Cross the bridge to Harstine Island and step into a serene forest retreat. Tucked beneath towering Alaska Cedars and Big Leaf Maples, this charming one-bedroom guest cabin offers comfort, quiet, and the beauty of nature on a peaceful 10-acre property. Wander meandering woodland trails, snack on wild huckleberries, or soak in the hot tub beneath the trees—it's the perfect place to unwind.

You'll find everything you need for a relaxing stay: a complete kitchenette, a covered porch with a café table, a private patio with a swing for two, a gas BBQ, and of course—the hot tub, exclusively for guest use.
The beach is just a short walk away, perfect for quiet moments watching herons, seals, and the shifting tides.

- "We had a really great stay. The most amazing part was how the hosts knew what we wanted from them, without us ever saying it. Many other reviews talk about how helpful and interactive the hosts are. But we wanted a more private feel, and they just magically knew that and gave us a lot of space. And we still got to cash in on the famous zucchini bread that came fresh out of the oven just as we were checking out. The cabin and all of the areas around it have well thought out privacy screens that make you feel like you are alone, or at least way further away from the main house than you really are. The trail system was worth exploring. For two adults, give it about an hour of your time. If you have kids with you, you could easily spend hours out there checking out the gnomes, the horses, and the hidden forest swing. The listing is accurate for what is in the house and it is well appointed. The outdoor grill is adequate for grilling for two people. We did bring an extra cutting board which helped. Pro Tips - Hama Hama Oyster Saloon is 45 minutes away and one of the coolest day trips for a couple (especially with a reservation) - There are 3 disc golf courses within ~30 minutes. - There is a lot more to do and see at Harstine Island State Park (with a steep-ish hike involved) than there is at Jarrell Cove."

- "Wonderful and relaxing" - "The cabin was perfect for our family of three. Nestled in a secluded quiet neighborhood near the lake and close to the Staircase area of ONP. The host was easy to work with and quick to respond to communications. Beds were comfortable and the cabin was well appointed with everything we needed to cook, do laundry, and find our way around the area. We were there during the hottest week of a very dry summer (according to the Park Ranger we met), but the cabin's air conditioning kept us cool day and night. Would definitely stay at Yeti Pines again!"

- "My daughter and shared 5 totally wonderful nights at this property. The view and setting are absolutely amazing and so beautiful. We had perfect weather and my daughter actually swam, twice! The house was extremely comfortable, beds were great (I came home and ordered the same sheets as on the beds because I loved them), kitchen had everything we needed and we loved sitting on the deck. Only drawback is the noise, unfortunately. You really hear the traffic above and behind you. Not so bad at night because there's less traffic, but those big trucks make a lot of noise especially with the windows open. Otherwise, we had a fabulous and relaxing time!"

You'll love our recently renovated beach house on Harstine Island's southern tip. Take in stunning views of the Olympic Mountains, Squaxin Island and Peale Passage from the huge deck and the rock, gravel and sand beach. Wander and explore the expansive tidelands. Comb the endless beach for sand dollars, sea shells, driftwood and other treasures while enjoying the solitude of one of Puget Sound's undiscovered gems. Bring your boat or use one of ours. Swim, fish and crab in the clean waters of Puget Sound.
Most of the beaches on Harstine Island are privately owned, including all of the beaches you can access by walking from the house. All of the owners allow people to walk along their beaches, but gathering shellfish (clams, oysters and geoduck) by our guests is prohibited on these private beaches. Property owners are very concerned about people taking shellfish from their beaches, so I ask that you please respect their property.
The beach in front of my property has been over-harvested of its shellfish, so to allow nature to recover we are asking guests to only gather shellfish on the public beaches on the island. There is more information below on the public beaches and in the guidebooks at the house.
My bulkhead, made of large concrete blocks, is 100 feet long, and covers the width of my property. My beach goes all the way out to the lowest low tide point. You are free to walk on any part of my beach and neighboring beaches, north or south, but please DO NOT gather shellfish from the beach directly in front of the house or from neighboring beaches.
If you are planning to gather shellfish, you can drive to several public beaches on the island. One is Harstine Island State Park, which requires a short hike to the beach (DNR-24 beach) and is open to the public for clams and oysters all year. You can walk south on this beach for about a mile and you'll reach McMicken Island State Park, where there is also great shell fishing. Plan to be there at low tide for the best shell fishing. Here is the web address for more information about these beaches:
http://wdfw.wa.gov/fishing/shellfish/beaches/280820/
The gravel driveway leading to the house is steep in places and can be a challenge for some vehicles. If you own an all-wheel-drive or 4-wheel-drive vehicle, drive that if possible. On the way down the driveway be sure to turn right at the white arrow and park where the driveway becomes level. On the way up the driveway use your vehicle’s lowest gear (or 4WD). Stay to the right for better traction. Maintain a constant speed and avoid stopping and starting. Do not spin your tires. If you lose traction, back down and start again.
- "We really enjoyed our stay. It was great to have use of the kayaks. Loved watching an osprey fish right outside the windows." - "This place is amazing. We got to see so much wild life. We had so much fun hiking kayaking and just taking in the scenery. Our kids had a blast in the tide pools. The house is filled with everything you need. The views are just amazing. The pictures don't do it justice. The sauna was magical. The sun sets were stunning. Even after vacationing with little kids we feel rested and rejuvenated. This place is priceless. We will be back every single summer!"

