We needed to run a load of laundry while there and Brent handed us a full bottle of detergent not realizing it had run out. Location is absolutely perfect but be ready to wrestle your luggage up a long flight of narrow steps (not an issue if you don’t pack your entire closet like we do) and take a lot of steps or zig zag ramp to get back to the property from the main district. There is one security camera focused on the interior portion of the outside entrance door in order to ensure security integrity of the apartment.

Use of the general property is limited to the Porthole's dedicated outside patio and does not include the rest of the grounds. The Park in front of our house offers a convenient place to smoke if needed. (Smoking is not allowed in the apartment or the attached patio area. The property is not 420 friendly). This is a basement apartment. The center floor is occupied by the owners and their Bordoodle Pup. They endeavor to be quiet when the Porthole is in use.... However, you will, unavoidably, hear footsteps and limited sound and and occasionally barking from "Winnie". (If this is a concern for you, you should not rent this apartment.)

There is a construction project in the neighborhood extending through Spring of 2026. During this time, parking will occasionally be more of a challenge.

- "This was our first time in the very northwestern portion of the state of Washington, so we knew nothing about where to stay or what to expect. As it turned out, we made a great choice! We enjoyed the unit very much. Neat, tidy, and very comfy. We did meet Brent and Amy, the hosts, and they were very nice and easy to talk to. We would highly recommend staying in the "Porthole" unit. It is a short walk to downtown PA, and the "zig-zag" walking ramp up and down the hill is really cool to walk on! The unit is also close to the entrance to Olympic National Park and all it has to offer, along with other towns along the shoreline. Sadly, we had to jet out of there our last morning due to a snafu with our flight home being canceled, and never had the chance to say goodbye or to thank them for a pleasant stay. Hopefully, you two will see this review and now know why we left so early and quickly on our last day."

The Lake house is located on the Sunny side of Lake Sutherland for year round getaway's. Enjoy fishing from the dock for Kokanee, Cut Throat and Rainbow trout. Kayaking is very relaxing way to enjoy your morning by cruising the lake when everyone is still waking up. Shared dock is available for boating, jet skis and any other water sports you can think of doing. Like to hike? Check out the Spruce Railroad trail on the back side of Lake Crescent or Marymere Falls on this side by Lake Crescent Lodge. Or head up to Sol-Duc Hot Springs just past Lake Crescent and get into the Olympic National Park and hike forever. The Humblebee Hive is hidden in the best kept local secret; a small, award-winning community located on the Strait of Juan de Fuca. Midway between Sequim and Port Angeles, the home is conveniently situated only minutes away from the numerous activities and attractions that both towns have to offer. Enjoy the water views of the Strait and the lights of Victoria, B.C hike the private trail to the beach, enjoy the numerous sightings of wildlife, or just relax in this cozy, comfortable, quiet and well appointed home.

You will share our private beach trail with our other guests at Hunters' Gate Homes. It is a gated, five minute hike with some large steps which are not easily navigated by small children or inexperienced hikers. Once down to the bottom you will be rewarded with a beautiful beach where the fresh creek water forms a lagoon that spills out into the salt water Strait of Juan de Fuca. You can walk and beach comb to the Dungeness Spit or head in a westerly direction toward Port Angeles.

The quaint little neighborhood store, Agnew Grocery & Feed, is only a five minute drive away, offering fresh local produce and a large selection of wine and other refreshments besides the basic grocery items. Sunny Farms Country Store is only ten minutes away where you'll find a larger variety of items including a deli and a fresh fish and meat market.

There are four restaurants all within a ten minute drive which are all highly recommended. If you want to venture further away, both Sequim and Port Angeles each only a twenty minute drive offer many more choices for shopping and dining.

The start of the road up to Hurricane Ridge and the Olympic National Park is a short twenty minute drive. You can plan longer day trips to the Pacific Ocean and the Hoh Rainforest and return after your adventure to our quiet, restful, tranquil treasure, the Humblebee Hive.

This cozy studio cabin is truly lakefront perfection! Situated on the sunny side of the lake this property boasts both a lakefront deck and large dock with patio furniture. Enjoy incredible views, lakefront amenities and all the comforts of home. There is a full kitchen with stove, oven, microwave, large refrigerator with freezer, Kuerig coffee maker, toaster, dishes, glasses, cookware, etc... There is an outside BBQ on the deck as well. Easy access from Highway 101 via a short paved road that leads right to the property. There is also a small group of private roads that inter- connect and allow for long walks around much of the North Shore of the lake.

