Guest Access:
Prior to your arrival, you’ll receive a unique access code for a seamless and secure self-check-in experience. You will have access to the entire guest cottage. Please note the main house is not included in the rental (except for the shared back deck overlooking the lake)

The Neighborhood:
Shelton is known for its welcoming community. The residents are friendly and often engage in local events and activities. It’s also a quiet neighborhood, making it an ideal place for relaxation. The cottage is just a short drive from downtown Shelton, where guests can find shopping, dining, and entertainment options. There is also an off-leash dog park and ultimate frisbee park with tennis courts two blocks away. The lake itself has a park with a playground for kids, and a park with a picnic area and boat launch (non-motorized boats only).

Getting Around:
This house is remote enough that you will need a car to get to and from restaurants and grocery stores in the busier parts of town. Guests can use our bikes for going around the lake or for exploring the nearby area. It’s a beautiful place for long strolls too so bring comfortable walking shoes!

GATHERINGS:
We know you are coming to Tahuya to have a good time, but out of respect to our neighbors, this property has a strict No Party policy.

QUIET HOURS:
Quiet hours are from 10pm to 8am. Guests are responsible for the conduct of all persons in their unit.

PETS:
There are no pets allowed at the house. There will be a penalty fee if it is determined that there were pets were in the home during your reservation period.

SMOKING:
Smoking of any kind including vaping is not allowed in the home. There will be a penalty fee if it is determined that there was smoking in the home during your reservation period.

MINIMUM AGE:
Guests named on the reservation must be 18 years or older. By booking a reservation, you represent and warrant that you are 18 or older and have the legal capacity and authority to enter into a contract. The name on the reservation must be present at check-in and throughout the duration of the stay.

CHECK-IN / CHECK-OUT:
Check-in time is at or after 4pm and check-out time is 10am. Early check-ins and late checkouts are based on availability and can be requested one day before. Additional fees may apply.

Getting Around:
You will require a car in the area. Taxi and ride share options are limited.

Other Things to Note:
*TOTAL FIRE BAN IN WA: There is a total fire ban in WA, so unfortunately, use of the fire pit is prohibited.

Please remember that you’re staying in a house, not a hotel. We ask guests to please treat the space with respect. If any problems arise, we will do our best to take action ASAP, but there is no one living on site 24/7.

Please note that we use a noise monitoring device in the home. It does NOT record actual sounds or conversations; it simply monitors the noise level (measured in decibels) to prevent parties.

The driveway is shared with our neighbor so please do not block the driveway.

There are two parking spots, one next to the garage at the top of the driveway, and the second at the bottom of the driveway next to the house.

The driveway is gravel and slopes down to the house. The gravel can be loose and part of the driveway is a little steep at the bottom. If you do not have 4 wheel drive, we ask that you to park next to the garage (Spot #1) because you could get stuck at the bottom of the driveway.

We do not provide lifejackets for the kayaks, paddle boards or paddle boat, and we ask that you store them correctly after use. Instructions are in the house manual which will be sent to you 24 hours before your check in.

We do not provide wood for the fire pit. If you would like to use it, you will need to bring your own supplies, including a lighter. Please ensure that the fire pit is never left unattended when in use, and ensure that it is 100% extinguished by pouring water on the embers when you are finished with it.

To abide by all legal requirements and building security rules, you may be asked to provide a copy of your official government-issued photo ID, confirm your contact information, provide a valid credit card with a name that matches your ID, pass through our verification portal and, in some instances, complete a criminal background check.

- "We had a really great stay. The most amazing part was how the hosts knew what we wanted from them, without us ever saying it. Many other reviews talk about how helpful and interactive the hosts are. But we wanted a more private feel, and they just magically knew that and gave us a lot of space. And we still got to cash in on the famous zucchini bread that came fresh out of the oven just as we were checking out. The cabin and all of the areas around it have well thought out privacy screens that make you feel like you are alone, or at least way further away from the main house than you really are. The trail system was worth exploring. For two adults, give it about an hour of your time. If you have kids with you, you could easily spend hours out there checking out the gnomes, the horses, and the hidden forest swing. The listing is accurate for what is in the house and it is well appointed. The outdoor grill is adequate for grilling for two people. We did bring an extra cutting board which helped. Pro Tips - Hama Hama Oyster Saloon is 45 minutes away and one of the coolest day trips for a couple (especially with a reservation) - There are 3 disc golf courses within ~30 minutes. - There is a lot more to do and see at Harstine Island State Park (with a steep-ish hike involved) than there is at Jarrell Cove."

