Looking for a quiet, romantic getaway or a friends weekend retreat? Come escape to this idyllic lakeside cottage with dreamlike views. The intimate indoor setting boasts a full kitchen, bath, bedroom and living/sleeping space. Picture window views across the cabin showcase both the lake and mountains. Sleeps up to 3 guests. The private dock offers plenty of spacious outdoor living with entertainment seating, a propane grill, lakeside fire pit, kayak/SUP board and parking for up to two jet skis.

Revealing one of the best views on the lake, the spacious private dock and remodeled 1928 cottage are uniquely positioned down the hill from the road. Accessing the cottage and dock requires traversing a moderately steep series of steps, natural dirt path and stairs.

The private dock has plenty of space to stretch out and enjoy the sun and lake activities. There are also two spaces available for parking your own jet skis (a public boat launch is located just down the road). Take a swim or explore the lake on our kayak and SUP board (a few sizes of life jackets are also provided).

The inside cottage space is similiar to a studio, broken up into living and sleeping areas. When you enter the cottage, a fully equipped kitchen (Dishes/utensils/pots/pans provided) is on your right for whipping up snacks and meals.

There is a small "living area" with a sofa, chair and ottoman. This is the perfect spot to savor your morning cup of 'joe or glass of wine in the evening while gazing out on the magical lake and mountain views. We provide tray tables for eating meals indoors.

Behind the sofa is a queen size bed along with a small bedroom off the living area with a double bed (room is separated by curtain from the main living space) sleeping up to 3 guests in total. All bedding and pillows are provided for each bed.

Next to the room with the double bed is the bath which has a toilet, sink and shower. Towels, soap and shampoo/conditioner are provided.

In the evenings, relax outside in front of the fire while cooking up s'mores and gazing up at the stars. The positioning of the fire pit allows for the feeling of being "on" the water, can't get any closer without getting in! Perfect spot to end the day after day trips and hikes throughout the Olympic National Park. (Burn Ban in effect July 1st to October 1st, outdoor campfires are prohibited during this time.)

The cottage on Lake Sutherland is perfectly situated for visiting Lake Crescent, Hurricane Ridge and Sol Duc. The Pacific Beaches and Hoh Rain Forest are just a couple hours drive from the cottage.

***Things to Note:
To access the lakeside cottage/dock from the road you must hike a moderately steep natural trail leading down the hillside. This trail is a series of steps, natural dirt paths w/roots and several flights of stairs. The trail is also shared with 2 other rental units. This is definitely not for guests with mobility limitations.

The water supplying the cottage comes from a stream up the hill during the summer and from the lake during the winter. We have UV filters on the taps, however, we do recommend you bring your own bottled water for drinking purposes.

The indoor wood stove in the living space is NOT operational.

The floating trampoline is a shared amenity with neighbors and other rental unit guests and not exclusive to this rental.

A signed rental agreement is required for a completed booking.

440 sq. ft. 1 bedroom cottage, just minutes to the entrance to Olympic National Park Visitor's Center, downtown, shopping, and dining. The guest cottage is surrounded by a gorgeous, woodsy landscaped yard and gardens on owner's property. Flagstone path leads to this intimate and charming cottage. Recently renovated with new carpet, furnishings, and a queen bed that replaced the previous double bed, this cottage is decorated with a combination of charm and elegance. All the comforts of home are in place for a relaxing weekend or extended stay. Enjoy coffee or outdoor dining on the patio as you overlook and enjoy the gardens. Relax in front of a cozy "fire" from the electric insert in the fireplace. Do laundry as needed in the washer and dryer.

Minutes and walking distance to downtown Port Angeles, shopping, great restaurants and the Coho Ferry to Victoria BC, or take a 30 minutes drive to beautiful Hurricane Ridge or Lake Crescent. Walk or bike on the Olympic Discovery Trail, which spans approximately 130 miles east to west. The trail is a wide, paved pathway designed for bicyclists and hikers. Enjoy coastal beaches, Olympic National Park, Deer Park, Hoh Rain Forest, Port Townsend Victorian seaport, Dungeness spit (longest spit in the Continental US) and many other favorite Olympic Peninsula locations. The cottage is perfect for 2 guests.

