- "Beds were very comfy Kitchen very well stocked Needed hot tub towels Totally exceeded expectations" - "The house was in a fantastic location, with lots of sleeping areas, lots of space for people to be in different parts of the house for quiet time or social time. Kitchen was great and well equipped Definitely would go back. Well done!" - "We stayed at The Dark and Stormy the week before Christmas and enjoyed an amazing time in the snow. We were there with three families including four kids. The kids could walk out the door and sled in the snow, which they did all day for most of our week long stay. The place is the closest you can get to the lifts so on the days that we skied we were just steps away. The place itself is absolutely beautiful. The pictures online don't do it justice. The three floors made for an incredibly comfortable experience for our party of 10. The kitchen was fantastic and had everything we needed. The online watching options, board games, steam shower, hot tub and pool table kept us all engaged despite the many hours inside together. I would just note that if you choose to bring your own linens that this does include bringing your own blankets and towels and while this sounded like a good idea to us it ended up taking a lot of room in an already cramped car. Otherwise, the place has what you need! Finally, the hosts were super responsive and accommodating. The neighbourhood had a little issue with the water system during the unusual winter storm and the host responded immediately. We would highly recommend this place and hope that we can find a time to get back there soon!"

- "We had an absolutely wonderful time at Michael's cabin by Cultus Lake! From the moment we arrived, the check-in and check-out process was clear and easy to understand, thanks to Michael's excellent communication. The exterior of the cabin, beautifully made of wood, gave it a charming rustic feel that we loved. Inside, the cabin was even more gorgeous. Michael adorned it with unique and amazing decorations, featuring European-like architecture and design, such as the floral metal stair railings, stained-glass windows, and European-style patio doors. The attention to detail in the décor truly made the space feel special. The cabin was equipped with everything we needed to make our stay memorable. Plus, its proximity to Cultus Lake, just a stone's throw away, made it an ideal location for our family getaway. We made wonderful memories together in this beautiful home, and we highly recommend Michael's place to anyone looking for a relaxing and enjoyable retreat. We will definitely be back!"

Great game room, lots of towels, clean bedding, and a beautiful interior, etc. I would definitely recommend this place." - "Even better than the photos showed! The cabin was fabulous, spacious and very comfortable for our family of 8. The games room was a big hit! Great cabin, great host!" - "My family and I really enjoyed our stay. The main floor was cozy and accommodated our large group well. Not a lot of storage in the kitchen but we utilized other spaces of the cabin that had ample storage for our snacks. The master bedroom with walk in shower worked well for my aunts and they also enjoyed the cozy fireplace and couch. The games room downstairs provided hours of entertainment for both the young and older adults. We had to change the batteries in one of the games but found batteries in the mud room so was easy to do. Everything was well-labeled. We could have used a potato masher and pasta utensil but overall kitchen was well stocked. The cabin is pretty new and overall quite clean. A couple things to note: this is a duplex so you can hear sounds occasionally from the other side and secondly, we were required to take the garbage away ourselves. The host was very responsive and when I brought up the garbage issue, he said we could have left it so maybe this is something that could be figured out when booking."