Ellie’s Lake house has a unique location surrounded by 270 degrees of water on one of the cleanest fresh water lakes in the Pacific Northwest. The carefully thought out architecture of the cabin provides you with a beautiful view of the water out of any window you chose. Your lakeside deck provides the perfect spot to watch the sunrise with a cup of coffee or stargaze at night with the beverage of your choice. There are plenty of activities to choose from. You can go for a swim, take the canoe, kayaks, pedal boat, or SUP boards out (all supplied) for a little jaunt around the lake. If your lucky you may get to see the pair of eagles hunting or playing on the water. On land you may want to take the two beach cruisers out for a ride through the friendly neighborhood, or go for a walk. If you have your boaters license, bring your own motor boat and water ski, wake board or tube! If you fish, don't forget to bring your fishing pole because Lost Lake is considered to be one of the best bass and trout-fishing lakes in western Washington. With a 30 foot shelf only 25 feet off the bulkhead, Ellie's Lake house is the best spot on the lake to fish 365 days a year! If your trout has a blue tag attached to it's fin it is a winning derby fish!!! You win a PRIZE! You can relax on the cozy furniture and read a book, play a board game or construct a puzzle. There is a fire pit to roast marshmallows and commune around as well as a private hot tub to enjoy anytime of day.

If you're in the mood to explore, there are plenty of fun things to check out close by! The historic city of Shelton only 20 minutes away. The quaint little salt water towns of Hoodsport or Union are just up hyway 101 with winery's, dining, and gift shops that make for a fun little day trip. The Skyline drive in is close by for an old fashioned drive in movie during the summer months! The Little Creek Casino is a 25 minute drive with all the casino fun you may desire along with an 18 hole championship golf course at the Salish Cliffs Golf Club. Ocean Shores is an hour and twenty minute drive to the west. If you enjoy hiking there are some amazing hikes within a short drive as well. This cabin is not a place to party. It is our vacation home that we take great pride in sharing with people like you who love and respect it the same way we do. It is best suited for couples looking for a private romantic getaway.

Please be aware..... there are fifty-two (52) stairs to access the cabin. If stairs are an issue for you Ellie's lake house may not be a good fit for you.

There is a ring camera on premise located at the entrance for any issues during check in.

If you intend to bring your own boat….

1.) you must have a valid boaters license.
2.) this lake is counter clockwise.
3.) no wake zone behind the large island.
4.) no wake boats.
5.) no drinking alcohol and driving.

Come visit our sweet Huckleberry Cottage nestled in the woods on private Old Hatchery Lake, in Union, close to Hood Canal, Lake Cushman and Puget Sound. outside of Shelton, Mason co.

We have a (Dock) with (Canoe), (Row boat), (kayaks)and (Fishing poles) and life jackets (A Washington State fishing licence is required). (Clean water Swimming!!).. Full kitchen, washer Dryer and more... The drinking water is fresh and safe to drink..

There are hiking trails to view the mountain range of the Olympics and Valley of Skokomish River and Indian Reservation. And Hood Canal.. {And close to Lake Cushman,11 miles long!}

Waterfront cabin located on beautiful Harstine Island with beach access 30ft. from the front door and a breathtaking panoramic view of the Puget Sound, Mt. Rainier and Mcmicken island. Enjoy a colorful sunrise from bed in the loft bedroom or from the jetted tub in the upstairs bathroom. Down stairs you can experience the view from the dinning and living rooms or the front lawn in the fresh salt air. With a fabulous location less than 2 hours from Seattle and 20 minutes from Olympia, the Beach House is located on Puget Sound's Oakland Bay, less than 2 miles from downtown Shelton, Washington. We are on the north side, making it easy to have a Starbucks in your hand in less than 5 minutes and just inside the delivery area for most restaurants offering delivery should you need a break from cooking.

