Amazing star gazing (several skylights in the cabin). "

Looking for a quiet, romantic getaway or a friends weekend retreat? Come escape to this idyllic lakeside cottage with dreamlike views. The intimate indoor setting boasts a full kitchen, bath, bedroom and living/sleeping space. Picture window views across the cabin showcase both the lake and mountains. Sleeps up to 3 guests. The private dock offers plenty of spacious outdoor living with entertainment seating, a propane grill, lakeside fire pit, kayak/SUP board and parking for up to two jet skis.

Revealing one of the best views on the lake, the spacious private dock and remodeled 1928 cottage are uniquely positioned down the hill from the road. Accessing the cottage and dock requires traversing a moderately steep series of steps, natural dirt path and stairs.

The private dock has plenty of space to stretch out and enjoy the sun and lake activities. There are also two spaces available for parking your own jet skis (a public boat launch is located just down the road). Take a swim or explore the lake on our kayak and SUP board (a few sizes of life jackets are also provided).

The inside cottage space is similiar to a studio, broken up into living and sleeping areas. When you enter the cottage, a fully equipped kitchen (Dishes/utensils/pots/pans provided) is on your right for whipping up snacks and meals.

There is a small "living area" with a sofa, chair and ottoman. This is the perfect spot to savor your morning cup of 'joe or glass of wine in the evening while gazing out on the magical lake and mountain views. We provide tray tables for eating meals indoors.

Behind the sofa is a queen size bed along with a small bedroom off the living area with a double bed (room is separated by curtain from the main living space) sleeping up to 3 guests in total. All bedding and pillows are provided for each bed.

Next to the room with the double bed is the bath which has a toilet, sink and shower. Towels, soap and shampoo/conditioner are provided.

In the evenings, relax outside in front of the fire while cooking up s'mores and gazing up at the stars. The positioning of the fire pit allows for the feeling of being "on" the water, can't get any closer without getting in! Perfect spot to end the day after day trips and hikes throughout the Olympic National Park. (Burn Ban in effect July 1st to October 1st, outdoor campfires are prohibited during this time.)

The cottage on Lake Sutherland is perfectly situated for visiting Lake Crescent, Hurricane Ridge and Sol Duc. The Pacific Beaches and Hoh Rain Forest are just a couple hours drive from the cottage.

***Things to Note:
To access the lakeside cottage/dock from the road you must hike a moderately steep natural trail leading down the hillside. This trail is a series of steps, natural dirt paths w/roots and several flights of stairs. The trail is also shared with 2 other rental units. This is definitely not for guests with mobility limitations.

The water supplying the cottage comes from a stream up the hill during the summer and from the lake during the winter. We have UV filters on the taps, however, we do recommend you bring your own bottled water for drinking purposes.

The indoor wood stove in the living space is NOT operational.

The floating trampoline is a shared amenity with neighbors and other rental unit guests and not exclusive to this rental.

A signed rental agreement is required for a completed booking.

440 sq. ft. 1 bedroom cottage, just minutes to the entrance to Olympic National Park Visitor's Center, downtown, shopping, and dining. The guest cottage is surrounded by a gorgeous, woodsy landscaped yard and gardens on owner's property. Flagstone path leads to this intimate and charming cottage. Recently renovated with new carpet, furnishings, and a queen bed that replaced the previous double bed, this cottage is decorated with a combination of charm and elegance. All the comforts of home are in place for a relaxing weekend or extended stay. Enjoy coffee or outdoor dining on the patio as you overlook and enjoy the gardens. Relax in front of a cozy "fire" from the electric insert in the fireplace. Do laundry as needed in the washer and dryer.

Minutes and walking distance to downtown Port Angeles, shopping, great restaurants and the Coho Ferry to Victoria BC, or take a 30 minutes drive to beautiful Hurricane Ridge or Lake Crescent. Walk or bike on the Olympic Discovery Trail, which spans approximately 130 miles east to west. The trail is a wide, paved pathway designed for bicyclists and hikers. Enjoy coastal beaches, Olympic National Park, Deer Park, Hoh Rain Forest, Port Townsend Victorian seaport, Dungeness spit (longest spit in the Continental US) and many other favorite Olympic Peninsula locations. The cottage is perfect for 2 guests.

