The bedroom has a very comfortable memory foam queen-sized bed with quality linens, a smart TV, lots of natural light and well-loved plants. It connects to a full bathroom with a shower and basic toiletries. The second bedroom has a very comfortable twin memory foam bed with a kitchenette (not full kitchen) and a dining area. Mini-fridge, microwave, counter-top oven/toaster, electric kettle, and a Keurig for making coffee are all included, along with dishes, glasses, basic food prep-ware, coffee and tea supplies. The wifi is strong for all your streaming and online needs. Arcata Forest Retreat also boasts its own private, small patio at the entrance with a soothing fountain, seating, and a propane fire pit. This suite does share some walls, so we require and honor "quiet hours" from 9pm-9am.

The bathroom is very roomy and well lit. It is located in main part of the apartment and has a large walk-in shower with porcelain tiles and a marble double vanity. Plush towels, shampoo/conditioner, hair dryer and mini soaps are provided for guests.

The kitchen is modern and has lots of counter space and an island for in-kitchen breakfast or meals on comfortable stools. All the appliances are new: 5 burner gas stove with a regular and convection oven, microwave, dishwasher, refrigerator and drawers are fully stocked with all utensils needed for easy cooking or hosting. Small pantry has some start items like: flour, sugar, olive oil, coffee, tea and various cooking spices.

The living room is furnished with warm colors, lots of natural light, artwork and a comfortable sectional couch. A washer and dryer is located in a closet right off the living room area.

Reserved parking spot for 1 vehicle, all other vehicles will have to park on the main roads or in the city parking lot located across the street.

This sparkling clean, Arcata Bay/Coastal themed apartment is within a block of the Arcata Plaza, Farmers Market, shopping, overlooking Salt restaurant patio and Septentrio winery barrel room. We have a private parking lot, 1 gig/second WiFi, TV w/cable, dishwasher, California king bed, washer/dryer inside the apt, and pretty town views. Fun location close to everything, very spacious, relaxing, and convenient. This apartment is very spacious feeling with a large living room with great town views. There is a full bathroom with a shower over tub and an LG combination washer/dryer. There is a full size gas range, a full size stainless refrigerator, dishwasher, dining table and chairs, a full size 55 inch TV with premium cable, and fast Wi Fi. There is a large private parking lot with motion lighting just for our building. Although the apartment is in a bustling, lively section of town within less than a block of many great restaurants, shops, etc, the bedroom is on the quiet side of the building and has a cal-king bed, and a sitting area to read/relax. Guests have the entire apartment with its own private gate and stairway, a parking lot, and yard. The gates have electronic keypads so the apt and yard are very secure feeling. We respect guests privacy but are always available quickly for guest needs as our home is about 10 blocks away. We are very responsive hosts and always happy to provide recommendations for places to go, restaurants, beaches etc. This is a great location within a block of the town center/Arcata Plaza and less than a block from many great restaurants, shops. Within a block are 7 restaurants, the Arcata Plaza, the Arcata Co-Op grocery store, and countless shops. Once you have parked your car in the private parking lot with motion lighting that is just for our building, you won't need to drive again, everything is within a block or two from this location. We have tankless water heaters for unlimited hot water, rain shower heads, and very strong water pressure so much so many guests comment on how nice the showers are.

Murphy’s Market is right up the street where we were able to get the groceries we needed. Neighborhood is just okay; but we felt very safe in this space. Price is great with a very attentive Erik, the property manager. All in all, a great experience and would highly recommend."

Downtown Arcata Farmers Market Apartment This bright and sunny apartment is a block from the Arcata Plaza, Farmers Market, shopping (across street from Arcata Co-op), and next door to Salt Restaurant and North Story Wines. It has a private parking lot, fast 1 gig/second WiFi, TV w/cable, washer/dryer in unit, lots of sun and pretty town views. Fun location close to everything, very comfortable and convenient, and secure behind key coded gates. This sunny apartment has lots of big windows looking out over town and the co-op which is the natural grocery store less than a block away. The apartment is on the second level and behind a keyed gate so is very secure feeling. The bedroom has a big skylight so is filled with light during the day and its possible to see the stars at night. There is a big leather couch, a table and two chairs, lots of throws/blankets, this apartment just has a great vibe. Guests have access to the whole apartment which includes a washer/dryer inside, yard, and private parking lot. We respect guests privacy but are always available to help quickly with guest needs as our home is only about 10 blocks away. We are very responsive hosts. This apartment is in a beautiful section of town just a block from the Arcata Plaza next door to Salt restaurant, in a very pretty and lively section of town. North Story Winery/Wrangletown Cidery are also next door and sometimes host live music and events. While being right in the middle of everything, the apartment is on the second level and is very secure feeling as it is behind coded/locked gates. The co-op natural food grocery store is less than a block away as are a local pie restaurant, “Bittersweet” , the popular "Campground" restaurant across the street, and many other great restaurants nearby. We have a private parking lot for our guests and everything is within a block or two from the apt. Cal Poly Humboldt is about a 10 minute walk. We have tankless water heaters for unlimited hot water, rain shower heads, and very strong water pressure so much so many guests comment on how nice the showers are. The apartment has a queen bed and a large leather couch that is not a sleeper. We have a travel crib and high chair for those with young children, please message us if needed and we will leave in apt for you.