The completely rebuilt Beach House is situated on the sun-drenched, southern facing side of Oakland Bay just inside Hammersley Inlet with commanding views. The home is new inside and out having been rebuilt in 2007, all inside furnishings brand new as of November 2016. The Beach House features an open floor plan with two bedrooms, one bathroom, totaling 950 square feet. House is on well water. Unobstructed views from every room (back bedroom has slight view). The home sits on a 212' ft bulkhead. Low bank water front. The home is perfect for a single family or a romantic couples get away.

Walk outside the two, double French doors onto the large deck and enjoy the 'outside living room' furnished with beautiful furniture, rugs, umbrella and a table fireplace. Barbecue from the deck as you enjoy the views or simply cook inside where the water is always in sight.

The Beach House features expansive outdoor spaces, both covered and sunny, with three different levels of yard. One level sits a patio table, chairs and umbrella for alfresco dining. There is a lounging area with two lounge chairs. Children can reach a lower level with the custom made 14 foot slide from the deck.
Our home is popular with seniors as there are no stairs to get to or inside of the home. The only stairs (about 20) which are easy to navigate, are to the lower yards and beach.

The beach is ever changing with the tides. Tide change can fluctuate up to 16 feet, but the current is almost nonexistent on this side of the bay, allowing us the pleasure of a floating dock year round.

The Beach House is located on a private beach. Each home owns their tidelands. We are the last house on the beach, so you’ll likely see more sea life than another human. A short beach walk toward the marina and you’ll be able to find oysters. Enjoy beach combing, bird-watching and wildlife viewing, including bald eagles that reside a few trees down, deer, blue heron, harbor seals, rabbits and raccoons.
If you're really lucky, you'll spot the pod of 4 Orca whales that pass through occasionally. Lately we've had the pleasure of watching a couple porpoises. On sunny days you can see the top of Mt. Rainer.

Historical Shelton and the surrounding areas offer plenty for everyone. Experience Mother Nature fishing, hiking, or visit the Olympic National Forest less than 45 minutes away. If staying put is what you like, our historical town has an old fashion drive-in theater, quaint boutique shops and even a casino for those feeling lucky! Children will love the playground at Kneeland Park.
There are also several great golf courses nearby. A local visitors guide at the home gives you plenty of great ideas to do during your stay.

- "This house was an amazing, peaceful stay. Waking up to the views of the bay and hills, plus the wildlife watching was perfect. We saw harbor seals and hummingbirds every day, deer, jelly fish, crabs and ducks. The patios are cozy. The bed was super comfortable and the kitchen was stocked with anything you need. We were welcomed with a goody bag of wine, chocolate covered pretzels, sparkling juice, and a giant cupcake which was perfect for my husband’s birthday. The only downside was the bathroom space is small and it’s well water, smelled like sulfur and this city girl couldn’t get used to it. The driveway was intimidating, having to back down while avoiding oncoming traffic but once you figure out the right angle it’s easy. The privacy is worth it. Loved this rental!!"

Inside, you'll find an eclectic blend of rustic and modern, creating a real sense of solitude for you and your guests. With the well-equipped, full kitchen and gas grill on the deck, you can prepare that fresh rainbow trout you caught off the private floating dock and then dine together indoors or out. Stoke up the fire in the woodstove in the cozy living area or head outside to gather at the firepit and roast s'mores as the stars emerge. Welcome to my charming island home in the wooded Pacific Northwest! I invite you to settle in, get comfortable and make yourself at home. It is an ideal place to relax and enjoy the natural beauty of the area. Stargaze on a clear night as there is no light pollution. The property is a very safe place with few neighbors and places to explore. The house is not shared with anyone, it will be all to yourselves.

Both bedrooms have Roku or Apple TV, comfortable queen sized beds and cozy linens, dressers, full sized closets and a view of the trees in the forest with private doors to the back deck with chairs, patio set and hammock. My home and property are very clean with lots of light and is comfortably furnished. The loft is not a ailanle for yuest use at this time

The house has a full kitchen. Coffee, coffee maker, tea and condiments are provided along with some breakfast items and snacks. No cable or satellite, but the wifi is very good.

