Discover the beautiful Endless Mountain region in Northeastern PA. Situated above the Poconos, you will find quaint country towns, antique shops, art, music, historical sites, scenic country roads, long lazy rivers, game lands, trout streams, a plethora of restaurants and the highly regarded Elk Mountain Ski Resort (13.6 miles door to door).

The cabin is 1500 sq. ft. located on four very private acres situated on a bluff situated above a thickly wooded, country lane. The owners do not live on site, so you have full access to the cabin and property. While only 7 miles from historic Susquehanna and just a few minutes from the state highway, you will feel miles away from civilization.

This well-appointed cabin features a fully equipped kitchen with oven, stove, refrigerator, blender, toaster, microwave, crock pot, and all of the plates, glasses, pots and pans you will need. There is a Keurig for your coffee. The living room features a nice wood burning fireplace, flat screen television (with a ROKU and about 20 local channels - no cable) and plenty of comfy seating. There are two large bedrooms upstairs with a total of 5 twin beds, 1 double bed, and a couple of spare futons for the kids. There are two full bathrooms, one upstairs and one downstairs. There is a smaller bedroom downstairs that has been converted to a sitting lounge/office with games, books, karaoke and bar supplies. Set up your laptop and take advantage of the fast, free Wi-Fi.

The cabin is tastefully decorated with a nice sofa, a couple of love seats and a few scattered chairs. Local artwork adorns the walls. A few antiques from the area can be found throughout the cabin.

A large porch wraps around two sides of the cabin - the front is covered for rainy days while the side has an outdoor table for dining under the stars. Roast some marshmallows over the fire pit, play a leisurely game of badminton, throw some horseshoes or simply relax out on the lawn chairs and take in the views. Nights are typically cool and very clear for stargazing.

Guests have four full acres to roam on the property, as well as country roads for biking, trails for hiking (Florence Shelley Nature Preserve, Salt Springs State Park, D&H Rail Trail), nearby state game lands, trout streams, golf courses, and much more. The woods feature cherry, maple, ash and soaring pine trees as well as a wide variety of animals including deer, fox, turkey, and black bear. Like to fish? There are trout streams nearby and a few public access lakes. Have a canoe or kayak? The Susquehanna River is down the road. There are State Game Lands throughout Susquehanna County for deer and turkey hunting in the fall. It is also near the Aaronic Priesthood Restoration Site.

Guests do not need to meet with the owner to check in. There is a keypad on the door. No key exchange needed. Directions provided upon booking.

Important Notes:

-Please understand that this is a cabin in the woods. It is not a 5 star hotel but if something seems amiss, please let me know and we will work with you to get it right. We rely on a cleaning company, a plow driver, the mowing crew and our most importantly guests to help keep our cabin clean and bright.

-We do not provide sheets and towels, in that there is no washer/dryer on site and your own sheets, pillowcases and towels are much more sanitary. However, there are plenty of comforters, blankets, and pillows provided which are switched out often. There are laundromats nearby for the needs of our longer term guests. Bring toilet paper.

-Really Important: You will need to take your trash with you at the conclusion of the rental. We are quite remote and do not have trash service. There are local drop off points for garbage but they have limited hours--we have provided directions in the cabin. Most plan on taking their garbage home with them. Unfortunately there are no exceptions to this policy.

The heat is electric baseboard and controlled in each room through a wall thermostat. There is a window unit AC upstairs for that very rare warm evening.

We respectfully request that you treat this property with the same respect that you do your own home. Please clean up as needed, take garbage, and leave the furnishings as they were upon check-in. Be careful with the fire pit. It can get very windy! Food and garbage needs to be store inside to keep the wildlife away (we have bears around). Sheets, towels, and pillowcases must be provided by the guest. Well-behaved dogs are ok but a flat pet fee applies, No cats, please.

Hunting is NOT permitted on the property, but there are plenty of nearby game lands.

Winter Guests: You will most likely need 4WD. Our driveway is plowed, but steep.

The cabin interior is definitely that of a cabin- the carpeting and couches are a little tired and maybe it could use a female’s decorating touch, but there was a nice view of the lake to eat by and essentials were all there. Beds were comfortable. For a house that allows dogs we weren’t expecting perfection inside (animals create wear and tear, we get it)! I’d say it was true to the online photos. We appreciated being able to come and go easily with the check in and check out process. There wasn’t a mile long list on exactly how to do things that many STRs have- it was refreshing to just clean up as we would at our own house and be on our way! Thank you Jim!"

