless beach for sand dollars, sea shells, driftwood and other treasures while enjoying the solitude of one of Puget Sound's undiscovered gems. Bring your boat or use one of ours. Swim, fish and crab in the clean waters of Puget Sound.
Most of the beaches on Harstine Island are privately owned, including all of the beaches you can access by walking from the house. All of the owners allow people to walk along their beaches, but gathering shellfish (clams, oysters and geoduck) by our guests is prohibited on these private beaches. Property owners are very concerned about people taking shellfish from their beaches, so I ask that you please respect their property.
The beach in front of my property has been over-harvested of its shellfish, so to allow nature to recover we are asking guests to only gather shellfish on the public beaches on the island. There is more information below on the public beaches and in the guidebooks at the house.
My bulkhead, made of large concrete blocks, is 100 feet long, and covers the width of my property. My beach goes all the way out to the lowest low tide point. You are free to walk on any part of my beach and neighboring beaches, north or south, but please DO NOT gather shellfish from the beach directly in front of the house or from neighboring beaches.
If you are planning to gather shellfish, you can drive to several public beaches on the island. One is Harstine Island State Park, which requires a short hike to the beach (DNR-24 beach) and is open to the public for clams and oysters all year. You can walk south on this beach for about a mile and you'll reach McMicken Island State Park, where there is also great shell fishing. Plan to be there at low tide for the best shell fishing. Here is the web address for more information about these beaches:

The gravel driveway leading to the house is steep in places and can be a challenge for some vehicles. If you own an all-wheel-drive or 4-wheel-drive vehicle, drive that if possible. On the way down the driveway be sure to turn right at the white arrow and park where the driveway becomes level. On the way up the driveway use your vehicle’s lowest gear (or 4WD). Stay to the right for better traction. Maintain a constant speed and avoid stopping and starting. Do not spin your tires. If you lose traction, back down and start again.
- "We really enjoyed our stay. It was great to have use of the kayaks. Loved watching an osprey fish right outside the windows." - "This place is amazing. We got to see so much wild life. We had so much fun hiking kayaking and just taking in the scenery. Our kids had a blast in the tide pools. The house is filled with everything you need. The views are just amazing. The pictures don't do it justice. The sauna was magical. The sun sets were stunning. Even after vacationing with little kids we feel rested and rejuvenated. This place is priceless. We will be back every single summer!"
