Jumping off the dock was so much fun and they have beautiful and safe stairs for getting in and out. 2 paddle boards! 4 kayaks! So much to explore! The cleaning fee is for the beds, bathrooms & floors. Please leave the kitchen and BBQ as clean as you found it, put away clean dishes and empty the fridge.

Rogers Cell service is reliable, wifi is reliable guests with carriers other than Rogers, fido should check their phones for wifi calling options.

The home is on a septic system so there are sanitary disposals available in the main bathrooms as there can be no products in the toilets except the toilet paper provided. and no bubble soap in the tub.

Out of respect for the neighbors and the low number of vacation rentals in the neighborhood this vacation rental is just for the family or couple (s) renting it, no extra overnight guests and no entertaining at the property, I'll consider a couple visitors during the day but advanced notice and approval would be required.

Children who could be considered responsible young adults are welcome, due to the nature of the property the steep sidewalk, indoor stairs and glass railings the property is not suitable for toddlers.

The property is dog friendly but please no dogs in the loft, in the jetted tub or running or playing fetch in the house, the pet fee is forwarded to the spca.

I'm the owner & I live in the basement suite but I try to give you all the privacy possible by not using the wharf while you are (just an occasional evening swim).

If you are booking for Summer 2024 I may have my boat moored at the wharf out of the way, still safe moorage room for another boat.

The fireplace in the Great Room is spectacular but currently just for show and has an electric insert.

This vacation rental is suitable for families or quiet couples. No loud parties and quiet time by 11pm.

Due to our central location some traffic noise is to be expected, however minimized by our high-efficiency sound insulating windows.

Our Sproat Lake home is nestled on almost an acre of semi-wooded lakefront. The living room and front yard have spectacular views of Mount Klitsa and the lake . Cozy wood burning fireplace inside, fire pit at the lake and a small portable gas fire pit for when the fire ban is on.

There is over 120 feet of waterfront, a concrete lake front patio, and dock for your boat. Lots of outdoor furniture at the beach and on the lawn, an 8FT row boat, beach noodles and toys. PowerBoats /Tubes can also be rented from the the Fish and Duck pub just a few minutes away . Tennis courts/playground and municipal/Provincial parks are within 10 minute drive.

It was early August when we stayed, so during the day it was super hot (in the 30s), but at night, it cooled off beautifully. There is a fan over the one queen size bed and a stand up fan for the pull out couch bed. Access to the lake was steep but we managed with hiking shoes and walking poles (I am 60 and my friend is 74). The lake is gorgeous and there is an option to use paddle boards and kayaks. It's definitely a lovely stay here but because we are heat intolerant postmenopausal ladies, we would look for an air conditioned cabin next time. "

The spacious and comfortabel studio is located at the beautiful Sproat lake on Vancouver Island.
The studio is built on top of a garage on a steep lakefront property. It offers space ideally for a couple or a family with 2 kids. In the bedroom you can find a Queenbed and a bunkbed. A pullout couch in the living room offers space for two more people to sleep.

In the wintertime you can enjoy a bondfire close to the lake and summertime is the time to savour the dock on the lake.
Our entire property is nonsmoking and there are no parties allowed.

Check-in/Check-out Times

Check-in not before 3pm unless other arrangements have been made and approved with the Host. Check-out is no later than 12 noon unless other arrangements have been made and approved with the Host. It is important to respect these times to avoid any inconvenience.

Parking, and Common area

Please use the designated parking assigned to the unit you have rented, and any overflow parking must be in visitors area and not impede other guests. Common area is shared and for the safest possible way of presentation to all guests please respect it and other guests.

Guests

Only the individuals listed on the reservation are allowed to stay at the Airbnb property. Hosts may charge an additional fee for additional guests.

Pets

We currently have one pet friendly cabin, arrangements need to be made prior to booking to allow for pets. If you are staying in our pet friendly cabin your pet needs to always be on a leash while on the property. Please clean up after your pets. If you are going to be gone for the day your animal must be accompanied with you, we ask that you do not leave them behind.

Kitchen

We have tried to provide everything you may need. There are some basic day to day condiments and the local convenience store, Beaver Creek Market, is located just down the road about 3 minutes away. Please do not remove any kitchen items from the cabin.

Furnishings and appliances

Please only use appliances as they are intended to be used, and please do not move or re-arrange the layout of the furnishings.

No smoking

There will be a strict no-smoking policy, on the property. This includes cigarettes, vaping and marijuana. and guests are expected to abide by this rule. If you are found to be breaking this rule you will forfeit your entire damage deposit.

All Airbnb guests are expected to keep the space clean and tidy during their stay. This includes cleaning up after themselves, disposing of trash properly, and leaving the space in the same condition as when they arrived. Please do not leave food items in fridge.

Water

Beaver Creek water improvement is city supplied water with its own pumphouse and filtration system which makes the water safe for drinking.

Bedrooms & Bathrooms

There are extra pillows and blankets above the fridge for the hide abed, which has all sheets currently on the pull-out mattress. Mirrors have lights, and also defogging heater, please do not leave on when not in use.

