We have space to park up to 3 vehicles (2 in the driveway and 1 right in front of the home)

THE SPACE:
This home is located off the main road of Montesano in Westport.

WORK FROM HOME:

We have a dedicated work space for you with a desk and chair, If you work from home or just want to get away and work near the beach.

LIVING ROOM:

The living room is spacious with its vaulted ceilings. Cozy up around the 65" Samsung TV and sound bar for those family movie nights. We have two sofas (one is a queen size sofa sleeper) and two lounging chairs .

We also have an arcade for that would take you back in time with games from Atari, NES, SNES, SEGA, Dreamcast, Gamecube & more. 1000's of games to choose from that could keep you entertained for days.

For rainy days at the beach we have the house fully equipped with various board games. We also have some toys for the little ones, just in case you forgot to pack some.

The other bathroom in the back is spacious and comes with a full bathtub to soak. We do provide hair dryers and Shampoo/Conditioner/Body Wash.

BACK YARD:

The backyard is huge! It's fully fenced and great for entertainment if you wish to hang out outside. We have Corn Hole, Bottle Bash, Ladder Golf for some competitive fun.

We have a Solo Stove fire pit that is surrounded by outdoor chairs. A great spot to tell scary stories, make s'mores or just relax by the fire with a glass of wine.

On rainy days we do have a large gazebo that covers additional outdoor seating that we have.

We have a large shed in the back yard with tons of things you can use at the house or at the beach. We just ask you to put everything back when you're done.

GUEST ACCESS:
You will have access to the entire home and yard all to yourself.

LOCATION:
We conveniently located in the middle of town in a safe neighborhood with a mix of residents and vacation homes and minutes away from everything Westport has to offer.

The first thing to greet guests entering the house is the beautiful living room. Naturally lit by a westward facing picture window, the room features multiple large reclining chairs and a grand sofa, centered around a cozy brick fireplace and flat screen TV. It’s the perfect place to get comfortable after a long day at the beach or to simply relax and enjoy some quality time with friends and family.

The dark wood floor and beachy décor add to the chill beach vacation ambience the home was clearly built for.

Behind the living room, you'll find the open concept dining room and kitchen, and a large sliding glass door leading out to the back porch. The kitchen itself is well equipped for preparing any meal, has a breakfast bar for keeping chefs company (or pre-meal snacking), and the large dining room table is perfect for an intimate family dinner.

If you like to dine in the warm summer sea breezes,there's a dining table and chairs on the back deck.

For any workaholics unable to fully tear themselves away, Surf Street Retreat also features a home office space where you can check in on work affairs undistracted. Small children along for the trip will delight in the small sleeping nook that's just their size.

The bedrooms are both spacious and comfortable. The master features a king bed facing its own private TV, as well as a ceiling fan in case the nights out in Westport get a little too warm. The second bedroom is appointed with two plush twins for any kids or friends coming along, and both have more of the same lovely art that makes the home a shining example of a Westport beach vacation.

The space
The sand backyard makes it an ideal spot to hangout after a day on the beach or fishing. Great fire pit circle in backyard with seating. Ample parking. Charcoal BBQ for use (bring or buy in town a supply of charcoal) Sleeping for 4-6 (1st bedroom-queen, 2nd bedroom- full, and 1 twin trundle), but basic rate is for 4. $10/each for additional guests. RV parking available if requested. This is a well loved family cabin and not just a vacation rental. The cabin has been in our family for over 20 years and is a constant work in progress, but we love to share our space when we aren't at the coast. It is not a hotel and doesn't live as a hotel, but more like staying at a friends home. As such, we allow dogs so please don't be alarmed if we missed a stray dog hair or two. Please be aware if you are allergic.

Entire home is free to use. This is our family cabin which has been loved by us for over 20 years. When we aren't at the coast, we love sharing our space. As such, our place is very dog and kid friendly. We have plenty of pots and pans and spices for cooking. From time to time items may be left in the refrigerator or in cabinets; we don't mind sharing. Some personal items may be left in closets or in storage bins. Shampoo and conditioner is provided for your use. Lots of books, for kids and adults, movies and toys. Dogs are welcome. Wifi and Roku with Netflix and Amazon Prime. No phone. No cable.

