Some things you'll need to know about our property before you book with us.
It will be important that you are able to climb the fairly steep slope of the driveway and up the stairs/pathway to the cottage entry (see pictures)
In the bathroom the tub is a Japanese soaked tub which means it is deeper than your average tub so you would need to have the mobility to make the step down into the tub. (see pictures)
In the forest setting enjoy the large outdoor deck with a built in bench area. Create a savory meal on the gas BBQ and enjoy under the trees in the outdoor eating area. Throughout the summer season the deck area has sun and shade from 10:00 in the morning until 4:00 at night.
Decorated in 'cottage style' with your comfort and enjoyment built into each room. The master bedroom & guest rooms each come with comfortable queen size beds with memory foam toppers for extra comfort. The loft area provides additional sleeping space with 2 twin beds tucked up under the eaves. At this time we are only taking bookings for 4 guests.
Our kitchen is fully equipped with a small stove and apartment sized refrigerator, slow cooker, microwave, kettle, toaster, cutlery, dishes, pots and pans (everything you need to make your home cooked meals). Don’t feel like cooking? Just 10 minutes’ drive to the village of Sechelt you will have a wide variety and number of restaurants to choose from.
The bathroom is outfitted with a rain shower and a deep Japanese soaker tub perfect for a relaxing soak. Towels are proved for each guest. For guest staying over 30 nights we do have a washer and drier available.
For quiet evenings spent indoors, the cottage comes with cable television, a Firestick with Netflix, Amazon Prime and Disney Plus, wireless internet, DVD player and charging station.
In the summer season, we have everything you'll need to spend your days at the beach from large beach blankets, chairs & sun umbrella, thermal cooler, to picnic dish-ware & glasses. Just bring your own beach towels and you'll be good to go.
For winter getaways Annaway is just 30 mins away from the local cross country and snowshoeing trails up in the Dakota Ridge ski area.
On cool winter nights firewood is provided to build a fire in the wood stove, and snuggle down to enjoy a book or a game from our wide selection of games and puzzles.

A special note to our valued guests during post Covid times. We always strive to be a super clean location but have stepped up our cleaning routine to include disinfecting all “touch surfaces “. It takes us a full 5 plus hours between guests to do everything we need to to make sure the space is as clean and disinfected as possible for you so early check-in or late checkouts aren’t possible for us to do at this time.

- "Myself and two friends stayed two night in Ivana’s loft apartment. It was perfect. Every detail was thought about. The loft is large and very comfortable with a spectacular deck over looking the water. We started each day with a yoga session, first day at the water’s edge under a gorgeous tree, and the second at the end of the dock. We swam, hiked, BBQ’d, happy hour’d and as one of my friends said, “we basked in the simplicity”. The trek down to the water is a little steep, but totally manageable. I can’t say enough about the property and the very generous and kind owners. Loved every minute! Thank you!!"

Herons Return is a traditional timber frame cottage, with two queen bedrooms, and one with the option of 2 twin beds or a bunkbed for children. Perfect for couples, or multigenerational families. A fully equipped gourmet kitchen, large living room with 180 degree views of the mountains, forest and cove, a large covered deck and a sundeck with a four person hot tub overlooking the cove are exclusively yours during your stay. Please note that the posted rates are for one couple. Additional guests/bedrooms are extra. We can take a maximum of 6 people (including children).

Please also note that we have a private owner's area is on the property. has a private entrance accessed by the same driveway. You may see us working in the garden or slipping down to the cove for a quick paddle. We are happy to help if you need anything during your stay. Just let us know. If we are not onsite, our property manager is just a phone call away.

Sechelt inlet is a calm inland sea with starfish, seals, crabs and shellfish right in the cove. Our timber frame home is on the ocean front in the peaceful community of Tuwanek on the Sunshine Coast of BC. Nestled on the shores of Lamb Bay at the foot of Mount Richardson it offers a retreat from the world; a great place for a romantic escape, or to rejuvenate with family or friends.

You have a choice of 3 of our four bedrooms, each with a unique configuration. You can choose the ones that best suit your needs (up to six people). The master bedroom looks out to the cove, beach and across the inlet. It has a queen size bed, skylights to watch the stars, and a private deck for two. The other queen room has views of the cove, beach and mountain. The third room, with two twin beds, looks up to the mountain on one side and out to the forest on the other. The optional fourth bedroom is a children's room with a bunk bed and easy stairs to the top bunk. It looks into the forest through windows and a skylight.