Harstine Island has a bridge and is less than an hour from Olympia, 1.5 hrs to SEATAC airport and 1.75 hrs to Seattle, less than 1 hr to the Bremerton ferry and about 2+ hrs to the west coast beaches or Portland.

The house is close to the Olympic mountains for hiking, Lake Cushman for kayaking or to go boating or sailing in the Puget Sound. There are some nice golf courses in the area. The air is clean and crisp, there are lots of birds, we're close to the state park and cove. The property has a summer vegetable garden, apples and blackberries in the fall, a winter creek in my private park, and two decks. The fire ring may be used when there is no burn ban in effect. Fireworks are never permitted.

The town of Shelton is about 20 mins. away and has some fun festivals throughout the year. There are some things to do on the island and there is a farmer's market on Saturdays from May to early Oct. There is a great supermarket, quaint restaurants, shopping and antique stores in downtown. About 8 minutes away are some restaurants and gas. The closest restaurant is casual has a great lake view, bar and pool tables.

My place is NOT handicap accessible and it is not childproof. Only babies that are not walking or crawling and kids 12+ allowed. Infants are not counted as an extra guest. Please bring your own pack and play. No pets, extra guests, weddings or events, please. Cigarette, cigar, marijuana smoking or vaping or is not allowed in the house. You must be checking in and staying with your group (no 3rd party booking.) I am on the property in another building occasionally for some work. If there is anything you need, I am always available to help.

The space
You will have the run of the basement apartment- with the main space having an efficiency kitchen including microwave, apartment size fridge, dishwasher, and stove/oven; a dining table for four (expandable to seat 6 or more- please request extra chairs if need be); the living room- complete with a leather sofa, ultra-comfortable lay-flat recliner, electric fireplace/heater, and a smart TV; and last but not least the lighted shuffleboard table where winners and losers will be determined with the slide of a puck (let the smack-talking commence).
Off this main room are the two stylishly appointed bedrooms- one with a king bed (12" luxury firm foam mattress), and one with a queen bed (14" plush hybrid mattress). Also adjoining the main room and right next to the bedrooms is the bathroom with a walk-in oversize shower and other standard fixtures. The bathroom features lots of nice tile- no plastic walls here!
On the covered patio you can enjoy sitting by the fire table on the upholstered patio love seat and chairs. You will have views of wooded land from the patio. There are trails in the woods- including one that leads steeply down to Goldsborough Creek. There is a large gas grill for your private use on the patio.

We loved being right on the river despite the cold water temps we still tested out the swimming hole upstream! The backyard space is huge and beautiful with an amazing hot tub. Inside has comfortable high end furniture and the arcade game console was a lot of fun! Kitchen had everything we needed - note that there’s a Keurig in case you want to bring your own KCups. Vacasa provided a packed welcome basket that is always such a fun surprise. My kids made me promise to add this house to the top of the list for future trips. - "This place was simply amazing. The amenities offered are great. The room downstairs with the personal computer offered. The main bedroom upstairs was huge, with seating, huge flat screen TV, and a super comfy TempurPedic mattress. The kitchen was great. Only negative is I wished they offered a Brita for filtered water, and a kettle. The backyard is AMAZING!!! You have your own patio deck. There is a fence on either side for privacy. The hot tub was amazing and was PRIVATE. We didn't end up sharing with anyone. Unit #1 has their own hot tub. So I'm not sure why the confusing message on the post about shared hot tub. You also have a PRIVATE gas grill, and a PRIVATE gas fire pit on the deck. There is a shared wood fire pit by the river as well. The river is amazing, and right in your backyard. You can sit on your deck and listen to the stream, or just walk in. You can take a short walk up river (100 yards) to a water hole. Basketball hoop was fun. Fantastic laundry room with a pair of washer/dryer for each of the 3 units, if needed."

The lake is motor-free and is calm and great for swimming and floating. Fishing enthusiasts can try their luck with the trout in the lake (fishing gear not provided). You can walk into the water from the property, and we are next to the community dock for boat launching. We recommend bringing water shoes if you plan to walk out from the shallow side as the bank directly on our property can be muddy.

