Deluxe large 3 bedroom, ocean view cottage rental. This fully appointed cottage sleeps up to 6. The main level is a large open space with 2 sliding patio doors leading to a beautiful large deck, BBQ & spectacular ocean view. The kitchen is fully equipped has granite counter tops and looks out to the ocean. There's a cozy electric fire place in the living room, and a full bathroom. The bedrooms and second full bathroom are located on the lower level. There is also a small nook containing a bar fridge and sink. The 3rd bedroom has a comfy pull out sofa bed (double full memory foam mattress) and a TV with Blu-Ray player. The bedrooms have queen beds, sliding patio doors and partial ocean views. There is a portable fire bowl located on the lower lever, with chairs. Axe and firewood are not supplied, however firewood can be purchased at the San Juan Market store or along the main road (Parkinson Rd.).

Welcome to the beautiful rugged West Coast. Home to Tall Tree Music Festival, and Song'nSurf. You will see bald eagles flying around, and loads of humming birds. Just a 5 minute walk to the beach and marina. We are at the end of the cul-de-sac and we are the most private property surrounded by cedars on all sides. Our property is larger than most. The name, "A Shack In The Woods" was chosen for personal reasons. It is not a shack by any means and we are not totally secluded . A lovely cottage by the sea, built in 2011 with approximately 450 SF. The fire pit area has slate all around and is hidden by the cedars. Firewood is supplied at no charge. Fully equipped kitchen with all the amenities you will need to cook up that great catch of the day! BBQ on the deck that is enclosed, which makes it ideal for your child or pet. The bedroom has a queen size bed with 2" foam topper. You have patio doors to take in the lovely sun that shines all afternoon at the front of the cottage. Ideal for those who love to sunbathe! There is a queen size hide a bed in the living room with a top of the line mattress, without bars. Sheets and quilts are provided. The bathroom has a tub/shower and is supplied with towels, shampoo, conditioner, and body wash. There is a table for 4 in the kitchen. Flat screen TV, Netflix and wifi supplied. There are some games to play and some kids toys. A pet bed, dishes, toys and leash are also in the cottage. You will find 4 comfy chairs around the fire pit. Star gazing at it's best! There is loads of parking on the property.

Great area for hiking, fishing, crabbing. exploring, swimming, kayaking etc.. Avatar Grove is close by and Botanical Beach is at the end of the roadway, approximately 10 minutes by car. There are three restaurants : Tomi's, The Coastal Kitchen and the Renfrew Pub. You will find a book inside, with all the information you may need. There are fishing charters at the marina that you can hire. There is a very good chance that you will see and hear Killer whales and humpback whales. A fantastic get away from the city. Cozy and romantic, yet ideal for 1 couple, or a couple with kids.
Because Port Renfrew is wild and windy at times, we may experience unforeseen power outages. We have candles inside and a great firepit outside.

Welcome to "Newfie Seaside Retreat", our ocean view cottage. Built in the summer of 2018, it features all the modern comforts of home and sleeps 8 comfortably in 4 separate bedrooms. This spacious 1,400 square foot cottage, complete with pine feature walls and live edge wood accents, offers you a rustic feel while providing you with all the modern luxuries. Upstairs, you will find a fully equipped kitchen, complete with a full size fridge/freezer, gas stove and dishwasher. The dining area can comfortably seat 8 or more. Sit by the cozy gas fire place on those rainy days. The large sliding doors lead out to the spacious covered patio which features a sitting area to take in the ocean, mountain and beach views. There is also a large BBQ. Binoculars are provided to view the many eagles nesting in the adjacent trees. This level has a full bathroom and two bedrooms which have brand new queen and double beds, comfortably sleeping 4 adults.

The lower level has a second bathroom, a third and forth bedroom and full laundry facilities. This is a true 4 bedroom cottage with no pull-out beds in sight! There is a second patio on this level with grassy area for lawn games and a fire pit.

All towels, bedding, linen, soap and shampoo are provided complimentary. Free Wi-Fi is included. Port Renfrew is a world class fishing resort with regular charters leaving from the Pacific Gateway Marina which is located just steps away from the cottage. Restaurants, pubs and gift shops are all within walking distance.

