Located just about 4 or 5 miles from the SeaTac Airport, this area was once considered out in the sticks. There are now many beautiful homes and nice communities and neighborhoods connected to one another all the way from the SeaTac airport, which has also expanded south.

Many areas are being revitalized along the way as a result of progress and this particular location is seeing that too.
It is right in the path of growth and change is happening fast all over the Kent, Des Moines, Federal Way and Tacoma areas.

From this Abnb site, just head West for a few minuets to anyone of the several beaches available to roam or go out to one of the great restaurants along the shores and watch a glorious sunset.
Or, go East for a few minuets to downtown Kent for more to see. Take a nice walk along the green river trails as 20 or 30 minuets will get you out into the Cascade foothills for a scenic drive.
North to Seattle is about 15 miles and going south to Tacoma is about the same distance but the time of day and the traffic can add extra time to the commutes so,plan for that.

The home is only 8-15 min drive from Pho Saigon Garden (Vietnamese fare), there is also Maggie’s On Meeker (breakfast & lunch dishes in a cozy space), Cave Man Kitchen (Variety of meats smoked with local wood), Thai Chili Restaurant (Casual family-owned spot for Thai fare), Duke’s Seafood & Chowder (Casual option for seafoods and cocktails), Grandma Thai Cuisine (Low-key outfit for classic Thai dishes), Big Boys Kainan (simple cafe for Hawaiian & Filipino fare). If you wish to see bands and play pool in one of our local bars. The home is 6-8 mins drive from The Harp Bar and Restaurant (Irish pub with classic fare & a patio), Stimpy’s Sports Bar and Grill, JJ’s Bar and Grill, Meeker Street Bar and Grill and the Monte Carlo Pub! The Light Rail Transit system plans to extend its tracks right through this general area in the near years ahead and plans call for local boarding stations to be built just blocks away. This is great news for getting to the airport or into Seattle and in the future into Tacoma.

The home is located 11 miles/20 minutes east of Seattle Tacoma International Airport. 20 miles/30 minutes south of Seattle waterfront and cruise docks and downtown Seattle. Uber and Lyft are readily nearby and available. Grocery stores and restaurants within two miles.

The space
This is a bright & eclectic 1700 square foot three bedroom two bath home. There is a master bedroom with a queen bed, a twin daybed & a twin trundle. The master has a full attached bath & also a Wifi TV. The second bedroom has a queen bed and the third bedroom has a king-size bed with a desk/working space and a slider to the back deck. Spacious living room with a slider to the back deck. Large well-stocked kitchen with counter seating & a dining table that can seat eight. Your outdoor spaces consist of the large back deck with couch, BBQ, and a fire table as well as the a charming front courtyard with gas firepit. The home consists of two apartments & this is the upstairs apartment. The downstairs apartment is listed on Airbnb as well & is called #80'sTimeCapsule. It is possible to rent both (if available) & I could release the lock on the adjoining interior door.

There is parking for one in the driveway & I will give you the code for the key box when you are arriving. Please note, for the safety and security of the residents and guests, the building exterior and outside pathways are equipped with 24/7 security cameras.

Our check in time is 3 o'clock & check out is 11. There is a key box so late arrivals are not an issue (well lit outside also!)
No ILLEGAL drugs allowed on the premises. No smoking of any kind is allowed in the apartment & if doing so outside please be respectful of guests in the other apartment. Quiet time after 10PM & until 9AM.

Updated cozy studio apartment attached to a beautiful up-kept home on the Green River. Steps from the expansive trail, a short 10min drive to salt water marinas, beaches, restaurants, the Des Moines pier and around the corner from the golf course. Central to all major highways, but tucked away in a serene and peaceful bubble. The studio includes a fully stocked kitchenette, private balcony overlooking the garden with french doors letting natural light in and complete with blackout curtains.