Captain's Cottage is a sanctuary getaway in a quiet neighborhood. It was renovated in 2018. To meet the demand of remote working & learning, the Cottage NOW has WAVE High Speed Internet Broadband WiFi at around 250Mbps. This was just added 10-24-2020 !! The living room has a 42" flat screen TV, and Wave Cable with HDR and VCR-DVD Combo for the TV. We also provide a modest selection of VCR & DVD movies for your viewing pleasure if you just want to cocoon, snuggle up and stay in. Outdoors there is a table for 4, 4 comfortable Adirondack chairs, a bench, propane grill, & a charcoal BBQ grill for your outdoor dining pleasure & relaxation on your private deck overlooking Canada and the Strat. BBQ charcoal and lighter fluid can be purchased at the local stores. You can actually say to your friends that ............ "I can see Canada from my House" from this lovely cozy private cottage on the hillside, where you are king and queen of the hill. Enjoy your morning coffee or sip your evening wine on your private deck as you overlook the view.

We Do Not have a Hot Tub on the property, nor a Firepit due to severe fire hazards, droughts, sparks & winds. So we do NOT permit Smoking of any kind in or around the property, NO Fires, NO Fireworks.

In additions, we have another property nearby in Sequim WA, just 15 minutes east of the Mt. Pleasant, called Bond Ranch Retreat. Its a short 1.4 miles up a small hill to the south, but opens up to a spectacular 8 acre flat open pasture, private fairy forest and stream. Its on a former horse ranch as well, and is made up of various charming cottages from repurposed ranch buildings from trees felled from that property over 60 years ago. If spending time on a beach is your preference, Crescent Beach (a great sandy beach) is just five minutes away. This beach is one of the premier surfing spots on the Peninsula, and also offers rock climbing and tide pools. So pack a lunch and off you go for a glorious experience!

Visit the Joyce General store for a step back in time, or if you prefer to go international, a short ferry ride will take you to Victoria, British Columbia. There are also great restaurants in the area. You can't ask for more than this! Perfect for anything you want to do.

If you love the Sequim Lavender Festival, it's only a 40 minute drive from here and you don't have to pay the inflated rates in Sequim. So come enjoy the festival, then return to a little piece of heaven and tranquility!

This cozy Creekside Cottage is just off Hwy 101, midway, between Sequim and Port Angeles. We are tucked away, in a quiet & peaceful little valley, with a creek running along side the lower yard. Enjoy this view from the fenced in backyard or take a stroll to refresh your senses.

The meadow below has a swing in the big maple which we HIGHLY recommend you try. Guests are welcome to use the fire pit as well.
This area is a great space to play games, exercise your dog, or just hangout. Night golf, cornhole and horseshoes are just a few of the games we have available for use.
Or just find a spot to sit down by the creek and take it all in!
The Olympic Discovery Trail is easy to get to and only a mile away for hiking or biking.

The bedroom is furnished with a very comfortable queen size pillow top mattress with all bedding. Built in dresser & closet for your convenience.

Our kitchen has a full size refrigerator, 4 burner stove with oven, crock pot, microwave, toaster & Keurig coffee maker. We have stocked the kitchen with all the tools you'll need to prepare meals and even do a little baking if you choose. In the cupboard are essential spices, olive oil, sugar, flour, coffee and a few other items. You will also find a gas BBQ in the backyard.

The bathroom has a shower & commode. We have provided cozy towels and washcloths. In the shower is a dispenser with Aussie shampoo, conditioner and Ivory body wash.
Unfortunately, the bathroom does not have a sink.

Relax in the living room and enjoy the electric fireplace, flat screen TV with DVD player. We have provided a lift top coffee table for your meals. The couch makes into a full size bed. Bedding provided. Or sit in the comfy Stress-less reclining chair with ottoman.

