This could go from renting a private room and bath or the entire home. There are actually 5 bedrooms but only three are set up as bedrooms the others are a sewing room and office.This is up to whatever the client desires. This home is on an acre of land with beautiful gardens with lovely indoor and outdoor spaces. All my friends say it looks like a Bed and Breakfast. There is master bedroom with a private balcony and 5 piece bath. The other two bedrooms share a bathroom. Very close to downtown Cleveland in the lovely community of Willoughby and Willoughby Hills. We are very near Lake Erie and Manakiki Golf Course is right across the street in the park-like setting of the home since the golf course used to be an old estate. You will love staying here and will not want to leave. Full access to kitchen with towels and all bedding provided. There are so many parks in the general area because the Cleveland area was built on a park system when it was created. The Cuyahoga National Forest is only 30 minutes away. The neighbourhood is all residential and everyone is friendly. The home itself is in a park-like setting too. There are three outdoor spaces for eating, talking or relaxing. There is a large front porch with overlooks the garden, an outdoor patio at the side which overlooks the meadow and ravine and an outdoor deck for eating with nature. Perfect for the spring and summer! You have access the entire home except the office and sewing room

The neighbourhood is charming. You are in a country setting but very near the highway and also the charming town of Willoughby with fabulous restaurants and shops and Sun Plum....a great farmers market open all year round for fresh vegetables, fruit and baked goods.
Getting around
There is no public transportation but everything is easily accessible by car and great biking in the summer. Very near two metro for walking and one for golf which is right across the street from the house and is a public course.

Great for adults but no children, pets or smoking. Completely open floor plan with outside space to enjoy the outdoors in the summer and beautiful nature in the winter. For people who know the area, this is right next door to Strawberry Cottage and Strawberry Cottage Too with the same owners. Everything is newly renovated with all new appliances, kitchen and bathrooms.

There is a beautiful outside space for the summer with vintage wicker and rod iron furniture which faces the woods. You have your own entrance and place to park. This cottage is behind a main house but is not attached to the main house. It is perfect for one or two adults but no more. Looking for a retreat to get away from the hustle-n-bustle of the day-to-day? Our Willow Woods Retreat is the place! A completely renovated 1830's farmhouse set on 4 acres of land, you will be set in a beautifully secluded location historic Kirtland! We look forward to hosting you!

The Space:
The house was built in 1834 and still features a lot of the old style vintage charm, yet is updated so you can enjoy a comfortable stay!

With room for 8, this is the perfect place for families or groups of friends to get together for a fun and relaxing getaway! Fully stocked kitchen is great for cooking up meals to enjoy at our large dining table. The living room is spacious and comfortable and the master bathroom, with a jet tub and sky light above is the epitome of serenity.

Note that the single bed in the queen bedroom is a trundle bed.

The real highlight at our retreat house is the outdoor space. A full paver stone patio right off the back of the house, with seating for all and a gas grill it provides the perfect place to enjoy a cookout or some drinks by the fire. Add in the Evergreen Pond out back and you really get a chance getaway for a bit.

- "The pond behind this home was amazing and gorgeous. The chairs and tables were nice for outdoor dinners. The outdoor grass areas were fun to run and play tag in. Inside—spacious rooms, nice kitchen, fun Victorina decor. Beds were comfortable, had plenty tu of extra blankets for our large family of 7 (this property sleeps 8 comfortably). The trundle bed room (queen with trundle underneath) hooks to the master bathroom through a funky hidden door. Foosball was fun. We did run out of hot water the first night; we were running the dishwasher and hot water in the clothes washer and then took hot showers. That was not a very big issue though! We waited 30 minutes, tried again, and had enough. If we go to kirtland again, we would stay there again for sure!"

There are external security cameras onsite for the safety and security of the property and our guests. The cameras are facing the front yard and back yard and record audio and video 24/7. Any tampering, covering or disabling of the cameras may be grounds for immediate termination of the rental agreement.

There are 2 steps up into the home. All the rooms, except for bedrooms 2 and 3, are on the first floor. There is no basement. The 3rd bedroom has a twin trundle bed that can be transformed to a queen by raising the trundle twin. There is a fenced in backyard, perfect for your pups. Parking in the driveway can accommodate 2 vehicles.

An additional seasonal Bunk House with 2 twin beds provides extra flexibility. You will enjoy a fire pit, a bonfire overlooking the lake, boat rides, paddle boat, horseshoe, and walks around the property! The barn also features many activities and games; such as, ping pong, corn hole, darts, and much more! Your stay will start with the resort like bedding allowing you to be refreshed and relaxed in each of the five bedrooms. The kitchen is fully stocked with accessories and utensils for all of your needs!
Walking out to the comfortable porch with your coffee while overlooking the patio, fire pit, backyard and lake will give you a view that, as some of our guests have described as 'Magical'!

Taking a walk around the lake is always enjoyable, but for the more adventurous--you may want to jump in the paddle boat or row around the island in the rowboat!!

Of course, another option is to simply sit around the bonfire and enjoy the sunsets and activity on the lake.

All of this is meant to allow you to engage with family and friends--to get away from the hustle and bustle. Rest and relax at Merrybook Farm!

But there is more! Don't forget the amazing fire pit on the patio--it really kicks out some serious heat (so read the instructions before lighting it! :)

Oh--The Barn!!! This is where the fun continues!
We have games, corn hole, ping pong and more! It is a fun place to just go and relax and enjoy the old-style architecture--listen to music, read a book or just be together.

And lastly...The Bunk House! Most people think it is just a little shed, but upon opening the door, you will find a cute little country garden cottage with 2 single beds and dressers. A fun adventure awaits as you bunk in this seasonal bedroom space.

BRAND NEW! Enjoy gorgeous lake views and breezes while making memories with family and friends in this totally renovated 1920's cottage. This is NOT on the lake. It is a Lakeview across the street. A private back yard includes a picnic table, fire-pit and 2 bikes.

The open concept space is great for entertaining family and friends with 50" HDTV TV in the main living space. Start your day at the coffee bar, and end it at the large granite island with dinner in the modern high end kitchen featuring a new gas stove, dishwasher, fridge and microwave should you chose to stay in rather than go out to one of the many fine restaurants. 2 private bedrooms with TV's. The luxury bathroom has a beautiful walk-in shower and double sink vanity.

You will love the proximity to 2 lakefront parks, several restaurants and bars in walking distance, and the 7 minute car ride to historic Downtown Willoughby with its many restaurants, bars, live music venues, art galleries and boutiques.

- "Our first day we saw a deer in the yard and there were a lot of trees. We enjoyed our stay, but the bathrooms really need something. They were very small and the toilet on the top of this stair landing was a little dangerous for elderly people. I wouldn’t recommend for children as there is a drop off in the back could also use an extra light in the back after taking the garbage out I went around back and fell over a rock by the sidewalk. Couch also needs replacing. Just some recommendations as a VRBO renter. Nice gift from the host and it was clean but worn. We still enjoyed our stay coming for the eclipse."