- "I wouldn’t suggest coming in at night via lake cowichan. The road is terribly twisty and fog made it hard to see. Other than that it was an incredible stay. Would have been nice if there was a gift shop and maybe a hot tub. Loved watching the eagles on the trees outside the cabin and got to see a whale at botanical beach! Wear good hiking shoes for botanical beach though.only sharp rocks. Botany Bay is safer for younger kids but botanical beach had more to see in tide pools. Access to ocean is only at marina entrance short walk from cabin. You can also walk to the beach from there. Lots of driftwood for pictures"

Welcome to Sandy Feet Retreat- Port Renfrew!
This brand new luxury 2 bed/1 bath home has everything you need to relax and unwind in this rugged location on the Wild West Coast of Vancouver Island.
There is an open concept area with Dining, Living and Kitchen space all together so that you can take in the incredible views through the floor to ceiling windows, no matter what you are doing! The kitchen is fully stocked including the basic spices, condiments and all the utensils, pots/pans for you to use to cook yourself a nice meal. We also provide coffee and Tea! The living room has a gas fireplace to cozy up near, as well as a 50 inch 4K smart TV with Netflix. Family games are also available. There is also a large dining room table that seats 6 for all your larger family meals.
There are 2 bedrooms – one is arranged with a large King bed and the second bedroom has 2 twin beds. The sofa in the living room also pulls out into a comfortable queen sized sleeping space. The cottage is outfitted with extra pillows and blankets throughout. We even have a crib on hand for those travelling with children under 2.
There is 1 full bathroom with tub and shower that has extra towels on hand and complementary shampoo, conditioner and body wash.
There is also a washer and dryer in the bedroom closet should you need to do a load or 2 of laundry while you are there.
There is a large deck with seating for 6 that includes a gas BBQ, propane firepit and a magnificent ocean and mountain view, perfect for spotting whales, eagles and other wildlife!
There is also free Wifi/ Netflix throughout and board games for those trying to stay away from screen time.
This is the perfect cottage for a staycation, family getaway, family reunion or just with friends!!
Port Renfrew is located just 1.5 hours from Victoria and 2 hours from Nanaimo and is popular for fishing, cycling and hiking. Surfing, paddle boarding and kayaking down the Gordon River is also very popular. There are also many places to hike and explore including the gorgeous Botanical Beach and the old growth of Avatar Grove. Whether it’s ancient tall trees, gorgeous beaches, five-star fishing, surfing, or world famous hiking along the West Coast Trail everything is steps away from your front door.
For the small size of Port Renfrew, there are numerous options to enjoy great food and drinks in the local area. The Renfrew Pub, Coastal Kitchen Cafe, Tomi's Home Cooking, and Bridgeman's Restaurant are all great choices that consistently receive outstanding reviews. A limited selection of groceries including beer, wine and spirits can be purchased at the Port Renfrew General Store (open from 9am-7pm every day). Gas, diesel and propane are available at the new gas station. There are a few cafes and bistros available just minutes away from the cottage. Debit and credit cards are accepted at all major establishments.
It is important to note that there are power outages that occur in Port Renfrew, so please be prepared. Port Renfrew is ruggedly beautiful, and part of it's charm is that it is extremely isolated. A downfall of the isolation, is that if the weather causes a tree to fall on the power lines, or some other incident occurs, power will be out and it may take a few- numerous hours to be repaired by BC Hydro. The power outages are completely out of our control. We do provide LED lanterns for light, and the stove, bbq, and outdoor fireplace will work (light them with the long lighters provided). As well, there should hopefully be enough hot water in the tank to last the outage and the fireplace will still work to keep you warm.
Lastly, it should be noted that Port Renfrew is a developing town and may not be as quiet as expected. We cannot control if there is construction or if a neighbour is maintaining their property during normal working hours. Please be aware and understand that outdoor noise is out of our control and we do not know if and when it will happen.

Our house rules: no smoking/ vaping in the cottage, no pets whatsoever in the cottage, no parties in the cottage.

The Market Store is perfect for those extra items you forget to pick up at the grocery store in Sooke, even has fun stickers!"

