We itched the next day after sleeping the night and there was a musty smell in the room, in addition to the smell of beef burgers as the bathroom is directly above the kitchen and music till closing time. Beautiful Grade 2 listed cottage 200 metres from the sheltered tidal Snowhill Creek at the entrance of Chichester Harbour. With the Sailing Club opposite, and a short walk to the to the famous West Wittering beach, Windsurfing Club, bird reserves and the National Trust sand dunes of East Head.

The cottage is part of a row of former Coastguard Cottages, built around 1833, with small garden to the front and a small yard to the rear. Three bedrooms comprised of double bed, two singles and smaller ground floor bedroom with bunk bed. Cottage is small and compact and perfectly formed! It is cozier than the photos indicate!

Temporary sailing club membership might be available and would require contacting the Sailing Club secretary via their web site. In addition, we have contacts with many of the local sailing instructors. Sailing is possible two to three hours either side of high tide.

When not dining out the galley kitchen has everything you need to effectively self-cater during your stay, it is equipped with kettle, dishwasher, cooker, fridge, microwave, toaster and washing machine.

The cottage has two bedrooms, one master bedroom with double bed and one bunk bed room. The stairs also have a gate at the top and bottom of the stairwell in case you are travelling with young children.

- "Lovely little cottage. Excellent and thoughtful fittings and tastefully furnished with quality furniture and bed linen. Children's room was very inviting with lovely little touches with quality soft toys to welcome little children. I would like to point out, rather reluctantly in view of how much thought had gone into providing a quality home-from-home experience, that for myself and my husband both in our 70s, that the accommodation is not suited for older occupancy. We found it quite difficult during the night if we needed to use the toilet which is downstairs. The stairs are very steep and coming down them during the night, being slightly sleepy was quite dangerous. Also the design of where the toilet was in relation to the shower and hand washroom where one has to treck through the kitchen to wash ones hands after using the toilet is not practical nor hygienic. We were surprised that this has been passed by the local authority. We could see that good use had been made of the available space but at the very least a small hand basin needs to be installed in the toilet area. Another point I would like to make. The absence of a freezer in a self catering cottage created problems for us. I particularly like self catering and came prepared with menus and ingredients some of which are frozen before I arrive. I had to throw away good quality meat for our meals and food I had prepared for the dog. Luckily the lovely resident next door came to the rescue and put some food in her freezer. I would imagine even young parents might freeze portions of baby food to make life easier away from home. And had there been a broom and mop I would have kept the floors clean. It did rain a lot and also there was no mat inside front door. These are just a few points that need to be mentioned in the renting info. But I do emphasise it is a lovely cottage that the owners have put a lot of thought into. I mention these points merely as feedback as I feel sure the owner would appreciate it. I would certainly recommend to younger families."

The large living area makes for a comfortable spot to snuggle down after a day out on the hot sand or even a winters retreat. Cosy up infront of the electric fire and watch a movie on the dvd / blu ray player on the good sized television. The modern and well equipped kitchen has everything you will need to effectively self cater during your stay, with fridge/freezer, dishwasher, microwave, oven and hob. At the back of the cottage is a conservatory style dining room that overlooks the courtyard rear garden. This is an ideal space for evening drinks or lunch in the sunshine, with the option of opening the patio doors to the dining room so it can be used along with the courtyard as one. With high walls even though you are at the heart of the village there is no need to worry about privacy.

The first floor to the cottage has 2 bedrooms. The first has a double bed, plus a “day-bed” which can either be used as a sofa or pulls out to provide an extra double bed. With one parking space at the house, driving here is a good option, but once you’re here, unless you’re planning to venture far and wide, you might find you can leave the car parked up. Or you can always hire local cabs to get you where you need to go. And Chichester has a railway station that connects this part of the world with many other locations in southern England, including Bournemouth, Portsmouth, and London.