Enjoy the lake views from our spacious deck, complete with two BBQs (gas and charcoal), or lounge in our reclining chairs on the yard. Our hot tub is available year-round (7AM-11PM) and is kept spotless and cleaned and rebalanced between every guest.

The cabin has two bedrooms and a pull-out sofa. The loft bedroom has stunning lake views and a king bed with privacy curtains that double as a projector for watching movies or playing games from bed. The loft requires stairs to access. The ground floor bedroom has a queen bed and forest view. Both bedrooms have premium hotel-quality mattresses and linens that are new from 2021. The pull-out size is Queen sized and can be set up on request.

Enjoy floor-to-ceiling lake views with a wood burning fireplace. Our kitchen provides all the essentials for cooking. Note that our dishwasher is compact (not full-size) so larger dishes and pans will need to be cleaned by hand. Our dining table expands to seating for up to 6 people.

Community: This is a quiet lake community, quiet hours and respect for neighbors will be expected. Our hot tub is unavailable after 11PM: firepit and outdoor areas used after 11PM must be used quietly.
Other things to note

We are family friendly! Amenities for kids include: kids' utensils, board games, and some small toys. Note that our yard is open and has some steep portions and steps, so please supervise children while outside.
The cabin is heated, but it may not heat as efficiently as newer homes. We provide space heaters for every room and in cold seasons we recommend using the wood-burning fireplace to keep things warm. We have air conditioning to keep things cool in the summer.
We allow up to 2 dogs, with a pet fee of $70. Our outdoor deck is fenced, but the rest of our property is not: therefore your dog must be leashed at all times while outdoors. Please bring your own towels to wipe off wet/muddy dogs, and clean up after your pet.
For security, we have an outdoor camera on the property.

Enjoy the lake views from our spacious deck, complete with two BBQs (gas and charcoal), or lounge in our reclining chairs on the yard. We offer water toys such as a pedal boat, paddleboard, and floaties in the summer (May-Sept), along with life jackets for adults and children. The lake is motor-free and is calm and great for swimming and floating. Fishing enthusiasts can try their luck with the trout in the lake (fishing gear not provided). You can walk into the water from the property, and we are next to the community dock for boat launching. We recommend bringing water shoes if you plan to walk out from the shallow side

Our ~760 sq. foot A-frame cabin includes one bedroom and a loft bedroom accessible by stairs, a cozy fireplace, and a pull-out couch that converts to a queen bed. Our cabin is newly renovated, with all new mattresses, linens, and towels purchased in 2021.

The cabin is heated, but in the colder months can sometimes struggle to keep up and we recommend using the wood-burning fireplace to keep things cozy. We have air conditioning to keep things cool in the summer.

We are family friendly! Amenities for kids include: kids' utensils, board games, and some small toys. Note that our yard is open and has some steep portions and steps, so please supervise children while outside.

We have extra amenities including yoga mat and free weights: if there's anything else you need please ask!

Pet policy: We're animal lovers, but to keep our cabin clean and allergy-free we do not allow pets.

Located on the "Great Bend", this home is just 1.5 hours from Seattle and 2.5 hours from Portland. The beach home is a 960 square foot home with a private deck that overlooks stunning views of the Olympic Mountains and Annas Bay. Grill fresh seafood on our private BBQ grill and enjoy the view while relaxing outdoors. For the cooler months, the bedrooms have baseboard heaters, along with one in the living room. In the summer, guests enjoy the split-air ductless system in the living room, which does both heat and air-conditioning.

Resting on the shores of Hood Canal and surrounded by the snow covered Olympic Mountains, the home is in a prime location. Located in the town of Union, we are just 2 miles from Alderbrook Resort and Spa, where you can find resort amenities such as hiking trails, lawn games, spa, golf, kayak, and stand-up paddle rentals. Alderbrook also offers up a great bar, live music, and dining.