The Lair is one of our pet friendly accommodation in Port Renfrew and can accommodate two comfortably or a family of four. This cottage has upgraded to High Speed Internet.
The cottage is equipped with propane cooking stove and propane fireplace. It is furnished with a fully equipped kitchen, queen size bed in a separate bedroom and double hide-a-bed in living area.
The bedroom has Cable T.V, a white noise machine, and lamps with USB plug in's. The living room TV is equipped with blue-ray player, DVD movies, and Netflix. Starlink High Speed Internet for WI-FI is provided.
Has a pack and play playpen, and children's books. Fire Guard screen for the fireplace.
Outside you will find a large front deck with a built-in fire pit, an outdoor heater, BBQ, picnic table and lounge chairs make this place ideal for entertainment.
The Lair also has a long driveway almost 50ft long so can accommodate a boat or any other long vehicles. Has cozy gas fireplace in the family room.
Port Renfrew is in the wilderness, and the power goes out occasionally - Our battery backup system means you can charge your phone and continue to use the internet for up to 2 hours in the event of an outage!

Of course, Netflix and Cable TV is available - in addition to a library of classic DVD's.

The space
Our cottage is a one level 813 sq ft inside unit in a strata fourplex built in 2018. It has two steps up to the front entrance. Two 8 foot sliding doors lead to the outside deck overlooking Port San Juan, Pacific Gateway marina, and Pacific Rim National Park, featuring the Westcoast Trail. The large deck has a propane bbq and propane fire ring. The open concept living area has a fully equipped kitchen, dining table and sitting/tv area. The main bath has a bathtub and washer/dryer, while the ensuite has a walk in shower. Bedrooms come with a queen bed and a daybed that converts to a king. Parking for two vehicles is in front and right of the small garden below the bedroom window.

Other things to note
Port Renfrew is a 2 hour drive from Victoria or Nanaimo. Fairy and Lizard lakes are just a short 10-25 minute drive away. Avatar Grove is a popular hike through old growth forest and is home to Canada's gnarliest tree. Just past Avatar Grove is Big Lonely Doug (Canada's second largest Douglas fir) and the new Eden Grove trail (a short walk past Big Doug). Kayaking, surfing and paddle boarding are other available activities. Amenities include a gas station, EV charging station, small grocery/liquor store, Bridgeman's Bistro, Port Renfrew Pub, Coastal Kitchen (seasonal), Tomi's cafe and seasonal food trucks.

All the kitchen ware made me feel to clean it before using it. All in all it is a cozy place to stay and we have been lucky enough to enjoy 5 sunny days and could go to the beaches every day. "

The Explorer's Retreat is one of our cottages at Handsome Dan's and is Pet Friendly. It has a beautiful private sauna and can accommodate 2 comfortably, or a family of 4 with the use of the sofa bed (can also be rented with bunkhouse add on in additional listing).

Guests can also enjoy scenic barbecues with the propane barbecue, as well as roast marshmallows around the fire pit. Perfect after a day of exploring Port Renfrew!

The Cat's Pajamas just got its own private hot tub! It is one of our pet friendly accommodation in Port Renfrew. With it's large private wrap around deck surrounded by trees and nature, it is sure to please nature lovers. The Cat's Pajamas can accomodate two comfortably or a family of four. It features a fully equipped kitchen with a gas cooking stove, queen size bed, double hide-a-bed in living area and full bathroom. Flat screen T.V. with DVD player and some movies and WiFi also available. Outside an outdoor propane fire table on a large wrap around deck with propane BBQ.

Exceptional Pacific Northwest Rainforest natural experience, hiking, beachcombing, surfing nearby, storm watching at Botanical Beach, world class salmon and halibut fishing, abundant wildlife and the magnificent forest of Avatar Grove; a photographer's dream. Chateau de Gino is right next to the French Girl's Lair.

Five minutes of walking from the cottage will get you to the Pacific Gateway Marina if you're going fishing or you want to take in the sea air. Tommy's Home Cooking (The THC Diner) and The Coastal Kitchen Cafe are a five minute walk away if you get tired of your own cooking. And the pub at the PortRenfrew Hotel is maybe a fifteen minute walk. They have food too.

You can get a few basic groceries including beer, wine and the hard stuff at the General Store on Parkinson Road. It's a good idea though to stock up on groceries on your way to Port Renfrew in Sooke or Cowichan Lake if you are travelling from the other direction. Of course everyone takes credit cards, debit cards and that ancient currency, cash.

Dave and Morley's is one of our pet friendly cottage rentals. It is furnished with a full kitchen, queen size bed in the bedroom and a double futon in the living area.