Lovely, cozy rustic log cabin (townhouse) on beautiful Sasquatch Mountain, formerly Hemlock Resort. Now a year-round destination!
Enjoy all the mountain has to offer year-round or just relax at this cozy chalet and build memories. Lots of games, videos, and a smart TV.
This cabin is ideally suited for 6 people (that's how many fit around the dining table) however it can accommodate up to 10, with some couples sharing beds.
We are part of a 12-unit strata. Being a good, respectful neighbour is important. The is NO partying or smoking allowed, quiet time is 11:30pm; a maximum of TWO cars is allowed on property at any time, including one in our private carport. This is strictly enforced.
The strata may fine us if our guests break the rules. In turn we will have to retain your security deposit in order to cover this cost.
There are lots of alternate properties on the mountain that allow partying and provide ample parking space. Unfortunately we are not one of those.
While the chalet is rustic, inside you will find all the comforts and amenities to make your stay comfortable. Comfortable beds with memory foam mattress toppers, blackout window coverings, clean slippers at your disposal, lots of large plush bath towels for everyone, plenty of soft warm blankets including electric heated ones, cozy electrical fireplaces and a new gas stove in the living room..
Well appointed kitchen with everything you need to make gourmet meals or quick snacks. Fondue and raclette sets are provided (of course!)
The loft is everyone's favourite area. Please be aware though, it is only accessible by a steep wood ladder. Children must be supervised on the ladder and not be left alone in the loft.
**The loft has no window so fire escape is also by the ladder. It is however equipped with a fire alarm and fire extinguisher**.
Railings on the staircase are spaced out enough that a child could climb through. Again, please supervise young children closely. This chalet is not kid proofed. Obviously no climbing over any railing is permitted!
Please be advised that power outages happen occasionally on the mountain and may last quite some time. While we realize this is inconvenient, we also provide many tools to still make your stay enjoyable such as many flashlights, a free standing gas burner, and even a generator located on the balcony. Additionally, the main heat source for the cabin is a gas fireplace in the living room so you will still have heat. Consequently, we regret that we do not offer refunds for any night spent in the cabin due to power outages. We also do not offer refunds for poor weather/driving conditions or for unsatisfactory skiing/snowboarding conditions.
You MUST carry chains between Oct 1 and April 30. Good winter tires are also strongly recommended. It is your responsibility to make sure your car is equipped to travel up a snowy mountain. I cannot offer last minute refunds if you get stuck in the snow
Please be advised that log construction is beautiful and unique but unfortunately it does not provide any noise insulation. If there are people next door you will hear them and they will hear you. That's why it is important to observe the no-party and quiet time rules for everyone's enjoyment of their time on the mountain.
We have installed a Minut noise monitor that will alert you and me should the volume be excessive in the unit. Neighbouring units have the same.
Please rest assured this device does NOT record any audio or video, only noise levels in decibels shown on a graph.
Past 11pm please keep your voices down and keep music/tv volume to a minimum.
Earplugs are provided just in case.
We have installed a security camera in the carport.

Our luxury 2 bedroom train caboose is nestled in a rhododendron forest with endless private hiking trails to waterfalls, creek, bridges and breathtaking views. Conveniently located on #7 highway for easy access to outdoor adventures in Harrison Hot Springs or Sasquatch Provincal Park or easy commutes to Vancouver, Chilliwack and the entire Fraser Valley.
- "Difficulties with earlier travel meant that we arrived at the caboose late into the night, with a scheduled departure of the next morning. We had a short time of exploration of the trails running through the property in the morning, but would have enjoyed seeing more; the trails - which include wooden structures such as stairways, gazebos, bridges, shelters, and boardwalks as well as earthen trails - provide views of the Fraser River from a variety of angles. The caboose itself is generous in size, with plenty of room for the three adults in my family who stayed there. The kitchen is well equipped, and the bedrooms and bathrooms are fitted with quality linens and necessities. This is a beautifully repurposed structure, and the owners have an intriguing vision for expanding the site."

Hygge, a Danish way of live I learned from my relatives is translated to mean "a quality of coziness and comfortability that embodies a feeling of contentment and or well being" That is our hope for you when you come and stay at our newly built cabin in beautiful Sunshine Valley! Sink into the comfy bean bag chairs and be warned by the wood burning stove as you gaze to the snow covered mountains at the large windows. We are a nature lovers play ground with extensive trails for ATVs and snow mobiles. Or head to Manning Park just half an hour away to ski in the winter or swim and hike in the summer. We are a new development and some of our neighbors are still in the progress of building so you may hear some construction noise, especially in the warmer seasons and during the week, But be sure to walk around the neighborhood to check out the variety of cool architecture!!
- "The house was clean and beautiful! Easy instructions to follow for the woodstove, amazing views, this was the perfect spot to relax for a weekend. Lots of nice items to use while you’re there, toys and board games for kids and adults, this was a perfect getaway 👍👍 5 stars through and through" - "Just getting out with the family and walking in the snow which was a surprise because we didn't think we were going to have any snow. So we went on night walks and in the afternoon. We look forward to going back"

