There is a lot of road noise early in the morning since condo is located just off road. Can't imagine sleeping 6 here. There are two queen beds and two mini futons in upstairs bedroom that might serve for children, but not adults. Kitchen needs to be restocked with a few more items. Pretty sparse on cutlery and basic dishwear. As others have mentioned, there is no Internet in the area, so print off what you need to check in. Good wifi once you actually get in unit. Small deck had BBQ which we didn't use. It only had one canvas chair to sit in, which was in terrible shape, so no one wanted to take a chance. Two deck chairs would have been appreciated. There is a row of cabins in front of unit which seem to be long term rentals. Overall this unit is on the small side, but clean and looks at water (partially obscured by cabins in front) "

A few cob webs high on window walls, otherwise we thoroughly enjoyed it, and all the nearby trails we took advantage of."

That's untrue unless you count here tiny piece of land called "whale park" as a beach {which google does} The access to the beach was there stair you have to drive too across the bridge, if u look out from the rental room u an see it from there. as a Disabled person i was looking forward to be within walking distance of the beach and was kind of bummed out from the untruthfulness of that photo. When we went back to the website mind you the photo seemed to be removed. Other than that you have a sliding doors, so if you wanna listen to the beach waves you will have to put a wooden dowel in the slid path to keep the door from being able to slide all the way {if you worry about intruders} and also the tv is TINY AF and you cant really see it from the bed either. If you wanna cook on the poach keep in mind there's no tables so you will have to bring a table and you bbq grill or cooker of some sort. also be carful of the railing one of them is very wobbly!! other than thoes issues our time was very peaceful, and relaxing, neighbors were quiet the town is quiet, i do not recommend going to shops/ restaurants they are hella overpriced. and the restaurant right next door is not only expensive but has a gratuity included{had no idea} and will prompt for a tip still. Ice-cream shop is great tho!"

One chair for a room that can fit 4 was kind of odd. Wednesday night, a loud beeping would periodically come from the room next to mine. It woke me up a couple of times but no biggie. I woke up really under the weather on Thursday and wanted to spend the day in the room.The beeping started and went on from 9-11:30 am. I lodged a case and figured it would be taken care of. I didnt get notification that it had been fixed, and then the beeping started again around 5pm. At that point I texted the contact number again but didn’t feel confident that anything would be done at that point in the evening. I ended up booking another hotel room so I would be able to sleep soundly. Overall the room was fine but that beeping almost drove me mad."

- "Easily walkable to pub and restaurants. Short drive to Cape Perpetua Visitors Center for great hiking and tidepools. The room was very clean and homey. Not super quiet, 101 is right out the door and did get a little noisy when we had neighbors. We had a good stay." - "-The TV control needs new batteries. The Cable control worked great. -The bathroom could use some extra hooks on the back of the door to help hang clothes on. -The outside of the building could use some TLC. - "The shower was warm enough to thaw me out after I walked on the beach. The water pressure provided a nice scalp massage." - "Overall we were very happy with our room here. The room was clean and appointed as described. The whale park was right out front, but not disruptive. The highway wasn't a problem for noise, yet we got to look out over the inlet and the ocean. We could walk everywhere in town and there were multiple restaurants and coffee shops nearby. The parking was easy. We even had skylights, which was great during the thunderstorm. My chief complaint was the bed. I woke up multiple times each night and was extremely sore the first morning, although subsequent nights were a little bit better. It was also very loud. Every time we sat down or moved around it made a ton of noise, which we felt embarrassed about since the neighboring room could surely hear it. Linens and pillows and such were good though. We didn't bring a dog, but I liked that it was dog friendly. We met dogs staying in neighboring rooms."

The beach is perfect and an easy walk down to it from the room. My room had a defective space heater and there was some clunkiness in trying to communicate with the manager to resolve that, but it wasn't a big deal and I figured out a solution myself. The Space
Ocean Haven sits on a promontory overlooking with Wild Pacific Ocean. We have a unique and spectacular vista, unobstructed by trees or acres of distance between you and the sight of the ocean.

Each unit has a refrigerator, stove, microwave, toaster, and coffee maker and comes stocked with coffee, teas, and hot chocolate. We are eco-friendly, use safe and natural cleaning products and ask our guests to compost food and recycle.

In order to conserve precious water, we do not change towels and linens each day or clean rooms unless by special request.

There are books including travel, birding, and hiking guides in each room as well as books written by the various writers who have graced Ocean Haven over the years.

There are no televisions or telephones in the room. On purpose. There is wifi.

Ocean Haven is more of a quiet retreat and a place to relax and rejuvenate, and more of a settle-in kind of place than an in-and-out place. We tend to attract a generally mellow clientele. Ocean Haven is definitely not a party place. Enjoy your wine with your lover or friend or yourself, sure, but crazymaking is frowned upon.