We are dog friendly and can provide a bed, dishes, etc. Please let us know breed and size of your furry friend and what needs you have.

We respect your privacy and hope you have a relaxing stay at our home. We are very neighborly people so don't be shy about waving "hello" if you see us out. We live 2 parking spaces from the cottage.
Which is why we have put up a privacy fence that seems to work quite well.

The propertyboasts a good sized back yard, where you can grill dinner and enjoy the outdoors. If you have bicycles or kayaks, you can tuck them out of sight in the private yard.

Beautifully designed 1940's cottage in the woods nestled by Indian Creek invites you to sit back, relax and unwind among the tall evergreens and lush vegetation. Plenty of room for the whole family or couple's travelling together. The three-bedroom cottage is complete with a kitchen, gas grill, free Wi-Fi, Smart TVs, W/D, outdoor fire pit and beautiful shared private trails that lead down to and alongside Indian Creek. Only 15 minutes from Port Angeles's downtown shopping, restaurants and coffee houses. Experience easy day trips and hiking adventures through the Olympic National Park. Kayaking, boating and swimming at Lake Crescent are just 10 minutes west of the cabin.

Inside the cottage:
The downstairs living space offers two informal seating areas with cozy furnishings. One with a Smart TV, a "real flame" electric fireplace, a couch with chaise (turns into a sofa bed for extra sleeping arrangements) and a lovely selection of books. There is also a small writing desk in the corner for those that need to work during their stay or just check an email or two. The other seating area is a lovely conversation spot or space to curl up and read by the gas stove, located just off the kitchen and dining areas. The dining table sits between the two living areas and is perfect for gathering for dinner or for playing a lively card game.
In the kitchen, you will find all you need for whipping up meals including a four-burner stove, microwave, fridge/freezer, dishwasher and plenty of dishes/pots and pans. There is one bedroom on the main floor that has a queen bed and TV. Both bathrooms are also on the main floor. The back bath has a walk-in shower and washer/dryer, while the hall bath is split between a shower room and 1/2 bath.
The upstairs second and third bedrooms are accessed by a steep and narrow staircase. The second bedroom has a full-size bed and TV and the third bedroom has plenty of room for the kids to stretch out, with 3 full size beds and TV. Outside, everyone can have fun exploring the shared outdoor areas that include private trails down to and alongside the creek, the community gazebo and the community shared play set located in the front yard of the main house. These outdoor areas are shared with guests who may be occupying the two other vacation rentals on the property.

Getting Around:
This property is located set back off U.S. Highway 101 just 9 miles west of Port Angeles for restaurants, coffee houses, pubs, and shopping. The closest entrance to the Olympic National Park is at Lake Crescent, just 10 minutes west of this property, where you will find kayaking on the Lake and hiking opportunities on the Spruce Railroad trail, Mt. Storm King trail and Marymere Falls trail, as well as a wonderful restaurant at the historic Lake Crescent Lodge. Additional day trips to other Olympic National Park destinations are an easy drive from the home. Both Hurricane Ridge and Sol Duc Hot Springs/Falls are a 45 minute drive from the home, the Hoh Rain Forest is 1.75 hours away and the Pacific coastal beaches are just over an hour drive to the west. The town of Sequim, with more restaurants, shopping, coffee houses and Lavender Farms is just a 35 minute drive to the east.

Additional things to note:
This property has three vacation rental units on it. The driveway leading to all three units is circular, with two designated parking spots for the Indian Creek Cottage in front of the cottage. The cottage is indicated by a green sign with the name "Indian Creek" to the right of the front door. All outdoor spaces including yards, private trails to the creek, play structure, gazebo and seating areas are shared spaces with other guests who may be staying.
While children are welcome, we do require that an adult accompanies all children under the age of 12 when anywhere outside on the property, specifically when around the naturally occurring hazards of the creek, private trails, outdoor fire pits, play structure. Children under 12 are not to be left unaccompanied outside.
Outdoor burning may be subject to County wide burn bans. Check to see if a burn ban is in effect during the dates of your stay before starting a fire.

