This charming early century cottage is the perfect blend of original features and modern conveniences. The hosts at Blacksmiths have just completed a facelift including recruiting a new specialist cleaning team so guests can look forward to a comfortable stay.
The large kitchen is furnished with everything you will need to comfortably self-cater during your stay. The kitchen includes oven, hob, freezer, fridge, dishwasher, microwave, toaster, kettle, washing machine and tumble dryer. There is a comfortable seating area overlooking the well maintained and tranquil garden. On warmer days there is a BBQ outside with plenty of outside seating and a shed at the bottom of the garden where you can store your bikes.
At the front of the house is a large cosy living area with a TV and a wood burner, the perfect room to snuggle down after a day of walking around Bosham harbour or even shopping in the nearby Chichester city centre.

This property has 4 bedrooms, a master bedroom with a super king bed and a shower room en suite, 2 king size rooms and a bunk bed room with an extra pull out bed ( This bed is for the tenth person and can be put in any bedroom and must be requested). The house is situated to the east of Bosham which is a quaint village on the Hampshire/Sussex boarder. From the house you can walk to the shore within a few minutes passing through the village itself which is charming and has a collection of sweet little independent shops and two wonderful pubs, The Barclay Arms and The Anchor Bleu which are well worth a try.

If you venture into Chichester you will find a wonderful array of both independent and high street shops and boutiques. If you really fancy a treat book yourself a table at Purchases for a fabulous meal or just cocktails.

For a great day out you can easily reach Portsmouth Historic Dockyard or The Weald and Downland Open Air Museum, home of BBC's The Repair Shop, both places are great fun for any age group. There is outlet shopping, cinema complex and bowling at GunWharf Quays which you can easily reach by car or train from Emsworth. For something a little different you can book seal watching boat trips from Hayling Island or hire kayaks from Emsworth Marina.

Bosham stands on a small peninsula between two tidal creeks at the eastern end of Chichester harbour. As well as providing an excellent sanctuary for migrating wildfowl, it is also a wonderful centre for sailing, with literally hundreds of moorings for boats and yachts. In the summer, the Quay is a perfect location to watch the activity on and off the water and out of season it is equally beautiful, with glorious sunsets to be seen above the coastline and level walks to be enjoyed along the shore.

Bosham still has an enchanting old world feel to it, with picturesque streets and houses, seemingly from a bygone era. Historically speaking, it is one of the most important villages in Sussex. Bosham has much to offer the modern traveller. There is a wide variety of pubs, restaurants and tea rooms, in which to enjoy anything from a cappuccino to a gourmet meal. Transport links are good, with an hourly bus service to and from Chichester and a railway station in the northern part of the village. The M27 motorway is just a short distance away and provides easy access to Southampton airport and the M3 to London.

Getting Around:
There is no dedicated parking spot but there is a large car park directly behind May Cottages.
Driving to the property is a good option, as it gives you the freedom to explore the area at your own pace. Or you can always order taxis if you’d prefer someone else to do the driving for a change. Should you wish to use public transport, there’s a bus stop within a 15 minute walk of the house with regular services into Chichester. In Chichester, there’s a mainline train station which can link you to various destinations across southern England, including Brighton, Portsmouth and London.

Entering the apartment into the large hallway the main King sized bedroom is to the front adjacent the double bedroom. The family bathroom is at the end of the hallway with a walk in shower.

The Kitchen area has everything you would need to comfortably self cater for your stay including: fridge with freezer compartment, washing machine, Krupps coffee maker, toaster, kettle and microwave. The Kitchen leads through into the Lounge / dining area with lovely comfortable sofas and a dining table with seating for four. This room has lovely original features and a superb fireplace. Double casement doors lead into a lovely sunny patio area with bistro set to enjoy your morning coffee.

- "We were in the UK for the Goodwood FOS. Proximity to the event was quite good (though traffic to the site was very congested!) The property was clean and well kept. Fortunately the weather was cool so while A/C was not available, it was not needed. The flat had all the conveniences needed for making meals and doing laundry (tho we didn’t need to use it). We did have to make a run to Tesco to pick up bar soap and shampoo - which we should have thought of being a flat & not a hotel - and some food, of course. We had a slight challenge navigating the instructions to access the flat & the other neighbours in the complex seemed a bit irritated with us, but I think we won them over by not being there all day & being exhausted by the time we did return, thus making very little commotion before we turned in. Perhaps the best part for us was the proximity to ‘The White Swan’ Free house (pub) where we spent a few evenings and were welcomed back with open arms upon our return in the evening! This was quite an enjoyable, convenient stay!"