Captain's Cottage is a sanctuary getaway in a quiet neighborhood. It was renovated in 2018. Recently added comfy second queen bed in unit totaling 2 queen beds and a full size memory foam pullout in the living room. Beautiful wainscote pine paneling throughout the cottage. To meet the demand of remote working & learning, the Cottage NOW has WAVE High Speed Internet Broadband WiFi at around 250Mbps. This was just added 10-24-2020 !! The living room has a 42" flat screen TV, and Wave Cable with HDR and VCR-DVD Combo for the TV. We also provide a modest selection of VCR & DVD movies for your viewing pleasure if you just want to cocoon, snuggle up and stay in. Outdoors there is a table for 4, 4 comfortable Adirondack chairs, a bench, propane grill, & a charcoal BBQ grill for your outdoor dining pleasure & relaxation on your private deck overlooking Canada and the Strat. BBQ charcoal and lighter fluid can be purchased at the local stores. You can actually say to your friends that ............ "I can see Canada from my House" from this lovely cozy private cottage on the hillside, where you are king and queen of the hill. Enjoy your morning coffee or sip your evening wine on your private deck as you overlook the view.

NO SMOKING, NO FIRES, NO FIREWORKS:
We Do Not have a Hot Tub on the property, nor a Firepit due to severe fire hazards, droughts, sparks & winds. So we do NOT permit Smoking of any kind in or around the property, NO Fires, NO Fireworks.

If when you try to book the Mt. Pleasant Garden View Ranch Cottage, and it is already booked, not to worry. We also have the Main Ranch House for 2-6 guests. In additions, we have another property nearby in Sequim WA, just 15 minutes east of the Mt. Pleasant, called Bond Ranch Retreat. Its a short 1.4 miles up a small hill to the south, but opens up to a spectacular 8 acre flat open pasture, private fairy forest and stream. Its on a former horse ranch as well, and is made up of various charming cottages from repurposed ranch buildings from trees felled from that property over 60 years ago. If spending time on a beach is your preference, Crescent Beach (a great sandy beach) is just five minutes away. This beach is one of the premier surfing spots on the Peninsula, and also offers rock climbing and tide pools. So pack a lunch and off you go for a glorious experience!

Visit the Joyce General store for a step back in time, or if you prefer to go international, a short ferry ride will take you to Victoria, British Columbia. There are also great restaurants in the area. You can't ask for more than this! Perfect for anything you want to do.

If you love the Sequim Lavender Festival, it's only a 40 minute drive from here and you don't have to pay the inflated rates in Sequim. So come enjoy the festival, then return to a little piece of heaven and tranquility!

Although the Guest House is just across the way from the estate's main house, the owners jealously guard your privacy yet are available for questions, if needed. This cozy Creekside Cottage is just off Hwy 101, midway, between Sequim and Port Angeles. We are tucked away, in a quiet & peaceful little valley, with a creek running along side the lower yard. Enjoy this view from the fenced in backyard or take a stroll to refresh your senses.

The meadow below has a swing in the big maple which we HIGHLY recommend you try. Guests are welcome to use the fire pit as well.
This area is a great space to play games, exercise your dog, or just hangout. Night golf, cornhole and horseshoes are just a few of the games we have available for use.
Or just find a spot to sit down by the creek and take it all in!
The Olympic Discovery Trail is easy to get to and only a mile away for hiking or biking.

The bedroom is furnished with a very comfortable queen size pillow top mattress with all bedding. Built in dresser & closet for your convenience.

Our kitchen has a full size refrigerator, 4 burner stove with oven, crock pot, microwave, toaster & Keurig coffee maker. We have stocked the kitchen with all the tools you'll need to prepare meals and even do a little baking if you choose. In the cupboard are essential spices, olive oil, sugar, flour, coffee and a few other items. You will also find a gas BBQ in the backyard.

The bathroom has a shower & commode. We have provided cozy towels and washcloths. In the shower is a dispenser with Aussie shampoo, conditioner and Ivory body wash.
Unfortunately, the bathroom does not have a sink.

Relax in the living room and enjoy the electric fireplace, flat screen TV with DVD player. We have provided a lift top coffee table for your meals. The couch makes into a full size bed. Bedding provided. Or sit in the comfy Stress-less reclining chair with ottoman.

We are dog friendly and can provide a bed, dishes, etc. Please let us know breed and size of your furry friend and what needs you have.

We respect your privacy and hope you have a relaxing stay at our home. We are very neighborly people so don't be shy about waving "hello" if you see us out. We live 2 parking spaces from the cottage.
Which is why we have put up a privacy fence that seems to work quite well.

It is a mere 20 minute drive to the Salt Creek Rec Area for wide sandy beaches, picnics, kayaying and tidepooling. Also 30 minutes from Lake Crescent for waterfall trails and lake kayaking.

Inside, relax in the warm and inviting living area with new, comfy furniture, streaming TV entertainment, and free Wifi. Enjoy making meals in the beautiful, well equipped kitchen, complete with pots and pans, range, oven, microwave and fridge. The two bedrooms have one queen and one with a full. The hall bath has a tub/shower combo with all towels provided. Washer and dryer. The back yard is fully fenced, good sized lawn, large pear tree, plus a new gas grill and seating.
