Jim was very quick to respond to questions and was very accommodating. Also, a big plus was that the living room furniture was actually comfortable and able to seat a number of people. Oh, and the kitchen is very well stocked! Would stay again." - "This is the second time we stayed here. I love the location, the spacious deck overlooking the water, and just the homey, sea- themed decor. Everything is clearly marked. A huge plus is the games provided for children and adults. The host was easy to work with and quick to respond to communications. Beds were comfortable and the cabin was well appointed with everything we needed to cook, do laundry, and find our way around the area. We were there during the hottest week of a very dry summer (according to the Park Ranger we met), but the cabin's air conditioning kept us cool day and night. - "We had a wonderful stay at this really nice and clean home right on the banks of Hood Canal. We had everything we needed and we’re impressed by the cleanliness. Communication with the owner Jay was quick and easy. It’s quiet and we had a relaxing stay. Highly recommended!" - "Jay is an attentive, communicative host. You will NOT find a Hood Canal/Hoodsport home with a better bedroom view! Every morning I woke up to the sunrise over the canal right from the loft. This home is ideal for a romantic getaway for two- just because the master is the loft bedroom & I could communicate clearly with my family downstairs in the kitchen from my bed in the master. That said- we enjoyed our stay thoroughly. We kayaked , cooked, grilled, swam in the canal & at Lake Cushman, napped and played yatzee. I highly recommend Jake’s Hide-a-way Fishing Lodge!"

It has a beautiful view of the mountains and a partial view of the lake across the street. I enjoyed the view from the deck with my morning coffee. The house is very comfortable, clean and accomodated all of us nicely,(2 grandma's, adult daughter, and another daughter with her partner and 4 year old and 10 month old baby and a small dog) with the master bedroom & bath upstairs, the bedroom on the main level and the full size bed in the basement. The community park is close by with a boat launch and play equipment. We enjoyed a hike at Staircase, which is close by too and the kayaks. The owners were excellent with communication before and during our stay. We really appreciated the gas grill, especially when the power went out for a full day.in the subdivision. Welcome to Deer Creek Cabin!
Surrounded by towering evergreen trees, this cozy A-frame style cabin is a perfect location to explore what Hood Canal and the Olympics have to offer, or those looking for a place to unwind.
For the outdoor enthusiast, there are plenty of options! For those who hike, nearby are several trails; Mount Rose, Mount Ellinor, Staircase to name a few. Lake Cushman Golf Course is just 9 minutes away, and we have a few discs for you to try the disc-golf that is 7 minutes away. With just a 3-minute walk to a private community park, you’ll have access to the lake for swimming, kayaking, paddleboarding, as well as access to the boat launch, dock, and playground all while being enveloped by the jaw-dropping Olympics. Want to picnic at the lake? We have a cooler for your convenience, as well as beach towels to soak up the sun. We also have a parking pass for guest parking at the private community parks.
Nestled in a quiet Lake Cushman neighborhood, this contemporary-updated cabin with knotty pine walls sleeps 6 and features 2 bedrooms on the main floor, one with a king, and one with a queen bed, as well as a three-quarter bath with a stand-up shower. In the living room, the floor to ceiling windows give a peak-a-boo view of the Olympics through the magnificent trees and hopefully you’ll catch a glimpse of the deer that walk through nightly. The kitchen offers many amenities that will support your culinary talents and in addition to the kitchen necessities, boasts several small appliances including an air-fryer, rice cooker, and waffle iron. Upstairs in the loft, there are two futons that convert to full size beds. Also in the loft is a large smart-TV to login to your favorite streaming services, as well as a Blue-Ray DVD player and assortment of movies. With a ductless heat and air conditioning unit, several cozy blankets, and fans, you’ll be comfortable no matter the weather.
For those looking to relax, we have several board games, card games, and books for you to enjoy. We also recommend relaxing on the large deck and taking in the views. Out the sliding doors you’ll find a hammock, propane grill, dining table and covered outdoor lounge seating. We suggest a game of corn-hole under the twinkling patio lights during the summer nights.
Because the cabin is in the heart of the Olympic Mountains, cell service can be spotty so enabling Wi-Fi calling on your phones is your best bet. Wi-Fi is available at the cabin, and cell service improves once you are in the town of Hoodsport (about 12 min drive).
Accessibility – There are 9 stairs to get to the front door. Once inside, everything you should need is on the main floor. The loft has narrow and steep stairs that are part of the original build in 1971. There is no dishwasher, but dish soap and drying rack are provided. Washer and dryer are available.
Typically, there is a burn ban during the summer months and fireworks are prohibited on Lake Cushman. Fires are not allowed on the property. If you are bringing a boat, please let us know so we can order a boat launch pass (additional fees apply).
We look forward to hosting you at Deer Creek Cabin. Please note that guests are required to complete the rental agreement attached, along with the 2 ID items listed on page 3 of the agreement within 24 hours of booking.

On a bluff that overlooks Lake Cushman, you will be enchanted with the stunning views of the Olympic Mountains and beautiful Lake Cushman from every angle within the house. A newer home with a cabin feel and modern amenities, knotty pine trim and rustic wood furniture, it is a comfortable place to enjoy the serene setting of the mountains and the lake. There is a wrap around deck on the first floor, with a table for four and a view down the lake. In a private area, on the back of the house, there is a patio where you may BBQ on a propane or charcoal grill, eat at a picnic table, and enjoy a small fire in the fire pit. On the second floor, there are two bedrooms that access a private balcony where you can sit and relax and let your worries float away. You can access the lakeside down a winding path to a covered deck, the "Tiki Bar", that overlooks the lake. We have provided two sit upon kayaks for guest use from Memorial Day through Labor Day. There is a park for residents and their guests minutes from the house with play areas, picnic tables, a safe swim area and a boat launch and dock. There are two security cameras outside facing the parking area and a door lock code that changes with each rental for guest security. - "If you are looking to turn off from the rest of the world and just relax this is the place to do so. From the booking to check-out our stay was wonderful and hassle free. The house was spotless, well stocked kitchen, lots of room, and views for days!!! The lake was just a short walk down the property and offered endless hours of entertainment. We vacation every summer at lake Cushman and this is so far the best spot we have stayed." - "This is my third time staying at the Eagle's Rest with my parents. It's a beautiful home with an amazing view and a wonderful dock to use for swimming and boating. I couldn't recommend it more!"

- "Quiet little spot at the end of a road. Only 9 min drive from our dive location. Really clean and nicely decorated. Would stay here again." - "The cabin was very clean and equipped with everything we needed (except a corkscrew). I took my son and his girlfriend for a little trip for his birthday and we went to see Rocky Brook Falls in Brinnon. The fall was breathtaking and a very short easy walk from the car. The town of Hoodsport is full of friendly people. All shops were open on Sunday and we shopped along the water. I loved the beds. The master bedroom mattress was one of the most comfortable I’ve EVER slept on. There we’re beautiful painted rocks all over and paint to do our own. There was a shed full of outdoor games and a ton of games and puzzles and cards for all ages inside. Thank for sharing your home we had a great time. 😀 Would definitely come back!"