Enjoy a tranquil retreat conveniently located near all Cutlus Lake activities. This cozy cabin is surrounded by trees, offering a serene haven. It's just 1.5 km from the main beach and right across from Cutlus Lake Golf Club. Within walking distance are restaurants, pubs, liquor stores, and a convenience store. The cabin features central heating, ensuring a comfortable stay year-round. Experience fun at Cutlus Lake water park and nearby adventure parks, all within a kilometer.
- "This place was clean, affordable, and had an amazing location. Host was great. My daughter and I had so much fun at the cultus lake parks and staying so close to these attractions made everything so easy. Would recommend and will be coming back!!" - "Had a lovely time in this cute little cabin. Pros: beautiful location with outdoor patio seating. They had a grill and outdoor sound system but I’m not sure if they were usable as I didn’t need it. The room was cozy and very comfy bed. Best sleep after a long day of exploring cultus. Had a tv that was guest connected to a couple of streaming sites, also we can connect our own streaming sites to the tv with Decent wifi connection. Appliances to warm food as well as a fridge to keep food cool. Also there was a coffee maker and coffee pot as well as coffee and tea packs for all those coffee and tea lovers. They also supplies cutlery, hand soap. Shampoo, tissue paper, toilet papers and hand towels, all basic necessities. Warm water for those nice refreshing baths. Cons: My only con was that the bathroom was not attached to the cabin and I would have to exit the cabin and go to the back. Not really a big issue, but I had to keep putting on my boots to walk to the back especially when I needed to make my late night bathroom trips also it was really blades and the outdoor lights delayed in automatically turning on. The owners were also very clear and helpful through texts and everything went smoothly. Some others may find the lack of a stove for cooking limiting if you wanted to cook food, but not for me as I mostly ate outside in the restaurants around the area. My final verdict is that I would recommend this place 10/10 as a solo traveller. Definitely coming back. :) "

About this space
The Bigfoot Bungalow was built so you could go to a chilled out ski mountain and stay in luxury. Our family friendly home was rebuilt to create memories whether its from a day of adventure or just playing games while keeping warm from the snow outside. We have done extra work to make this the quietest unit in the building so you can relax and enjoy your stay. Either way when you leave The Bigfoot Bungalow you'll be planning your trip back and be talking about each stay for many years to come.
The space

Fully renovated space with.....
~ King Bed
~ Automatic back up Generator
~ 3! thats right, 3 x 70" smart TV's
~ Fast Wifi
~ Extra noise reducing from other units
~ Large shower to fit 2
~ Loft for kids to have their own area
~ LED color changing lights in Kitchen, Living room, Master bedroom & Loft
~ Kitchen table for everyone to sit at
~ Washer & Dryer
~ BBQ
~ View of ski slopes
~ walking distance to ski lifts
~ Drive in drive out for motorized toys
~ Log home
Logs provide no noise reduction between units but we are an end unit and the one shared wall we created false walls with noise reducing insulation and special drywall to ensure the least amount of disruption for your stay.
The mountain can lose power for days but we won't! There is a fully automatic back up generator installed. Power shuts off and within seconds it turns back on.
The kids (and adults) will love the Sasquatch game inside the unit as well. Some say they don't exist but we know there have been many spottings inside the unit. ; )
Other things to note
The master bedroom has a king size bed with multiple lighting options so you can relax and watch the 70” tv. Should the kids or other guest want to take over the loft it will sleep 6+ in double beds and has a 70” tv as well so they can have their own space. The secondary bedroom also sleeps two comfortably in a queen sized bed.
The living room has an amazing 40” snowball crystal chandelier to add to the luxury of the cabin. It also has another 70” tv for everyone to enjoy or just to hang out and enjoy the fire with the floor to ceiling fireplace with special lighting. Oh and of course there is wifi everywhere in the unit so you can stay in touch with the rest of the world should you choose to do so.
We knew there is always a wait for the bathroom so we designed the main floor bathroom so 3 people could use it each with their own privacy. The toilet room, sink room with custom made wine barrel sink and copper piping faucet and lastly the walk in shower for this who may be a little taller!
Don’t forget the full custom kitchen with specialty lighting, open shelving concept, hood fan, which is not common in these units and wine rack. Don’t forget it has a full sized dishwasher and ice maker in the freezer. Let’s spend more time enjoying your time rather than washing dishes. If throwing food on the barbq is more your style then we gotcha! It’s piped right in on the front deck so no worries on running out of fuel while cooking.
Also our unit has a fully automatic back up generator. If the power goes out, which it very frequently does you won’t be left in the dark! In less time then it would take you to find a candle the lights will be back on and your holiday can continue just like it was. When power comes back on you’ll probably not even notice the generator kick off. All to make your stay at The Bigfoot Bungalow one worth talking about for years to come.
- "Bigfoot Bungalow was the perfect place to get away with our group of 8 friends! Cosy comfy home-away-from-home. We appreciated the thoughtful small touches and details: plenty of extra blankets, pillows, and toiletries, fully-stocked pantry, retro game consoles, great selection of board games, and the fun Sasquatch game! Lance and Malissa were super responsive and helpful throughout our stay. Can’t wait to come back in the winter with the kids!"

