Erowal Bay is a quiet village on St. Georges Basin in an area of natural beauty surrounded by kangaroos, pelicans and other wildlife, but only minutes from Jervis Bay and the townships of Hyams Beach, Vincentia and Huskisson . It is located 3 hours from Sydney or 2.5 hours from Canberra and Sydney airport. The area is perfect for walking, playing tennis at the local village courts or relaxing in the sleepy village atmosphere surrounded by kangaroos and other wildlife.
Waterskiing, fishing, canoeing and windsurfing are just some of the activities to be enjoyed on St George's Basin.

This originally built boathouse is located right on the water in Erowal Bay, a quiet village on the St Georges Basin. It is a fully contained modern studio surrounded by water with its own deck leading to a private jetty and open expansive view. Spectacular blue water and stellar skies at night are breath taking. Sunsets on the deck are magnificent way to end the day with a glass in hand surrounded by the colourful beauty of nature. Kangaroos, birds and the odd echidna are local visitors. This is the perfect location for water and nature lovers.

Inside the boathouse has king size bed, lounge area, dining area, a fully equipt kitchen and bathroom. Outside there is a toilet and a fully fenced area. The waterfront provides a playground for sport enthusiasts including swimming, paddle boarding, boating, skiing, kayaking, sailing etc. there is a private mooring available next to the jetty if you have a boat for easy access in and out of the boat. The boathouse is fenced allowing for your pet dog to come and enjoy the holiday as well. Pets are not allowed on the furniture so please bring your doggie bed etc. Dogs must be well trained and not disturb neighbours or endanger the wildlife.

There was plenty of firewood and we kept the fireplace running since we arrived middle of winter. The private jetty in front of the house was so perfectly situated on the peaceful lake. This property offers 2 bedrooms with very comfortable queen size beds, an ottoman is located in the open plan area that can be made up as a double bed which is also very comfortable this enables the house to accommodate up to 6 people in total, one modern bathroom with shower and separate bath, a beautiful well equipped open plan kitchen with breakfast bar and large dinning table, the open plan lounge area consists of 2 lounges and 2 tub chairs as well as a modern flat screen tv mounted on the wall. There is a reverse cycle air-conditioner the house is fully insulated and also has curtains and blinds on most windows. Outside there is a wonderful large covered deck area where you can sit back and relax watching the sunrise over St Georges Basin or the kangaroos passing by on the waterfront reserve at dusk most evenings alternatively just watching the activities that occur on St Georges Basin. You may gain access to the waterfront reserve through double gates off the property and launch your kayak, canoe, windsurfer or paddle board or even throw in a line from one of the many jetties ! Should you have other water craft that need to be launched from a boat ramp it is less than 1 kilometre down the road from our front gate.There is plenty of parking to park boats or jet skis on the property. Our little cottage just keeps getting better and better. In addition to the covered parking, the shower has had a make-over and the internet has arrived. So, apart from the fully equipped kitchen and laundry, inverter type heating / cooling, all linen and towels and smart TV, you can now access the internet. Watching the antics of the family of Kookaburras as they lord it over the parrots and Bronze Wing pigeons provides plenty of entertainment. While you are using the webber on the front verandah keep an eye out for the nocturnal Bandicoots who have arrived this year . We also have a pizza oven and fire pit in the back yard.

We can see St. George's Basin through the trees and it’s a short drive to Jervis Bay. We back onto to Booderee National Park with its flowers and walks. There is a boat ramp within 1 kilometre . The local shop and cafe are convenient and it’s about 8 km to the brand new shopping centre in Vincentia.

The possibilities are endless whether it is walking, swimming, paddling, cycling, reading or just ‘vegging’ out ‘the cottage’ has it covered.

The Blue Gecko is a brand new modern, convenient and clean two bedroom apartment that is in short walking distance to the Boat Ramp and Paradise beach which is conveniently located at the end of the street. Nearby you will find the local IGA, Bakery and Cafe's where you can enjoy your morning brew and/or brunch. Huskisson is a 15 minutes drive away and only 10 minutes drive to the Booderee National Park where you can access several of Jerve's Bays famous idyllic white sand beaches including the Hyams, Murrays and Caves Beach. Local activities include swimming, kayaking, fishing, bicycle riding and of course Dolphin and Whale watching.

