Beautifully designed space. Very relaxing layout with all the amenities of home. Minutes from Oak Park Arts district. A quick 3 minute walk to public transportation or a major highway to access downtown Chicago or all that Oak Park has to offer. We are a couple of blocks away from 2 parks. There is a public golf course 5 minutes from the unit. We are close to many restaurants and North Riverside shopping mall is only 10 minutes away! There are stairs to the 2nd floor so if you have challenges going up stairs I suggest you consider a more accessible unit. We look forward to your stay! Welcome home.

- "The unit was beautiful. The 2nd bedroom is not a traditional bdrm, JD was very creative in how he used the space in the unit. We liked it! The location was good for our needs. There is street parking and like many Chicago neighborhoods it can be the luck of the draw finding a spot to ones specific needs, which isnt a problem for me. JD was accomodating with us having an additional guest and moved us to a larger unit/ bldg a few blocks aways just as the 1st place the 2nd was great. The nieghborhoods as many restaurants. I felt safe walking late at night when I had to park a couple blocks away. At times we found a spot right outside the bldg and other times we got a spot 1-3blocks away. I definitly JD's units on the books for a return stay."

The kitchen had everything you would want and we made use of making breakfast and lunches there while my daughters were at a music festival at SeekGeat stadium. It is very close to public transportation - about a block walk to the 307 bus line. The JewelOsco is right across the street which made for easy shopping. Just a short walk to Starbucks, Dunkin’ and restaurants made for a nice walk and beautiful mornings to eat outside on the table and chairs after we would take our food back to the house. The living room is comfortable and easily had room for all 3 of us to sit and watch TV. The neighborhood is cute and feels very safe. When coming in at night, the outdoor lights were all lit and made it safe parking in the alley. I also was very thankful to negotiate a late check out.The only negative thing - it says it is a single floor ‘apartment’, which is accurate when you know that there is someone living upstairs. My daughters were a little uneasy about that and we only found out after we read the hosts message the day that we were checking in. However, we never heard or saw the man upstairs, so it all worked out fine."

Baby and child items:
We also have a high end high chair, play pen, baby monitor and stroller as well so you don’t have to worry about those things when you travel. Please let us know if you would like us to have these items ready for your stay.

Pets: Are allowed for a fee only if they are housebroken. FYI there is no yard for the pet to play in they will have to be walked out front.

Parties: parties and events are not allowed.

The guests have access to the 1st floor apartment which includes 3 full bedrooms, 1 full bathroom, a full size kitchen, a pantry, the living room and the dining room. The upstairs apartment is lived in by us and we will keep it nice and quiet.

Other things to note
-All guests need to be attentive to the house rules during their stay.

-We live in the upstairs unit but we have a separate side building entrance and you won’t even know we’re there.

-Neighbors have called and will call the police for any guests who do any illegal activities.

-Any guests caught smoking inside the unit will have their reservation canceled as well as be fined $200 for damages for cleaning and restoring the house.

-Also if guest leave the house excessively dirty after their stay, more than the normal cleaning required, we will charge up to $100 for extra cleaning to restore the house.

-We have STRICT rules against noise, music, and/or partying and have cancelled reservations due to complaints in the past. Quiet time is between 10pm-8am.

We have security cameras on the exterior of the property to monitor extra guests or parties. If you have extra guests you will be charged $50 per extra guest per night.

There is also a $50 early check in fee and a $100 late check out fee. These can be waived on a case by case basis.

We've found that most check-in issues are due to small errors, such as entering the code in the lockbox instead of the smart lock or not waiting long enough for the smart lock to reset. So double-check those instructions and you should be good to go!

Of course, if you do run into any problems during check-in, don't hesitate to reach out to us. We'll do our best to help you out. Just keep in mind that if you check-in after 10pm and run into issues, we may not be able to help you until the next morning. So, make sure to arrive on time to avoid any unnecessary stress.

SUPPLIES
We want to make sure you have everything you need to kick off your stay on the right foot. That's why we've prepared a pack of starter supplies for you to use during your first day - no need to rush to the store right away!

Just a friendly reminder though, if you need additional supplies like toilet paper, paper towels, or laundry detergent during your stay, you'll need to pick those up yourself. LONGER STAYS
For reservations that last more than 7 days, we'll need to check the property every week to ensure everything is in tip-top shape. This is just a routine inspection and we'll work with you to schedule a convenient time. We appreciate your understanding and cooperation in helping us maintain the property during your extended stay.

TV APPS
Our Roku TVs are a great way to access apps like Netflix, Hulu, Amazon, and more during your stay. Please note that we don't have subscriptions to these apps or cable TV, but you can easily access them with your own account credentials. Just remember to log out of your accounts before checking out so that your account information remains secure.

EARLY CHECK-INS/LATE CHECK-OUTS
We totally get it, sometimes you just want to start your vacation early or take a little extra time to relax before heading out. We're happy to help make that happen, as long as it doesn't interfere with our cleaning schedule or any other guests' plans.

Keep in mind that we won't be able to confirm your early check-in or late check-out until the day before your arrival or departure, and we do charge an hourly fee for this service, which must be paid in advance.

So, shoot us a message the day before and we'll see what we can do! Thanks for understanding.

NO PARTIES!/NO VISITORS
We just wanted to give you a quick heads up that our property is not a party or event house. We've even hired a security firm to help us keep the peace and ensure everyone's safety while they're here. Please keep in mind that this is a residential neighborhood, so we do have to be extra careful about noise and other disturbances.

If you do happen to violate our house rules and have an unauthorized party or gathering, we'll have to cancel your reservation and unfortunately, you won't be receiving any refunds.

Also, just a reminder that only registered guests are allowed on the property. Visitors aren't permitted, and while we rarely exercise this right, we do reserve the right to enter the property if necessary. We even have 24/7 overseas monitoring of security cameras to help us keep everything in check.

We hope you understand that our rules are in place to make sure everyone has a safe and enjoyable stay. If you have any questions, please feel free to reach out to us.

NO SMOKING
We kindly request that all guests refrain from smoking indoors, including tobacco, marijuana, vapes, or any other substance with an odor. We understand that smoking is a personal choice, but we want to maintain a clean and comfortable environment for all of our guests. Smoking is allowed outside of the home, but please dispose of cigarette butts properly.
We appreciate your cooperation in keeping our home smoke-free. Please note that there is a $375 fee for treating smoke smells inside the home. If you need assistance finding a smoking-friendly unit, please feel free to search for listings that permit smoking or reach out to us for recommendations.

NO PETS
We kindly ask that you refrain from bringing any pets as this is a pet-free environment. We understand that pets are part of the family, but due to the comfort of all our guests, we have a strict no-pet policy. DAMAGES

OUTDOOR AREA
We want to ensure our guests have a comfortable stay and enjoy our outdoor area. Please note that our outdoor furniture is available for use from May 1 to Oct 31. In late fall, we professionally tarp our furniture to protect it from winter weather. Please refrain from removing the tarps from the furniture as this incurs additional charges to have it re-tarped.
