- "My daughters and I along with their spouses had a wonderful weekend at the Cuyahoga Falls National Park VRBO. The accommodations were not fancy but they were comfortable. The ceiling of the loft is sloped and only about 6 feet high at its peak. So, it’s good for kids but taller adults will have to “stay low” if they stay in the loft. " - "We all wanted to be together for College graduation. This worked out great.Definitely recommend!"

- "This charming old house is conveniently located with loads of amenities. The host was very responsive and kind." - "I sought after a rental home for a long weekend that would allow me to visit with family. I loved the location of this charming home! It was perfect for my mom and son to join me for a bite at the two local restaurants, followed by a hike on the towpath. There were a few things I had to contact the owner on and he was very responsive and helpful. The house is definitely historic, which I love! Be prepared for creaky floors and the dings and dents that come with age. However, very comfortable, the HVAC kept up during my first day which was near 90 degrees, and the home was well stocked with everything you could need. My favorite was the sanitizer wipes. I always like to wipe down light switches, pull knobs etc. The beds were comfy and the furniture in the house was well appointed. I always like to share positive and any downsides for future rental seekers. It’s tough to label anything as negative but if I had to, I’d say the parking could be troublesome if you have more than two cars. We maneuvered one afternoon when both my mom and son stopped by. It’s doable. The basement, like in any older home, has some moisture which you can smell as you enter the home. We did arrive after a huge rain so this may not even be a thing typically. I’m thankful when people keep the historic charm alive in homes like these. I’m even more thankful when people share them! Kudos to Paul for doing both. Thanks!"

This beautifully renovated 1874 Colonial is located in historic Peninsula and offers the best of the past and the present. We are nestled deep in the heart of the scenic Cuyahoga Valley National Park, which means the serenity and grandeur of nature is right at your doorstep!
Upon arrival, open the french doors of "The Blue Hen” and walk into the double parlor of this charming retreat. Select one of the uniquely beautiful, specially designed bedrooms - each with their own private, modern bathrooms - for your stay. Utilize the full kitchen to prepare home cooked meals and enjoy them in the elegant dining room or out on the veranda shaded by wisteria flowers. Enjoy a picnic outside on the grounds or relax in one of the soft leather armchairs in the sitting room and play one of our board games with family and friends. Settle in for the evening and select a good book from the Inn’s collection, or surf the web or watch a little television.
You will find every room in The Blue Hen, including all four bathrooms and kitchen, impeccably clean and sanitary, professionally cleaned after every guest.
In the morning, stroll right down the sidewalk to downtown Peninsula and explore this quintessential “one stoplight town”. After you hike the trails, bike the towpath (bike rental right in town), or ski at Boston Mills to your hearts content, take in some live music at the intimate GAR music hall. In the morning, enjoy a tasty breakfast, lunch or dinner at Fisher’s Cafe, take an art class at the Peninsula Art Academy, check out the unique shops in town (including our fav the gourmet popcorn shop), and wrap up your day enjoying a craft beer and wings at the Winking Lizard.
WE’RE IN THE MIDDLE OF EVERYTHING!!
Even more options await you a short drive or Uber away. Head west and within a 10 minute drive you will find a Buddhist, Sikh, and Hindu Temple. Visit all three to find inner peace and a spiritual calm to balm your hectic daily life. Stop at Country Made Ice Cream for the best ice cream anywhere, or take a quick dip in The Quarry, a unique, natural swimming hole right down the road from The Blue Hen.
Go east and in 10 minutes you will be in the town of Hudson, which has excellent renowned restaurants, a Heinens grocery store, and a wide variety of shops. You will find everything from women’s high fashion clothing to a charming old bookstore to a classic board games shop. You will also find a gastric pub and an exceptional wine cellar restaurant.
Drive north and in two miles you will be able to enjoy skiing, snowboarding, and tubing at Boston Mills / Brandywine Ski Resort.
Head south and in 12 minutes you will find Hale Farm and Village, as well as Blossom Music Center where you can hear a variety of musical artists, including the world renowned Cleveland Orchestra. Drive a little further to experience the impressive Stan Hewet hall.
Peninsula is truly a destination you will want to explore year after year, and we hope that you will allow us to host your amazing experience in the Valley!
Please Note: The Blue Hen is strictly an inn - not a bed and breakfast. As such, you will always find plenty of complimentary coffee, tea and condiments in the kitchen, but we do not serve breakfast.
Please note: WE DO NOT ALLOW WEDDINGS OR PARTIES, though small, sedate family and friend gatherings are certainly welcome.
- "We had a sibling reunion in Peninsula. There were four couples, so we each had our own bedroom. The rooms (although two were on the small side) were clean and comfortable each with their own bathrooms. The kitchen was very functional and the dining room easily accommodated all of us. The common areas were comfortable and the amenities such as books, games, and area info were plentiful. The laundry is a great bonus. The location can't be beat as it is a short walk to the restaurants and shops in Peninsula as well as easy access to the national park. The hosts were very communicative and took care of the one very minor issue we had promptly. One thing to be aware of is that the only bathrooms in the house are those associated with the bedrooms, so no common area half bath on the first floor or the like."

We highly recommend and look forward to returning when we are back in this area again." - "Excellent VRBO! Every detail was perfect- super clean, comfy bed, high quality pillows, plenty of towels, a well stocked kitchen… even a welcome basket with an hand written note- incredibly charming home and host! Brought my middle school son who’s been working hard at school and his friend up from the C-bus area to explore a new ski place and we even had time to hike in the national park. We enjoyed playing board games and relaxing at the house in the evenings. The boys loved the trail and waterfall to explore and even found a fossil."