We are very excited to welcome guests to our stylish garden annexe in beautiful Bosham. It has been recently built and offers a great space for those seeking a short break in Bosham. It sleeps up to 2 guests and is perfect for a couples short getaway. It is just a short stroll to the harbour itself, and only 5 miles from Chichester.

This beautifully decorated annexe offers a large open plan living space overlooking the pretty and well-tended shared garden. Large bifold doors open up to the patio, perfect for enjoying an alfresco meal in the warmer months on the patio dining set. The comfortable king sized bed will be made up for your arrival with crisp white hotel style linen, and there is plenty of additional seating with a two seater sofa. There is also a large 80" Smart TV (you will need to use your own log in details for the TV apps).

The sweet dining set with mismatched chairs is perfect for enjoying a cosy breakfast for two and overlooks the patio. The kitchenette has a fridge, toaster, kettle and a combination microwave. Please note there is no hob, however, the annexe is located in the heart of Bosham with pubs, cafes and restaurants all within walking distance. The addition of the discreet desk in the unit beside the TV offers a space for remote working whilst allowing you to hide the work away when it is time to relax!
The bathroom has a walk-in shower.

You will have access to the whole annexe, as well as the private terrace area overlooking the garden of the main house. I won't be around in person, however, I have help managing my Airbnb by a local company. The annexe is professionally cleaned and the linen and towels are replaced with professionally laundered supplies between each stay. Remote self check-in gives flexibility for late arrivals, and 24/7 guest support is on hand should you need any assistance during your stay.
There will be some complimentary tea, coffee and biscuits waiting for you which I am sure will be useful for those arriving after a long journey!

Fresh white bedding and towels are provided (hand towel and bath towel per person) as well as miniature travel sized bottles of shampoo, shower gel and soap. Other items provided during your stay are a washing-up pack, loo roll and kitchen roll. If more is needed, there is a Co-op less than a mile away.

Rye Cottage is fitted with a beautiful hand built, fully equipped kitchen, a spacious lounge dining room and a lovely garden and spacious driveway. All of the bedrooms are spacious and there is a family bathroom on first floor plus ensuite off main bedroom.
When you arrive at Rye Cottage the first thing to do is to walk to the Quay along the waters edge and maybe even treat yourself to a drink in the Anchor Bleu pub. Bosham has 3 pubs, a hotel with dining for non residents, 2 local stores, an Indian takeaway and a restuarant, 4 cafe/coffee shops, a craft centre where you can do pottery painting, hairdressers, fish and chip shop, art gallery, florist, a sailing club, a ferry stop which will take you to Itchenor sailing village, great cycling routes, bus stops and a railway station. Once here you have everything you need to enjoy a holiday on the water without having to get into your car if you don't want to.
If you enjoy cycling, bring your bikes as the ferry will take you and your bikes to Itchenor and the Salterns Way cycle route where you can easily cycle to the Witterings beaches.

The main house is detached and has 4 double bedrooms with 1.5 bathrooms, a huge spacious entertaining area with bathroom and breakfast room. In the garden is a pretty summerhouse with double bedsitting room, kitchette and separate showroom and loo. The garden is private, flat and laid to lawn with fruit trees and shrubs with heated swimming pool (8 x 4 metres).
There is parking for up to three (possible 4) cars in our own private driveway.
The property is just 150 yards from the beautiful waterside of Bosham village which has pretty centre with an ancient and picturesque Norman Church. The famed Anchor Bleu pub is great for lunch and dinner. Quay Meadows (owned by the National Trust) is a lovely open area lovely for picnics and relaxing whilst watching the boats on the water.
Chichester is just 3 miles away. A handsome small city with its beautiful Cathedral, the famous Chichester Festival Theatre, parks and great shopping.
West Wittering is a short drive away with its endless white sandy beaches.
The South Down are close by with wonderful walks. Goodwood is just 10 minutes drives with the fantastic events that are offered throughout the summer including Glorious, The Revival and The Festival of Speed. There are lots of other summer events in the area with National Trust properties, open air concerts and festival and much more.
In all this is a fantastic area to visit.