- "Julia's guest house, which is attached to the owner's actual home, was a very pleasant place to stay especially for someone traveling alone. It was very comfortable and felt very safe. The neighborhood is quiet and residential, off the beaten path but close to everything. Bed was comfortable, shower and hot water were good, kitchenette was cute and did the trick (be sure to note, coffee maker is French press and no microwave, for those who cook almost exclusively with those two appliances.) Most importantly, Host was very attentive and responsive. Nice place!"

(Please note that because this is a semi-detached studio with the homeowner and a long-term tenant on the grounds, the courtyard is not entirely private.) Our Downtown Arcata Studio Apt is right next door to our Farmer's Market Apt, so families that need more space can book both apts as they share the same gate and landing. The winery next door, NorthStory Winery, frequently has live music and events on weekends, especially holiday weekends, Cal Poly graduation, etc, so we recommend contacting them to see what will be happening prior to booking if this is a concern. Everything is within a block or two away, there is a private parking lot with motion lighting We are always available to help by phone or text, but also respect our guest's privacy. Really lively section of town, with a Cidery/Winery and a popular seafood restaurant next door. The Arcata Plaza and Farmer's Market (on Saturday mornings) are a block away, lots of shopping, restaurants, and the Arcata Co-op within a block. Once you have parked your car in our private parking everything is within a block or two from the Apt, so you can walk or bike everywhere. We have tankless water heaters for unlimited hot water, rain shower heads, and very strong water pressure so much so many guests comment on how nice the showers are. This apartment overlooks Salt restaurant patio and Wrangletown Cidery/North Story Winery. On busy weekends, graduation, new years, etc it is likely there will be live music and events that could be noisy, we recommend checking with the the winery/cidery and restaurant if this is a concern for you.

Surrounded by pastures, it's a short walk to the Mad River for swims and walks. The Mad River Brewery is less than a mile up the road. Excellent mountain biking is 1 mile away. In a 15 minute drive you can find the hip town of Arcata, surrounded by redwoods and hiking as well as a majestic coastline. Sundays 10 am to noon we host a family friendly ecstatic dance in the studio adjacent to the apartment. Expect music at that time. Come join us! Public Yoga classes are Tuesday & Saturday am.

The space
We've been living on this property since 1999 and have raised our children here amongst other community members who also live on this property. We began building our custom home in 2008, moved into the home in 2014. Art takes time! We live as a multigenerational family with our grown son, his partner and our 2 year old grandson. We share the same beautiful entrance with the apartment. It is just to the left as you come in the door. You may be greeted by two friendly black labs, Lucy and Ollie. The full size bed is in the loft, so must have the agility to climb the European half step stairs. (see photos) The well appointed kitchenette has an industrial quality hot plate for cooking, microwave and toaster. If there is anything you need, just ask. The bathroom has a custom built shower with pebbles to gently massage your feet. Close both the doors for greater privacy and sound resilience. Please note that on Sundays from 10 am to noon there will be music in the adjacent movement space as we host a dance. All are welcome!

Guest access
The apartment is within our home. In our home is also a movement space, The Blue Lake Sanctuary. There are public, community classes here, led by the owner, Peggy, for yoga on Tuesdays at 8:30-9:45 am, Saturdays 10 -11:30 am and Albo, the builder of the home, hosts a 5 Rhythms inspired ecstatic dance from 10 to noon on Sundays. You are welcome to join in on any of the public events in the studio. We also have a back yard through the gate that we share with other community members who live on our property. Please close the gate behind you to keep the dogs in. There is a trampoline to use at your own risk, picnic tables and a garden to meander in.

A large, open modern, one bedroom studio apartment on the ground floor of a Victorian. There's a stream of activity on the street, walking and biking. It's a swell, safe neighborhood with professors, students, families. Outside the apartment door you may enjoy coffee or a cocktail at the garden table. the Kitchen is complete and part of the living room which works well with the island, sofa, lounge chair, and kitchen table with chairs.

The space
The studio apartment has low light from windows, with a garden area with table and chairs and view of the bay.(smoking permitted outdoors). The King bed is superb in comfort. The full futon in the living room is high quality, and exists as a sofa space and sleeping for two persons. Decor is eclectic. The shower stall is standard.