All of the rooms come with high quality linens, puffy duvets, and a choice of pillows.

There are two bathrooms. The main floor bathroom includes a shower. Upstairs is a spa bath with shower and soaker tub for two. The WC upstairs is separate from the 'spa bath' so as not to disturb long soaks in the tub.

On the main floor the gourmet kitchen is custom built of alder wood by a local craftsman. It is fully equipped to cook your catch from the cove or craft a romantic meal from produce gathered at the local farmers markets. There are roasting and baking pans, serving dishes and place setting for six. The kitchen island and eating bar let family and friends gather while the 'chefs of the day' do their thing. The dining table expands out to comfortably seat six but also folds down for a romantic dinner for two.

The open living area is surrounded by windows to capture light and views of the cove, beach and mountain. It is heated by a wood burning stove (wood is supplied) as well as an energy efficient heat pump. A media room with flat screen TV, Apple TV is also on the main floor. WiFi connection, Optik TV and Netflix are complimentary.

Outside are four decks. The covered deck is a great space for all seasons. The sitting area under the covered deck is like an outdoor living room, a cozy space to gather to watch wildlife in the cove, and take in amazing sunsets. In winter we love to cozy up with a blanket and mug of tea to watch weather come down the mountain, and cormorants and herons fishing in the cove. In summer is it a shaded place to marvel at the humming birds battling over the bird feeder and eagles soaring overhead. In fall we can see into the clear water to watch seals and schools of salmon visit the cove. Barbecueing is comfortable in all seasons under the sheltered deck (Propane supplied).

The outdoor dining table has seating for six and is well placed to take in the sunsets. The herb pots grow year round. Please help yourself to fresh herbs for your meals.

Down a few stone steps is a sun deck with a warm outdoor shower and a hot tub looking out to the islets. Bath robes and extra large hot tub towels are supplied.

From this deck private stairs lead down to the beach. Beach chairs and umbrella are available. Kayak rentals are right next door at Pedals and Paddles. There is also car access to the beach just down the main road.

In the front is a sitting area for two placed to capture the morning light on the mountain and cove.

Upstairs off the master bedroom is a romantic balcony built for two.

The cottage is a traditional timber frame with fir posts and knee braces, 14 ft ceilings upstairs and fir flooring. The posts and braces are entirely structural. The stairs are made from one tree. Iron work on the stairs was designed by a local artist and welder.

Soak up majestic ocean views and sunsets serenaded by frogs in Lamb Creek. Watch salmon and seals in the cove and eagles and herons overhead. Walk down your private stairs to one of the best swimming and kayaking beaches on the coast. Pamper yourself with a soak in the hot tub nestled in the hillside overlooking the inlet and its islands. In the evening gaze at the stars, mesmerized by the sound of the waves tickling the shore.

Due to the extreme sensitivity of the cove, guests will not be allowed to moor their boats in the cove or on the beach. Anchoring on the sandy bottom is absolutely prohibited due to the ecological sensitivity of this area. Please make arrangements with local marinas for mooring. Kayaks can be store on the lower deck when not in use.

This is a sloped property that requires average mobility. The Grande Vista suite is not a family or pet friendly unit. The OCEAN VISTA suite is a 900+ sq ft suite with magnificent ocean views. The living area features a cozy gas fireplace and a large wall of floor-to-ceiling windows. Our 3 bedroom waterfront home is located at the end of Sechelt’s ‘golden mile’. You can’t beat the location of this home. Nearly every window in the home has an ocean view.
Swim from the beach. Watch seals, eagles, dolphins and sometimes whales from the deck.
The Sunshine Coast offers numerous hiking trails and other natural attractions.
We are located down 35 well lit stairs. Due to this the house is not suited for people with mobility issues.
Our two level home has 2 queen bedrooms upstairs with an office in between. There is a second floor patio across the entire upper floor. You will find a king bedroom downstairs off the main living area.
There is one full bathroom with a bathtub and shower as well as a half bathroom off the main living area. An outdoor shower is open from spring until fall. We shut it down in winter to prevent any freezing.
Our kitchen is fully stocked with everything you will need to make meals. Restaurants are also close by.
We have a natural gas BBQ as well as an outdoor fire pit that can be used year round.
You will access the house from the main highway. We have private parking for guests with camera access to ensure your vehicle is safe.
The house is located directly on the water with stairs leading to the waters edge. There is a steep retaining wall and as such, this house is not well suited for young children.