Our children loved running around in the huge backyard and playing in the little playhouse. We enjoyed strolling along the Bosham Quay, looking for shells and rocks when the tide was out, crabbing and of course eating ice cream. All literally 5 minutes away from the house. Oyster's is set in a fantastic position overlooking Bosham Channel - it has one of the best views of the water in the village. Ideal for those keen on sailing, as Bosham is one of the premier sailing villages in the area, it will also appeal to people requiring a comfortable base from which to explore all the outstanding events in the area, such as the Goodwood motor sports events and horse racing at both Goodwood and Fontwell. The courtyard and terrace face the water and the house is adjacent to the famous old village pub, the Anchor Bleu. It is a great location for either winter or summer breaks.



The ground floor of Oysters has a large sitting room with a dining area with views over the water. There is also a well equipped kitchen featuring an AGA cooker, dishwasher and breakfast table. There is also a utility room which has a microwave and washing machine. On the first floor there is a double bedroom and 2 twin bedroom, each with views over the water. There are 2 bathrooms, one of which has a shower over the bath. Oysters has a terrace style garden with views directly over the water and is an ideal place to relax and watch the comings and goings along the waterfront.



Bosham is one of the most picturesque and historic villages in West Sussex, famous for being the rumoured site where King Canute unsuccessfully ordered the tide to retreat and for the Saxon Church which appears in the Bayeux tapestry. Bosham is now well known for its active sailing club, sitting on a pretty creek at the edge of the 30 miles of navigable channels of Chichester Harbour, an important wild life sanctury. To the north of the village is the station, with easy access to London Victoria via Chichester to the east and London Waterloo via Havant to the west. Links by road to the A27 to Brighton, the A3M to London via guildford and the M27 to Southampton are nearby.

Local attractions include Goodwood, with its stunning racecourse and motor racing circuit, Polo at Cowdray and the historic Cathedral city of Chichester, with wide variety of shopping and the renowned Festival Theatre.

The kitchen itself is very well equipped so guests can comfortably self cater for their stay including kettle, toaster, electric oven and electric hob, fridge and freezer, microwave and dishwasher. There is a separate utility room housing the washing machine, tumble drier, iron and ironing board, which guests are welcome to use.

Back along the hallway to the front of the house there is a double room and further twin room with a pull out trundle bed and a family bathroom. The last room is the master room with an en suite WC.

The garden wraps around the property giving guests plenty of privacy, immediately to the back of the house there is a patio with outside seating with the remainder of the garden being laid to lawn.

The hosts at Crede Close really have gone to a lot of trouble to make this a charming home from home.

Bosham is a beautiful sailing village on the edge of Chichester Harbour, there are beautiful coastal walks, In the village itself is Bosham Walk, a veritable Aladdin's cave of wonders created by local artists. The picturesque Anchor Bleu pub is on the waterfront and has a wonderful locally sourced menu, (though booking is advisable). Almost on your doorstep is The Berkeley Arms which is lovely and offers wonderful home cooked food.
There are many more pubs, restaurants and cafes in the nearby harbour village of Emsworth (also a great bakery called Heidi's) The larger, historic city of Chichester – home to the beautiful cathedral is well worth a visit.

If you want to venture a little further afield for a great day out, you can visit nearby Portsmouth Historic Dockyard or The Weald and Downland Museum, home of BBC's The Repair Shop. Both places are great fun for any age group. There is outlet shopping, cinema complex and bowling at Gunwharf Quays, which you can reach easily by car or train from Bosham. For something a little different, you can book seal watching boat trips from Hayling Island or hire kayaks from Emsworth Marina.

Access to the races and Goodwood Motor Circuit is easy from Bosham, making Elm lodge the perfect place to stay when you are attending The Festival of Speed, Glorious Goodwood, or The Revival.

The Millstream Hotel with it's 2 AA Rosette Sea School Restaurant (8 minute walk), and Marwick's are just a short stroll down towards the quay.

The Berkeley Arms Pub is a 5 minutes walk away back towards the main road.

Bosham Train Station: Trains from London Victoria to Chichester run every 30 minutes and take approximately 1.5 hour.

The ferry crosses to the historic sailing village of Itchenor, where you can grab lunch at The Ship Inn or The Quarterdeck Café, or take a Harbour Water Tour.