Our stylish 2-level cabin in Hope, with striking interior curved-wood walls, features tantalizing mountain views, a private backyard creek and hot tub. A cozy 2 bedroom A-frame near beaches, parks, the main town, and walking distance from the fishing and swimming paradise of Kawkawa Lake.
This is a private mountain/lake escape with all the modern conveniences of home! The spacious living room even features a sofa bed, day bed, and a high-efficiency gas fireplace- perfect for a few extra guests.
- "If only all vacation rentals were like this. The creek running through the back yard, with bridge to nicely laid out decking and lounge/hot tub was far nicer than we expected. The back yard oasis is serene and private. The house was spacious and comfortable - it is actually 2 1/2 bedrooms (but just one bathroom), so could handle several couples or extended family very easily. The kitchen utility was way above average with sharp knives, condiments, and a real vent hood! The owner clearly cares about maintaining a quality experiance for guests. Some minor cautions or recommendations: 1) the lake is not within walking distance, but the public park is 1 minute drive away. 2) go to Sucker's Creek to swim in the creek - lovely and far less crowded, 3) we were there during a brutal heat wave and the AC struggled to keep up, but shouldnt be a problem in normal summer temps. Highly recommended and quality vacation rental!"

Hiking in Bear Mountain Park; Water Playing in Hayward Lake; Camping in Rolley Lake; Shooting at Mission & District Rod & Gun Club; Cheering at Mission Raceway Park.
- "The log house was lovely. We were there during the Feb snowfall so little could be done outdoors. It was equipped with most kitchen essentials but we couldn’t find a cork screw. All in all a pleasant stay. " - "Nice property. " - "We had a little mini 2 night vacation as a family. The cabin was spacious and easily accommodated our family group A nice escape from the city without being far. A couple downsides - no microwave and only one bowl for serving. We had to improvise to set out our meals and snacks. The single cup coffee machine was broken so we needed to go get instant coffee to brew a pot. Beds only had flat sheets on the mattress and then a comforter No top sheet Bathroom drawers had long hairs in them and one grill pan had been put away unwashed But other than that very clean. Other than these small inconveniences it was a great stay. Kitchen is stocked with pots and pans and plates and cups etc. but no sugar for the coffee so be sure to bring anything you might need. Cabin was very cold on arrival but heated up quite quickly thanks to a cozy gas fireplace in addition to central heat. Host has quick communication. Check in process was easy. "

Other things to note
-We are in a gated community and the gate can be tricky at times. If you have severe allergies, this may not be the place for you.
-We are a very small community. There are no doctors or hospitals in the Sunshine Valley. The closest hospital is in Hope. Hope is 10 minutes away in perfect conditions.
-We do not have any staff on site that can help you if a problem arises, such as getting stuck in the snow.
-There is no laundry in the cabin but a coin laundry facility a one minute walk away.
-winter weather in the Sunshine Valley can be extreme. If you are not used to driving in snow and do not have four wheel drive, this isn’t the place for you.
-I would only recommend our cabin in the winter if you are used to snow conditions.
-there is a plow, but it is sporadic and only does the roads. If it snows while you are up there, you would need to shovel.
-our cabin is very difficult to find in the dark - I urge you to go while it is light out.

