This comfortable and spacious 4 bedroom cabin is the ideal home-away-from-home, and is very well equipped to accommodate families, with two full bathrooms and two levels. Very private, pet and kid-friendly fenced yard, back deck and gardens, with lots of room for you to bring an extra vehicle or boat. Only 50 yards/m to the waters edge from the front yard, and a short 2 min. walk to the public beach access down the street. Perfect setup for surfers - enjoy the surf nearby and rinse off in the gorgeous outdoor hot shower after your session!

Please note the house does not have air conditioning, so during the summer months we rely on open windows and ocean breezes + fans to keep the temperature comfortable at night.

Other things to note

The beds in our Cottage are a Queen size in the bedroom and Sofa-bed in the living room is also a Queen sized, as well, with a new memory foam mattress. There is a propane fire pit on the deck, as well as a covered barbecue area.

We just installed a gas heater indoors, as well as a new gas stove, for those days when the power goes out, so you will be warm, cozy and can at least cook.

There is a General Store down the road, but you will want to do your grocery shopping beforehand. They have basic necessities, lots of snack food, and a small liquor selection. If you forget something basic, they probably have it!

There will be a $300 Security Deposit PreAuthorized on your credit card, prior to your Check-in.

Our Cottage is Pet Friendly for dogs. Sorry, no cats.

The Cabin
Our 1 bedroom cabin is newly renovated and tastefully decorated with local art. It includes a king sized bed and ensuite with a walk in shower, a fully equipped kitchen and outdoor barbecue perfect for a romantic couples retreat. There is also a small loft that could accommodate an extra guest.

Location
Port Renfrew is known as the Tall tree Capital of Canada and the Gateway to the Pacific.
Access to the West Coast Juan De Fuca Trails, Avatar Grove, Lonely Doug, Botanical Beach and more hidden local secrets.
The beach and park is just a minute walk away, and less than a few minutes to stores, beaches, hiking trails, and dining out to local restaurants
Or if you prefer you can relax on your patio watching the wildlife, waves and memorable sunsets.

Please know that there is no cell service unless your on the Rogers network there’s 5G, in Port Renfrew but there is access to Wifi on the property and in specific locations around town.

The Space:
This quaint cedar cabin has everything you would need to make it "home away from home". A fully stocked kitchen, with a full-size fridge and stove. A huge oversized deck to relax on, or perhaps barbeque up a fresh salmon catch, and then settle in by the stunning outdoor stone fireplace. This is a quiet and peaceful cabin community of owners and guests - there is a palpable sense of tranquility whispered in the trees and in the distant crashing of the waves.
The cabin is professionally cleaned with a full hotel-grade linen change between each guest.
Guest access:
Guests will be given the code to access to a secure lock box for keys one day prior to arrival. There is parking for 2 vehicles, or one vehicle and one boat/trailer. Access to Pacific Gateway Marina is just a minute away.
There is a shared community laundry space available to cabin guests for longer stays (1 week or longer). There is a TV with Firestick for streaming (Netflix, Apple TV) and a DVD player and great selection of movies.
Kayaks are for owner use only, thank you.
Other things to note:
The main cabin is one bedroom/one bathroom. Please note the Bunkhouse is not attached to main cabin, but does have heat and lights, and a very solid and comfortable twin bunkbed (may not be suitable for guests with young children - probably more suited to guests 12 yrs and up).
Guest will have use of firewood, for use at the cabin only.

Guests have the use of the entire cottage through a PIN-activated lock. The passcode will be provided a few days prior to arrival. Remember to note it down so there are no unpleasant surprises on arrival as there is no cell phone service. We do recommend you bring a spare flashlight in the car during the winter months for easy entry. There are two parking spots immediately in front. We are pet-friendly knowing they are an important factor in our lives. We have waived our pet-fee through these COVID times.

We offer WiFi, Sirius/Amazon Radio, and Netflix/Amazon Movies on a Smart TV with Bose Sound Surround System, a well-stocked gourmet kitchen (sharp knives) with all full-size appliances/filtered water and balcony barbeque. Sit in the living room in front of the cozy gas fireplace; browsing our diverse library. Or enjoy watching the birdlife soar above San Juan Bay. Away from urban light pollution, nights are dark and there are plenty of stargazing opportunities.