The Annas Bay Beach House is just a 6 minute walk away from treats and specialty gifts at The Union Country Store (open May to September). The bay, which is best paddled at high tide, offers protected water (with the exception of a north to northwest wind) and excellent views of the Olympic Mountains. The land at the margin of the bay is good habitat for various shorebirds, but landing is prohibited as it is owned by the Skokomish Nation. The beds are cozy and comfortable. The kitchen has everything you need to enjoy meals in, including both a Keurig and a regular coffee pot, dishes, glasses, mugs, pots and pans a utensils. - "I stayed at this home with my fiancée, just the two of us and our dog, for 1 night. Pros: the property is large and nice to stroll around with our dog. We saw the alpacas and baby cows, though they were wary and didn't come too close to the fence. The owners were delightful and helpful. This would be a fun place to let kids run around in the summer. Cons: there are 3 or 4 houses on the property, and they're VERY close together. The first thing we did was close all the curtains. The amenities, such as the hot tub, the hammock, fire pit, are out on the property for use by anybody staying in any of the houses. I booked this property imagining a private hot tub for my fiancée and me, but we didn't want to use it since it was in view of so many windows. We could hear our neighbors using it from inside our house. Speaking of the house, it was comfortable enough, but sort of awkward, as it was clearly converted from a barn, then stuffed with beds. There are beds for 8 people, yes, but sharing the one bathroom on the bottom floor would be difficult with 8 people. Additionally, the only door on this bathroom is a sliding barn door, so there are gaps through which sights/sounds/smells can escape. The listing mentions a 2nd bathroom which I did not find, unless it means the bathrooms over by the hot tub, accessible from the outside. Also, the bottom floor is open - two queen beds and the kitchen, but no doors. Just a partial wall to block direct line of sight between the beds."

We have discovered that people come to our Farm because it is centrally located to lots and lots of recreational areas for beautiful hikes and sightseeing. The Ocean, The Olympic Rain Forest, Ruby Beach, Lake Cushman, Steel Bridge, Lake Quinalt, Famous mushroom Co. owner, The Ridge Racing, Sky Diving and much more. We live on 32 acres in a Farm Valley in a farm house with the original half was built in 1896 and the other half built in 1997. We have a barn that has lots of friendly animals.

The space
The room is one of three rooms upstairs and has a comfortable single bed, with the option of another twin mattress on the floor, a night stand, microwave oven, refridgerator, window air conditioner. The shared half bath is in the hall 5 feet away. The shower full bath is down stairs. Optional breakfast in the morning.

Guest access
Guests can use our shared kitchen, barbecue, and laundry room. You can go on the barn tour with your host, Rhonda and meet all the animals. And even go on their daily walk along side the stream and down to the Pond with many friendly goats and doggies. If you stay long enough you can milk a goat, help collect eggs, maybe make some yogurt, or cheese.

This little cabin is for those who know how to rough it. Dog friendly. Bring your own Sleeping bags and pillows. There is a sawdust toilet farm tent just outside the door. Also 100 feet away guests have access to house for a bathroom and showers. For those wanting farm visit, just passing through or base camp for day trips, exploring/hiking base camp. This is it. It's cozy. You can fix breakfast, come and go stay and milk a goat or pet a cow or horse. Barbecue and Fire pit and picnic table.

The cabin is about 250 sq.ft. main area has two bunk beds, one bottom bunk is double bed and a cushion available for floor.
There is coffee pot, hot plate, microwave, Fridge, sink, hot and cold water, dishes, pots and pans, table and chairs. There is a sawdust farm toilet out house just outside the cabin. Shower is at the big house 100 feet away. We have 6 friendly dogs that may bark to greet you. (Dog friendly except for pitbulls. we have had trouble with them tearing up goats. Sorry )

If you are afraid of dogs and other animals this may not be the right place for you. We are Dog friendly. However Pitbulls have been a problem. There are leash oly areas in farm animal areas. The off Leash areas are 7 to 17 acres of run free areas by pond and streams. We have 6 friendly dogs of our own that bark to greet you.

Welcome to my beautiful home on a 5 acre wooded property that's perfect for one person or a couple on Harstine Island. Big kitchen, dining area, queen bed with cozy linens, full sized bathroom, towels, toiletries, writing desks, books, TV, WiFi, games. Relax with a view of the forest, birds and wildlife. Front and back decks with patio sets. Walk in the woods or the two waterfront parks on the island. Basic breakfast, coffee, tea, snacks, condiments and spices are provided.