Nestled in a quiet cul de sac with designated guest parking, the home sits right on the Green River with a lovely trail to enjoy, passing by a historical home and golf course. If you’re looking for a great place to stay for a work trip or a holiday, this is a wonderful option, not only for the place itself, but for the location and proximity to all major highways. It’s also 10minutes from Des Moines waterfront with beaches, parks, restaurants and outdoor movies and live music in late Spring/ Summer months. The pier and marina make for a great stroll along the Puget Sound year round. The guidebook I provide includes local shopping, dining and more for you to enjoy in our beautiful PNW/ Seattle area.

There is no street parking, vehicles must be parked in the guest parking lot ONLY.
All garbage must be bagged and put in the Grey bin.
The Blue bin is for clean recyclables, no plastic bags or lids. Follow the listed items posted on the inside of the cabinet above the sink. King County is strict on their recycling. Do not put anything in the Green bin besides food waste or pizza boxes.
Violation of house rules may result in the current stay to be terminated or fines.

Welcome to our home! We have split our home into two living spaces. We live upstairs, and this daylight basement apartment is downstairs. Two bedrooms (one king, one full), one shower, a full-sized washer and dryer, a kitchenette with full refrigerator and induction oven, and many gadgets and appliances including a 55" OLED TV in the common area for your viewing pleasure. There is a unique walkway next to the designated parking space to the private entrance and a gated backyard.

The space
As stated in the description, there are two bedrooms. One of them has a full-sized bed and closet, and the other has a king-sized bed and walk-in closet (and storage closet-no access please) which should be sufficient for 3 adult guests assuming 2 share the king-sized bed. The bathroom has a shower, two sinks, and a toilet with hose bidet as well as a closet with towels and toiletries available. There is a small laundry room with a sink and full-sized washer and dryer and an extra cat's litter box. For those with allergies, please note the house is heated by central air and our cats do have free reign when not rented excluding the bedrooms to keep the blankets as fur-free as possible; therefore cat dander may cause allergic reaction for some. There is no dishwasher. but otherwise all the standard kitchen amenities are present in the kitchenette. The sliding door is the private entrance and it further protected by a metal gate with locks. Our apologies, but this is not an ADA accessible/mobility-friendly rental due to the stairs required to access the private entrance.

Guests may access from the stairway along the side of the house into the gated backyard where the entrance is located.

Other things to note
We have chosen to include the cleaning costs in the nightly cost instead of a separate item. The longer the stay, the deeper the clean.

Please note that while we indicate that we are pet-friendly, we also ask that canine family members are not left unattended. There are many great kenneling and doggy daycare options in the area should our guests require these services.

Guests are expected to invite other parties staying, 18 years of age and older, to the reservation prior to visit.

Check-in is at 4pm, 3pm for any reservations made prior to June 27th, 2025. Adjustments to check-in and checkout times are subject to cleaner availability and the prior and following reservation dates.

This spacious and stylish mother-in-law apartment is 10 minutes from SeaTac Airport, 20 minutes from downtown Seattle, and 20 minutes from downtown Tacoma. Saltwater State Park and Des Moines Beach Park are both 8 minutes away. It's in a central location, has an easy 4-minute drive to I-5, and is nestled in a quiet, family-friendly neighborhood. Boasts a private deck, full bathroom and a fully stocked kitchen. Perfect for small gatherings and group trips.

The space
The apartment is attached to the main house and can easily host 3-4 people. It is a full one bed/one bath apartment with a den. The Den has been transformed into a bedroom that comfortably fits a twin bed for an added private sleeping space. There is a day bed with a twin size mattress in the living room and a queen size bed in the main bedroom. There is also a pack and play available in the closet for guests with small children. We are always happy to accommodate our guests if they would like additional family to join them. In these instances there is a $50 nightly fee added for any party over 4 people due to water usage, etc. The entire apartment, deck and backyard are available for guests. The apartment also has a full kitchen with all amenities needed for cooking and sharing meals. The entrance is located in the back of the house.