Sewage waste management system (SEPTIC)

We are on a septic system which is designed for standard home waste and things such as eg. Oils, baby wipes, condoms and feminine hygiene products can cause severe damage to the system. PLEASE do not flush anything down the toilets other than toilet paper.

Lights, and Heat pumps

Please turn off all lights, gas, when not in use, and do not adjust the heat pump units more than 1 to 2 degrees at a time as they are very efficient and the smallest adjustment will be notice within 20 -30 mins, and please reframe from leaving doors windows open.

Noise

It is important to be respectful of neighbors and keep noise levels to a minimum, especially during nighttime hours.

Damages

Guests are responsible for any damages they cause to the property during their stay and may be charged for repairs or replacements.

Illegal activities

Airbnb guests are not allowed to engage in any illegal activities on the property, also no recording of any promotional video or content without consent from the Host.

Laundry

Laundry is in a separate building and with limited access, all arrangements for laundry must be made with host. Please note there will be a fee associated with the use of the laundry house.

We have always maintained a high level of cleanliness, including extra attention to disinfecting all touch points throughout the suite. Also, all linens, including throw blankets, decorative pillows, and bath mats, are washed in hot water. Due to increased precautions and cleaning protocols, check out is 10 am to allow for extra cleaning time.

Unfortunately we do not accept bookings anyone under the age of 30.

We kindly ask guests to only park out back of the house. Guests are welcome to enjoy the private fenced-in area of our yard.

The main guest booking the reservation is responsible for keeping the home clean and taking care of the furniture & belongings inside. Our expectation is that the home is left in a respectful manner. It is also their responsibility to ensure all guests are familiar with the house rules.

Please be mindful of our neighbors during your stay. Our property's quiet hours are in place to ensure that everyone can enjoy a peaceful night's sleep. We care a lot about maintaining good relationships with our community, so we appreciate you following our "house rules" during your stay.

Welcome to our cozy West Coast Garden Suite! Our place has plenty of light, is simple, clean, and is made to feel like a home away from home. Located in a great neighbourhood in Port Alberni, you will be close to trails, and spectacular views of the surrounding mountains. And only a short walk away from the brewery voted "Best Brewery on Vancouver Island" for 2018! The space is newly renovated with a cottage-meets-modern feel. While we call it cozy, there is one header in the space that might be a bit low for those over 6 feet tall.

There is a long private driveway that can accommodate boat parking if necessary.

The bed in the bedroom is a queen bed and there is a double-sized futon in the living room for guests use as well.

Need a mid island get-a-away? An hour and ten minutes to Ucluelet and Tofino or stay local and check out all that Port Alberni has to offer! Studio-ish one bedroom suite with private entrance with a covered exterior sitting area. Don't feel like driving anywhere? Hang out at the pool for the day. Suite comes with bar fridge and a few small appliances. We also supply coffee and tea! A safe place for women and students travelling solo as I am always reachable by phone and usually on site.

The space
Clean and comfy 1 bedroom(ish) suite with a high end king bed. Private patio entrance into the suite. The sitting area has a plush couch with cable tv. Kitchenette area has a bar island and sink with filtered water on tap and 2 bar stools. There is no stove or oven but there is a microwave, coffee pot, kettle, rice maker, electric skillet, toaster oven, plates, cups and utensils. If your not needing to cook much this place should suffice. There is a dining table on the covered deck to enjoy your coffee on those beautiful island mornings, or an evening tea or glass of wine. Guests are welcome to use the pool ( summer use only) and back yard area. It is a little uneven due to recent yard work but still open for the guests to use if they wish.

The space
Welcome to our home! We are happy to offer a private suite hosting visitors to our beautiful area, Sproat Lake, Port Alberni and the wild West Coast of Vancouver Island.

Sawing Logs Suite is a hotel style BNB with queen bed, kitchenette and eating bar with quartz countertops and ensuite bathroom with custom walk-in shower. Outside you will find a small private outdoor space with BBQ and outdoor seating.

The kitchenette is set up for self service meal prep (if desired) and includes mini fridge/freezer, microwave and toaster oven. A private BBQ is outside your door, also equipped with a single propane stove burner. Pot, pan and cooking utensils are provided, as well as plates, cups, silverware and most other kitchen necessities. If there is something specific you are wondering about or need, please don't hesitate to ask!

100% cotton linens provided.

Please note, there are 2 friendly dogs on the property, Hobie & Pinto, that are usually contained inside our home, but please be advised you may encounter them during your stay. Let us know if you have any concerns and we will make extra effort to avoid doggy encounters for you. Thanks!

Guests have a designated parking space just outside Private Entry to the suite. A small private outdoor area is also designated for guests, which includes outdoor seating and a propane BBQ.

Our home was built in 2023 and therefore the grounds/landscaping are still a work in progress. There are some log piles and a sawmill on the property that are used occasionally. No milling will take place when guests are present.

Please be aware there are 2 friendly dogs on the property who may like to meet you when you are outdoors. Please let us know if you are averse to dogs so we ensure to keep them inside or leashed during your stay.