- "We had a wonderful stay at this new cabin in the park. Idyllic setting in the woods and had all of the modern amenities you need for a relaxing vacation. Would love to stay again!" - "Beautiful environment. Super friendly hosts!" - "Very nice cabin in the forest…Wi-Fi and cell service….with a full kitchen. This very nice property met all of our needs. Thanks for the great stay!" - "We were happy to find a great little cabin to stay in on such short notice for a spur of the moment long weekend! The cabin was perfect for our family. When we were at the cabin and not out exploring we enjoyed sitting on the beautiful deck and having a fire in the firepit. We LOVED the porch swing!!! It was a great place to relax at all hours of the day. A perfect place to sit in the morning and birdwatch and listen to all the warblers and thrushes, take a nap in the afternoon, or read a good book at any time. We explored many places in the National Park, including the Canal Exploration Center, the Boston Mill Visitor Center, the Beaver Marsh (our favorite!), Brandywine Falls, Ledges, and Cuyahoga Valley Scenic Railroad, and they were all within a 15 minute drive. The kitchen came stocked with everything needed except kitchen towels. Some of us are light sleepers and would have preferred blinds on all the windows including the small ones above the beds. That is a very minor thing though and we would definitely love to stay again! Thank you for a lovely long weekend!"

Check out local restaurants in the historic village of Peninsula, just 4 miles to our north. Hop on your bike and take the Towpath Trail as far north as Cleveland or south to Akron. Enjoy local restaurants, breweries, farm markets and more!
We're a half-mile from the Ohio and Erie Canal Towpath Trail, great for biking to local destinations to the north and south. Free parking is available at many trailheads in the National Park. Street parking in the Village of Peninsula is paid via phone. Ride sharing availability can be limited, so we recommend planning your own transportation. Walking to Blossom Music Center is neither practical nor recommended. On some evenings, concerts at our neighbor, Blossom Music Center may be audible. The farm across the street utilizes propane canons during the day for a few weeks out of the year to deter birds from eating their corn. Plan to bring a flashlight, as it can get dark in the woods! We use security cameras to monitor our driveway; there are no recording devices of any kind inside or pointed directly at any living space.
- "Super clean and neat. Grill, fire pit. Close to great hiking trails." - "Our family of 4 was excited to stay in this cabin for our visit to Cuyahoga NP. The location was great, with an easy drive to several trailheads, and not too far to restaurants and stores. The cabin was thoughtfully designed, with plenty of space to store and hang our belongings. We liked having two bathrooms so multiple people could get ready at a time. Towels and washcloths were provided, bring your own shampoo and soap. We didn't cook at all on this visit, but the kitchen had everything needed for a few meals, and there was an outdoor grill as well. The porch was great, and the swing was a nice addition, but bugs were pretty annoying, so bring a citronella candle or bug spray. We would definitely stay here again!"

The tent itself was cozy and cute and included everything you could need during your stay. There were even two heated blankets on the bed (I stayed during a colder month). The tents were clearly labeled making ours easy to find, and it had a cute seating area on the porch. The host responded extremely quickly to my messages. The campground is close to a farm market and CVNP. I would absolutely stay here again."

- "Loved the unique comfirt of camping. Very nice management aswell." - "This place was so nice! Very cute, updated, clean. Nice bathrooms and grounds. We had stayed in one of the tents which had a comfy bed and cute porch/lights. Perfect for a little night or two away! My only negative was that some of the tents are a little close together. If we were trying to go for a full camping experience (like sitting out by the fire etc), it may have felt like we were a bit cramped. "

The Hudson Farmhouse – A Retreat on the Edge of Cuyahoga Valley National Park
Welcome to The Farmhouse on Olde Eight, a spacious, welcoming home in Hudson, Ohio, now available for the first time. Sitting on 12 acres within 2 miles of the Cuyahoga Valley National Park, this 1930s family property is ideal for reunions, milestone celebrations, or quiet escapes into nature.
The home comfortably sleeps 16 and includes a large bunk room perfect for kids or group stays. You’ll enjoy gathering in the quaint kitchen and dining area, relaxing in the spacious family room, and watching deer wander through the yard from the back porch. The Farmhouse shares its scenic acreage with The Cottage and The Carriage House, two separate dwellings also maintained by our family.
Over the past five years, we’ve been lovingly restoring the farmhouse, reviving its character and updating it with care. All photos are current, and what you see is exactly what you'll experience. That said, we’re still mid-journey. Projects like new windows, a refreshed and expanded kitchen, a repaved driveway, and power restored to the original barn are all in the works. We’re restoring it with care, and while not every detail is finished, the heart of the home is very much alive. If you fall in love with it, come back next year and see what’s new. We’d love to have you along for the ride.

The Brupoppy Farm & Stay is located in the heart of Boston Heights Ohio. It is a small farm with almost 8 acres. It is .5 miles away from Brandywine Falls. Close to Blossom Music Center and a couple miles down the street from Boston Mills Ski Resort. We are 25 miles to Cleveland, 15 minutes from Akron and easily accessible to all highways. The property has a hot tub, 2 Tiki bars, patio and a deck. It has a gourmet kitchen, full bath, two bedrooms with a King, queen and twin. A professional massage chair sits in the King suite for long days on the trails. Also our cancellation rate looks high, only because during the eclipe we got double booked and kept the first one even though the second one was for more $$ on this site. Our stay is open 100% all year round so rest assured if you get a booking, it will be kept.