- "Beautiful area and so close to a lovely beach. Quiet and private and very spacious. Would certainly come back here again. A few comments however, there was nothing to start a fire for the wood burning stove upon arrival. We arrived late at night and it was very dark out to go search for kindling. Would have been nice to have that so we could get the logs provided going. We did contact the property manager next morning but never heard from him all weekend. Although we found where the wood is stored, it would have been nice to receive a follow up call. I noticed a couple of things that indicated the place hadn't been thoroughly cleaned - behind the bed along the wall on main floor there was a think layer of dust and hair along the baseboard which was surprising and the bbq outside had thick white mold growing on it and the grill hadn't been cleaned from previous guests. We didn't use the bbq for obvious reasons. But with all that said, I would like to come here again!"

Private, cozy, historic Sunshine Coast cottage, but with all the upgrades and amenities you will need to enjoy your stay. The views are the main attraction, but the home is also very comfortable. Much of the house has been updated including the electrical (including an EV charger) and bathrooms, while still retaining some of the charm of this 1930's home. The back deck includes dining for 6, a BBQ, umbrella and some additional seating. The views and sunsets are breathtaking. The house sits on a double lot and there is plenty of space and trees between you and the neighbours.

There is a full bathroom and an extra shower in the laundry room.
A full kitchen with everything you will need to get started.
Comfy beds and linens. The master bedroom has views out to the water from the bed, which makes for a relaxing and leisurely morning, if you're so inclined.

The stairs to the beach are currently under construction and are not safe to use. There are two beach accesses approx. 150 metres in either direction from our cottage. The Snodgrass beach access has parking as well.

There is a Roku smart TV, if you can tear yourself from the views, as well as games and books and toys for the kids.

There is also a high chair and a pack in play at your disposal.

The space
Available for 90-180 days in 2024, Ravenwood Cottage is located in the cozy and quaint neighbourhood of Tuwanek by the Sechelt Inlet on the beautiful Sunshine Coast of BC . Our cottage has an open plan main floor with a vaulted ceiling, a galley kitchen with everything you need and a dining table that seats 4-6.

Get ready to relax: the living room area features a comfy L-shaped couch with a double pull out bed and a reading chair, as well as a wood burning stove. There is a 40" HD TV with Netflix, Disney, Discovery, Crave, Apple TV and Amazon streaming access and a portable WiFi speaker for streaming from your devices.

Also on the main floor is a full bathroom, washer/dryer and primary bedroom with a king sized bed (be prepared to get the best sleep of your lives). The guest room is on the second floor and has two twin beds (able to be pushed together to make a king size bed) with a half bath. All bedrooms have a dresser. All appliances are less than 2 years old, including a cute little portable dishwasher!

The cottage sits on a 1/3 acre private, treed lot that backs onto the forest. There is lots of room for kids of all ages to play, along with a fire pit, a deck out front and off the main bedroom out back, BBQ, and cozy chairs to enjoy this beautiful outdoor space. Grab a cold drink, sit on the deck and enjoy the chill vibes and sounds of this cozy retreat.

Our space is ideal for couples and families - while our capacity is normally 4 people, we can accommodate 2 additional children with a portable Phil & Ted's crib and the pull out double bed couch in the living room. We also have an IKEA highchair available for use for your little one and we have a good selection of books & games for all ages, as well as toys, in the living room.

Centrally located, our cottage is a great home base for exploring the Sunshine Coast. Zip down to Sechelt or Gibsons for dinner, hop up & down the Coast from brewery to cidery, hike in Cliff Gilker Park or at Smuggler's Cove, swim in low tide at Roberts Creek picnic area or in deep waters at Ruby Lake, explore the water in a kayak up the Sechelt Inlet or in a water taxi to Thormanby Island - all within 1 hour of the cottage.

Ravenwood Cottage is located on the unceded lands of the shìshàlh Nation. We are grateful to be able to gather on this land and promise to steward it with responsibility and respect.