Downstairs there are two bedrooms hidden behind barn doors. Bedroom one offers a queen bed and the second features 3 cozy built in singles. There is a full size bed in the downstairs space for extra guest. The mudroom and bathroom are also on the bottom floor.

You will have access to the lake from the public dock for kayaking (two kayaks are provided for your use) swimming, fishing, and boating in the summer and ice fishing and ice skating in the winter.

It was clean and well appointed. The furnishings were quite comfortable. The grounds are well maintained. There were only a few other folks staying there but we enjoyed the pavilion, fire pit and outdoor grilling space. The property is on a long rolling hillside with wonderful views. The description was not kidding when it says it's in a very rural area. We only saw a few cars drive by the whole time we were there. That being said, the nearest store/food was a little over 10 minutes away so be prepared to drive to everything. There were plenty of outdoor activities for all seasons. Overall, it was a wonderful space for a couple or bring a group and take advantage of all the communal amenities."

During the summer the mountain allows hiking up its runs, which we did and was a great morning activity even with young kids and yields a wonderful view of the surrounding mountains. The Lodge sleeps 8 most comfortably, but could fit 10-12 as the Living Room has 2 pull-out couches. Additional Fee for more than 8 guests. You have multiple heating sources - Electric Baseboards, 2 Gas Fireplaces, Cadet Wall Heaters in each Bathroom, a Commercial Window AC/Heater unit in the Mud Room, and a Mini-Split System that Heats or Cools the WHOLE HOUSE! You will always be warm and cozy especially with the Coffee Bar located in the Mud Room.

Fiddle Lake is a private, well-stocked quiet lake that allows power boats (no HP motor limit), fishing, swimming, canoeing, etc. If I seen 4-5 boats a day on the water in August, that was a lot. Very calm and quiet.

We currently have snorkel setups, a Kayak with paddle, 2 Paddle Boards with paddles and a Paddle Boat and canoe at the property for your use. New for 2025, we have a 12' Fishing Boat with Trolling Motor that can be rented separately from your property rental. Inquire with Bobby re pricing. BOAT is NOT included in your property rental!! Also available are 8 fishing poles with lures, bobbers, bait bucket, and more! We do have life jackets, for kids too. We always recommend bringing your own life jackets sized to your kids. Unfortunately, there is NO public launch for your boat. There is a Firepit lakeside next to the 30' dock, so bring bundles of wood or you can buy FIREWOOD from locals who post signs all around. Many local farms so you can buy milk, eggs, vegetables, fruits all fresh and locally and organically grown.

Your Lakeside Patio Deck Is the actual "Heart" of the home as this is where you will spend MOST of your time. Deck is complete with dining table, Gas Propane Grill all overlooking your private dock and 60 feet of lakefront! There is a sitting area by the lake made out of blue stone and also a firepit to sit by the fire lakeside at night.

Winter guests, you need a 4x4 vehicle on unpaved country roads. Enjoy Ice Fishing, SnowMobiling and World Class Skiing is just 8 minutes to Elk Mountain Ski Resort! You cannot beat the location of this cabin if you're looking for time on the slopes or some GREAT Ice Fishing. We do supply an ICE AUGER, 2 Tip-Ups, fishing poles, Ice Scoop, and Bait bucket. Lake is FULL of Northern Pike, Musky, Smallmouth and Largemouth Bass and tons of Perch and Crappie.

PA fishing license website is fishandboat dot com. Licenses are required as Game Warden is at the lake weekly to ensure it remains a pristine fishery.

Believe us when we say - Morcom's Fiddle Lake Lodge is a can't miss for a lakefront getaway. We do allow Dogs for a fee per dog, and it goes without saying to pick up your dog's mess. If you are going to be out of the property and Dogs left alone, we would want Dogs to be crated. Inquire before booking if you have any questions.

This property does not have an EV charging station. Charging of EVs is not allowed without prior approval and charging fee’s. 4x4 vehicles are a must in Winter!!

Typical minimum night stay is 5, but please let us know if you have a shorter stay as we have cancellations and can accommodate shorter stays. We do accept longer than 30 day rentals which require a Lease to be signed for every 30 day stay, and also Seasonal Rentals 3-4 months long. Inquire with us.