Depending on the tides and the movements of the sand seasonally there can be a little jump from the rocks to the bottom. Most people have no difficulty with the trail to the beach, however, people who have physical challenges may prefer to drive up the street to one of the more easily accessible beaches. There are beaches to the north and south that are accessible without stairs, but we are on a cliffside, part of what makes it so glorious!

Other things to note
We are an old building and do not have exhaust fans in all the rooms, so please please please for the sake of those who come after you do not cook fish or heavily spiced food on your last night at Ocean Haven and try to keep the windows open (of course you want the windows open!) on the other days.

The space

We have a unique and spectacular vista, unobstructed by trees or acres of space between you and the sight of the ocean. From the recliners in the South View, all you can see is the Sea in front of you.

The South View is a large suite with 2 Queen beds and 2 daybeds, and recliners, all with ocean views.

There is a full-sized refrigerator, stove, microwave, toaster, pots, pans, cooking utensils, and coffee maker. It comes stocked with coffee, teas, and hot chocolate. Warning: there is no creamer in the room, we pick up too much plastic on the beach to add to it with plastic creamers. If you use cream, grab some on your way in, or ask us in a pinch and hope we have some at that moment (usually we do).

We are eco-friendly, use safe and natural cleaning products and ask our guests to compost food and recycle.

We have a harbor seal colony living on the rocks on the beach below us and there are eagles, ravens, hawks, raptors, pelicans, and all kinds of other wildlife sharing the space with us.

Ocean Haven is isolated with no other building on either side of us, so besides being on a promontory, having no neighbors leaves that much more land for habitat for vegetation and all the visiting creatures. The lot next door is a designated Silverspot butterfly habitat.

The beach is full of things to explore, including tide pools, colorful sea stars, rocks, evidence of a forest buried in the cliffside, and beyond.

Most of our guest spend hours down exploring the beach, if they can get out of bed or the recliner that day.

There is a large deck on the lower level that is surrounded on 2/3 with lush vegetation and by the bluff and the ocean on the other 1/3. We highly recommend hanging out down there both during the day and at night when the moon shimmers on the water, or hides and all you can see is stars.

Other things to note
We are an old building and do not have exhaust fans in all the rooms, so please please please for the sake of those who come after you do not cook fish or heavily spiced food on your last night at Ocean Haven and try to keep the windows open (of course you want the windows open!) on the other days if you cook heavily scented yummy foods.

If you are cooking anything with garlic, put a fan on it and point the fumes towards the owners unit.

There is generally no cell service along much of this stretch of coast. You can usually get phone service over wifi if you have that feature on your cell phone. Our cell carrier is ATT and we are able to make calls over wifi from the location. I believe Sprint and T-Mobile, is the same, not sure about smaller carriers. Many people have no idea they can make calls over wifi until they get here and we show them the feature in their settings under cellular.

This is a much better place to come and settle in for a minute.

The people who only come for a few days universally say they wished they had booked longer stays, if-they-had-only-known.

You'll know we aren't making that up when you get here, or if you read what our few new Airbnb friends have written so far.

Many of them have been back already.

Our regular guests, who have been coming for years book at least a week, many two or three weeks. Consider yourself warned.

If you are writing a book or have some kind of other project, be it coding or knitting, this is the perfect place to settle in and get some work done and totally enjoy every moment doing it.

Sorry to mention work for anybody who wants to unplug, but if you gotta be plugged in, do it in oceanfront splendor, while you take care of yourself.

The space
This is a wonderful bright cozy studio with a glimpse of the ocean from the picture windows in the front living space.

This is in one of three studio spaces within a large house, and its entrance is located at the top of a flight of stairs. This unit includes a small bedroom with a queen bed, two nightstands, and a dresser. (Please do watch your head in the bedroom - it has a slanted ceiling.)

In the main living space, there are two twin daybeds.

Please Note: There is nightly live music in the restaurant until closing that may be heard in this room.

We are not your typical Airbnb accommodations. We are similar to an Inn but much more unique with a small community atmosphere and wonderful staff on site.

Pets are not allowed in this studio.

This quaint unit is a studio with one queen bed, a table, *a small kitchen*, and *a small bathroom* with a shower. The unit is well-kept & equipped, however it is simple and wind-swept. Please keep in mind that if you are looking for a luxurious getaway, this may not be the right choice for your stay.

This unit is located right next door to a nice RV Park. The park is visible from the sliding glass door/deck. While this does not seem to be a problem for most guests, we understand that it might be for others. Please be aware of this before booking.

There is a ladder to access the beach *see photos* that we ask guests to use at their own risk and discretion. The ladder is not perfect, but is a permanent solution, as the levels of the sand/tides change depending on the time of day or season. Unfortunately, a longer ladder or steps are not feasible as they have been ripped away by the tide in the past.

The wonderful one bedroom cottage, named Sunset, is located on the lower level of the first building (building #1) that you see when entering the Oregon House estate. This spacious cottage has a king bed in the bedroom with a tiled walk in shower in the ensuite bathroom.
