- "This is not a villa. It’s a basement suite. We expected it to be associated with the Four Seasons hotel chain; it is not. It’s a basement of a private home in a residential neighbourhood. The view is real. The beds are comfortable. The lights in the kitchen also turn on the lights in the master bedroom, so when one of our party got up at 1am, they woke me up by turning the lights on in my bedroom. He was kept awake by a low battery alarm on his doorknob constantly making an alert sound. The other member of our party found the toilet would not flush. This was a business trip, my first with these partners, so I was very embarrassed. The advertising is misleading. "

Our home is located in a quiet, upscale neighborhood of the Westview area.
It is within walking distance or a short 2-minute drive to the beach, sea walk, hiking trails, shopping district, and restaurants. It is also close to the ferry terminal and airport.

Our newly renovated 3 bedroom/ 2 bathroom suite (1 king, 1 queen bed, and bunk bed ) sleeps up to 8 guests. There is a pull-out sofa in the kid's bedroom. Enjoy a large bright kitchen with all large, new appliances and an open concept living room with easy access to the patio overlooking the stunning ocean views. House is beautifully furnished with comfort in mind and is provided with everything that is needed including towels and linens. There is a lot of storage space.

From the private patio, you can enjoy a peaceful ocean view and the most beautiful sunsets on the West Coast.

- "This property was absolutely perfect for our extended family group. The property was extremely clean and tidy. There was enough seating in the living room and dining room and beds for all of us. The pull out bed in the third bedroom was made up with a mattress topper and was comfortable for our teen. It was nice to have it ready for us when we arrived. The view was spectacular from the dining room and the deck. The washer and dryer worked well and there was even a drying rack on the deck. So handy. We would stay here again in a heartbeat."

The fireplace is intact from the 1930’s, as well as the original blue bathtub and sink. The original wrought iron fence and gate are still a part of the front entrance garden.

Recently fully renovated and tastefully furnished one-bedroom suite (minimum 90 night stay). Sleeping accommodation: a queen size bed in a bedroom. The suite has a patio with an ocean view. We are located in Westview, minutes away from shopping, beautiful nature trails, and a sea walk.

The space
Ocean view from entire 520 sq. ft. of living space! Open concept with kitchen, dining area, and living area together. Large sliding glass doors from both living area and bedroom open onto a 200 sq. ft. private patio. The entire patio is covered and is an extension of the living space with comfortable furniture and BBQ.
Your suite has a private keypad entrance and covered parking in the carport. An outlet for plug-in eVehicle is in the carport. There is ample storage for bikes, kayaks and other toys. You may wish to be an adventurer and take in the great outdoors and come home to have a BBQ and watch the sunset or simply enjoy some quiet time on our 0.7 acre property. Enjoy an outdoor heated shower at the beach or hot tub after a dip in the ocean. Fill your evening with conversations under the stars or cozied up on your patio. We have high speed internet (Telus fibre optics), cable and Netflix.

The bright ocean view bedroom has sliding doors onto your patio. Comfortable queen size bed, extra bedding, closet, drawers and small desk. **Please note; bathroom is an ensuite and only accessible through the bedroom.**

The ensuite bathroom has a full size tub and shower and is equipped with toiletries, towels and hair dryer.

The kitchen is equipped with full size stove and fridge, pots, serving ware, oil, spices, tea, French press for coffee, Sodastream, blender and many more necessities. Enjoy a meal or board game in the cozy dining nook.

Chill on the comfortable sofa and watch the wonderful show that nature will put on for you. The cast includes seagulls, seals, eagles, whales, deer and other surprises:-)

WILDLIFE AWARENESS
For everyone's safety, do not feed, approach or interfere with the wildlife! We're fortunate to be connected to nature and wildlife in the sky, sea and land. Bald eagles, herons, oyster catchers, sea lions, seals, deer, squirrels, black bears and a plethora of other wildlife frequent the shore and property.

IMPORTANT FOR HOT TUB!
Hours: 8:00am-10:00pm. The hot tub is relaxing and we hope you have time to enjoy it during your stay. We keep our hot tub on the upper recommended temperature range to be used more like a spa treatment. It can be used multiple times in a day but limit your time to 15-20 minutes to avoid overheating. There are more flip flops in the basket outside the bedroom sliding doors, and robes in the closet. Outdoor towels are under the bathroom sink. Use plastic cups if you take a beverage and do not eat in the hot tub. DO NOT USE IN WINDY WEATHER DUE TO DEBRIS FROM THE TREES FALLING DOWN. ALWAYS HAVE CHILDREN SUPERVISED BY AN ADULT.

Rinse your body before stepping into the spa to remove all oils, creams, fragrances, and dirt to help keep the water clean and balanced.
Undo the 4 Lid Clips and Lift the Lid AWAY From the Planters
Once open, the lid will be quite vertical. That’s ok.

**Leave the Temperature Setting Alone
A hot tub is meant to be hot and enjoyed for a short period of time. For the brave, a quick dip in the ocean followed by a hot tub soak is super fun! Please put the bromine dispenser (little floaty thingy) back to the center when finished.