Welcome to Les Colibris!
Please read the entire listing
Rusticity and quaint cabin charm meet comfort and modern amenities in this log construction townhouse located minutes from the lifts!
Enjoy skiing, boarding, snowshoeing in winter; hiking, disc golf and mountain biking in summer, and of course relaxation and quality family time yearlong!
NO PARTIES allowed.
We may be able to accommodate up to 10 guests - pls inquire.
The space
Ideally suited for 6 guests (that's how many fit around the kitchen table), this cabin can accommodate up to 10 guests, with some couples sharing beds. There is a total of 8 beds/ sofa beds/ mattresses for your use. Babies and up to 2 pets are welcome.
We have kept the inside as original as possible (think rustic mountain shelter) but incorporated all the modern amenities to make your stay enjoyable: comfortable beds with memory foam mattress toppers; blackout drapes, thick, plush bath towels; lots of soft warm blankets including electric heated ones; plenty of pillows of different firmness; modern appliances; cozy electrical fireplaces; new gas fireplace in the living room; small bbq grill on the balcony boasting fantastic views on the mountain, a small desk work area and a private covered carport.
We offer fast WiFi and a smart TV but you can also choose to enjoy a 'disconnected', laid-back stay playing a board game, making a puzzle or watching one of many family classics on DVD and VHS, or playing the vintage PS2 in the loft.
There is one portable A/C unit you can use to cool rooms one at a time.
We are part of a strata that has rules in place in order to ensure everyone's comfort and enjoyment of their property. Please make sure you are able to observe these rules before proceeding with your booking. They really just boil down to 'please be a good, respectful guest and neighbour' :)
*no partying
*no smoking and no open flames
*max of 2 cars on site
*no unregistered guest past 11:30pm
*no etching anything in the logs!! It is not fun or cute, it is vandalism
*quiet time is 11:30pm
Log construction is unique and beautiful however it offers no noise insulation. Noise travels through the walls to and from neighbouring units. Earplugs are available for your use at night just in case.
Most units including ours are equipped with a noise monitor that will alert guests when noise levels get above the acceptable thresholds. Rest assured these devices do NOT record any form of audio or video. They are Airbnb-approved and were developed for the very purpose of keeping the peace in short-term rentals.
Kids of all ages love staying at our cabin and have compared it to a tree house. There are many books for them in French and English, puzzles, games, and a variety of toys in the closet under the roof. A compact crib and a high chair are also available.
**Please note** however that our cabin has not been kid-proofed and presents some specific hazards to very young children such as steep stairs with railing spaced out enough that they could climb through, a steep ladder to the loft, an opening from the den to the staircase below that they should never try to climb out of... in summary young children are welcome here but need to be closely supervised at all times. Young children should not be left in the den or in the loft without adult supervision.
SLEEPING
You have two queen-size beds, one double sofabed, one double+ futon, two twin beds, two additional twin mattresses that you can put where you want on the floor, and a compact crib.
KITCHEN
The kitchen has most of the supplies, pots and pans, dishes and appliances that you may need.
Original cute vintage cabinets are paired with modern stainless steel appliances and many small appliances to prepare all your favourite meals and snacks, including a fondue set and a raclette set, blender, waffle maker, rice cooker etc…
A starting supply of coffee and tea is provided but you may wish to bring more.
Basics such as salt, pepper, oil, vinegar, flour, sugar, condiments etc... are also available.
Our cabin is pet friendly - up to 2 pets per stay. Pets need to be registered at time of booking and a $20 pet fee applies. Although we clean, vacuum and sanitize very thoroughly after each stay, if you have severe pet (or dust) allergies I would recommend you do not book this place.
Guest access
Before booking please familiarize yourself with the area. This is a small ski resort, about 45 min from surrounding towns such as Agassiz or Harrison Hot Springs. The closest supermarket is in Agassiz but there is a small convenience store on the mountain with basic necessities, souvenirs and snacks.
In the off season there isn't too much going on on the mountain besides relaxation, hiking, disc golf. The new aerial park and the Holly Mogan's restaurant and Bar are open during the summer months.
The drive up and down the mountain takes about 20 min along a narrow winding road. The last few km are not paved and are rough, with lots and lots of potholes. Best to consider it part of the adventure and enjoy the magnificent views on the surrounding mountains and valley below!
IMPORTANT You must carry chains in your vehicles from Oct. 1 to April 30 to drive up the mountain. I regret that I can no longer offer last minute refunds due to your car not making it up or getting stuck in the snow!
The strata is in charge of plowing the parking lot. There are also snow shovels in the carport for your use if necessary. Note that if your car is not parked properly, then the snowplow cannot do its job. No street parking in winter.
We will give you the access code on the lockbox a couple of days prior to check-in.
Other things to note
There is a security camera in the carport.
Bears and other wildlife can be present. Exercise caution.
The mountain is home to many mice and they occasionally come into homes . We have professional pest control come through the unit regularly but we cannot 100% guarantee you won't run into a little mouse. No guest has ever mentioned seeing one though. Please do your part and do not leave exposed food or trash anywhere.
Power outages happen on the mountain, especially in the winter time and can sometimes last more than a day . While such events are out of our control, we provide lots of flashlights and a stand-alone gas burner so you can still cook. Should the outage last for a particularly long time, we have an emergency generator. Please only use if you know how! We have experienced long power outages and have found them very manageable with the help of the above. Therefore we do not offer refunds for power outages for any used nights. If you decide to shorten your stay because of a power outage and vacate the unit before noon we will however refund any unused nights.
We also do not offer refunds for poor weather/roads/ skiing conditions. Make sure you are aware of the driving/skiing conditions before heading up the mountain. Chains MUST be carried in the vehicle between Oct.1 and April 30.
By proceeding with your booking you certify that you have read this listing in its entirety, that you understand the hazards (in particular for young children) and that you agree to observe the rules or risk losing your security deposit to cover any fine levied by the strata.

