Parking Information:
• One paid parking pass is provided in the welcome book for a nearby lot located directly across from Huck’s on Madison Ave. The lot and parking spaces are clearly marked. Please remember to return the pass to the table upon checkout.
• Street parking on the Square has a 2-hour limit during business hours (typically 8 AM – 6 PM, M-F), and this is strictly enforced. Outside of these hours, parking is not monitored.
• Overnight parking on the Square is not permitted on Tuesday evenings.
• Parking on the downtown Square is blocked on Saturday mornings from May through October for the Farmers Market. During this period, overnight parking on Friday evenings is not recommended.
• 24-hour on-street parking is available at 9th & Monroe.
• Please be aware that the downtown Square uses one-way streets—drive carefully and follow posted signs.

- "The only instruction to pick up the key was to pick it up at the office, and if there was any trouble after hours, to call the maintenance man. I arrived at 11pm due to traffic delays, and the office was locked with no instruction on how to get the key. I made several calls and texts each to the host and the maintenance man. 30 minutes later, the host texted back saying the maintenence man was asleep, and she apologized for my inconvenience. Because it was the state track championship that weekend, no hotels had availability in the area. At 1am I found a Super 8 in Matoon, about 20 minutes away, that had a room. The host refunded me for the one night and she gave me instructions on how to get the key the following day, this time with a code to the door to get the key if it was after-hours (which of course should have been provided in the first place). I stayed there one night and it was great once I was able to get in. We ended up leaving a day early. The apartment was spacious and comfortable with coffee which was nice, decorated nicely. Listing should have instructions for after hours checking in."

Has a private bath (large tub), 6'5" built-in twin bed, kitchenette (frig, sink, microwave, coffee maker) coffee-tea provided. 3 doors from Peterson Park, 2 blocks from girls/Jr. football complex, near numerous restaurants. No contact check-in available.

Park in front of Selvidge Chiropractic, 608 Broadway, Mattoon, Il. Enter fence gate with flag on it. Take board walk about 90' to white door. Put in code (sent to you), enter foyer, Airbnb is on the right. Take key, leave key in door when you check out.
Come and go as you like. Back yard has firepit, double swing, City Park 2 doors away.

Located in the heart of the Illinois countryside in Charleston, our home is situated halfway between O'Brien Field (EIU) and the historic downtown square. This gorgeous designer's home and owner's suite was built in 1968 and offers a truly unique getaway. Our spacious home includes a 2-story stone wall, oversized windows, spiral staircase, game hall, billiard room, 100% cedar walk-in closet, sunken tub/shower in master and decorative antique cast iron fireplace.

Self-check-in details will be sent to guests one day prior to the check-in date/time. Access is through a private entrance and check-in/out is contactless.

Please note that this retro designers space was built in 1968 and is in a state of continual restoration to maintain the integrity of the original structure and design. We appreciate your understanding that not all features are accessible at the moment. As of Spring/Summer 2024, the following items are either unavailable or out of service:
*indoor grill
*indoor fireplace
*top floor outdoor balcony
*there are no TV's in the home (we do provide WiFi access - details in welcome book inside home)
*there is no washer/dryer inside of the home
*the second oven does not function. One oven works well.

Please also note that this home is not suitable for children. Many of the home's features are not kid-friendly.