The custom bathroom with a curbless shower and heated floor/towel rack offer all the traditional amenities and lots of fluffy bath towels. *** In order to contain the virus, we do not put offer as many fluffy choices. *** The bedroom has lots of cupboard/drawer space (oodles of hooks too) and a queen bed with deluxe coloured-linens and reading lights. We have various pillows to chose from and offer both summer and winter silk (NOT FEATHER) duvets. You have three levels of comfort to sleep on: mattress, foam topper and feather topper. I admit it is difficult to accommodate all tastes. We try. Lots of extra USB ports are conveniently located throughout the house.

Bjørn Holm is maintained with heart and soul; our space is professionally cleaned. Uncompromising cleaning and hygiene - additional cleaning, sanitizing, and hygiene practices in all areas with particular emphasis on high touch points and hard surfaces. Washer/Dryer is available for extended stays (7 or more nights). Advance notice is necessary to arrange access.

Stay tuned for our 2nd bedroom in late 2023/24. Located downstairs with separate entry, this space will have its own private deck, bathroom, and some kitchen amenities.

Here’s what you may not love:

- If you are lucky to be in Port Renfrew during a storm, you may experience a power outage, but we have equipped the home to help maintain a good experience such as candles, propane stove, fire table and BBQ. Power outage can occur year round in Port Renfrew, so it's best to come prepared with food, and enough fuel in our vehicle to make the return trip to Sooke or Lake Cowichan
- Cell phone service is only available for Rogers and Telus networks and any small providers that use that network. Emergency (911) calls can still be made with any carrier. It's sometimes possible to be able to connect to an American network in the right areas.
- Since our unit is located in a fourplex, you may hear some minor noise from the guests above as would be typical of a condo unit.

- HOME DETAILS AND AMENITIES -

This rental easily has enough room for two average size families with 800 square feet of living space. It is also well suited for anyone that has trouble with stairs as you can access the home from the parking lot directly.

KITCHEN: The new kitchen is well equipped with utensils, pots, pans, coffee maker, etc. along with all stainless steel appliances you will need for your vacation including a dishwasher.

LAUNDRY: There is also a stackable washer and dryer for your convenience.

LIVING ROOM: The living area is off the kitchen with plenty of comfortable seating, an electric fireplace and one pull out couch with queen bed. There is a large TV with a DVD/CD player, and cable as well as books and games.

BEDROOMS: 2 bedrooms both with queen size beds

BATHROOMS:
- Bathroom 1 – The main bathroom with tub, sink and toilet.
- Bathroom 2 – The ensuite bath to one bedroom with shower, sink and toilet.

PARKING: Easy access from your car with 1 spot in front of the home as well as additional visitor parking steps away on Baird Rd.

THIS is the reason we chose this beautiful spot! The attractions are endless with Port Renfrew being the ultimate nature’s playground. Enjoy world renowned fishing with a fishing charter at the marina steps away from the home.
Numerous breathtaking beaches are 5-20 minutes away including Botanical Beach, and Sombrio.
Enjoy nature walks or hiking including the WEST COAST TRAIL, and Avatar Grove with Canada’s gnarliest tree and old growth forests.
Visit local attractions such as Fairy Lake with a roughly 40 year old bonsai style Douglas Fir tree, and Big Lonely Doug.