Awesome waterfront vacation home on Hood Canal at Lilliwaup Bay! Incredible 180-degree views of the Canal from nearly every room in the home. Level 2 EV charger. Great Kayaking right from the private beach (five kayaks and two rowboats and life vests for complementary use by guests). Nearly 100’ of private low-bank waterfront and tidelands. The bay is home to Bald Eagles, numerous species of waterfowl, Blue Heron, King Fishers, migratory and resident salmon ( King, Silver, Chum), seals, sea lions, otters, and occasionally Orcas.
The relaxing home is situated on a huge lot away from highway 101 giving it uncommon privacy and quiet compared to other Canal properties. A large deck which overlooks the water is equipped with a gas barbecue. Additionally, located feet from the water is a fire pit for campfires and/or barbecuing.

- "We had a wonderful stay at this really nice and clean home right on the banks of Hood Canal. We had everything we needed and we’re impressed by the cleanliness. Communication with the owner Jay was quick and easy. It’s quiet and we had a relaxing stay. Highly recommended!" - "Jay is an attentive, communicative host. You will NOT find a Hood Canal/Hoodsport home with a better bedroom view! Every morning I woke up to the sunrise over the canal right from the loft. This home is ideal for a romantic getaway for two- just because the master is the loft bedroom & I could communicate clearly with my family downstairs in the kitchen from my bed in the master. That said- we enjoyed our stay thoroughly. We kayaked , cooked, grilled, swam in the canal & at Lake Cushman, napped and played yatzee. I highly recommend Jake’s Hide-a-way Fishing Lodge!"

Pebble Beach Place is a designer-inspired original bungalow carriage house. The carriage house is situated on the hill above the main residence of a gorgeous classic South Shore 'Hood Canal Home'. It is separate from the main house and is above the studio garage on the 2nd floor with stairs (we are sorry in advance that we cannot accommodate disabled or handicapped individuals). While the house is not directly on the water we are only a short 75 ft across hwy 106 and we have 85 ft of private beach and beach deck available for oyster and shellfish picking. Plus a private 115ft dock in which to enjoy the beautiful sunsets from the west on Hood Canal. The carriage house has it's own lovely view of the canal, and is surrounded by a cedar forest. Our lodge type property has many sitting areas with large expansive views of the canal and the hot tub looks out onto the water. The carriage house has a caretaker on sight, you will enjoy all the privacy of a vacation home, (as this property is completely separate from the main house), yet you will have access to concierge services and special requests if so desired.
The carriage house has a lovely partial view of the water and the main deck and hot tub look out onto the canal. Yes, you can see down the canal with the mountains when in the tub !
Please note* The hot tub deck is attached to the main house not the guest house as the guest house is separate from the main house. We do reserve it and the main deck for our guests only in the carriage house .

Take advantage of the computer desk and task chair in the daylight basement while enjoying a view of the mountains. Our retreat has plenty of parking with both a carport and parking space in front of the garage.
Dogs are welcome. Smoking is permitted outdoors only. (Please note: WiFi is available in the house, but our home does not have a landline phone, satellite, or cable access. Cell phone access outside our home is limited and cannot be guaranteed.)
- "This home is always clean and well maintained. This was our 4th visit." - "The property is located on a quiet cul de sac in one of the popular subdivisions. It has a beautiful view of the mountains and a partial view of the lake across the street. I enjoyed the view from the deck with my morning coffee. The house is very comfortable, clean and accomodated all of us nicely,(2 grandma's, adult daughter, and another daughter with her partner and 4 year old and 10 month old baby and a small dog) with the master bedroom & bath upstairs, the bedroom on the main level and the full size bed in the basement. The community park is close by with a boat launch and play equipment. We enjoyed a hike at Staircase, which is close by too and the kayaks. The owners were excellent with communication before and during our stay. We really appreciated the gas grill, especially when the power went out for a full day.in the subdivision. The neighbors were friendly and helpful too. We enjoyed watching the deer come through the area too."