We also allow a maximum of one dog in your reservation with a pet fee. Please bring everything you need for your dog as we do not provide dog dishes, beds or other supplies. However, if you do forget something, please free free to ask and we will provide items to borrow whenever possible. House rules for doggy visitors are that they are not allowed to be alone in the suite unless they are crated, and not allowed on the bed.

IMPORTANT: We have 2 young children. Please drive slowly and in the neighborhood. While we do our absolute best to keep household noise to a minimum, there may be some noise transfer from the main house to the suite. Thanks for understanding!

As our guests you’ll stay in our 27ft trailer right in our yard ,across the street from Sproat Lake. You’ll arrive as strangers but leave as friends! You can use the public access for a swim, walk to a park with tennis courts, and even a bike park!

You’ll meet Sherpa our sweet 6 year old rescue extrovert dog who thinks you’re there for her to socialize with her- especially your kids! No worries if you aren’t comfortable with dogs, she’s on a long zip line and isn’t running free.

The front door opens into a multipurpose area that serves as an entryway, kitchen, dining area, living room and office. The kitchen is fully equipped and stocked to be your culinary home away from home. It features brand new full size appliances, a microwave, toaster, blender, and all of the essentials for your morning coffee.

The living room includes a “cozey” couch and a 55” smart TV with access to Netflix and Amazon Prime Video. For business travellers, there is a wall mounted desk that serves as a compact, minimalist office space.

Two bedrooms are located towards the back of the suite. The primary bedroom has a king size bed and the second bedroom has two twin beds. Both bedrooms have medium-firm mattresses, bedside reading lights, luggage racks and closets.

The house has a main residence above the suite; we live in the main residence. The orientation of the house on the hill provides good privacy between the two spaces. Guests access the suite through a private exterior entrance and have exclusive use of an an approx 300 square foot cement patio.

Guests must park in the parking area at the top of the driveway. The driveway may appear steep, but there is a level parking area at the top. Please let us know in advance if you plan on bringing more than one vehicle.

Other things to note
The ceiling between the main residence and suite is well insulated, however there is still sound transfer between the two spaces. We do our best to minimize loud noises when we have guests, but most of the noise transfer is from our toddler. We are generally quiet from approx 9 pm - 7 am.

We want to assure you that we are putting extra care and attention into our cleaning routines, making our home the safest for your stay. We have always maintained a high level of cleanliness, including extra attention to disinfecting all touch points throughout the suite. Also, all linens, including throw blankets, decorative pillows, and bath mats, are washed in hot water. Due to increased precautions and cleaning protocols, check out is 10 am to allow for extra cleaning time.

Unfortunately we do not accept bookings anyone under the age of 30.

The main guest booking the reservation is responsible for keeping the home clean and taking care of the furniture & belongings inside. Our expectation is that the home is left in a respectful manner. It is also their responsibility to ensure all guests are familiar with the house rules.

Owner lives in private residence (at the upper level back of the building) and invites CHAR's GUESTHOUSE guests (at the ground level back of the building) to make themselves at home and enjoy the arts & outdoor sports cultural scene.

The guest will be given their own personal keypad code to unlock the doors. Guests may arrange to drop off their bags early in the common areas.

Grab a glass of wine on the balcony off the Primary Bedroom. Enjoy the Dock Access, Swimming area and Fire Pit area or relax on your own private deck with BBQ and fire table which spans the width of the unit.

Come visit sunny Sproat Lake and recreational opportunities. Bring your own watercraft for use at the private slip.

The space
Our townhome is located in the prestigious Maples gated community. It has a private entrance with space for parking. There are 2 bathrooms and 3 bedrooms upstairs: a queen size, a room with a twin over double bunk bed, and the primary bedroom with a king bed and tv. The primary bedroom has an ensuite and a balcony with seating.
Downstairs you will find a dining room, well appointed kitchen with bar, living room with an additional large tv, games and activities and walkout patio with views of Sproat Lake. There is also a powder room and laundry/linen closet on this level.
Outside on the private deck is another table, a lounging area, a fire table and a BBQ. You will find a deck box with items for water play.
On the property is a shared fire pit, the swimming area, and a shared dock with a slip dedicated to each unit.
This space is great for families and couples alike. Fish, swim and boat to your hearts content, or relax on the dock with a book before an evening campfire.
Sproat Lake has two lakefront restaurants, a fuel dock, kayak/paddle board rentals, liquor store, and a small convenience store. Our unit is close to the Sproat Lake Provincial Park which boasts a beautiful beach and boat launch.
We are conveniently located 15 minutes from Port Alberni with access to restaurants, brew pubs, recreation, grocery, movies, golfing and more. Tofino and Ucluelet are a 90 minute drive and 90 minutes to the Nanaimo Departure Bay ferry terminal, the Duke Point ferry terminal, or even the Nanaimo airport. Mount Washington and the Comox Valley are not much more than 90 minutes either.

Guests have full access to the 1400sq ft townhouse, laundry, private patio, and balcony. There is shared access to the dock, swimming area, fire pit and lawns.