There are 2 bedrooms (King and Queen) with doors that close. The other King Bedroom is in the loft and has french doors that open up to the outside deck. There is a small desk. In the loft there is plenty of space for mattress pad. The Single bed is under the stairs in a little nook.

It has a full kitchen equipped to prepare meals for up to 8 people.

There is also a crib and high chair in the house. It comfortably sleeps 6, if there are infants we would allow 7.
Other things to note
It is a dog friendly house as there are two dogs (sisters) on the property. The dogs have an invisible fence. Very friendly Alaskan Klee Kai's (full grown at 20 lbs). Kona and Bandit love meeting new furry friends.

The living and dining room has a sharp table with benches. In the pics you can see it used as a work-from-home office and zoom calls. There are 3 bar stool type chairs for casual eating at the counter. Or use the table for dining. Besides the 2 benches, there are chairs, as you prefer.

The property boasts a good sized back yard, where you can grill dinner and enjoy the outdoors. If you have bicycles or kayaks, you can tuck them out of sight in the private yard.

Our cottage is permitted one rental in a 30 day time period. Port Angeles is a neat town located out on the Olympic Peninsula. You can have your coffee in the dining area or porch and see the freighters and other maritime traffic on the Strait de Fuca. Canada is visible in the distance and we are near Hurricane Ridge in the Olympic National Park. The Olympic Discovery Trail is only a block away. There is an additional person fee over two (2) people of $20 pp per night.

You check yourself in by just going to the mail box with the name of your cottage.

There you will pick up everything you need in your registration packet. You will have 2 keys upon check-in. One will be for your cottage and 1 will be for the video and info cottage. After obtaining your packet you may drive back up the road to your cottage.

As soon as you get to your cottage please take a minute to read the info in the three ring notebook on the kitchen counter. This will enable you to take full advantage of all A Hidden Haven has to offer.

You will find coffee supplies in your cottage. Coffee grounds and beans are in the refrigerator.

Fir Haven Retreat, located 15 minutes from town, is on 40 private acres that have been in the family for generations. The 600sf cottage looks out over a large field surrounded by forest, orchards, trails, canyons, and Siebert Creek. It's perfect for couples and close friends, with 2 dedicated bedrooms and a cozy living room.
Two caretakers live on the property, available if needed. We, and other guests, will give the cottage space for you to enjoy the beauty of the PNW. 12y/o and above only!

The space

This cottage was built in 2011 for the family's use when visiting the Peninsula. It has been the much-loved residence of two caretakers for the past 6 years, and is now a space for guests to come enjoy the beauty of this special place.
The cottage interior is eclectic, creatively designed and decorated with the help of friends, Feng Shui, and hundreds of hours building many of the unique furnishings.

Master bedroom has a full closet and small dresser, with a memory foam queen mattress. Small bedroom has full size dresser, as well as space to hang clothes and a double bed. The third sleeping option is a single daybed in the living room.

The bookcase is stocked with novels and informational books about the Pacific Northwest, as well as literary classics and some of the family's favorites.

There is a heater in each room, as well as a heat pump with air conditioner in the main room and a wood burning stove. We will provide firewood, kindling, and all other fire necessities.
We also have an outdoor fire pit with outdoor seating, which is in the cottage’s front yard. Burning there is subject to local burn restrictions; we will notify you of the status upon your arrival.

The kitchen has fridge, freezer, oven, microwave, coffee pot, tea kettle, dishwasher, and plenty of cooking and serving utensils. We stock basic spices as well as coffee and tea.
This house is a wonderful vacation home for couples and can handle up to 5 people.
A stacked washer and dryer are located by the back door, and are available for your use.

The front porch looks out over the lower orchard, field, and forest, and has comfortable chairs to relax on.

We do not allow children under 12 to stay on the property due to hazards that come with a rural space such as this. The Retreat is situated on a peninsula of land that drops off on three sides – between 60 and 150 feet down – into Siebert Creek and its tributaries. There are two fenced-off areas that discourage access to a dangerous undercut bluff, but all visitors must act with due diligence to keep themselves safe. The cottage itself is not child proofed, though all standard safety equipment is installed.