- "Absolutely loved this place. Oysters abound. Many ways to warm up after being outside: Hot tub, sauna, woodstove or even a soak in the clawfoot tub. The Wolf stove is ready to cook up your oyster stew. Then relax and watch a movie, choose from a huge selection of DVD's. It was perfect!" - "Wouldn’t stay anywhere else. Great hosts!" - "We had a wonderful time with the family. We especially enjoyed the hot tub and sauna that came with the gray cabin, as well the wood stove. The only disappointment was that the low tide wasn’t low enough to get decent oysters and ones near the shore were all taken….. better luck next year"

You are welcome to explore our private tideland (i.e beach behind the property) and public beaches in the area, outside of the community. Please note that HOA rules and insurance limitations stipulate that community amenities (including playground, community beach, boat dock, and boat ramp) are not available to our guests. State Parks in the area provide for better opportunities to explore and play.

We visited the Olympic National Park, Mt Rainier, kayaked a little, enjoyed a dip in the cool water at the canal, and enjoyed the hot tub for our semi sore muscles after all the hiking! Immerse in the splendor and beauty of Puget Sound during your stay at The Beach House!
With a fabulous location less than 2 hours from Seattle and 20 minutes from Olympia, the Beach House is located on Puget Sound's Oakland Bay, less than 2 miles from downtown Shelton, Washington. We are on the north side, making it easy to have a Starbucks in your hand in less than 5 minutes and just inside the delivery area for most restaurants offering delivery should you need a break from cooking.
The completely rebuilt Beach House is situated on the sun-drenched, southern facing side of Oakland Bay just inside Hammersley Inlet with commanding views. The home is new inside and out having been rebuilt in 2007, all inside furnishings brand new as of November 2016. The Beach House features an open floor plan with two bedrooms, one bathroom, totaling 950 square feet. House is on well water. Unobstructed views from every room (back bedroom has slight view). The home sits on a 212' ft bulkhead. Low bank water front. The home is perfect for a single family or a romantic couples get away.
Walk outside the two, double French doors onto the large deck and enjoy the 'outside living room' furnished with beautiful furniture, rugs, umbrella and a table fireplace. Barbecue from the deck as you enjoy the views or simply cook inside where the water is always in sight.
The Beach House features expansive outdoor spaces, both covered and sunny, with three different levels of yard. One level sits a patio table, chairs and umbrella for alfresco dining. There is a lounging area with two lounge chairs. Children can reach a lower level with the custom made 14 foot slide from the deck.
Our home is popular with seniors as there are no stairs to get to or inside of the home. The only stairs (about 20) which are easy to navigate, are to the lower yards and beach.
The beach is ever changing with the tides. Tide change can fluctuate up to 16 feet, but the current is almost nonexistent on this side of the bay, allowing us the pleasure of a floating dock year round.
The Beach House is located on a private beach. Each home owns their tidelands. We are the last house on the beach, so you’ll likely see more sea life than another human. A short beach walk toward the marina and you’ll be able to find oysters. Enjoy beach combing, bird-watching and wildlife viewing, including bald eagles that reside a few trees down, deer, blue heron, harbor seals, rabbits and raccoons.
If you're really lucky, you'll spot the pod of 4 Orca whales that pass through occasionally. Lately we've had the pleasure of watching a couple porpoises. On sunny days you can see the top of Mt. Rainer.
Historical Shelton and the surrounding areas offer plenty for everyone. Experience Mother Nature fishing, hiking, or visit the Olympic National Forest less than 45 minutes away. If staying put is what you like, our historical town has an old fashion drive-in theater, quaint boutique shops and even a casino for those feeling lucky! Children will love the playground at Kneeland Park.
There are also several great golf courses nearby. A local visitors guide at the home gives you plenty of great ideas to do during your stay.
**Please note, we rent our home for others to enjoy for a short period each year. We hope you have the opportunity to stay and enjoy it as much as we do. Please keep in mind this is a home and not a sterile square hotel room, as perfect as we think it is, it is a home all the same. If perfection is your cup of tea, our home probably isn’t the fit for you.
Any questions, please ask 253. 961. 3116 we’re happy to help!

- "This house was an amazing, peaceful stay. Waking up to the views of the bay and hills, plus the wildlife watching was perfect. We saw harbor seals and hummingbirds every day, deer, jelly fish, crabs and ducks. The patios are cozy. The bed was super comfortable and the kitchen was stocked with anything you need. We were welcomed with a goody bag of wine, chocolate covered pretzels, sparkling juice, and a giant cupcake which was perfect for my husband’s birthday. The only downside was the bathroom space is small and it’s well water, smelled like sulfur and this city girl couldn’t get used to it. The driveway was intimidating, having to back down while avoiding oncoming traffic but once you figure out the right angle it’s easy. The privacy is worth it. Loved this rental!!"