- "Clean, comfortable, well-stocked house with a wonderful view of Juan de Fuca Strait and 5 minutes from the Hurricane Ridge entrance to Olympic National Park. Close to restaurants and bars in Port Angeles. (Big shout out to Sabai Thai restaurant. Everything we had there was fresh and delicious). Four of us stayed 4 nights. The furniture and beds are comfortable, the sheets and towels are soft, the Wi-Fi worked well and we appreciated having the washer and dryer. Between the mini-split in the dining area, opening windows and the fans in the bedrooms, we stayed cool enough during our August visit. The deer family that spends evenings in the yard and across the street were especially entertaining. Overall a very pleasant stay and highly recommend Horizon Hillside."

There is no electricity in the cabin but all appliances (oven and refrigerator) and lights are powered via propane. There are 2 beds. One queen mattress and a full size sleeper sofa. Outside the windows from where you sit to drink your coffee, display a wonderful view of the Strait. Inside, snuggle in and enjoy the beautiful glowing flames and warmth of the propane fire stove. Relax on the beach or bring your boat for some of the best fishing and crabbing in the Pacific NW.

Whiskey Creek Beach NW has exquisite views of the Straight of Juan De Fuca. The Codfish Cottage cabin is situated only a few feet from the beautiful pebble beach with unobstructed views of the Canadian Cascades.

Located just 25 minutes outside Port Angeles, our guests can enjoy the serenity and beauty of the Olympic Peninsula with easy access to town and some of the best hiking, hunting, fishing and exploring you will ever find. Not much further from that is the entrance to Sol Duc. Going the other direction you’ll find the Olympic Hot Springs and be close to Hurricane Ridge entrance . Cape flattery or the Hoh rainforest are not to be missed if you’re headed towards Sekui or Forks area.

* There is a great little store only 8 min from our cabins , Joyce General, that closes at 8pm. We are only 25 min from Port Angeles so if you’re looking for more options be sure to hit Safeway or Walmart off 101 before heading in for the night.

* Blackberry Cafe is a nice option for a meal out that is only 5-8 min from us. Family Kitchen and the One Twelve are two others near our place. In Port Angeles you have everything from amazing burgers at the Next Door Gastropub, tasty BBQ at Coyote Grill, yummy seafood and steak at Kokopelli Grill, Pho that’s the best at New Saigon. For quick and easy on the pocketbook, Fast Burrito with fresh tasty Mexican food . Also Sabi Thai has stellar Thai food. New Day Eatery has breakfast and lunch only, and is very good! Off the 101 on your way to Lake crescent, try out Granny’s Cafe open during the summer season.

They connect you to everything from the rain forest and beaches of the West end of O.N.P to the farthest most Northwest point in the continental the USA at Cape Flattery . We are also very close to Port Angeles, a major entry point to Olympic National Park as well as the gateway to international travel to Canada and Vancouver Island.

Our location provides a great base for all your adventures, or you may decide to just stay here. We are less than a mile to Discovery Trail for biking and hiking.

Our spacious living room invites you to relax on the sectional and enjoy a movie, or your favorite program, on the 65" smart tv.

Get a restful nights sleep on the king-size bed in a nice cool, air-conditioned bedroom. Or you'll find a very comfortable, full sized bed with an available privacy screen in the living room.

The bathroom features a tub with a rainfall shower head and wand for a rejuvenating full body shower...very soothing.

In the kitchen, we have provided all the basics such as spices, oil, sugar, flour, etc... for your convenience. Adjacent to our rental, you'll find a delightful chicken coop offering fresh eggs for sale to add a touch of rustic charm to your stay.

Take advantage of the shared laundry with our sister rental the Creekside Cottage, which is located behind this rental.

We understand that your furry companions are cherished members of your family. That is why we warmly welcome your well-behaved dogs and provide a few dog beds, bowls, & towels to ensure their comfort throughout your stay. Just bring their favorite blanket. We have 2 small dogs that love people, and other dogs, Gemma & Coco.

We hope you'll enjoy an evening around a fire pit, time for smores, either on your front porch or our new fire pit down by the creek. We have put up a "privacy" fence for your comfort. The briquette bbq is in the firepit area if you prefer to use that. Maybe even enjoy a game of night golf...its quite fun once you get started, maybe a little competitive, and a whole lot of laughs.

During the day there are chairs set up on the sandy beach by the creek for guests to use...so have a seat and dip your toes in the water, or bury them in the sand, while you breath in that fresh country air and just listen to that flowing water.