Guests are welcome to use the yard and the firepit. Firewood is not provided. If you use the firepit, please prepare the curly green hose behind the house, turn on the water; put the fire out, return hose and turn off the water when you are finished. You may leave firewood under the trees, not near the firepit.

Sorry, we do not have a change machine to we ask that you come prepared with quarters if you plan on doing laundry.

Other things to note
This is an apartment with shared walls, so you might hear some noise from other guest. Please help others enjoy their stay by keeping it down between 9:00 PM and 8:00 AM. We ask that you immediately reach out to host if there is ever any guest noise that is too disturbing.

Other things to note
This is an apartment with shared walls, so you might hear some noise. We ask that all guests reduce noise between 9:00 PM and 8:00 AM so everyone can enjoy their space. If there is ever noise that is too disturbing please reach out to the host immediately.

Pets are allowed but please keep them off the furniture and pick up pet waste immediately.

Modern, light & airy one bedroom apartment, upstairs with the trees and sun. High ceilings, hardwood floors, quartz counter tops and a bar that seats four. Cal King size bed and a rollaway twin in the closet. You will feel like you're in your own private world. It's a pretty special place. And, for me, B & B stands for bed & breakfast. So I make sure you have something to eat in the morning. I can be flexible with check in and check out, if I don't have guests back to back. :-)

The space
Our place is great for couples, open to children but they have to be ok with the leather couch or roll away bed twin bed. We don't have child proof cabinets, and there is a glass table and stairs. We adore animals but unfortunately cannot take in pets because of our dog. The Arcata forest is behind our house and there is a great bike trail up the next street that goes through the forest. My husband rides his bike everyday in the forest and would be happy to take anyone along who would like to experience riding through the redwoods. We have two extra bikes.

Guest access
As long as you're careful about closing gates and have animal sense, you're welcome to explore the backyard and gaze down into the canyon. Our front yard is trees, a lawn, and a pond with a near by bench/stump to sit on. There are random chairs around to find sunny spots to hang out in. I'm diligent about cleaning up after the dogs, but mind your step anyway. We have a washer and dryer, but they are in our home. If you need a load of wash done, I will do one for you or we can talk….We also have a laundromat about a block away. :-)

Other things to note
Airbnb does not collect the 12% Transient occupancy tax from the the city of Arcata, unlike other cities where they do. So out of your nighty charge, we give the city of Arcata 12%. Plus Airbnb charges us (the host) and you (the guest) other service fees. All of that is a drag, but as Benjamin Franklin said "Only two things are certain in life: death and taxes" So hopefully you'll enjoy yourself so much you won't worry about either of those things. :-)

Downtown Arcata Studio Apartment is in a fun and lively location just a block from the Arcata Plaza overlooking a popular seafood restaurant and next door to a winery/cidery. Countless restaurants, shops, and the Arcata Co-op are within a block or two. There is free parking in our private parking lot, fast 1 gig/second Wi-fi, washer/dryer in apt, and apt is behind secure gate w/keycode.

The space
Downtown Arcata Studio Apartment has a queen bed, large table with room for dining and a laptop, big windows, great town and restaurant views, as well as a fully equipped kitchen, full bathroom with shower over tub, and is in a very lively section of town. Our Downtown Arcata Studio Apt is right next door to our Farmer's Market Apt, so families that need more space can book both apts as they share the same gate and landing. The winery next door, NorthStory Winery, frequently has live music and events on weekends, especially holiday weekends, Cal Poly graduation, etc, so we recommend contacting them to see what will be happening prior to booking if this is a concern.

We have tankless water heaters for unlimited hot water, rain shower heads, and very strong water pressure so much so many guests comment on how nice the showers are.

This apartment is quiet and comfortable with everything you might need to enjoy your stay in Humboldt. The house is near multiple trailheads for hiking, close to restaurants and grocery stores, near downtown and in a quiet neighborhood, and a few minute drive from the university.

If you or anyone in your party wishes to smoke/vape or use e-cigarettes of any kind, please make sure that you physically leave the property. The apartment is very cozy with natural wood ceilings and floors. There are 2 forms of heat, central heating and a gas fireplace with remote control for those cool coastal evenings.

The kitchen is fully equipped with pots and pans, dishes, and glassware. There is a microwave and a complimentary coffee/tea bar. Microwavable popcorn is also provided.

Parking Notes: We cannot guarantee a spot in the driveway as they are shared between guests of all three units on a first come, first served basis. Ample street parking is available for guest use. On 10th Street, you can park right in front of the home between 4:00pm - 10:00am the following morning. Outside of these hours, there is a two-hour limit for street parking spots. There is no time limit across the street, so guests can park there anytime. Guest Entry Instructions: This rental utilizes an E-lock, a digital lock that requires a unique code to enter. This code is reset after each guest's stay.