Shore 2 Please - This Luxury cottage has 3 bedrooms, 2 fully equipped kitchens and 2 full size bathrooms. This cottage is pet friendly and has spectacular ocean and mountain views with a fire table and a gas BBQ on the huge balcony. There is also wood fire pit in the grassy backyard which you have access to as well.This will be a vacation you will never forget. You will want to return again and again.
The space
You have the option of booking the ENTIRE cottage (both A and B) which sleeps up to 10 or you can rent them separately - Upper and/or Lower. Both units have their own separate entrances, as well as a an optional connecting door inside. Free Wi-Fi is included.
The upper level is a 2 bedroom suite with a large dining and living room, including a queen sofa bed and gas fireplace. The king size bedroom is upstairs on the same level as the kitchen and living room. The 2nd bedroom has a queen bed andis on the lower level (stairs to access).A private ocean view balcony is equipped with a propane fire pit, gas BBQ and sitting area.
The lower level is a 1 bedroom suite with an open concept kitchen, dining and living room that has a sofa bed and electric fireplace. The south facing backyard patio has a gas BBQ, sitting area and wood burning fire pit (wood is available for purchase on Parkinson Road).
Other things to note
This area is popular for fishing, cycling and hiking. Surfing, paddle boarding and kayaking down the Gordon River is very popular. So many places to go hiking and exploring including the gorgeous Botanical Beach and the old growth of Avatar Grove. Take a 10 minute drive to Fairy and Lizard Lake and enjoy floating on an air mattress or a dip in the lake to cool off in the heat of the summer months. Check out the entrance to the West Coast and Juan d'Fuca Trails. Take a 5 minute stroll to the Pacific Gateway Marina and Bridgeman's Bistro open year round. Other amenities are the Port Renfrew Pub, the Coastal Kitchen (open seasonally) and Tomi's Cafe (great coffee, breakfast and lunch) at the foot of Baird Road. Food trucks are also in the community during summer months.

Our secluded Cottage and Bunkhouse sleeps up to 6 guests, featuring a new private covered hot tub, propane fire pit, covered gas BBQ, one bedroom, plus a queen sized sofa bed, in the Cottage, and two single beds in the Bunkhouse, a fully equipped kitchen, gas heater and a large deck with spectacular ocean, mountain and forest views. This is all at the end of a quiet cul-de-sac .

It is perfect for family gatherings and or that perfect 'Get-Away' to Paradise!

We are close to Avatar Grove, where you can enjoy Canada's Gnarliest Tree, and to Botanical Beach and Pacheedaht Beach. Enjoy the beauty of Mother Nature and all that surrounds Port Renfrew.

The cottage is at the end of a dead end road, up on a hill and offers our guests privacy. It is surrounded on 2 sides by an old growth forest, and the ocean and mountain views from the hot tub and the large deck are spectacular!

Our guests have complete and private access to the entire Cottage, Bunkhouse, the covered Hot Tub, and the spacious wrap-around deck.

Other things to note

The beds in our Cottage and the Bunkhouse are a Queen size in the bedroom, Sofa-bed in the living room is also a Queen sized, as well, with a new memory foam mattress, and 2 single beds in the Bunkhouse. There is a propane fire pit on the deck, as well as a covered barbecue area.

We just installed a gas heater indoors, as well as a new gas stove, for those days when the power goes out, so you will be warm, cozy and able to cook.

There is a General Store down the road, but you will want to do your grocery shopping beforehand. They have basic necessities, lots of snack food, and a liquor selection. If you forget something basic, they probably have it!

There will be a $300 Security Deposit PreAuthorized on your credit card, prior to your Check-in.

Our Cottage is Pet Friendly for dogs. Sorry, no cats.

The space There is a fully equipped kitchen in this open concept with with dining area, TV with Netflix, electric fireplace in the cozy living room with a double sofa bed. There is a wood burning fire pit in the backyard for night time gatherings to reminisce on the days activities and well as a gas BBQ on the back patio.

Port Place Cabin is located amongst Wild Coast Cottages in the heart of Port Renfrew. The cabin is located moments from Pacific Gateway Marina and Bridgemans Bistro. Other amenities within walking distance include the Renfrew Pub, Government Wharf, the General Store and other various eateries.
The space
This one bedroom, one bathroom cabin, located on a quiet street has a King Size Bed in the Master and option for a Queen Murphy Bed in the living room. Relax by the Propane Fireplace indoors alongside a full size TV with Netflix, Disney+ and Amazon Prime. A full kitchen is available including a propane range, full size fridge and complementary coffee bar. The spacious outdoor deck has a wrap around child/dog proof railing that includes covered areas for sitting around the fire table, full size BBQ, crab cooking setup and wood burning fire pit just off the patio.

*A bunkhouse will be added in the spring with a bunkbed, making it sleep 6 people with 4 separate beds in total. Details and pictures coming soon. *Bunkhouse now available*
Guest access
Cabin access is private and the driveway can accommodate one full size vehicle. There is plenty of additional communal parking alongside the cabin and throughout the Wild Coast Cottages. Guests will have access to the full cabin during their stay.
Other things to note
A guide to use the propane accessories will be provided in the guestbook located in the cabin along with other helpful tools. In the event of a power outage you will still be able to stay warm and use the range for cooking.