Welcome to Deer Creek Cabin!
Surrounded by towering evergreen trees, this cozy A-frame style cabin is a perfect location to explore what Hood Canal and the Olympics have to offer, or those looking for a place to unwind.
For the outdoor enthusiast, there are plenty of options! For those who hike, nearby are several trails; Mount Rose, Mount Ellinor, Staircase to name a few. Lake Cushman Golf Course is just 9 minutes away, and we have a few discs for you to try the disc-golf that is 7 minutes away. With just a 3-minute walk to a private community park, you’ll have access to the lake for swimming, kayaking, paddleboarding, as well as access to the boat launch, dock, and playground all while being enveloped by the jaw-dropping Olympics. Want to picnic at the lake? We have a cooler for your convenience, as well as beach towels to soak up the sun. We also have a parking pass for guest parking at the private community parks.
Nestled in a quiet Lake Cushman neighborhood, this contemporary-updated cabin with knotty pine walls sleeps 6 and features 2 bedrooms on the main floor, one with a king, and one with a queen bed, as well as a three-quarter bath with a stand-up shower. In the living room, the floor to ceiling windows give a peak-a-boo view of the Olympics through the magnificent trees and hopefully you’ll catch a glimpse of the deer that walk through nightly. The kitchen offers many amenities that will support your culinary talents and in addition to the kitchen necessities, boasts several small appliances including an air-fryer, rice cooker, and waffle iron. Upstairs in the loft, there are two futons that convert to full size beds. Also in the loft is a large smart-TV to login to your favorite streaming services, as well as a Blue-Ray DVD player and assortment of movies. With a ductless heat and air conditioning unit, several cozy blankets, and fans, you’ll be comfortable no matter the weather.
For those looking to relax, we have several board games, card games, and books for you to enjoy. We also recommend relaxing on the large deck and taking in the views. Out the sliding doors you’ll find a hammock, propane grill, dining table and covered outdoor lounge seating. We suggest a game of corn-hole under the twinkling patio lights during the summer nights.
Because the cabin is in the heart of the Olympic Mountains, cell service can be spotty so enabling Wi-Fi calling on your phones is your best bet. Wi-Fi is available at the cabin, and cell service improves once you are in the town of Hoodsport (about 12 min drive).
Accessibility – There are 9 stairs to get to the front door. Once inside, everything you should need is on the main floor. The loft has narrow and steep stairs that are part of the original build in 1971. There is no dishwasher, but dish soap and drying rack are provided. Washer and dryer are available.
Typically, there is a burn ban during the summer months and fireworks are prohibited on Lake Cushman. Fires are not allowed on the property. If you are bringing a boat, please let us know so we can order a boat launch pass (additional fees apply).
We look forward to hosting you at Deer Creek Cabin. Please note that guests are required to complete the rental agreement attached, along with the 2 ID items listed on page 3 of the agreement within 24 hours of booking.

- "Quiet little spot at the end of a road. Only 9 min drive from our dive location. Really clean and nicely decorated. Would stay here again." - "The cabin was very clean and equipped with everything we needed (except a corkscrew). I took my son and his girlfriend for a little trip for his birthday and we went to see Rocky Brook Falls in Brinnon. The fall was breathtaking and a very short easy walk from the car. The town of Hoodsport is full of friendly people. All shops were open on Sunday and we shopped along the water. I loved the beds. The master bedroom mattress was one of the most comfortable I’ve EVER slept on. There we’re beautiful painted rocks all over and paint to do our own. There was a shed full of outdoor games and a ton of games and puzzles and cards for all ages inside. Thank for sharing your home we had a great time. 😀 Would definitely come back!"

- "I stayed at this home with my fiancée, just the two of us and our dog, for 1 night. Pros: the property is large and nice to stroll around with our dog. We saw the alpacas and baby cows, though they were wary and didn't come too close to the fence. The owners were delightful and helpful. This would be a fun place to let kids run around in the summer. Cons: there are 3 or 4 houses on the property, and they're VERY close together. The first thing we did was close all the curtains. The amenities, such as the hot tub, the hammock, fire pit, are out on the property for use by anybody staying in any of the houses. I booked this property imagining a private hot tub for my fiancée and me, but we didn't want to use it since it was in view of so many windows. We could hear our neighbors using it from inside our house. Speaking of the house, it was comfortable enough, but sort of awkward, as it was clearly converted from a barn, then stuffed with beds. There are beds for 8 people, yes, but sharing the one bathroom on the bottom floor would be difficult with 8 people. Additionally, the only door on this bathroom is a sliding barn door, so there are gaps through which sights/sounds/smells can escape. The listing mentions a 2nd bathroom which I did not find, unless it means the bathrooms over by the hot tub, accessible from the outside. Also, the bottom floor is open - two queen beds and the kitchen, but no doors. Just a partial wall to block direct line of sight between the beds."