We live outside city limits, and therefore shooting guns is legal. We do not permit firearms at Fir Haven Retreat (due to our role in wildlife conservation and protecting the peaceful ambiance of the environment), but you might occasionally hear neighbors target practicing. We are surrounded by protective dense forest, but the canyon itself amplifies sound so we want to give people a heads up in case this might occur.

The cottage is not wheelchair accessible, unfortunately.

Guest access
Guests who sign a liability waiver upon arrival will have access to marked trails which are shown on a map at the cottage. Guests will need to avoid outbuildings and any areas marked by caution signs/tape and marked private areas.
Private land generally consists of the 5 acres in the southeast corner, including the main house, shop, upper orchard, and garden. A map at the cabin indicates what areas of the property are private, and there will be blue chains up to indicate those borders.
Please do not attempt to enter the barn, pump house, or stables, as the floor boards and roofs are not safe.

Other things to note
A liability waiver must be signed on arrival in order to have access to grounds. We can send a copy of it to you prior to your arrival.

The neighboring property is building a house from late 2024-2025. Construction noise will be limited to daylight hours, but please take note

Loft. No bedroom door.
Enjoy an experience at this centrally-located cottage. (Be aware, wild deer might drop by :) The loft (no bedroom door) presents saltwater views. Two-attached covered decks for sitting and rejuvenating. Gourmet food at numerous restaurants and pubs. Hiking galore. Wind surfing is popular at the Elwha River mouth or DoorDash and stay at your temporary home away from home. Many recreational opportunities. Privacy...the smell of salt air...aaahhh.

The space
The lawn and landscaping are organic. No weed killers have been used for 5+ years! Takes two years of no weed killer, to have your landscaping become organic.
Kendra is a Master Gardner. Dandelions are food for early pollinators, so you will probably see Dandelions. The deer love them (once they are organic).

Guest access
There are two sets of stairs…a spiral staircase in the cottage and stairs to descend onto the property. The spiral staircase is two feet wide…not very big. You have to push up more on a spiral staircase than regular stairs. Some people find these challenging.

The yard is free to wander in. The brick house is private, as is the deck attached to it.
But you are welcome to look at the variety of plants.

Other things to note
It is very comfortable for two to three adults and one to four children, at the same time.

We provide all basic necessities to make you feel at home including but not limited to; wifi, a TV is available with Netflix, linens, shampoo, conditioner, body wash, oil for cooking, salt & pepper, tea, local coffee, and creamer. A large dog crate is also available for guest use upon request.

More about the outside space: At this home there is plentiful street parking. Guests have access to fenced in yard, deck, outdoor seating, outdoor grill, and fire pit! Feel free to bring your furry friend, or children as there is access to a large fenced in yard.

Only 2 miles from the Olympic National Park Visitor Center and base of Hurricane Ridge, 25 min to lake crescent, 57 min to Sol Duc Resort, 27 minutes to Salt Creek Rec area, 20 min to Elwha River, 1h 24m to lapush, 1h 56m to Cape Flattery, 1h 48m to hobuck and much more!

This home is located near town and public transportation. If you are looking to explore the various activities this area has to offer we do recommend having a vehicle.

We charge $50 per pet as a fee for hosting your furry friend. If there are additional cleaning fees that incur during your stay related to pets, you will be charged accordingly.

Newly renovated Port Angeles home updated with much love and a cozy, relaxing vibe! A quiet and safe neighborhood less than a block from Shane Park with plenty of space for an after dinner stroll or take the dog for a walk, let them off the leash to run or take the kids to the play equipment to burn off the evening energy while you sip some tea. Relax on the deck and look to the south to see the majestic Olympic Mountains. Deer often stroll through the property.

CLOSE TO DOWNTOWN PORT ANGELES AND FERRY:

The home is just about a half of a mile from historic downtown Port Angeles Washington. And is under a mile to the ferry terminal for a fun cruise to Victoria BC (which is about a 1 .1/2 Hr ride on the ferry)! Its rare to find a home so close to a great park in such a peaceful and safe neighborhood close to town and all the local attractions.