You can’t beat this location. We just completed a remodel. The home was torn down to studs then rebuilt with brand new everything while keeping the charm and old growth redwood construction of this late 1800’s craftsman house. Private and above the street, overlooking the best part of Arcata’s downtown!

Other things to note
Absolutely no pets. Please don’t bring bicycles, electric bikes, scooters or others upstairs. There is plenty of space and steel railing to lock those items up just outside the door behind the locked secure gate.

Enjoy easy access to everything from this centrally located spacious apartment. It is a short walk to the university, downtown, the community forest and a quick drive to our local beaches, forests and rivers. You have everything you need for recharging for new adventures you can find in our local guidebook. We are a family of 2 in the main house on the property and we will not disturb you unless requested. There are 2 separate private entrances and a code key holder prevents entry issue.

The space
This spacious apartment allows inside and outdoor comfort. We have just completed redoing the property and please check out the new backyard and exterior photos. The main house is located partially above the apartment and there is a large front yard and circular driveway that are shared with the guests. Ample on site parking is available. We will post pics of the fresh interior in a few days. The 2 bedrooms with queen beds have soft cotton bedding and lots of pillows are available for you to find your favorite! The open concept kitchen and living area are contemporary in furniture and the windows allow lots of sunlight in weather permitting. Also, there are several majestic redwoods, the pride of Humboldt, on and around the property. The full bath has a handrail for safety, the towels are fluffy and absorbent and shampoo, body wash and conditioner are provided—even shower caps, dental floss and extra toothbrush’s! Relax on the down sofa and enjoy the 52 inch flatscreen TV with multiple streaming services (Netflix, Hulu etc.) to choose from. There are board games, books and puzzles to keep kids engaged. Whip up a quick snack or prepare a holiday feast in the complete and well appointed kitchen. Coffee, teas, cream, juice, butter, as well as a home baked breakfast bread and fruit are provided to make your first morning shopping free. Counter seating for three and a formal dining table (expandable if needed) provide dining options. In the outdoor area, through the French doors, are everything needed for a barbecue and/or fire pit relaxing evening —- as well as a large redwood picnic table . There are melamine dishes, outdoor Edison table and hanging lights to brighten up your evening bbq and refreshment. When in season, a small herb garden is available for your meal prep pleasure! This private sunny patio area has wonderful views of our local redwoods and our flowers and bird feeders will keep you entertained with our feathered friends, especially the hummingbirds!
We will accept additional guests at time of booking only. There is an additional charge of 20.00 per guest per night.
We also are happy to give a “frequent flyer/multiple stay discount if you are planning regular visits to the area to visit students, faculty whatever. This will be set up individually with booking guest.

The onsite parking is a large enough space to accommodate your larger vehicle. Please let us know if you will have more than one vehicle. The driveway is circular and we can arrange access to your needs
on your arrival. You will have a key with back up key box for use as well.

Other things to note
No added cleaning or host service fees at this time. However, it is important to note that there is no smoking inside as well as no cooking of odorous foods (ie fried fish, curry, etc.). Deodorizing is impossible and we have back to back bookings where others do not wish to deal with powerful smells. If this occurs there will be an extra 100.00 charge added to your stay. We would be delighted to host you again and try to keep costs at a minimum for our guests. There is an extra charge of $20.00 per night per additional person. Arrangements for this MUST be provided at time of booking only. No exceptions. A blow up full mattress and linens will be provided. We have a moderate cancellation policy however each cancellation reason will be taken into consideration with regard to refund——but I’m pretty flexible with this one so don’t let it prevent you from booking. We all are aware life is EXTREMELY UNPREDICTABLE…to say the least.

The space
Apartment A is a wonderful well lit 2 bedroom located just 1 block south of the Plaza. Both bedrooms are located on either side of the main kitchen/living/bathroom space making them each feel like very separate and private. There are board games located in 2nd bedroom and pamphlets for the many local outdoor hikes and state/national parks.

Master bedroom has a queen bed, 55" Smart Tv's on swivel arm. 2nd bedroom has a queen bed, 45" Smart Tv's on swivel arm. Netflix is provided but other apps can be used if you sign into your account on Disney, Hulu, etc. Each room has sitting area, lots of natural light, closets & usb charging ports.

Bathroom is roomy, well lit, has a large walk-in shower & double vanity.

Kitchen is modern and has an island for in-kitchen breakfast & meals, new appliances and a small pantry. All the utensils needed to cook meals: pots, pans, baking sheets, blender, hand held mixer, tea kettle, plates, bowls, glasses, wine glasses and silverware. Coffee maker and coffee, tea and hot coco is provided. Salt, Pepper, olive oil and some other seasonings.