Fully renovated space with.....
~ King Bed
~ Automatic back up Generator
~ 3! thats right, 3 x 70" smart TV's
~ Fast Wifi
~ Extra noise reducing from other units
~ Large shower to fit 2
~ Loft for kids to have their own area, with a PS3 and Xbox 360 (
~ LED color changing lights in Kitchen, Living room, Master bedroom & Loft

Set in the forested wonderland of Hemlock Valley on Sasquatch Mountain, our home is an expression of mid-century styling overlayed with touches of beautiful British Columbia.
The perfect mountain retreat for families, a small group of friends or couples looking to escape the city. Come here to search out solitude whether it’s time connecting to nature, romantic weekend, skiing/snowboarding, hiking, or curling up with a good book in our open plan living space centred around a wood burning fire.
The space
Sasquatch A-frame was built in 1978 and showcases the classic post and beam construction in its structure. Upon purchasing this property in early 2021 we have sought to renovate it with modern conveniences whilst maintaining its historical charm.
We truly love this cabin and want to share the joy we get from it with others. The style is an expression of our love of timeless design and a commitment to challenging ourselves to be mindful of our impact on people and planet.
Each purchase we’ve made seeks to prioritize used items from local vintage and second hand shops. For the items we’ve bought new, such as linens, artwork, and some furniture we’ve voted for small Canadian businesses that seek to value the resources they use and the people throughout their supply chain. Throughout the renovation we’ve sought to re-purpose or renew materials and items found in the house to fit within our own style.
Guest access
Hemlock Valley road can be very changeable through the seasons and snow tires are a must in the winter. Transportation for BC advises that all vehicles from October to May come equipped with chains or traction devices on their vehicles.
Parking is limited to our driveway, which through the winter can often be single lane due to the significant amount of snow.
Other things to note
Particularly during the Spring and Autumn seasons it is very important to keep the doors closed and locked if you head out for activities. We have a few families of bears that can often be found roaming through our yard and they are curious in nature. Keeping the doors closed will ensure you do not return home to any unwelcome guests.
Please do not feed or entice the bears. We respect the land and natural habitat on which the cabin lies and ask the same of you and your group.

Other things to note
There is Starlink satellite internet and it's been getting up to 80Mbps upload and download speeds so it's perfect for the work from home/anywhere set up that many people find themselves in today.
This is a remotely located ski hill. Mountain conditions are a strong likelihood so please be prepared. There are occasional power outages on the mountain but this is part of life in a small ski resort tucked up in the mountains. Flashlights in case of emergencies and also have a few portable, safe to use inside, propane buddy heaters are provided. There is a large back up battery bank that can be used to power the fridge and other essential personal items during an extended power outage.
The seasons change and are unpredictable so please keep up to date with information regarding the mountain resort on their website and social media regarding opening tines and available activities.
As noted in the neighborhood section below, commercial options are limited so to ensure you have the best stay possible it is recommended that you bring all your food and drink with you. Hemlock Valley is a quiet alpine community. The closest large grocery store is Super Valu in Agassiz and is a 40 minute drive. Agassiz also has a medical clinic and dentist. The nearest hospital is Chilliwack General Hospital which is just over an hour away in good driving conditions. There is another small general store Deroche, about a 35 minute drive away for basics which guests pass by on the drive from Vancouver. If you are coming from the West, the best place to stop for major supplies is Mission. There is a Walmart, Real Canadian Superstore and most other major retail outlets. Once up on the mountain, services are very limited. The last place to fuel up is just before the turn up onto Hemlock Valley Road at the Chealis Band Store and FasGas Plus.