Other things to note
Well loved pet-friendly family cabin approximately 800 Sq ft. Our space has been in the family for over 20 years and has some imperfections that we love.
This is not a hotel nor does it live like a hotel, but more like a friends place. We love having dogs and kids stay so please be aware if allergic or looking for more of a hotel environment. There are two small bedrooms, one with queen size bed and the other a full with a twin pull out trundle. Clean linens are provided. The front yard has sandspurs that are quite intrusive in the summertime; please wear shoes outside and leave your shoes on the front deck when re-entering the house. We are at the beach so expect lots of sand. Vintage Airstream next to home is not part of rental. We do not have laundry facilities at this time (stay tuned), but there is a decent facility in town- Westport Laundry at 161 W Pacific Ave. Also, I'm still waiting for a dishwasher so be prepared to hand wash any dirties. BBQ is available, but you will need to bring/buy your own charcoal.

There is one living room, with a fireplace (please supply your own wood, for sale around town, look for signs). The upstairs loft includes two twin beds with two additional roll-out twin trundles underneath. There is a BBQ and hot tub on the back deck with a cozy sitting area.

Other things to note
While this property has great features, it is not a luxury resort. This home was built in the 1940s. It has quarks and imperfections. You may hear road noise from the two lane road out front, and you’ll see other homes and neighbors. There are chickens and roosters on both sides of the cottage (offering a true cottage experience), the rooster will wake you up in the very early morning. If you are expecting all the finest details, please book a room at the Westin, otherwise you'll love your stay here!

This original Westport cottage is within walking distance to the beach, Lighthouse state park, the Surf Shack, local restaurants and bars! Enjoy surfing, clam digging, fishing or sunset walks on the beach. This cottage is located in the center of town. Less than 1 mile to the beach!

The kitchen and bathroom are stocked with essentials. Bedrooms 1 has a queen, bedroom 2 has a full, and bedroom 3 has a bunk bed with a full on the bottom and a twin on top. New mattresses and bedding for all beds. All the rooms have dressers and night stands.
A laundry room with a washer and dryer and are located in the back of the house. There’s a fire pit in the back yard and space to park an RV along side the garage. ( currently there is no RV power or dump) House has a 72” smart tv with a Netflix subscription. You’ll also get high speed internet.

The Starbird Cottage is located in the heart of Westport on Ocean Avenue, minutes to the Marina. You'll have access to everything this wonderful coastal town has to offer. WALK to coffee, pizza, beer and the library (great for kids on a rainy day). Walk/bike/drive .9 miles to the beach access. If staying put is more your thing, cook at home in the fully stocked kitchen (plus BBQ). Need supplies? Walk one block to the Shop N’ Kart grocery store.

Expect some traffic/noise out front on Ocean Ave.

The space
This 4 bed (3 BR + Den), 2 full bath, pet friendly home includes all the amenities you need for a PNW beach getaway. Enjoy your coffee or cocktail, rain or shine, on the covered front porch. Relax inside in the spacious living room with electric fireplace, kitchen and dining room. This house offers 3 large bedrooms and a den with a pullout couch. Top it off with a full laundry room and 2 car garage. Not raining? Enjoy the fire pit, picnic table and PNW ocean breeze in the fully fenced backyard.

This home is comfortable and welcoming for all! Bring the whole family AND the dogs! There are plenty of places to walk your fur baby immediately surrounding the property. Mini bunk beds, toys and books will help keep the little ones entertained while you relax. Spend the evening playing cards, games or Poker (all provided for you!) at the 8 ft long rustic dining table.

**update 6/1/24 the lot immediately east of our property is no longer grass (like the aerial photos display). It is now a gravel lot. Sometimes cars park there from the tavern, but it has not caused any problems!

We are happy to host your pets at The Starbird Cottage. We do not charge a pet fee up front because we love to have our own pets with us at the beach and we want others to experience this as well without the added fees. Guests are responsible for their pets and any damage as a result of a pet will incur additional fees upon checkout. PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE treat our home with respect. Pick up after them in the yard. There is pet accident cleaner in the laundry room and there are “dog towels” available under the entry bench.
