It's clear that the owners take pride in their place, and we would definitely stay here again! Note: there is no person on-site to deal with, but they were very responsive to texts. They also offer housekeeping upon request, so we always had what we needed. Finally, the location is right near the edge of Olympic National Park, so it's very convenient to travel into the Lake Crescent or Elwha Valley areas, and it saves about 20 minutes on a drive to Rialto Beach or beyond compared to staying in Port Angeles proper. BUT, the city is only 20 minutes away so it's not hard to find "civilization" if needs must. Overall, definitely a great place and we recommend it!"

Location is absolutely perfect but be ready to wrestle your luggage up a long flight of narrow steps (not an issue if you don’t pack your entire closet like we do) and take a lot of steps or zig zag ramp to get back to the property from the main district. Welcome to a very TRUE Tiny Home experience. It’s was built on an 8x20 car trailer (160 square feet, average hotel room is 325 square feet, to put that in perspective). The space has a very small kitchenette with a small breakfast bar seating area, a tiny bathroom with an RV Toilet and a loft with a queen size bed. There is no “living room” area inside the home, just the great outdoors!! So, grab your favorite beverage & sit on the dock to watch the sunrise or set, or build a campfire (when burn-bans are lifted) & make s’more memories!

For efficiency, the toilet is an RV toilet, that includes directions posted for its optimal use to avoid clogging.

-This is a TINY HOME. Think camp trailer with VERY limited power & hot water. One plugged in item at a time is best. No hairdryers. 5 gallons of hot water so turn off water between rinse & lather, do dishes at a separate time & wait for tank to reheat. No usable space for “luggage.”
-No laundry or wifi, limited cell service.
-ONLY Registered guests on property. No visitors/friends not listed on reservation allowed. Septic is sensitive & exterior is shared so no extra guests.

We are located on the southern side at the base of Striped Peak, surrounded by Douglas Fir and Alder trees. Salt Creek Recreation Area is a short distance from the campsite with access to Crescent Beach and Striped Peak Trail leading to a secret beach. Just a short drive from Hurricane Ridge, Crescent Lake, Sol Duc River and Olympic Hot Springs, Marymere Falls, The Olympic Discovery Trail, Olympic National Forest. This site is a primative campsite.

Very Peaceful Private Propert, with trees and the brightest stars. These are Primitive Campsites with room for tents and parking. The only things provided is a Fire pit and Porta Potty. This studio apartment is perfect for business or pleasure. All the furniture is top quality. The TV swivels so can be viewed by either sofa or the bed. There is a small table and chair for an office nook. The 3/4 bath has a stacked washer and dryer. 

The kitchen is limited but still equipped with the basics: refrigerator, dishwasher, microwave, hot plate and the usual small appliances (see picture). The cupboards and drawers have plates, cups, glassware, and silverware.

The shower is brand new tile with glass door. The heat pump provides both heat and AC.

Fragrance Free Home: we have supplied the home with unscented products (paper products, dish soap & detergent, clothes detergent, pump soap). Exceptions - shampoo and conditioner and wrapped tiny bar soaps. Our cleaners use fragrance free products.

This property is situated adjacent to another unit, with a securely locked connecting door on both sides. While the door remains inaccessible from either unit, ensuring privacy for all guests, the outdoor patio is a shared space, providing a welcoming area for relaxation and enjoyment.

The space
The adults only Hiker's Cabin sits behind the Big Cabin (where our family lives). We are very pleased to share this spectacular property with you and hope you will feel at home and enjoy our optimal location overlooking Olympic National Park.

The property is home to the Roosevelt Elk herd, which often passes by, while deer graze just outside the doorstep. We encourage you to explore our expansive 30 acres; however, please be mindful that this area is also habitat for bears, cougars, and other wildlife. We ask that you respect their natural environment during your stay.

The Hiker's Cabin combines a modest interior with modern touches, creating an ideal retreat for two adults seeking relaxation. The cabin features a comfortable king-size bed, a fully stocked bathroom, and amenities such as a dining table and a cozy couch for two. Enjoy modern conveniences including high-speed satellite WiFi and a smart TV for streaming, ensuring you stay connected and entertained during your tranquil retreat.

The Hiker's Cabin secluded private deck is nestled among towering cedars and firs that gently filter in warm sunlight. It features a spacious soaking tub, comfortably accommodating two people. Enjoy coffee, sip wine and listen to the songs of the Elwha River below the trees.

We provide everything you would need to cook as you would at home. There is an electric stove with an oven, a medium sized fridge, microwave, toaster, electric hand mixer, blender, waffle iron, electric kettle, coffee maker with filters, two coffee presses, and a coffee grinder. The kitchen is fully stocked with cookware and dishes. We provide ground coffee, olive oil, vinegar, salt and pepper.

Feel free to use the BBQ that is located on your private deck.

*This property is not suitable for children due to safety considerations. The deck overlooks a drop-off, there is a pond on the property, and the cabin has not been child-proofed.

Please contact us for parking availability if you are planning to set off on foot for a multi-day hiking trip into Olympic National Park and would like to park your car here.

It may be convenient if you have your own transportation, however, Clallam County has a great bus service and the bus stop is an 18 minutes walk from our door with connections to Gateway Transit Center and all of the must-see tourist destinations, Greyhound buses, and the Hurricane Ridge Shuttle Bus.

Port Angeles has an International airport just minutes from our location.

Our property is about 15 minutes to Port Angeles, where you can go for your outdoor equipment, Olympic National Park Visitor Center, ferry terminal, groceries, and restaurants.

Olympic National Park Hurricane Ridge has winter snow shoe trails, backcountry skiing, and sledding areas open for winter activities.

The Black Ball Ferry service runs from Port Angeles to Victoria. It is nice for just a day trip or spend a few days exploring Vancouver Island.

Lake Crescent is minutes from our house and a wonderful place for SUP, kayaking, swimming and hiking. Pop into the historic Lake Crescent Lodge for a meal or to buy some souvenirs in the gift shop.

We are just minutes from beaches on the Strait of Juan de Fuca. Our closest beach access is about 15 min drive. Go a little further for tide pooling at Salt Creek Recreation Area.

Bring your bikes and explore the Discovery Trail or rent e-bikes and ride up to the Olympic Hot Springs for a day trip.