The Blue Gecko boasts two main bedrooms with a queen and double bed with linen/towels provided. The living areas are clean and modern providing tea and coffee making facilities, a dishwasher, heating/cooling, dining table etc. Please note that there is currently no stovetop or oven in the kitchen so we have provided small cooking appliances including a large air fryer, microwave, toaster, sandwich maker and coffee machine. There is also a barbeque area in the back of the property which can also be used to cook hot meals.

Sonia and Joe warmly welcomed us on arrival and gave us recommendations of places to go including Bendalong beach to see stingrays (though we didn't see any, we had a great time at the beach). We also had a front yard and BBQ available to us. The location of the studio is a quick 15 mins drive to Huskisson and Booderee National Park. Wished we had stayed a few more days so that we could use the bikes and kayaks. It's a cosy place for a couple looking for a relaxing gateway, the room is as shown in the photos (and with an induction cooktop and cooking utensils). The only things we thought would be good to have are a proper sliding door instead of a folding bathroom door and a firmer bed. Thank you for hosting us, Sonia and Joe, we truly enjoyed our stay."

The lounge area has dining table with 4 chairs, air conditioning, a fan, TV and lounge that can be converted to a double sized bed (this takes up the majority of the small living area).

The laundry includes a washing machine and dryer along with a second toilet for your convenience.

Additional standard features includes NBN fibre to the house with unlimited data usage (to state the obvious, no illegal downloads please), recliner sun lounges, a hammock, BBQ and small table and chair to sit on the balcony. There are plenty of books to read, some card games, two shiatsu back and shoulder massagers and an Atari flashback console - wether you want to relax after a day at the beach or have fun playing games, we’ve got you covered.

We provide all linen, pillows, blankets, bath and beach towels. Small Google nest mini so you can play some tunes while chilling out in a nice relaxing space.
Whilst there is no official working area, you have NBN fibre connected to the house and the breakfast bar or dining table can be easily used for work purposes.

Your space is fully fenced and has a grass area at the back. We allow medium dogs (max 2) but require a high standard of cleanliness within the house (not on furniture), additional charges apply for pet hair or damage. No cats sorry. There is a grass area at the back of the house. Please do not leave your dog unattended on the premises.

Access to the house is along the side of the main house (opposite side to driveway access and near the boat).

Owner Interaction: Owners live on the property in the front house, along with two occasionally vocal, elderly bulldogs who may say hello when you enter the property!
We are happy to interact as much or little as you like and can provide advice on things to do and see in the area.

Other Information to note: NO SMOKING or VAPES inside the house. An ashtray is located under the sink in the kitchen for use outside only. Any indication of smoking inside will incur additional charges starting at $500.

Cosy Rosella is split-level, with stairs directly off the living room. Please bring a baby gate if required.

The bathroom/laundry is downstairs.

Erowal Bay is the perfect base to enjoy all that Jervis Bay has to offer - bushwalks, beach days, kayaking, water sports and dolphin and whale cruises. The village has a tennis club, a boat ramp (500m away) and a small pizzeria that sells delicious wood-fired pizzas on weekends.

There is also plenty of room on the grounds to park your boat.

You will be spoilt for choice for beaches. In addition to Hyams (our local beach just 5 minutes by car), Booderee National Park is just a 10-minute drive, and has multiple stunning beaches. The many dog-friendly and off-leash beaches of Vincentia and Huskisson are also just 10 minutes away.

Stock up at Vincentia shopping centre (which includes Aldi, Woolies, BWS, a butcher and a pharmacy), just a 5-minute drive away. For cafes, breweries and restaurants Huskisson is a short 10-minute drive.

* Linen and towels are provided.

* Rosella has a full-size and well-appointed kitchen (with dishwasher), but no traditional hob/oven. Instead, we have two induction hob plates, a large combi-microwave/air-fryer, and a Weber gas BBQ.

* Owing to our position at the top of the hill and plenty of large windows (all with fly screens) Rosella generally gets a good breeze. For balmy days, there is aircon and a ceiling fan in the living room. The front bedroom has a ceiling fan, and the rear bedroom has a pedestal fan.

* The TV has a Chromecast so that you can stream your subscriptions (Netflix, etc).

* Neither the front nor the back garden is fenced. Children and dogs must be supervised at all times.

* Many kangaroos live in and around Erowal Bay and visit our garden daily. Remember they are wild animals - respect them and keep your distance.

* We are lucky to live back-to-back with Booderee National Park (literally!). Please remember that all of its wild inhabitants live here too.
