Guest Reviews:

- "I can be back there in a second. I close my eyes and I am sitting in a red chair, feeling the cool breath of the morning air and smell the clean scent of salty ocean. Our 7 day stay at Eastman Waterfront Cottage was primarily to find the quiet embrace of nature. It did not disappoint. The cottage provided everything we needed including wonderfully comfortable beds, a full kitchen and a piece of heaven. We enjoyed morning walks in Crippen Park and then filled our days with reading, writing, painting and napping. Every evening we sat watching the seals romp and play while the sun magically fell behind the mountains. There is much that Bowen offers but this visit was about rest and rejuvenation. All our hopes were met!"

- "Three nights and three days of enjoying our time on Bowen Island. Accommodations are perfect, weather was great, hikes, shopping and a swim in the ocean all made for a very memorable time. Thanks Melanie. ." - "This is an amazing property -- quite literally no complaints. A great house, host and island! Looking forward to staying here again." - "Bowen Island is such a treasure and we feel so blessed to have been able to stay at Eagle Nest. The cabin and bunkhouse was clean, the kitchen was well stocked and the rooms were very quiet. Our teenagers appreciated having their own rooms in the bunkhouse. It was more than enough room for our family of 4. The layout of the common space felt spacious and well organized. The landscaping was just beautiful. We live in the country and are used to our privacy. This was important to us when considering where we would stay on our vacation. Eagle Nest felt very private even though there are other homes and cabins nearby. Our host was very helpful before our trip and there was great communication. I also felt like we could contact her at any time during our trip with concerns. It was very comforting. I would absolutely love to come and stay again someday. Thank you for sharing your place with us!"

Guest Reviews:

- "The VRBO listing left out a lot, like parking for our car on the Port Moody side was included. The address given for the parking is for the business, the parking garage is approached from the street behind it with no label or street number. Links didn't work. If you have booked and are having trouble, wait through the phone message that says they will email you back within a couple of days and they will answer. The four of us enjoyed our night on the forested retreat on the far side of the Burrard Inlet at the remote, boat access only, Cape Carraholly Retreat. The pontoon shuttle was plush with a seating capacity of around eight people. The 10 minute ride each way was really enjoyable. Mendes, our driver was sweet and helpful with our bags. When we arrived, the ATV took us with bags, to and from our cabin. All of the staff were really nice. We hung out a the beach shack which had comfortable seating for two people. We did some hiking. They recommended that we carry bear spray, which we didn't have. Crossing into the US as of 6/29/23, agents from both countries told me it was legal to take over their borders. Four inch memory foam was on two of the beds was too thick and squishy. One of the mattresses was particularly soft. The third bed was hard. With windows open, the train whistles all night across the inlet were loud. The kitchen lacked a lot of items. A great get away, especially if you live in Vancouver, according to the other guests."

Guest Reviews:

- "Overall a very pleasant stay" - "Close to ferry. Just some tents behind a house with an outdoor shower serving many tents. Terrible port a potti. Unlit at night and very dark. Electrical cords all around in dark to trip you. Poor bedding NOT luxury and miss sized duvet. Won’t stay here again. Good racket but too much for what it is!" - "I was very unhappy. The pictures online suggested I was getting a “cozy retreat“ room in a hotel or guesthouse. In fact, this was a glorified campsite, and I spent the night in a large tent for seven people.. Furthermore, having paid almost $250 US, they had no record of me when I arrived. I have never had an experience like this with your site."

Guest Reviews:

- "Mike is helpful and responsible guy who help us a lot during staying in there. Bathroom is still need to upgrade but they are working on now so I want to go back once it's done." - "PROCEED WITH CAUTION. I wasn't able to get through to the VRBO host despite multiple messages and calls, and only finally heard from someone about 3 hours AFTER our check in time. The listing has very few pictures that do an o-k job of demonstrating what the tent looks like, but the other details about the rental and the area are omitted. There are many tents/enclosures on the property, all which share the same bathroom, kitchen and showers. The bathrooms were never cleaned over our 3-night stay there, which really left a bad smell in the air, especially for one of the rental tents nearby. The landscapers did a good job of maintaining the place, but they mowed the lawn every day for many hours, which felt a bit excessive, since it made hearing the wildlife from my tent impossible. One guy who had started his first day of work on the property came and asked me for water since the property owner never came to meet him, give him proper tools, or tell him much at all. The parking lot for the property was also almost always full at night, forcing many people to park far away and walk in. Due to the tight parking space provided, my friends car had its paint scraped off by another car as it left the lot. I also heard that one particular tent was QUADRUPLE booked that weekend. In the end, we did manage to have fun, but it felt like a cash grab from the host who lives in their large modern abode, on the same property. One would also expect the ocean to be closer as 'oceans crest'."

Guest Reviews:

- "Only 1 out of 3 baseboard heaters worked. Neither the beadroom baseboard heater nor the bathroom heater worked. There was not one in the living room. There was a gas fireplace in the living room that worked most of the time but the breaker had to be reset at one point because there was no power. I messaged on two different days to ask about the heat and did not get a response. The week I was staying had extremely cold weather and I had to make double ziplock bags with hot water to warm the bed. The water was very hot. The shower head/sprayer was not functioning. I had a lot of hot baths. The washing machine was extremely dirty and smelly and the dryer seems to not be venting properly. I knocked on the main house door because I had trouble with the door code. The owner was friendly."

BOAT SHUTTLE:

You do not need to book your boat shuttle; you are automatically booked for a boat shuttle upon booking your reservation. The meeting point for the boat shuttle is at the Rocky Point boat launch. There are 2 docks; the boat normally arrives at the right dock if you are facing the water. Our Tritoon boat is white with a green canopy. We have a strict check-in of 4:00 p.m. and check-out time of 10:00 a.m. since we combine different groups onto the same boat shuttle and we must ensure that our boat shuttle services are as time and fuel efficient as possible. The check-in and check-out times refers to the boat departure from the meeting point. Our boat shuttle accommodates up to 11 guests at a time, so if we have too many groups with check-ins at the same time, we will contact you to coordinate an earlier or later check-in or check-out at no extra cost. Otherwise, alternative times for the boat shuttles (2:00-6:00 p.m. for check-ins & 8:00 a.m.- 12:00 p.m. for check-outs) are provided on an inquiry basis only (not guaranteed) and have an extra cost of $100 per boat shuttle. Please note that providing shuttles at alternative times is quite labor and fuel intensive so the fee is enforced as compensation. The uniqueness of the property offers unique challenges and costs.

ARRIVE ON-TIME:

Since other groups will also be waiting for the same boat shuttle, please arrive on-time. If you are more than 15 minutes late, the boat shuttle will leave without your group and you will have to wait until the next boat shuttle time slot. If another boat shuttle is not already scheduled, you will have to pay the extra $100 boat shuttle fee.

PARKING:

We recommend that you drop off your guests and luggage at the Rocky Point boat launch before parking your vehicle. We provide parking at the Legion Club 119- located about a 10-minute walking distance from the boat launch.

ON-SITE TRANSPORTATION:

Our team will transport guests & their luggage from the dock to each unit in our side-by-side ATV, unless your unit is located in front of the dock.

ON-SITE CHECK-IN:

Our team on-site will help get you checked into your unit and provide a brief demonstration on the use of certain amenities, both within your unit and the property. Please ask any questions you may have during the check-in process.