There are 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms upstairs, including an exquisite king primary and deluxe ensuite with a walk-in shower. The second bedroom is a spacious family room, with a queen bed and kids' bunk beds. For additional accommodation, the sectional in the living space pulls out into a full-size queen bed. Bedroom 3 is another queen situated downstairs with a private full bath. The downstairs is complete with a billiard room and access to the 7-person hot tub.

Need more space for your family or group? The Owl’s Hoot (Suite B) is another beautiful self-contained one-bedroom (plus double pull-out), one-bathroom suite with a full kitchen and living space. Tree Top Hideaway (Suite C) is a separate one-bedroom (plus futon), one bathroom, luxury carriage bungalow on the property, and can be booked as a complete package with the main house. This UPPER LEVEL cottage sleeps up to 6 with 2 bedrooms (1 king and 1 queen) and queen sofa bed in the living room. NOTE: The 2ND bedroom is downstairs from the main level. The open concept dining and living room has a gas fireplace with a fully equipped kitchen, including complimentary coffee, tea, spices and condiments. Free Wi-Fi and Netflix is included.
What you should know
This cottage is pet friendly and has the option of offering two separate suites. There is a $50 pet fee PER STAY. Both suites have their own separate entrance, or if renting as a whole, you may rent the whole cottage (sleeps up to10). There is an extra $25/each person fee for over 6 guests per stay.There is a connecting door inside for access to the lower suite.
*During busy times of the year, you may find guests in the lower suite so please be mindful of noise levels.

There is a bright and sunny green space in the back yard ideal for lawn sports such as horseshoes, botched ball, throwing a baseball, playing frisbee, etc. There is also a tennis court (free) in the residential area(beach camp) just a 10 minute walk away.
Other things to note
This area is popular for fishing, cycling and hiking, surfing, kite boarding, paddle boarding and kayaking. See Botanical Beach and old growth of Avatar Grove. Take a 10 minute drive to Fairy and Lizard Lake and enjoy floating on an air mattress or a dip in the lake to cool off in the heat of the summer months. Check out the West Coast and Juan d'Fuca Trails. Take a 10 minute stroll to the new Gateway marina and Bridgeman's Bistro (open 5 days a week). Other amenities are the Port Renfrew Pub, the Coastal Kitchen (open seasonally) and Tomi's Cafe (great coffee, breakfast and lunch) at the foot of Baird Road.

The kitchen was well enough set up to accommodate our cooking needs, it is never like a home kitchen of course but everything worked, with the exception of the salad slicer appliance, but that wasn't a deal breaker as we tend to slice our own veggies!! A huge plus for us was the ability to bring our dogs, we weren't aware that they were to be kept off the couches at booking, but as soon as we were aware it helped us to plan to respect this request of the owners. Perhaps putting this requirement in the ad, if it isn't already, would be a good idea. Overall we were exceptionally pleased with the stay."

the cottage is nestled in a rainforest, surrounded by the lush beauty of nature. While the hosts make efforts to clear away cobwebs, animal and bird droppings, as well as leaves and debris before guests arrive, they kindly ask guests to understand that the cottage is situated in the habitat of these creatures. Therefore, it's natural for them to rebuild their webs and nests. Appreciating this delicate balance between human habitation and the natural environment adds to the charm of the stay.

The space
A view of Port San Juan is seen from the kitchen window or when outside in the front yard. The beach is across the street, with public access just down the road to the left of the yellow house on the right.
The cottage is a studio with a queen bed as well as a pull out sofa bed. There is a set of ladder stairs to a loft area, not suitable for children.
The kitchen is fully equipped for cooking, please bring groceries if you plan to cook. The local store has limited stock, but good basics.
In the cooler months, wood is provided for the wood stove for added warmth and coziness. An axe is provided for guests.

A 1 bedroom 400 sq/ft cottage with a full kitchen and bathroom that will fit 4 comfortably. With the sofa bed it is possible to fit 6. There is a large deck with a wood fire pit and BBQ. Across the deck you will find a detached guest room with a 2nd queen sized bed. There is also a queen size pull out in the living room. For those rainy days, there is a propane fire bowl. Chill on the deck, or adventure out to the forest, beach or the rocky shore. The location gives access to many activities such as surfing, beach combing, kayaking, beach bumming, whale watching, storm watching and world class fishing.