CLOSE TO THE OLYMPIC NATIONAL PARK AND HURRICANE RIDGE:

The home is just minutes from the Olympic National Park Visitor Center. Our guests love that fact the home is only a three miles distance and 7 minute drive to the visitor center. From there you head up to beautiful Hurricane Ridge. It is a 18 mile drive at an elevation of 5,242 feet. Take your time and take in the stunning views on your way up.

We have provided a patio table and chairs for you for those beautiful sunny days. Enjoy cooking on the charcoal barbecue grill with provided utensils found in your fully stocked kitchen.

MASTER BEDROOM:

Enjoy the Queen-size memory foam mattresses in the master bedroom our guests rave about. We provide fresh and clean bed linens. A large standing mirror and chest of drawers adorn the large master space. Along with night stands, and a closet. There is a pedestal fan available for staying cool or white noise while sleeping.

LIVING ROOM:

Many windows with shades for privacy and sheer curtains for elegance throughout the home. The sofa in the living room is plush and relaxing. Two end tables, a rug and large clean dog bed are waiting for Fido to relax too. We provide a Roku wall mounted TV. Open the front door and you will find a charming patio to enjoy any time of the day.

KITCHEN SPACE:

This is a nicely stocked kitchen with pots, pans, utensils and dishes needed for food prep, cooking and dining during your stay. We provide a coffee maker, blender, toaster oven, microwave as well as some coffee, teas, powdered creamer, salt, pepper, some spices/seasonings and cooking oil. New stainless steel utensils, dinnerware, pots & pans, baking sheets and more. There is a dinning table with 2 chairs.

The refrigerator is full size with the freezer located on top. The stove/oven is electric with hood vent fan that vents outside.

Also a thermostat for the warm wall air heater to control the temperature in the house can be found on the wall in the living room.


BATHROOM:

The bathroom has a full sized shower with all the toiletries one would need are provided. Tall height toilet with a soft close lid. A sink vanity with a toilet paper next to it. Extra clean lines are in the bathroom as well as ventilation fan and large mirror.

FULL SIZED WASHER AND DRYER:

We have new full sized washer and dryer for your usage. We provide soap pods for your convenience.

SAFETY UPDATE:

We air out the entire home in between guests as we are cleaning the space. Our housekeeper takes many measures to ensure guest safety. They sanitize the home and washes all bedding to help ensure your safety including wiping down all surfaces, handles, knobs, switches, etc. Additionally, there are often times when the home has been vacant for several days prior to a guest's arrival.

3 miles from Olympic National Park entrance! Free super high speed Wifi. The Cozy Mobile is kid friendly. We are pet friendly however the front fence is about three feet high and we want to make sure you're aware of this. The park has plenty of room to walk or run your dog. Due to our beautiful moderate climate A/C is not a necessity and we do not provide it, however, we do provide pedestal fans. No smoking/vaping inside of the house. There is an oven, microwave and dish washer. There is no kitchen garbage disposal.

Welcome to West of the Elwha! We would love to share our family's cozy summer cottage with you. Our 3 bedroom, 1 full bath home sits within the Olympic National Forest in the stunning Elwha River Valley. If you are looking for a home base to explore the North Olympic Peninsula, this is the place for you. Our cottage is located just 15 minutes west of Port Angeles, and only minutes away from accessing many of the most popular attractions within the Olympic National Park.

The space
In a truly beautiful setting, this home comfortably accommodates parties of up to 6 guests. Enter this historic cottage and you are greeted with a vaulted ceiling and exposed beams which will transport you back to a by-gone era. Originally built in the 1930's as part of the New Deal it is located within the Olympic National Park. Beyond the front door you will find the dining room and kitchen to the left and the living room to the right. Straight ahead a stairway leads to the loft and master bedroom. Accessed through either the kitchen or living room on the main floor are two bedrooms, a full bathroom and a laundry room.

