*Shellharbour is 1 1/2 hours south of Sydney, situated just north of Kiama.
*It is a small waterfront village with lots of shops and outdoor cafes and restaurants. There is a boat harbour for launching boats, and breakwaters for fishing, and the new Shell Cove Yacht Marina, shops and Tavern at the other end of our street opening 2022.
*There is plenty of shopping with large grocery and wonderful seafood market at Shellharbour Square, just 8 minutes drive away.
*There is an olympic size salt water rock pool, also just a short walk from the house.
*For those without a car, it is easy to take the train from Sydney Central to Shellharbour Junction (just 6 minutes in a taxi). Some of the Clubs in the area provide free transport in the evening for dinner etc.

LOCAL ATTRACTIONS
*Apart from the swimming and fishing, there are famous surf beaches nearby at The Farm as well as great scuba diving at Bass Point, just 5 minutes down the road.
*There is a boat harbour only 5 minutes around the corner, for launching a boat, and plenty of off street parking for a boat.
*The closest supermarket is Woolworths in Shell Cove.
*There is a small local IGA supermarket, but Shellharbour Square is a very large shopping centre, only 10 minutes drive away. They also have a wonderful fish market, definately worth a look if you enjoy seafood.

MEL VEDERE LOCATION - the property is located on Addison Street which runs through the heart of the local village. The convenient location allows you to enjoy the friendly village atmosphere by foot. As you stroll toward the shops , you will find that the street is lined with cafes, boutique specialty shops, an ice-creamery, a general store, bakery, butcher, beauty salon etc. There are a variety of restaurants which includes Seafood, Thai, Chinese, & Italian just to name a few. This convenient location means that you can experience the friendly village atmosphere within minutes by foot.

As you head further down the street you will reach the small harbour which is one of the main attractions of Shellharbour. There is a picnic area & park along the foreshore which is a great spot to have a picnic, enjoy some fish and chip or relax under a tree. The harbour has a small beach which is an ideal swimming place for smaller children. Little Park sits right at the harbour and offers hours of fun for the children too. The playground was which was recently upgraded has new slides, flying fox, swings and much more. A little further down are two salt water rock pools.

For the fishing and boating enthusiasts the harbour is a popular place to drop a line. The ramp at the end of point is the perfect place to launch the boat - 3 minute drive from Mel Vadere Holiday Home.

We had entered into the Shellharbour running festival 🏃‍♀️ I have nothing but positive reviews for this beautiful property & the host, Louise 🫶 Location excellent. Pleasant residential neighbourhood, park opposite & only a short walk into the main Street which catered well for food, beverages & shopping. Also within a very short walk of the start line, at the patrolled beach. ✔️ Hassle free keyless entry, with 2 car garage✔️ Home lovely, bright, spacious, well appointed (furniture & homewares) & exceptionally clean ✔️ High quality towels & linen ✔️ Plenty of kitchen space, crockery, cutlery, glasses (including champagne flutes) & other kitchen items. There were plenty of basic pantry food items, tea, coffee & coffee machine. There was also milk & butter in the fridge, on our arrival ✔️. I could have left half the grocery items brought along at home. Louise was also so generous & left some items of food & drink appropriate to running & celebrating 😉 Which were much appreciated & utilised. She had also left some locally baked dough, avocado & tomatoes. Unexpected Bonus ✔️ Louise supplied beach towels, children’s toys & a beach trolley. Shellharbour Junction train station is just down the road. Wollongong is only 20kms away, 8 minutes to Kiama, 15 minutes to Jamberoo Action Park and a 1 hour drive to the Southern suburbs of Sydney. The Shellharbour Airport with regular flights to Melbourne and Brisbane is located in nearby Albion Park.

Our closest train station is Dunmore station and buses run regularly along Addison Street in Shellharbour.