Relax with the whole family or friends at this peaceful pet friendly place. Luxury oceanfront cottage that's great for world class fishing, hiking the famous Westcoast Trail/ Juan de Fuca Trail, beach combing at Botanical Beach or mountain biking some of the many dirt roads or simply cozying up with a book beside an indoor or outdoor fire.

The space
Our cottage is a one level 813 sq ft inside unit in a strata fourplex built in 2018. It has two steps up to the front entrance. Two 8 foot sliding doors lead to the outside deck overlooking Port San Juan, Pacific Gateway marina, and Pacific Rim National Park, featuring the Westcoast Trail. The large deck has a propane bbq and propane fire ring. The open concept living area has a fully equipped kitchen, dining table and sitting/tv area. The main bath has a bathtub and washer/dryer, while the ensuite has a walk in shower. Bedrooms come with a queen bed and a daybed that converts to a king. Parking for two vehicles is in front and right of the small garden below the bedroom window.

Other things to note
Port Renfrew is a 2 hour drive from Victoria or Nanaimo. Fairy and Lizard lakes are just a short 10-25 minute drive away. Avatar Grove is a popular hike through old growth forest and is home to Canada's gnarliest tree. Just past Avatar Grove is Big Lonely Doug (Canada's second largest Douglas fir) and the new Eden Grove trail (a short walk past Big Doug). Kayaking, surfing and paddle boarding are other available activities. Amenities include a gas station, EV charging station, small grocery/liquor store, Port Renfrew Pub, Coastal Kitchen (seasonal), Tomi's cafe and seasonal food trucks.

Visitors to the peaceful community of Port Renfrew will discover everything from world class fishing, an abundance of wildlife, miles of ocean shores including beautiful Botanical Beach to adventurous hiking trails in the majestic rainforest. Port Renfrew is an all-season destination and winter is the perfect time for storm watching.

The space
The cottage sits on a bluff overlooking the San Juan Harbour in Port Renfrew. It offers a bright, open living space with spectacular views from the covered, spacious ocean facing deck…complete with a BBQ for grilling the day’s catch. It’s a cozy retreat with abundant comforts.
The fully equipped kitchen with stainless steel appliances includes a dishwasher and an abundance of tableware, cookware and utensils for 'dining in'. Coffee and tea are provided.
The upper level living room and the lower level Games/TV room both feature comfortable lounge furniture, books, puzzles, board games, 'Smart' TV's with Netflix (DVD player is on the upper level TV, Wii is on the lower TV). Relax and unwind with amazing views of the ocean. Enjoy all of this with some popcorn! The air popper and popcorn kernels are in the kitchen.
Up to eight guests can sleep at the cottage. It has three bedrooms; the upper level bedroom features a queen-size bed, the lower level has a bunk bed room (two single beds) and the third bedroom provides a king size bed. The comfy couches in the upper level living room and the lower level Games/TV room convert into queen size sofa sleepers. Also, a pack n' play is available (we don't supply linens for the pack n' play).
For added convenience the upper and lower level bathrooms are fitted with a tub/shower combination, toilet, sink and complimentary soap, shampoo and conditioner. All linens and towels are supplied.
A separate laundry room with washer/dryer is on the lower level.
Outside, under cover, is the patio with an outdoor fireplace and complimentary firewood. The perfect place to enjoy roasting marshmallows…even in the rain. The whole property is yours to enjoy and to create many new memories.
Fish Tales cottage is located 1.5 hrs. drive west of Victoria and 2 hrs. from Nanaimo. Port Renfrew is beautiful all year round and the perfect destination for a romantic retreat, friends getaway or family vacation.

All guests have use of the entire cottage through a PIN-activated lock. There are two parking spots immediately in front. The house is on one level with 5-stairs from parking lot to front door.