Extended stay?
No problem, our cabin is well equipped. Bring your groceries, including your favorite spices, teas and coffees. Enjoy evening fires and s'mores at the fire pit, as well as outdoor games on the large lawn area. Don't forget to stop at any of the local (Port Angeles) grocery stores or gas stations to pickup wood for the fire pit and wood stove.

Situated just off Hwy. 101 in the Elwha Valley means that our home offers an incredibly convenient jumping off point for exploring all that the northern Olympic Peninsula and National Park has to offer.

If you are interested in hiking there are scores of trails suitable for all ability levels within an easy drive. Whether its high mountains, rain forests, tide-pooling, hiking, biking or just exploring natural wonders, this is the place to be.

Looking for a quiet, romantic getaway or a friends weekend retreat? Come escape to this idyllic lakeside cottage with dreamlike views. The intimate indoor setting boasts a full kitchen, a single bath with shower,
a cozy bedroom and living/sleeping space. Picture window views across the cabin showcase both the lake and mountains. Large private dock offers plenty of outdoor living space with entertainment seating, a gas grill, lakeside fire pit, kayak/SUP board and parking for up to two jet skis.

The space
Revealing one of the best views on the lake, the spacious private dock and freshly remodeled 1928 cottage are uniquely positioned down the hill from the road. Accessing the cottage and dock requires traversing a natural path, a series of steps, and several flights of stairs (see pictures).

The dock has plenty of space to stretch out and enjoy the sun and lake activities. There are also two spaces available for parking your own jet skis (a public boat launch is located just down the road). Take a swim or explore the lake on our kayak and SUP board (a few sizes of life jackets are also provided).

The inside cottage space is similiar to a studio, broken up into living and sleeping areas. When you enter the cottage, a fully equipped kitchen is on your right for whipping up snacks and meals.

There is a small "living area" with a sofa, chair and ottoman. This is the perfect spot to savor your morning cup of 'joe or glass of wine in the evening while gazing out on the magical lake and mountain views.

Behind the sofa is a queen size bed along with a small bedroom off the living area with a double bed (room is separated from the main living area by a beaded curtain), sleeping up to 3 guests in total. All bedding and pillows are provided for each bed.

Next to the room with the double bed is the bath which has a toilet, sink and shower. Towels, soap and shampoo/conditioner are provided.

In the evenings, relax outside in front of the fire while cooking up s'mores and gazing up at the stars. The positioning of the fire pit allows for the feeling of being "on" the water, can't get any closer without getting in! Perfect spot to end the day after day trips and hikes throughout the Olympic National Park.

The cottage on Lake Sutherland is perfectly situated for easily visiting many of the ONP areas of Lake Crescent (10 minutes away), Hurricane Ridge and Sol Duc (both @ 45 minutes from the cottage) The Pacific coastal beaches and Hoh Rain Forest are just a couple hours drive west from the cottage.

Guest access
To access the lakeside cottage/dock from the road you must hike a moderately steep trail leading down the hillside. This trail is a series of steps, natural dirt paths w/roots and stairs. The trail is also shared with 2 other rental units. This is definitely NOT for guests with mobility limitations.

Also, there is only parking on the side of a very narrow road. There is not a parking space on the property itself. Because of this we do ask that you limit parking to one car only.

Other things to note
There are two additional vacation units on this total property. While the cottage and dock space are solely for your use, there may be additional guests sharing parts of the steps/stairs and path that lead to the other two units from the roadside. The floating trampoline in the lake is also shared among neighbors and NOT exclusive to this rental unit.

The water source for the home is from a small spring up the hill in the summer and the lake during the winter. The water is then filtered through a UV filter. However, for drinking needs, we still do recommend you bring bottled water.

Fireworks are strictly prohibited.

Fire pit is subject to county burn bans, please check with Clallam county website for bans during July - October at the time of your arrival.

Directional conduct on the Lake:
Powerboats/jet skis must travel in a counter clockwise direction. Any travel close to the shoreline or within the bouy lines is strictly a NO WAKE zone.
Kayaks and SUP boards need to follow closely along the shoreline/inside the no wake zone.