The space
If you want a quiet and clean setting, this is the place for you. There are no city noises or lights on this wooded 5 acre property. You will have the lower level, 900 ft.², of the house. The loft it’s not shared with anyone and it is just used for storage. The bedroom is a good size with a large closet, dresser and views of the forest and a private back deck with patio furniture. The well stocked bathroom has a large vanity and tub with shower. The gourmet kitchen has almost everything you’d need to make some great meals. I provide coffee, tea, sweeteners, creamer, some spices, condiments, fresh fruit, yogurt, granola, instant oatmeal, popcorn, snacks, ice. It's usually very quiet here and you might hear coyotes and barred owls at night. I have a chicken coop with some friendly hens and no roosters. The front and back decks have patio furniture, hammock and an umbrella. A cooler and ice packs are available to use as well as gas grill.

Please note that only legally certified service dogs (not comfort animals) will be allowed to accompany you and you must be able to clean up after it. My place is not set up to accommodate little kids. Children over 12 must be counted as a paying guest. I’ll consider 8-11 year olds with your prior good reviews, please inquire. Babies who don’t crawl or walk yet are welcome and they’re not counted as an extra paying guest. I don’t provide high chairs, etc., sorry. I do not offer the house or grounds for events, private parties, extra unpaid guests or visitors beyond the limit of two. If someone is joining you for a period shorter than your stay, you must request to add on to your reservation. I do not offer any other sleeping arrangements other than the one bed and no sleeping on the couch. A sleeping pad and linens is available for a small fee. I would prefer to open up the other bedroom for a nightly fee. Housekeeping is available for a low fee for stays longer than a week. The upper level is closed to guests. Mobile phone service can be spotty, but once you log in to the Internet, you should not have a problem, ATT works without the Wi-Fi. There is a landline for outgoing domestic calls. There is no satellite TV at this time, but both televisions have Roku or AppleTV which are fairly easy to navigate and have Netflix & Pandora. You can login with your own accounts such as Hulu, DirecTV, etc. or use what I have already set up. I do have my business on the property in the next building that is not open to the public, but I do not interact with my guests unless I am invited to. Respecting your privacy and quiet time is my top priority.

The deposit that is required to book is completely refundable if no damage to the property or house cleaning beyond what is normal occurs and it is not charged on your card, (it is on hold). I may require cleaning every two weeks for long-term stays. Upon check-in I may ask for your government issued ID or passport to make sure that it is indeed you who are staying at the property. Airbnb policy states that you may not book for other people if you will not be staying. You are 100% responsible for guests staying with you.

The space is a 27 foot standalone home (approx 250 sq ft) with cozy cedar interior that has hidden storage and foldable amenities to maximize the space efficiency.
We are located in the agrihood (community built around a common farm) of Skokomish Valley Farms, a certified organic farm adjacent to the Olympic National Forest and nearby the Hood Canal.

The space
Our tiny home is a cozy place perfect for small families or couples. There is just enough space to be comfortable, with comfy queen, full, and twin beds to lay your heads after a long day outdoors! The 2 larger spaces are lofts on either side of the house and single bedroom is enclosed. Galley style kitchen is outfitted with everything you need to make a meal if desired, including fridge/microwave/toaster oven/kettle/coffee maker.

A variety of coffee and teas, basic spices and cooking oil are included.

Hualalai Farms is a first generation family farm-we practice small scale organic farming (veggies, berries, fruit trees in spring/summer; maple syrup and morel mushrooms in fall/winter) and also raise chickens for eggs and meat, pigs, goats and honeybees.

100 percent of our profits are invested right back into our farm, making it a beautiful retreat for guests.

Our lot of 43 acres has 3 acres of privately fenced homestead. Guests will have access to the fenced in area. There are 2 designated parking spaces included in your stay. The non-fenced areas may be accessible depending on the season (blackberry season being the most common time to access these areas) and includes gravel trails around the larger farm, as well as our private hiking trail leading directly into the Olympic National Forest--miles and miles of well maintained gravel trail perfect for hiking, walking, biking and running.