We have recently put up a no worries hammock that has been stabilized at one end (no flips). Very relaxing and a great place to take a nap... I've done just that. Try the swing in the big Maple tree or play a game of horseshoes. We also have Corn Hole, Bocce ball, and croquet games on site for your use too.

*Most GPS software is giving incorrect directions to our location. After you get onto the dirt road, you will come to a "Y" in the road. Follow the large red signs pointing to the right, and do not go up BeachComber drive to the left. Continue to follow signs to Whiskey Creek WEST. Our office is right after you drive through the anchors. We will be ready to check you in there.

The Space:
The quaint Little Red Cabin in the Woods is a real gem! You will love the rustic decorations and the view is beautiful. Private access, your own outdoor fire pit and picnic table to enjoy. Features a bedroom with a full-size bed and a queen sized pull-out bed in the living area. Couch and several chairs in the living area and a dining table. The wood-fire stove in the living area makes for a cozy warm setting throughout the whole place (NOTE: The wood burning fireplace is a secondary heat source for the cabin. (Firewood bundles can be purchased at booking or at the WCBNW office). A full kitchen with cookware, utensils, coffee pot, refrigerator stove and microwave. The bathroom offers a shower/tub and small sink vanity.

This cabin is owned by the neighboring Whiskey Creek Beach NW which has exquisite views of the Straight of Juan De Fuca as well as easy access to the Olympic National Park. You have access (walk or drive) to the beach where you can full views of the Canadian Cascades and relax or bring your boat for some of the best fishing and crabbing in the Pacific NW. Cape flattery or the Hoh rainforest are not to be missed if you’re headed towards Sekui or Forks area.

Welcome to a very TRUE Tiny Home experience. It’s was built on an 8x20 car trailer (160 square feet, average hotel room is 325 square feet, to put that in perspective). The space has a very small kitchenette with a small breakfast bar seating area, a tiny bathroom with an RV Toilet and a loft with a queen size bed. There is no “living room” area inside the home, just the great outdoors!! -This is a TINY HOME. Think camp trailer with VERY limited power & hot water. One plugged in item at a time is best. No hairdryers. 5 gallons of hot water so turn off water between rinse & lather, do dishes at a separate time & wait for tank to reheat. No usable space for “luggage.”
-No laundry or wifi, limited cell service.
-ONLY Registered guests on property. No visitors/friends not listed on reservation allowed. Septic is sensitive & exterior is shared so no extra guests.

We are located on the southern side at the base of Striped Peak, surrounded by Douglas Fir and Alder trees. Salt Creek Recreation Area is a short distance from the campsite with access to Crescent Beach and Striped Peak Trail leading to a secret beach. Just a short drive from Hurricane Ridge, Crescent Lake, Sol Duc River and Olympic Hot Springs, Marymere Falls, The Olympic Discovery Trail, Olympic National Forest. This site is a primative campsite.

Very Peaceful Private Propert, with trees and the brightest stars. These are Primitive Campsites with room for tents and parking. The only things provided is a Fire pit and Porta Potty. So bring your own water and whatever you Pack in Pack out. Otherwise there is a $15/per bag for garbage left behind. . Quiet time is at

This studio apartment is perfect for business or pleasure. All the furniture is top quality. The TV swivels so can be viewed by either sofa or the bed. There is a small table and chair for an office nook. The 3/4 bath has a stacked washer and dryer. 

The kitchen is limited but still equipped with the basics: refrigerator, dishwasher, microwave, hot plate and the usual small appliances (see picture). The cupboards and drawers have plates, cups, glassware, and silverware.

The shower is brand new tile with glass door. The heat pump provides both heat and AC.

Fragrance Free Home: we have supplied the home with unscented products (paper products, dish soap & detergent, clothes detergent, pump soap). Exceptions - shampoo and conditioner and wrapped tiny bar soaps. Our cleaners use fragrance free products.

This property is situated adjacent to another unit, with a securely locked connecting door on both sides. While the door remains inaccessible from either unit, ensuring privacy for all guests, the outdoor patio is a shared space, providing a welcoming area for relaxation and enjoyment.

Guest access
Plenty of parking on streets but you can park off the street in the carport or enter the alley and park next to the storage shed. Best if you park in the carport. Enter through the back gate and then through the back door.

Main bedroom has bedside tables with A/C and UCSB plugs for plugging in laptop computers or phone charging.