The space
A beautiful location at the base of Sasquatch mountain. A short walk to the lifts/resort or choose to simply just to relax, unwind and enjoy Mother Nature and great views of the mountain in the comfort of our cabin.
Ski in/out access. Our duplex (#1 & #2) are a short walk from the lifts, resort, Molly Hogan's Restaurant, walking & x-country trails and more. There's even a small sliding hill closeby for wee ones to enjoy fun on a magic carpet or sled.
We are one half of a duplex like may other cabins up here were built in the 1980s. It's location, character and ambience are key elements our family enjoys all year 'round.
Mother Nature's continual and seasonal displays up here can cause awe-struck moments. Here are 3 of my most memorable ...
1. We arrived early one January to bare ground / no snow at the cabin. It began to snow Friday dinner time and continued to snow through to Sunday morning dumping about 3 feet of picture perfect white fluffy snow!! Just know it can be alluring and meszmerizing to sit by the fire and watch the simple beauty of snow falling when there's no where to be and nothing to do except enjoy the magic of the moment. Our front deck was filled with fresh snow and the huge stack of snow on the railings was so cool. By Sunday morning, the clouds parted and the sun came out proudly displaying an amazing winter wonderland that everyone enjoyed!
2. I woke up early (around 2am) one morning and got up to add another log to the fire. I looked out the window towards the mountain and was caught in awe at the amazing vastness and closeness of huge, bright stars in the dark sky right above us - they were so close and so amazing!!
3. I love how the weather changes up here and the sun can play hide 'n seek with the clouds but it's how the clouds move into the mountains outside our front window bringing a low lying fog-like mystical display to only a portion or lower part of the mountain .. and then as quickly as it arrives, it changes and leaves again. We even enjoyed an incredible display of northern lights this fall, and there's nothing more breath-taking than enjoying a huge full moon against the mountain...
Being part of Mother Nature in all seasons and her incredibly beautiful displays is just another special offering of Sasquatch and Hemlock Valley. Come. relax, explore, enjoy and be mesmerized.
Guest access
Guests enjoy full access to the entire home (unit #1 of the duplex) with the exception of 1 locked room near the entrance with supplies and homeowners' personal items).
Our cabin is half of a duplex (unit #1) and can sleep up to 11. The other half of the duplex (unit #2) can sleep up to 14. Renting both sides of the duplex can easily accommodate a large family, group or special gatherings. Reach out to discuss the possibility of renting both sides which can easily accommodate up to 25.
Other things to note
1. Our backup generator automatically kicks in to provide continuous power and heat during occasional mountain outages - a key comfort factor for you and your guests.
2. Sasquatch Mtn. doesn't have a 'grocery store' so please make sure you bring all your own food, beverages, condiments, etc. to be self-sufficient (and kindly remember to take your food and belongings back home at the end of your stay).
3. Stairs to reach the main and top floors.
4. We remotely turn the heat on in the cabin a few hours before your est. arrival time. We suggest starting and tending the fireplace often to create the 'just right' warmth during your stay. There is a box of firewood on the main level and additional firewood outside by the front door.
5. Extra pillows, blankets available on site. Coffee, some tea options, sugar, whitener, salt/pepper, some seasonings, paper towels, dishsoap, dishwasher soap, handsoap, facecloths/towels, bedding are provided.
6. First Aid kit on site and First Aid available on the mountain during ski season and regular ski hours. Please note the closest hospitals are over an hour away - Chilliwack General - 1 hr 6 min; Fraser Canyon Hospital in Hope - 1 hr 9 min; or Abbotsford Regional Hospital - 1 hr 15 min.
7. Good snow tires mandatory and must carry fitted snow chains between Oct.1-Apr.30.
8. The roads up to the mountain during winter are quite well maintained especially on weekends, and are quite windy (with a few hairpin corners in spots) so care and attention is required.
9. The road is paved 1/2 way up and then packed gravel road into the ski area which usually is good but occasionally can get potholes - please drive slowly and carefully.
10. Sasquatch has a firework BAN year-round - check fire status - however, the mountain coordinates a fun fireworks display usually on New Years Eve.
11. Very clean, sanitized cabin that follows covid and mice prevention protocols. For all the time we've been here we haven't seen any mice or rodents but the reality is we co-exist in this beautiful area and nature.