Our Beach House is within a few minutes walk of the beautiful West Wittering Beach. More details on Design Vintage site. Located right in WW village centre - the pub, village shops & National Trust sand dunes are all very close by. Recently renovated throughout with interiors and furnishing by Design Vintage, the house has stunning period features and every modern convenience. The large secure garden has lawned areas, mature trees and a huge decked area perfect for entertaining with Pizza Oven! Treehouse, Trampoline & Rope Swings. 3 Double Bedrooms (1 is ground floor) & 1 large Triple kid's room with 1 single bed & 1 set full size Bunkbeds.

The house is immaculate throughout and we think you will love the space - perfect for family gatherings wanting a relaxing holiday right by the beach with plenty of outdoor space and lots to keep the children entertained. The 3 double bedrooms (1 is superking) are all a good size and 2 of them can easily take a cot if required. The 4th bedroom is a very large triple perfect for children and again lots of room for an additional cot. We have a lovely sunny playroom with lots of toys, games and art activities to keep little ones amused whilst you relax on the terrace! The lounge with log burner has sofas and comfy chairs for relaxing and we have an eat-in vaulted kitchen/dining room with a large dining table as well as a further breakfast table.

Out on the terrace is another large dining table, surf shack, bbq and built in woodfired pizza oven, as well as the outdoor (hot) shower. We have a further breakfast table under a pergola, perfect for the morning sun.

Newly built this year, there is an outdoor cabin with gorgeous lounging area complete with sofas under a bamboo covered pergola with lighting. The cabin has quickly become the 'sleepover den' and with built-in benches/beds it can accommodate two children wishing to have a glamping experience in the garden! It is fully insulated and double glazed, complete with power and disco lights! The pergola catches the evening sun and is the perfect spot for late drinks.

Within a short drive of Chichester City Centre and Goodwood Racecourse and Motor Circuit, this is the perfect base for groups attending the prestigious Goodwood Events Calendar. The house lends itself to one or two families with children as all the children can sleep in one big room leaving 3 doubles for the adults.

West Wittering is a beautiful village with village shops, restaurant, cafe and pub all within a minute's stroll of the house. Both are sandy and shelve gently which makes them perfect for children. There is a beach trolley for loading up with all the beach gear (and tired little ones on the way home!).

The Gables is a stunning Scandinavian-style home, within short a distance (15 min walk, 5 min cycle) of the award-winning West Wittering Beach. Extended in 2023 to an extremely high standard, including modern features throughout, this spacious home is as comfortable as it is stylish.

*Inside*
The Gables has two en-suite bedrooms (one king, one superking), a further bedroom with super king bed and a children’s bedroom with bunk beds (plus an extra trundle). The ground floor features Crittal doors, and pale wooden flooring opening into a huge open living space. It includes a well-equipped kitchen, large dining area, breakfast bar, picture window/seating area plus a cosy TV lounge area. There is also a games room with table tennis and a wide selection of board games (this room also has a sofa bed). Plus a further sitting room with television. The side extension has a utility room, extra hanging space and a wetroom, with its own entrance - ideal for hanging extra coats and wetsuits from a day at the beach.

The substantial rear garden overlooks a large field with horses. It has plenty to keep children of all ages happily occupied, with a trampoline, football goal and a rope swing. The Landing serves good coffee, yummy pastries and ice cream, and is found just by the beach entrance.

Getting Around:
With parking for up to four cars at the house, driving here is a good option. But once you’re here, unless you’re planning to venture far and wide, you might find you can leave the car parked up.

So much is within easy walking distance, including the beach, shops and pubs. There are local bus services that connect you regularly with East Wittering and Chichester.

Or you can always hire local cabs to get you where you need to go. And Chichester has a railway station that connects this part of the world with many other locations in southern England, including Bournemouth, Portsmouth and London.

The Landing serves good coffee, yummy pastries and ice cream, and is found just by the beach entrance.

There is also a very well-stocked corner shop and off-licence in the village, just five minutes walk from the annex.

