If your unscheduled late checkout exceeds two hours we will charge your for an additional day. This does not award you possession of the property for an additional day, it is a penalty assessed for holding up our next guest and preventing our housekeeping team from doing their jobs.

This additional day charge is the BASE RATE of the room without discounts that may have been applied. The occupancy limit for this property is 4 and any additional guest on the property will be automatically vacated for trespassing.

Broken, damaged, or missing items may result in additional charges.

Please acknowledge that occasionally, we may leave consumables such as condiments or snacks. These are free and please indulge yourself to your desire. HOWEVER, ultimately, it is up to the guests' discretion and inspection to consume these items if they wish. The host does not take any responsibility for the consumables or any allergies that the guest might have.

The studio is on our property but we value our own privacy as well as yours. We are here should you need anything but will give you as much space as you like. With the self check-in there will be no need to engage should you prefer to be incognito :-)

Our "neighborhood" is a small group of houses all set on over 5 acres on the south edge of Bloomington/Normal. Peaceful, calm and quiet is what we love best about our home. Your private studio shares our driveway but includes a small sitting area outside for your own use as well as access to some of the grounds to walk and enjoy the nature. Just minutes from anything in Bloomington/Normal you can experience privacy and convenience in our comfortable studio.

Parking for two vehicles directly in front of the studio. Additional space is available upon request. Just 5 minutes to state farm, 8 minutes to downtown Bloomington, 15 minutes to Rivian, 15 minutes to ISU, 10 minutes to US Cellular Coliseum.

The SW grounds are available for you to explore. The studio sits on 5 acres with a small creek at the back side, a small walnut grove and quiet streets for a nice walk. The pool area, shop building and main house are not available for guest use. The main house is adjacent to the studio parking area but is situated such that there is typically very minimal contact with us. Should you need anything though we are just a text or email away!

There are two dogs on property, one small and one medium size. They are both VERY friendly and will greet you with great enthusiasm. If you are uncomfortable with dogs please let us know and we will work with you to keep you comfortable during your stay. They are typically contained if we are off property but they do have an invisible boundary around the entire property and sometimes have free access to the entire grounds.

The kitchen was stocked with all the necessities and the bathroom even had some extra toliteries if you forgot soap etc. Very spacious for a two bedroom apartment! Little disappointed the listing said there was a hot tub but that meant there was a "tub" in the bathroom. The listing was also suppose to be for the first floor apartment and we were notified the day of check-in that we would be on the third floor due to plumbing issues in the other apartment. The communication with the hostess was great as well! Overall, we enjoyed our stay and look forward to hopefully staying here again next year. "

The bathroom with spacious shower is just off of the full kitchen.

Two guests maximum. This apartment is in the basement of a home. It is likely there will be other guests staying upstairs, just like any other apartment. There is one bedroom with one queen bed and it’s own master bath. A half bath is also available for additional guests. There is one pull out sofa in the living room and one queen air mattress available as well. This is a second story apartment, stairs are seen in photos. There is keyless entry to the stairwell as well as to the unit. There is designated free parking and a large covered outdoor porch equipped with a grill and seating. There are security cameras at the entry of the stairwell and exterior of the building. These are used to monitor guest numbers, pets, etc. It is important to us that this is a cozy, comfortable, quite space for our guest.

You will access the unit via a stairwell located located behind a locked door on small side porch of unit. The apartment is at the top of the stairs the Door On The Right marked “Steeple View” . The door on the left is a private residence, the Tenants are quite and respectful, please do not enter or disturb.

Lincoln's Loft - The Speakeasy Suite is a beautifully renovated street level apartment in downtown Lincoln, IL that was completed in April of 2019. With a hidden entrance behind a bookcase entry, Lincoln's Loft lower suite is an experience in itself. This historically renovated space is a prime location for entertaining your group downtown, a romantic weekend, friends getaway, or wedding party gathering.

The space
The space features a large, open concept layout with a great room comprised of a fully equipped kitchen and a living space with two couches, one that pulls out into a queen bed for added guests. The highlight of the main room is the entertaining area with a 60" flat screen TV and ample seating with two full size couches, an authentic farmhouse table and a repurposed bar that was originally a section of a church choir loft that was salvage on DIY Networks Season 1 of "Salvage Dogs". The unit features historical elements with a beautifully exposed brick wall and the original stamped 18 ft tin ceilings, As you walk into the unit it will be hard to miss the spiral staircase that leads to the secondary lofted bedroom above the private bedroom that has 2 queen beds. Through the reclaimed sliding door, you will find the master bedroom that has a queen size bed, a dresser, suitcase stand and clothing rack for your belongings. Down the hallway from the kitchen you will find a copper countertop that can be used as a desk space to get work done while traveling for business, or even a makeup counter for a family or bridal party. This unit is located inside a historically preserved property with the original stamped tin ceiling, there is a possibility of hearing footsteps from the Lincoln's Loft Derby suite above when both units are occupied.

On occasion, we can accommodate early check-in and late check-out. The fee is $10 an hour, paid in advance. If you are interested, please reach out to us to check for availability.

There is an Amtrak train station 3 blocks from Lincoln’s Loft. The train does come through at nighttime and does blow its horn. Some conductors are more overzealous in their horn usage than others. Some are very kind and only blow the horn 1 or 2 times. You may hear it. It has been a frequent discussion in city counsel meetings, but the majority of the townspeople agree that safety should come first and the train horn is there to ensure the track is clear.

Lincoln's Loft - Hawthorne suite is a beautifully renovated, 1600 sq ft, street level apartment in downtown Lincoln, IL that was completed in March of 2021. Lincoln's Loft - Hawthorne Suite is an experience in itself. Decorated to emulate the untouchables, Eliot Ness’ office where they worked to track and convict Al Capone. This historically renovated space is a prime location for entertaining your group downtown, quiet family getaway, or a friends weekend.

The space
The space features a large, open concept layout with a great room comprised of a fully equipped kitchen, dining area that sits 4 people, and a living space with two couches. The unit features historical elements with a beautiful original stamped 18 ft tin ceilings. As you walk into the unit it will be hard to miss the staircase that leads to the secondary lofted livingroom above the private bedrooms. In the loft area there is a half bath, 2 sofa's and a large siting chair with ottoman, a 50 inch TV and a dresser full of board games, along with a poker table and 2 twin beds with a dresser. Back downstairs and down the hallway, the first set of double doors you will find the master bedroom that has 2 queen size beds, and 3 side tables., along with places to hang your clothes. The second set of double doors leads to another bedroom with a queen size bed, large lighted closet, and a full laundry facility. Further down the hall is a "selfie area" with the original brick halls exposed and ample lighting for pictures that will last a lifetime, along with the full bath with a 36 inch vanity and 4 foot shower with a glass enclosure.
This unit is located inside a historically preserved property with the original stamped tin ceiling, there is a possibility of hearing footsteps from the Lincoln's Loft unit above when both units are occupied.
