There is a huge Tesco in Inverness and a smaller one in Ullapool (25 miles) open 7 days a week. You may order newspapers to be collected at the local stores. You will receive a full information pack of all suppliers, activities, etc. on booking.

Dogs: We welcome dogs by arrangement. The village is a crofting community with many sheep roaming free. The garden is well fenced with a cattle grid at the entrance. There are many walks where dogs can run free, but through the village it is important to keep dogs on leads.
We are sure your dogs don't sit on the sofas or beds but if you think they might do so please bring your own dog blankets to cover our furniture.

Activities: Many visitors come to walk in the area. We supply a list of 25 tried and tested walks of different lengths along with maps. It is a great area for kayaking. If you do not have your own kayaks it is possible to go out with a local guide. Sailing and windsurfing are both available on Tanera, the largest of the Summer Isles. Day cruises around the Summer Isles are available from Achiltibuie and Ullapool. Achiltibuie Traditional Music School offers piping lessons amongst other instruments. The village hall has a wonderful sports hall for badminton, indoor football, table tennis for wet days and also hosts many ceilidh and other musical events throughout the summer. Ullapool has a great leisure centre including an excellent swimming pool. Golf is available at Ullapool's challenging 9 hole golf course.