There is parking on the property for 3 cars maximum. All guests must park on the property (street parking is prohibited). The cottage is located a 7 minute (450 metre) walk downhill to the Lamb Bay beach and 10 minutes walk to the Tuwanek Spit. Lamb Bay beach is a small stone beach with some sandy areas, rock shoes are recommended here and ideally to explore the whole coast. Swim, paddle or beach comb to your heart's content at this amazing spot that rarely gets busy.

For those interested in exploring the Sechelt Inlet on the water, there are kayak rentals available through Pedals and Paddles, right off Lamb Bay. There is wonderful hiking at nearby Hidden Grove Heritage Forest (4 minute drive), where there are trails for all abilities to explore the lush and beautiful second and old growth forest trees and scenic look outs. Sechelt is a short 10 minutes away and you can find all basic amenities (grocery, hardware, pharmacy, restaurants, etc.), as well as a seasonal Farmer's Market on Saturdays and a public indoor pool and library.

Accessibility: The Cottage is, unfortunately, not wheelchair accessible.

The most common way to get to the cottage is via the Horseshoe Bay ferry terminal, the crossing to the Sunshine Coast/Langdale is 40 minutes. The cottage itself, is about 45 minutes directly from the Langdale ferry terminal. Reservations are highly recommended, especially during peak seasonal times. The area is also accessible by float plane through Sunshine Coast Air.

Other things to note
Ravenwood Cottage is only available for rentals of 90-180 days for 2024.

The damage deposit is a hold that Air Bnb puts on renters' card. Payment is only deducted for damages that the Air BnB Resolution Centre approves and must first be submitted by the host. In the event of any significant damage, the host will first contact renters to disclose and discuss and only submits claims to Air Bnb that are not resolved between host and renter. Charges for normal wear and tear (broken glasses or plates, etc.) will not be charged through a damage deposit process on Air Bnb. Please do not hesitate to ask us if you have any questions about this.

The cottage is an old timer and has many updates and loads of modern amenities. We have kept the charm wherever possible, while still making it cozy and comfortable.

The living room has a fold down couch and can accommodate 1 adult comfortably, or two children. We have books, games, puzzles and some toys for the kids (Ikea wood train set, Mobile people) a wood burning fireplace and a Roku TV with high speed internet.

The kitchen has all your basics and a few extras (rice cooker and air fryer) and newer appliances.

The two beds are comfortable and the linens are all quality cotton from The Bay, Simons, or Ikea.

Although there is only one bathroom, there is an extra shower in the laundry room.

The fully enclosed and gated deck has a BBQ and a lots of seating.

We have a Grizz-le level 2 charger for your EV vehicle.

Beach access is a short walk/bike/drive, approx. 150 metres in either direction.
There is no direct access to the beach on the property. The stairs on the property are under construction and unsafe to use at this time and not to be used. Please use the public beach access.

We are a scenic 40 minute ferry ride from Horseshoe Bay (West Vancouver) to Gibsons on the Sunshine Coast, followed by a short 25 minute drive to Sechelt. Everything you need is in downtown Sechelt including shopping, dining, hospital, aquatic centre, sea plane tours, and more.

Our cottage is located 9km north of Sechelt in the village of Tuwanek. A paddler’s and diver's paradise!

Nestled amongst the trees, relax and reset in this unique home where the curated interior mirrors the beauty of the nature surrounding it. The large sprawling deck allows you to peacefully soak in the views of the Sechelt Inlet. Or take a moment or three to appreciate the large arbutus tree etched across your sight line. Our place is easy to find, but hard to forget.

The space
The interior living space is completely open with large vaulted ceilings and skylights beaming the sunlight into the house. A newly renovated laundry room is ready for you to clean up in after all your outdoor adventures. The upstairs guest bathroom has a large shower perfect for washing away those daily worries. The master bathroom has a large soaker tub that is perfect for bubbles and wine. The three bedrooms are cozy, comfortable and quiet and they offer the perfect silence for a restful and deep sleep.

Guests will have access to the main house and the large patio. We ask that guests not roam the property as it is located on a steep slope and is forested.

Of note, there is a separate, self-contained suite in the house where the operator of the rental lives. There is a separate entrance to the suite located to the west side of the house. Please do not walk around the house so as not to disturb their privacy.  If you are facing the front door, the path to the left that leads around the house leads to the suite. Please do not access this area of the yard, and please keep any pets leashed at all times.