**Limit Your Time in the Hot Tub
The high water temperature can cause serious issues. Generally, it is recommended to spend 15-20 minutes in a hot tub at a time. You can use it multiple times in a day but if you soak in the hot water longer than 15 minutes, you run the risk of becoming overheated. This could lead to dizziness, fainting and other medical problems. A rinse of your body and bathing suit is recommended when done.

**Who Should NOT Use A Hot Tub
Children under 5 are cautioned against using a hot tub. Pregnant women should also refrain from using spas since raising the internal body temperature could cause birth defects. Seniors may need to avoid hot tubs if there are any health concerns.

We encourage you to make ferry reservations on BC Ferries in the busy months from May through September. This is a non-smoking or vaping suite and property. No pets. Please read hot tub instructions.

The ocean view room is in our quirky, renovated 1930’s character home and has a lower than average (6 foot +) ceiling. As shown in the photos, it has an open area with a bed, love seats, chaise reading chair, big screen tv, and several windows with garden, patio and ocean views. The included private bathroom has a deep soaker tub.
There is a fridge, a microwave, a kettle and a toaster in the room, with complimentary coffee and tea, milk and sugar.

There is direct access (across the street) to Powell River’s Sea Walk, a level foot and bicycle path following the shoreline to the Westview Ferry Terminal and downtown Marine Avenue. There is an abundance of wildlife in this area. It is often possible to see and hear eagles, herons, various seabirds, seals, and sea lions. On occasion, dolphins, porpoises, orcas and humpbacks will be passing by. The ferries to both Texada and Vancouver Island come and go. Tugboats pull their barges and move their timber, and pleasure craft pass by en route to Desolation Sound. There are a number of deer in the neighbourhood who graze freely on the grasses and other vegetation.

Located in a quiet area but close to main roads enjoy this 2nd floor suite with sea views. Close enough to the water to go for a stroll, paddle board or kayak and not too far a drive to local restaurants and shopping. Lots of mountain bike and walking trails not too far away and a 23 minute drive south of town to the Saltery Bay Ferry or 5 minute drive to the Comox Ferry.

The space
The suite has a great balcony with bar seating to watch the amazing sunsets and water views or comfortable chairs to relax.

There is a one bedroom queen bed and a double pull out couch in the living room. The one bathroom is in the bedroom so it is not very private should there be extra guests on the pull out couch. Thus the suite is more suitable for a family with children or a close friend - not two couples.

The kitchenette is part of the main living area and has a medium sized fridge, microwave, electric element for a single pot or pan, air fryer/toaster oven, a drip coffee machine as well as a Keurig Coffee maker for pods with a milk frother or you have the ability to use your own coffee (included is a mix of pods and coffee for drip coffee machine included). Oil, selection of teas and salt and pepper condiments are also in the suite.

There is a small Weber grill available to use downstairs in the backyard where you can enjoy more seating to dine and lounge under a lit canopy and on cooler evenings enjoy the fire table.

There is an excellent grocery store, deli and coffee store a short walk away that you can find everything you need and within a 10 minute walk you will be at Grief Point beach access where you can walk along the shore until you get to Sea Walk.

There is a long driveway on the side of my home allocated for guests that can fit a trailer, boat and truck - all at the same time!

The suite is located at the back of the main house with access via the stairs to the sliding doors off the deck. The code will be sent to you the day before your arrival.

The bathroom is located in a hall that is part of the bedroom.

There is a large walk in closet in the bedroom for all your gear.

Hosts are ethical vegans. We would prefer that no animal products be brought into the space. With that said this is on the honour system and we have no intention of taking inventory. We will however provide you with delicious plant based baked goods 🙂 (Gluten free available upon request)

Who would best enjoy this space.
1-4 people. Non smokers. Any age. Less than 6 feet tall. Unless you don’t might ducking doorways. You love nature and animals. You like activity and the sounds of a suburban neighbourhood. You want your privacy but you don’t mind hearing the noises associated with those living in the spaces around you. You’re easy going, happy to accept and be accepted. Our home isn’t a party spot but we are active. We are busy upstairs and in the garden. We generally rise early to get a start on our day. We have two dogs who are controlled and spend the majority of their day lazing around but they do have a few busy periods where they’re running around and interacting with us and their world. We don’t mind noise. We want our guests to enjoy the space. Laugh, talk, play music, watch TV, run water, enjoy the garden, cook, goof off, relax…we are very laid back. "Serendipity Inn" is a 1915 heritage style home moved and currently being reconstructed in a vintage style in a beautiful country setting just minutes from hospital/malls/beaches. You will experience early and mid 1900's living at its best, with modern conveniences. Importantly, you will be staying in an unfinished home (rough and rustic with open walls and unfinished floors - priced accordingly) and your stay will help fund further restoration. The space
We have just installed a claw foot tub in the master bedroom - quite rustic but come have a soak!

We are working on restoring a juke box and a pop machine and the kitchen is set up to become a soda fountain :)

On the top floor we are working on a play area and starting to restore a pool table, a shuffle board, and have a slot hockey game and some other old fashioned games to play. We hope to be working on a model railroad over the summer.