The space
We are very excited to welcome guests to our modern home in beautiful Bosham. It has been recently built and offers a great space for friends and families seeking a short break in Bosham. It sleeps up to 10 guests and is perfect for Goodwood events, being just 20 minutes away. It is just a short stroll to the harbour itself, and only 5 miles from Chichester.

This beautifully decorated home is bright and spacious and offers a welcoming space to gather with friends and family.

Enter the house into the large bright entrance hallway. The large kitchen-diner is on your left and boasts a large island, views onto the beautifully tended garden, and a bright dining area. Bifold doors allow you to access the garden, and enjoy alfresco meals on the patio.

The stylish sitting room can be accessed from both the dining area and the entrance hall. Large comfortable sofas and cosy armchairs offer a great place to relax and unwind after a busy day, and there is a large Smart TV (you will need to use your own logins to access the Apps). Bifold doors open up onto the garden and offer a longing seating area on this separate patio.

Upstairs are four bedrooms, all with king size beds, and all with ensuite bathrooms. Each bedroom has plenty of storage space.

The fifth bedroom is in the garden annexe, separate to the main house. This beautifully decorated annexe has a king sized bed in the large living area, as well as a bathroom and kitchenette, with huge 80 inch smart TV and air conditioning giving the guests who have this room a bit of independence from the main house.

You will have access to the whole home, annexe and garden. I won't be around in person, however, I have help managing my Airbnb by a local company. It is professionally cleaned and the linen and towels are replaced with professionally laundered supplies between each stay. Remote self check-in gives flexibility for late arrivals, and 24/7 guest support is on hand should you need any assistance during your stay.

There will be some complimentary tea, coffee and biscuits waiting for you which I am sure will be useful for those arriving after a long journey!
Fresh white bedding and towels are provided (hand towel and bath towel per person) as well as large eco firendly bottles of shampoo & shower gel, conditioner and hand soap. Other items provided during your stay are a washing-up pack, loo roll and kitchen roll. If more is needed, there is a Co-op less than a mile away.

The space
I am thrilled to welcome you to my family home, an original Arts and Crafts era house, located on Bosham Quay—one of the most idyllic spots on the South Coast—with spectacular views from every room.

Ground Floor:

As you come down the driveway and approach the house, immediately on your left, you will see the private slipway into the harbour, and there is parking for 5 cars. Enter through the front door into the kitchen area with original cabinetry from when the house was built. As you head down the hallway, on the left-hand side, there is a twin bedded room with views out to the harbour and quayside. There is a shower room and a separate WC downstairs. The sitting room, with its views of Quay Meadow and the harbour, is a charming room for spending time in or relaxing in front of the smart TV . Beyond the sitting room is the glazed dining room, which sits right on the harbour wall. This is a fabulous place to dine with friends and family as you watch the boats and sailing happening right there on the Bosham waterfront.

First Floor:

As you head up the original oak staircase to the landing, more spectacular views await you of the quayside and the sailing club. There are two single bedrooms, both with hand wash basins. There is a family bathroom, and further along are the two spacious super king bedrooms, one of which has an ensuite bathroom. There is plenty of storage for clothes.

Outside:

The garden runs along the harbour wall, and there is a private slipway for launching dinghies or kayaks. There are public footpaths right outside the property, which take you along the water's edge but are not accessible at high tide. Just outside the property is Quay Meadow, another lovely place to sit and watch the world go by, and Holy Trinity Church, which dates back to Saxon times and is depicted in the Bayeux Tapestry as the location where King Harold stayed before heading to Normandy. It is said that King Canute's daughter is buried in the church.

Guest access
There is parking for 5 cars at the property, 3 of which can be parked right outside the front door. There is a local bus service with stops nearby with buses to Chichester. It is advisable to have a car to get around as this is a rural location.

Other things to note
This is an old and special home with many period and original features. As such it may not suit those who are looking for modern or high tech amenities. We ask you to please have the utmost respect for the property and it's furnishings.

The Slip is an original Arts and Crafts house designed by the renowned G. Blair Imrie and T. Angell and built in the early 1900s. Whilst the building is well looked after it features the characteristics of an old building including the original Crittall windows which can be draughty in a gale.

The floors can be slippery when wet and it's best to keep external doors shut to prevent interior doors slamming in the sea breeze.

The property is surrounded by sea walls which children can easily climb on, they must be supervised at all times.

The Wi-Fi can be patchy in the house, but it's good in the sitting room and there is good 4G internet.