In addition to the 250 sq ft tiny house, guests will have access to a common deck (approximately 50' x 8'), a propane gas grill, and adirondack chairs.

There are 4 tiny houses and a community area on our 10 acre property. Within its 12x16’ frame, this cozy tiny house offers everything you need to enjoy the forest in comfort and style. Avid cooks will approve the thoughtfully equipped kitchen with oven/air fryer, fridge with freezer, portable stove and all basic cooking tools. Cozy up with a book and enjoy the flicker of the electric fireplace. A clawfoot tub is the perfect place to have a drink or a meal. Blackout curtains provide privacy. The firepit allows you to enjoy the outdoors into the night. Cellular service is quite good for those who need to stay connected.
The cabin is a great base for exploring the Olympic National Park, Ocean Shores, Puget Sound and Hood Canal. Enjoy the scenic drive on roads that are lined with tall evergreens characteristic of the Pacific Northwest. Along the way you’ll discover little stores that offer fresh local seafood including oysters and clams.
This is forest land with common wild animals including raccoons, foxes and deer. Bear poop and cougar tracks have been sighted though the real animals have not been seen. The parking area is approximately 100 feet from the tiny house. There are 3 other cabins on the property that are also about 100 feet away with guests who seek refuge in nature like you. There is also a community area with an outdoor kitchen, restroom and fire pit. Our goal is to provide you with privacy and comfortable amenities for your stay. Hartstene Pointe is a gated residential community (not a resort) that provides a peaceful wooded retreat for its homeowners, including full time residents. The Pointe is located on an island in the South Puget Sound, which is accessed by a bridge (no ferry waits!).

All owners belong to a governing Homeowners’ Association, which develops rules and policies for residents and guests. Familiarizing yourself with, and observing the Pointe’s rules, will help maintain the Pointe’s peaceful nature and make your stay a safe and enjoyable one.

A copy of the relevant rules and behavioral expectations will be provided to you. If at any time you are unclear about the rules or have other questions about your stay, please contact us for clarification. While the Hartstene Pointe patrol and staff do not manage rentals, they are available to enforce the rules and safeguard activity in the community. Please make sure to follow rules during your stay and avoid any fines. We want to continue to share our cabin with you. Please be respectful:)

Trails are only to be used during daylight hours for your safety. Quiet hours are 24 hours a day. :) We want to encourage guests to respect the rules that continue to make this a peaceful and relaxing place to stay.

No parties. Smoking and vaping are not allowed at the cabin or in the community anywhere. Guests throwing parties or smoking will have their reservation immediately cancelled without refund and subject to fines.

Open fires are only allowed on the spit in designated pits. No open fires allowed at the cabin or in the surrounding neighborhood. Open fire violations are subject to $1,000+ fines to be paid by violating guests.

Any HOA fines incurred by guests for violating any community rules must be paid by guests.

Guest access
The entire cabin is available to you. Some items around the cabin are personal items (clothing, toiletries, etc.) that we leave for our frequent visits, so we kindly ask that you leave those alone.

Harstene Pointe is not a resort and does not have amenities rentals or guest services. It is a neighborhood with a mix of full time residents and retirees who appreciate quiet visitors. :) The office in the clubhouse is for owners, so please direct questions to us on the app or via text.

There is no grocery store on the island, and the nearest is 18 miles away! Be sure to shop for your groceries in advance and bring them in. Cara's corner store on Pickering is a good place to stop if you need any last minute snacks and Olympia Bakery serves coffee and pastries.

The hot tub and pool are at the clubhouse, about two blocks away, and are only accessible during the summer months, Memorial Day to Labor Day.

Common question: Is the island spelled Harstine or Harstene?

Both are right. The island was named after Lieutenant Henry J. Hartstene, an officer and a member of an expedition commonly called the Wilkes Expedition that explored South Puget Sound in 1841. He spelled his last name both ways, hence the confusion.

We acknowledge with gratitude that the island is the ancestral land of the Squaxin people, who steward this land and neighboring, uninhabited Squaxin Island.