We offer WiFi, Sirius/Amazon Radio and Netflix on a Smart TV with Bose Sound System, a well-stocked gourmet kitchen with full-size appliances (filtered water) and balcony barbeque. We highly recommend you download the Bose Soundtouch App to your phone or tablet. It controls Sirius/Amazon radio with such ease. *** Please DO NOT logon to your personal accounts ***

The custom bathroom with curbless shower and heated floor/towel rack offers all the traditional amenities; lots of fluffy big bath-size towels. The bedroom offers lots of desk space, a hanging cupboard with drawers; hooks galore. The queen-size bed offers quality linens and both a winter and summer duvet plus lots of pillow choices for a good night’s sleep. The beautiful painting was a custom commission by a very dear friend and accomplished artist.

The washer/dryer in the downstairs' utility room is available for extended stays of 5-days and more. Advance notice is necessary to arrange access.

Other things to note
Port Renfrew is on the edge of the wilderness. Amenities are still few. The gas station is now complete and open for business BUT TO BE SAFE please fill up your vehicle in either Sooke or Lake Cowichan.

Secondly, there is NO cell phone reception at all!!! Plan your communications. Our landline phone is for local calls and/or emergencies only.

Please advise if you are arriving with your pet. There is an additional pet charge to cover the extra cleaning required. *** We are waiving the pet fees during COVID ***

There will be welcoming treats awaiting your arrival but we highly recommend you bring your own groceries (don't forget the liquids) and the kitchen is nicely stocked for cooks; a little bit more than the basics including sharp knives! Comfort the body; feed the soul.

Remember you are on the wild west coast and power fluctuations are the norm. Be prepared. We have candles and flashlights available; lots of warm blankets to cuddle and the stove cooktop is gas and can easily be manually lit for cooking BUT we have a generator available for your use that will run everything EXCEPT the dishwasher, electric baseboards and washer/dryer. A manual with "easy-to-follow" instructions is hanging by the front door shelves (right-hand side as you enter). ** If you're not handy, we recommend acquainting yourself with the instructions and generator location ASAP.

We are offer the basic amenities plus little luxuries that we expect in our own home. If we've neglected something, please do let us know. This is a growth opportunity for us.

Stay tuned for our 2nd bedroom in 2023/24. Located downstairs with separate entry, this space will have its own private deck, bathroom and some kitchen amenities.

Nestled into the stunning coastline, Sitka House offers a bright, modern oasis for your next family getaway. This fully equipped home can accommodate seven guests!


Upstairs, an open concept living space is stylishly appointed with a dining area, living room, and full kitchen. Skylights fill the space with natural light, and a full wall of sliding glass doors leading out to the private balcony ensures that you never miss a moment of the spectacular ocean views— whether you decide to BBQ on the deck or whip up a meal inside. Quartz countertops and stainless steel full sized appliances, including a dishwasher, provide everything you’ll need for the comforts of home. The dining area features a full sized table with room for all, and there’s plenty of comfy seating around the gas fireplace. Cozy up here after an evening of adventures to relax, and make use of the Starlink high-speed internet connection and SmartTV. This main level also features a full bath.


Downstairs, a den space is furnished with bunk beds— a twin bed above a queen and provides ample indoor play space if you’re traveling with the kids! This level also features a spacious full bath, as well as a full sized washing machine and dryer. You’ll also find two stylish bedrooms, one with a king sized bed, and the second with a queen sized bed. Full sized sliding glass doors in both bedrooms let you enjoy the ocean views from the moment you wake up, and provide access to a private outdoor area where you can enjoy a relaxing fire with an ocean view.

This comfortable and spacious 4 bedroom cabin is the ideal home-away-from-home, and is very well equipped to accommodate families, with two full bathrooms and two levels. Only 50 yards/m to the waters edge from the front yard, and a short 2 min. walk to the public beach access down the street.

Other things to note
the cottage is nestled in a rainforest, surrounded by the lush beauty of nature. While the hosts make efforts to clear away cobwebs, animal and bird droppings, as well as leaves and debris before guests arrive, they kindly ask guests to understand that the cottage is situated in the habitat of these creatures. Therefore, it's natural for them to rebuild their webs and nests. Appreciating this delicate balance between human habitation and the natural environment adds to the charm of the stay.

There is limited cell service in Port Renfrew, but the cottage has WI-FI. Guest can email, or enable WI-FI calling on their smart phone, or use other application to call such as What's app, or others. There is also a couple pay phone in town if needed. Current cell phone providers that work in the area are Rogers, Fido, Shaw and limited Telus.