You will be asked at the time of booking for your email address for us to send the rental agreement for your review and signature.

Nestled on 9 acres of ocean bluff farmland, with a panoramic view of the Olympic Mountains, your escape to country living begins at the Cottage at Old Finn Hall. Enjoy a book beside the fireplace in the spacious living room or watch deer graze from the full kitchen. Start your mornings with coffee on the patio as the sun lights up the mountain peaks and end your evenings atop the bluff with an ocean sunset. The cottage is a hidden retreat just 15 minutes to Sequim or Port Angeles.

The space
The cottage, owned by five sisters, has been passed down through the family for three generations and offers a peaceful getaway from hectic city living or a remote work location. Wildlife abounds in the area- deer, coyote, raccoon, bald eagles, ravens and hummingbirds are frequently seen in the yard.

Centrally located to nearby lavender farms, farm tours, the North Olympic Discovery Trail, the Olympic Game Farm and Port Townsend. Also just a day trip away from the Olympic National Park, the beaches of the Washington Coast and a ferry ride away from Victoria, Canada.

This converted boat building barn with floor to ceiling cedar tongue and groove planks has a 360 degree cyclone fireplace for cozy evenings by the fire, Wi-Fi, an indoor game area, separate reading and TV areas. The Barn Room has a smart tv with a Roku so you can use your own subscription for Netflix or others. Feel free to log into any other services you may have. No cable.

The property is also home to the Old Finnish Community Hall (private property) for which the cottage is named. The sprawling acreage is perfect for outdoor lawn games like badminton, bocce ball, corn hole, epic games of freeze or flashlight tag and s'mores around the fire pit.

Fully equipped kitchen with coffee, tea and spices and a few snacks for late arrivals. The master bath features a Jacuzzi soaker tub and bubble bath. We provide shampoo, conditioner and body wash.

Guest access
You will have access to the whole house and yard. While walking through the fields is ok, we ask that you not drive in them. These fields are harvested by one of the local farmers for feed for their cattle. It is hard to harvest if too much of it is damaged.

There are several other buildings on the property that the hosts maintain and use. You might see us but we will always let you know if we will be coming.
There are several wildlife trails on the property, especially out by the bluff, please do not go down these as they are not safe. Although, tempting as it might be, the cliff is not stable and there is no safe way to reach the beach. We are not responsible for your actions.

On the west side of the house is a gully that is being worked on. Sometimes during the weekends there might be heavy machinery working there. This land does not belong to us and is private property. It does not have beach access either. Please be a good neighbor.

Other things to note
We will provide 1 bundle of fire wood on the house and others will be available to purchase for $5 on site or at the Agnew grocery for a little bit more. If you do use the fire pit, please wet the area down ahead of time to prevent grass fire. A hose is attached to the pump house beside fire pit

We are experiencing a drought this year so as ask that you are conscious of your water use so the well does not go dry. It has happened already.

The space
Three bedrooms, two baths and a fully equipped kitchen, with an additional comfy queen sofa-bed in the living room. The house is two stories with one bedroom, one bath, living room, dining room and kitchen on the top story with two bedrooms, one bath and a family room on the lower floor. The upstairs living room is the original wood flooring! There are two patio as part of the house with patio furniture and patio heater on each patio. We also have one BBQ grill available on our patio for our guests to use.

We have thought of everything to make your stay as comfortable and welcoming as possible. The house comes with a fully equipped kitchen, don’t forget to bring your favorite seasonings! Pick up groceries at the local Country Aire Natural Market. Just because you are a couple of hours from Seattle doesn’t mean the coffee experience has to change! The kitchen comes with a coffee bar, equipped with a Nespresso, as well as a regular drip coffee maker. Locally roasted ground coffee from the nearby Hurricane Ridge Coffee shop is available for you to sip and enjoy on the patio, as you take in the sweeping strait views.

Please note: the fireplace insert in the living room does not function correctly. The fireplace is not available for guest use. Thank you for your understanding.

Parking is available on the private driveway in front of the house. The driveway accommodates two (2) cars. There is additional parking available next to the driveway.
