The house is part of the private Borgo, with its first documented history dating back to 1522, and is nestled on the grounds of an ancient castle. It consists of three country houses: Villa la Maclura, Il Gombo, and a private house for our family. Each house features a pool, garden, chill-out area, BBQ, entrance, and parking space. The villa boasts three bedrooms, two bathrooms, one lounge, one lounge-diner, one smaller lounge/bedroom with total privacy, one large kitchen, and one utility room, spread over two levels (150 sq m). The villa's ground floor and first floor are exclusively for guests. At the same time, my husband, Riccardo, and I will stay in the attic of this house from time to time, but especially during the high season, to provide you with steady yet discreet assistance with all your needs, including garden maintenance, pool monitoring, irrigation, and appliance maintenance.
We recently installed air conditioning in the south bedrooms on the first floor for your comfort. The north bedroom has a large, elegant ceiling fan with wooden blades. We have also fitted all bedroom windows with mosquito nets to ensure a peaceful and undisturbed sleep.
Outside, you'll find a BBQ on the terrace garden at the ground floor level, perfect for al fresco dining. There's another BBQ in the large garden below, just a stone's throw from the private (exclusively for you) SPA. The outdoor area is fully equipped with comfortable garden furniture, inviting you to relax and enjoy the peaceful surroundings.

*Due to technical reasons, bookings between March 31 and May 17, 2026, must be made seven days in advance.
*Villa La Nicchia is part of a single property, the ancient Borgo of the family castle; it includes three detached but nearby houses and is 5.5 km from the center of Alassio. You can reach it via a typical Ligurian road with two lanes and multiple curves, except for the last 1.2 km, which is narrower due to the terrain.
*The SPA, a private and relaxing feature, is generally unavailable from late October to late March/mid-April because the heating pump cannot warm the water to 30° if outside temperatures are below 15°, especially at night. However, we encourage you to ask about the current status, as climate change and recent unusual weather patterns may influence SPA availability in spring.
*Reading and observing the house rules are part of the rental agreement. You will receive both before your arrival.
*We are flexible on many matters, especially regarding the two additional fees you pay as you go. One is the additional fee for good LPG heating (1), which we cannot estimate in advance. We will calculate the consumption together on the morning of departure; the cost is likely to be around €5.50 per m³.
The other concerns the final cleaning fee (2), which is not shown in the website payment summary because it depends on the number of guests and the number of nights stayed. The minimum fee is €100, and the maximum is €160, payable on the morning of departure. The Tourist Tax is €1.50 per person per night. They are warm and welcoming and quick to answer our questions of fix something if it was broken. They respected our privacy and made us feel good. They have adapted the interior to the old house. We think a little less stuff would enhance the strenght of the building even more. Outside everything was great: the garden, the spa and the area that is perfect for beautiful walks. In moglio there is a bakery with delicious crackers called Chiappe. The car is really a must to discocer beautiful places such as Alassio, Cervo and Albenga. Villa Il Frantoio is a very large country house dating back to the 16th century. In ancient times it was an olive pressing surrounded by extensive olive groves and vineyards. Now it is a modern villa , very spacious , comfortable and beautifully restored, ideal for a family or group of friends. A heavy wooden gate opens onto the terrace furnished with sun loungers. The flowered garden overlooks the private swimming pool. Our Villa is on top of the restaurant pizzeria when you can taste delicious italian pizza,meat,fish and a lot of desserts made by the owners of the pizzeria..
Inside, the living space with a very well equipped kitchen and a comfortable living room with fireplace, flat - screenTV and dining table; each of the three bedrooms have TV and their own bathroom.
But the must is the" salt water swimming pool", you can lie on a deck-chair and relax enjoying a fabulous glass of wine or reading a fantastic book!

Villa Il Frantoio is situated in Toirano, an enchanting Medieval village on the hills , in Liguria, Riviera di Ponente, 5 km from the Mediterranean sea and from Loano, province of Savona, not far from the French border. This small village is completely surrounded by town walls, with gates, loggias and bridges. It is famous for the 'Grotte': in the calcareous mountainous area caves were discovered traces of human and animal life dating back to Neolithic times, 12,000 years ago. Very interesting are the hand and foot prints from Neanderthals. The 50 rooms open to the public are a must!

Toirano is in an excellent strategic position. There is plenty to see in the area, in a few minutes’ drive you arrive at the beaches of Loano, a lively town with beautiful restored pastel coloured facades, a long promenade with flower beds and palm trees and lots of trendy shops . You can also alternate days by the sea with walks or biking on the hills.
Along the seaside numerous little towns and villages attract the guests as the beaches are never ending and sandy. You can’t miss Borghetto , once a small fishing harbour; Finale Ligure, a paradise for rock climbing, a must, San Remo, casino and flowers; Ventimiglia Hanbury’s gardens; Genua. Hop over the French border to Nice, St. Tropez, Cannes, Monte Carlo: a week is too short to savour the surroundings and if you are here in October-November visit Alba when white truffles are harvested!