Getting Around:
We recommend having a car to explore the area more easily. But there are easy bus routes into East Wittering, Bracklesham Bay and the city of Chichester. The bus stop is at the end of the road.

Other Things to Note:
The shepherds hut is set on the grounds of a family home. There is another holiday annexe within the grounds. Please respect other guests and the property owners by not blocking the main entrance with your car and keeping noise to a minimum after 10pm.

This lovely self contained garden annexe is the perfect location for visiting the beautiful blue flag beach of West Wittering and East Head, Chichester Harbour, the Roman town of Chichester, and Goodwood events.
The space
This sunny, stylish two roomed self contained garden annexe with king size bed. Located along a peaceful lane, just a three minute walk from West Wittering village with its pub and village shops and only a 15 minute walk to the Blue Flag Beach of West Wittering and East Head.
Conveniently located, there is a local bus to Chichester which runs every 30 minutes.
I am sorry but this accommodation is not suitable for children.

Enter this charming bright and airy annexe into the open plan living area. The south facing downstairs lounge/ kitchenette has french doors looking out across the mature, pretty shared garden and has a lovely light and airy feel. There is a Smart TV (please be advised you will need to use your own log in details to access the TV apps), fridge, microwave/grill, portable induction hot plate, Airfryer, kettle and toaster. Please be advised that there is no oven nor washing machine.
Fairly steep stairs lead up from the living area into the bright and spacious bedroom with its sloping eaves, ensuite shower room, TV and comfortable king size bed. Due to the steep stairs, we do not recommend this accommodation for young children.

Upon arrival, complimentary tea, coffee, and biscuits await you, providing a warm welcome after a long journey. We provide fresh white bedding and towels (one hand towel and one bath towel per person) and offer miniature travel-sized bottles of shampoo, shower gel, and soap. Additionally, a kitchen pack is included, featuring essentials such as kitchen roll, Jeyes cloths, sponges, washing up liquid, bin liners, tea towels, washing pods, and dishwasher tablets. Loo rolls are also provided for your convenience. Should you require more supplies, a small convenience store is just a few minute walk away.

The property is in a lovely location with a short walk along the lane to the village shops, pub, Norman church and cafe. The Beach and Chichester Harbour are a 15 minute walk where you can connect with all the coastal paths and East Head Nature Reserve. Four new public Tennis Courts are available to use in the village. The endless leisure pursuits in the area include kitesurfing, sailing, paddle boarding, cycling, golf and bird watching.
The busy East Wittering (1 mile) has supermarkets, numerous restaurants, pub, pharmacy, hardware, bakery, fishmonger and surf shops.
Goodwood (12 miles) is famous for its Horse racing and Car Festivals (Revival and Festival of Speed. Chichester (7 miles) has a Cathedral, Festival Theatre and excellent shops and restaurants. Portsmouth and Arundel are within 30 minutes drive. Our local bus stop is 3 minutes walk from the property.

You will have sole access to the annexe. Stairs open up into the spacious bedroom (no door) with its sloping ceilings (watch your head!) and ensuite shower. A garage is available for cycle storage.

Charming 3 bedroom cottage, a short stroll from West Wittering beach, ideal for family holidays or short breaks all year round. Enjoy invigorating beach & harbour walks with cosy evenings in front of the log fire or beach days followed by drinks round the firepit, BBQs and alfresco dining on the secluded terrace. The large, sheltered gardens provide ample space for adults to relax whilst children explore, trampoline and discover the secret treehouse amongst the bluebells.

Our cosy cottage, set in half an acre of mature gardens, is perfect for getting away from it all. Although full of character, our home has a traditional layout with living space on the ground floor and bathroom and all sleeping accommodation on the first.

The period kitchen with views onto the gardens has everything you need for home-catering. Make the most of the herb garden beside the kitchen stable door and seasonal home-grown soft fruit and vegetables at the rear of the garden.

