Please, with the way flights have been cancelled or changed at the last moment, and other factors which come up beyond your control. we strongly suggest that you buy travelers insurance in order to secure your funds, in case of a last minute cancellation. We have been very gracious over the last 2 years and have given refunds when we were not required to, but we cannot do this any longer. We are holding to a firm cancellation policy in the future.
A well-crafted apartment in the quiet & solace of surrounding woods, yet within 8 to 10 minutes drive from grocery stores, or airport, and only 3 miles from the University of Alaska Fairbanks. This is a 2 bedroom, 1 bath luxury suite of rooms, private & perfect for 4 people if they are 2 couples or a family. It is the whole Separate ground floor of the house, 800 sq ft. This property is at the same location as one other smaller apartment suite, # 1523206, on the same 3 acres of property in the other house. In addition, this is a fantastic location to see the auroras, when they are active, as they arc right over the property, when it is clear out and the aurora activity is moderate. We will make sure your stay is very comfortable, and provide you with the information you need, in order to book activities or tour around town and the area.
- "When you are in Fairbanks this is the place to stay!!! Price was great, unit was very nice hosts were even nicer." - "Myself and two friends set about to travel to Fairbanks to see the northern lights. We reviewed many listings but the reviews about Carol and Les were outstanding - and were 100% on point. Warm, homemade cookies awaited us when we arrived. Staying in the apartment below their home was almost like staying in their home. There were all of the cooking utensils, spices, condiments, etc that you would have in your own home - probably more! There was aluminum foil, ziplocs, etc which almost is never found in a vrbo. Prior to our trip Carol was extremely helpful about planning our things to do. While we were there she gave us guidance and recommendations as well. Our trip could not have been more perfect and I believe it had a lot to do with Carol and Wes. I will be back in the summertime, and have already recommended this property to friends."

- "We didn't spend much time at the property, but it was nice to have the kitchen available and a more "homey" feel than a hotel. We did a number of day trips from Fairbanks and this location was a perfect central location to rest and refresh between each day. It was easily accessible with our rental car." - "Once again, excellent stay at this lovely one bedroom. Having air-conditioning during the summer while there is wild, fire smoke is priceless."

I want to emphazise that the the Northern Lights are predicted to peak in 2025. 2021 was an exceptional year and so far 2022 has had some incredible Auroras. Generally, the peak season begins August 20-April 15. Realize that the earlier and later in the season, the darkness is less, so you generally have less of a window to view the lights. It is warmer, but your viewing period is shorter. I was just above the arctic circle for a week (Sept 2-11) and had 2 phenomenal evenings of lights viewing 4 hours and 2 hours. If you want to have a good opportunity to view the lights, check out the UAF Geophysical Aurora Forecast which can help predict peak times to have success. That being said, I have had excellent viewing with a 2 kp level. This year there have been a number of days with a 6 kp level which is extraordinary.. If you are interested in viewing or photographing the lights, let me know what you are interested in and I will do my best to help. https://www.gi.alaska.edu/monitors/aurora-forecast

- "Nothing flashy and a bit small for our family of five, but this was a perfect place for our stay in Fairbanks! Excellent communication from the host and a very nice location within walking distance of quite a few things Fairbanks has to offer. The place was clean and well stocked with everything we needed." - "We previously lived in Fairbanks for 22 years, about a mile from this VRBO so were we very familiar with this area. We were there to move our mid-30 year daughter and granddaughter down to the Lower 48 to be closer to family. The unit was very clean and stocked with everything we needed, as well as some extras I wasn't expecting that came in handy. The location was great for us as well as for tourists. It's right next door to Pioneer Park, one of Fairbanks prime tourist locations. . We took our granddaughter to the park every day to take a break from the long hours and days of sorting and packing. The long-term tenants upstairs were warm and welcoming. Brian, our host was wonderful. We have stayed in many VRBOs over the years, both in the US and overseas, and I would highly recommend this VRBO to anyone looking to travel to Fairbanks, Alaska."

This cozy fully furnished apartment is located on the ground floor of our log home. Located on three acres just 15 minutes from downtown Fairbanks.
The kitchen is fully equipped with dishes, utensils, pots and pans, basic spices (and if you need a spice and I have it in my pantry, I will gladly share!), Keurig coffee pot with a starter supply of coffee pods and teas.
The bathroom has a good-sized shower and we keep a supply of body wash, shampoo and conditioner on hand. Leave your hair dryer at home -- there's one in the unit!
One bedroom has two twin beds and the second has a queen bed. All have comfortable bedding - all of which are washed after each reservation using ALL Free and Clear detergent and Lysol laundry sanitizer.
The washer/dryer unit is located in the mechanical room just off the kitchen and an initial supply of detergent and dryer sheets is kept on hand.
The property has lots of birch and aspen trees, a few spruce, lawns and flower beds, corrals and barn.
During the winter months and the northern lights are dancing in the sky above, you just have to step out the door to take in this amazing phenomenon. There are no street or city lights to prevent a good viewing.
If you're visiting us during the winter months, we highly suggest you rent an all-wheel drive vehicle with good tires that is winterized for our Fairbanks winters. The roads can be challenging!
PLEASE NOTE. We (owners) live upstairs. We have pets and we're a busy family. We are conscientious of noise levels and try to be as respectful as possible about this while living upstairs. If you are looking for silence and a more isolated location, I suggest looking for alternative accommodations.
Our goal is to give you an enjoyable place to stay while you discover the wonders of Fairbanks.
- "This house is so cute! The grounds are beautiful placed in the woods yet so close to town. Host has plenty of pamphlets for things to do in the area and a list of good restaurants in the area & a Kitchen stocked with everything you’ll need if you prefer to stay in. Quiet and peaceful during normal sleeping hours, the only noise we herd from above was the dog playing and a few footsteps, but definitely not enough of a deterrent to stay somewhere else."

- "We've traveled to Fairbanks twice this year and stayed at this property both times. It's so much nicer than a hotel room and has some special amenities like a hot tub, bicycles, pool table, darts, washer and dryer, etc. Don't let the location dissuade you...it's only a short drive to Fairbanks. I've used VRBO many times and the host of this property is the best I've encoutered! This house is thoughtfully equipped with everything you'll need for a comfortable stay. I highly recommend it!"

Close to dogsledding, snowmobiling, museums, Large Animal Research Station. Wendy even texted me so we would know when Northern lights were visible! Great place to stay, highly recommend." - "One of the best VRBO. We were super pleased with everything. Wish we could have stayed longer. Location was great for our outing and easy to get into town. Everything from parking, the space itself, the comfortable bed, and all the amenities in the studio made it a perfect place. Wendy was fabulous, above and beyond. Felt like visiting family but still on our own vacation. The small details and her special touches made it wonderful, making memories for other fabulous. Alaska is beautiful and also their home. Wishing the Brant’s much success in sharing their home with others."