Villa Il Frantoio is a all year round holiday place. Due to the climate there are lots of lemon and orange trees and flowers grow everywhere. Springtime starts in February with hills covered with blossoming yellow mimosa. Summers are mildly warm and there is a pleasant breeze. In winter Italian Riviera is blessed with a temperate, dry climate . Because of this it was “discovered” by the English one century ago and many people spend winters in this area to get away from the cold and freezing weather of the North. Even on Christmas day you can have your lunch outside.

What about food? Do not forget to savour the local genuine cuisine: 'trenette al pesto' , 'pansotti' herbs and ricotta, 'torta pasqualina' and 'violino di capra', a goat ham as soft as a violin. And also local wines make your stroll in town a tempting adventure.

- "It was a pleasure being there" - "Superb villa that was much larger than we expected, with a nice pool and grounds. It is attached to a pizzeria that is effectively part of the same huge, old building that has been tastefully converted and although some low level noise can be heard when it is open it was never a problem and actually added to the charm of the place (and the pizzeria itself is very nice with friendly staff). There is a very convenient small supermarket nearby and the attractive town centre of Toirano is also just a short walk away. The villa manager Camilla was very helpful and a small problem with the wifi router was quickly resolved. It is a lovely place to just relax by the pool or a short drive to a number of very nice towns. Imperia was our favourite and we also took the train to Genoa and drove across the border to Monaco for day trips. The Toirano caves that are located in the hills close by must also be seen as they are absolutely stunning. We had a great time."

The Guest can use the entire first floor flat of the villa, and outdoor directly outside the door and area approaching the house. Parking is just outside the house and it is free.

- "The villa has a beautiful view over Orco Feglino with Monte Cucco in the distance, it is really easy to find from the motorway taking the Feglino exit. The host was extremely friendly and since there was no guest staying the night before we arrived, we were even able to check in before noon. There’s plenty of space, inside and outside and we didn’t miss a thing. The kitchen is well equipped, unlike some other places we have stayed before, even if we didn’t make much use of it. The host even offered to make a BBQ, but since we spent most of the day climbing, we didn’t find time for a BBQ. Everything else in the house was just as expected and very comfortable. Departing was just as straightforward, we backed our stuff, said farewell and were off, no hassle at all. Since we didn’t manage to climb all the crags we intended to, we will definitely return and this will be our first choice for accommodation!"

Magnificent villa of the end 600 newly renovated keeping its old style but comfortable, perfect for a large family or two families.
The villa is situated in a high position, isolated surrounded by olives tree, from the loggia you enter the house, entering there is a large living room, which communicates through a beautiful arch to the kitchen with adjoining dining room, on the ground floor there is also a small living room with a television and fireplace. Going up the stairs you come to a first floor mezzanine with a double bedroom and bathroom with shower to the same floor there is a laundry room and room for a housemaid.
On the first floor there are 5 independent bedrooms
The master bedroom with ensuite bathroom and terrace with view, two double bedrooms, one with a large terrace, a children's room with four single beds, a small room with a bed and a bathroom with a double shower that serves the rooms.
In front of the villa there is a beautiful Italian garden with space to dine, bbq and valley views, all around the villa there are beautiful bands cultivated with olive trees.
The beach is 1 km away, the sea is very clean and we can reserve for you at the beach resort cabin and deck chairs.
The town of Finale Ligure is very picturesque and extends up to the medieval village of Final Borgo with great selection of excellent restaurants. Also nearby is full of easy-to-reach places that offer different activities by visiting the
Verezzi caves, walk in Varigotti ancient village by the sea, and much more.

- "A fantastic house with a great view and a fantastic terrace. Is it no problem to stay 12 people here. Kitchen is big enough and there are enough showers and toilets. The host was very kind to us." - "The house was very clean, spacious, and comfortable. It sits high on a hill, which provides a great view. We loved having the outdoor space in front of the house! And we also enjoyed the fact that the home was on the outskirts of town and in a quiet area, but at the same time the house is close enough to town that you walk almost anywhere in Finale Ligure in 10 or 15 minutes. We did not understand that it was a townhome with neighbors on either side when we arrived, but we barely saw or heard the neighbors and all interactions with them were very pleasant. We would recommend this home and would be excited to stay here again in the future. It is a great place!"