The dining room is ideal for relaxed, family breakfasts and entertaining as is the adjoining York stone terrace with parasol, garden table and chairs for 6, amidst the wisteria clad walls.

There is a downstairs cloakroom off the wide hallway leading to the cosy, double aspect sitting room with its log burner, comfy seating and book and DVD libraries for nights in after long days in the sea air.

For Christmas, the living areas will have a sprinkling of "natural" style decorations and festive foliage from the garden.

All bedrooms with their double-aspect, charming "eyebrow" windows are bright and sunny.

The 1st floor bathroom with small bath, shower and underfloor heating is practical and there is a separate WC at mezzanine level.

Outside, there is parking for 2+ cars. The gardens, made up of lawns, flower beds and mature trees, are punctuated by pathways for children to explore and seating areas for adults to relax. There is a hidden tree house, outdoor table tennis table, netball ring, catching practice net and a 14 feet trampoline for children to amuse themselves on those non-beach days.

A washing machine is located in the adjoining outbuilding for ease of apres-beach use, as well as an outdoor shower for use during the summer months. There is plenty of outside space for your bikes, beach kit and sailing equipment and you will find a BBQ, firepit, paddle board, boogie board, beach trolley and toys stored in the summer house, for your use.

The cottage is in West Wittering village and only a short stroll or bike ride via the "locals'" quieter, private access to the beautiful, sandy "Blue Flag" West Wittering beach with its extensive sand dunes leading to the National Trust's East Head and Chichester Harbour beyond. Children can enjoy the shallow waters and gentle shore break as well as the pools left by the outgoing tide. The beach area near the public car park with wash and other facilities is manned by lifeguards during the height of summer.

Young children love the crab pool and wild blackberry picking at Snow Hill Creek (and adults, a sundowner whilst enjoying the view across to East Head, Pilsey Island and the Downs beyond). For the more active, we are surrounded by many beautiful walks and cycle paths including Salterns Way.

The village itself has a selection of small shops, cafes, tennis courts, playground with football pitch and outdoor exercise equipment, church and The Witterings gastropub with live music in the garden on Sundays. The riding stables are just a 5min bike ride (booking advisable).

Our cottage is an ideal base for exploring the many surrounding sights and attractions including the beautiful cathedral city of Chichester, Goodwood, the South Downs and Arundel Castle to name but a few.

Watersports are big in West Wittering. West Wittering is known for its windsurfing and kitesurfing (contact 2XS for board hire) not to mention its sailing clubs at nearby Itchenor and Chichester Marina.

The Neighborhood:
West Wittering has one of the most popular sandy beaches on the UK's south coast. And this home puts you within easy walking distance of it. The property is situated in a quiet residential road.

Whether you’re staying to explore the surrounding area or relax, you’ll be pleased to know that the local shop is within easy walking distance, so you can stock up the fridge, freezer and cupboards in the house with your favourites. And there’s a pub close by too, great for soaking up the sun in the pub garden or enjoying dinner out.

East Wittering village is a short drive away, which has plenty of shops, including fish mongers, butchers and green grocers. You'll also find cafes, pubs and restaurants and surf shops. You can walk to the village in 25 mins or drive in less than 5 minutes.

The biggest local city, Chichester, with its many shops, stores, coffee shops, and entertainment venues including a cinema and theatre. The majestic cathedral is also well worth a visit.

Sporting events: There are two horse racing courses that can be easily reached from the house, Fontwell and Goodwood, with the latter also playing host to the annual Festival of Speed and Revival in September.

If you're into walking, beautiful countryside and coastal paths can be reached on foot from the house. Or a few miles to the north, you'll find The South Downs, great for picturesque walks, hikes and bike rides.

Getting Around:
Although you can walk to the beach and local amenities. We strongly recommend that you arrive in a car as it will give you much freedom to explore and enjoy the beautiful West Sussex area.
