Cheerful apartment in newly renovated building above Professional Acting Studio at edge of Kenosha's Downtown Arts District. Near Harbor, beach, 4 museums, art galleries, live entertainment, eclectic restaurants, diners, coffee shops, Trolly, bike paths, parks, lakeshore, antique stores and specialty shops, Prime Outlets, Bristol Renaissance Faire, Great America. Metra Line to Chicago, close to Milwaukee.

My place is good for couples, solo adventurers, business travelers, friends and families.

The space
I love my building! It's bright and cheerful with most of it newly renovated. This storefront building has two apartments upstairs and a 50-seat Actor's Craft Seventh Avenue Theater and Acting Studio below, which is handy if you want to improve your acting or public speaking skills while in Kenosha. It is a great location across from a church with two restaurants on the same block with outdoor dining, one with a view of Lake Michigan. It is walking distances from lots of cool stuff in Downtown Kenosha.

Guest access
You will have the two-bedroom apartment to yourself. The deck has two chairs on which to enjoy the fresh air and watch passers by. If you are here on business, there is a large desk area at which you can meet with clients and get lots of work done.

Other things to note
This apartment is on the second floor. There are 16 steps. For most people, this is not an issue. But be aware if you have elderly guests coming with you, that 16 steps can be hard for them.

I have two chairs on the deck. If you have small children, they should not be left unattended with the door to the deck open. They could climb on the chairs and might get over the 46 inch high railing. If you have little ones, open the windows down from the top (not up from the bottom) so they won't push through the screen and fall from the second story windows. These are common sense and plenty people with small children who live on the second floor have to take these precautions.

We are located at the edge of downtown and close to the harbor and lakefront. Some guests have reported hearing motorcycles, music and people talking. Some have said their stay was quiet. We are walking distance from many eateries, night spots, galleries, entertainments and beautiful views and bike paths. There is an ebb and flow with sound levels depending on who is coming downtown. If you are a light sleeper, you may want to balance the convenience of this location with potential noise.

This stylish place to stay is perfect for longer stays or peaceful getaways! Just 5 minutes drive to Lake Michigan and 3 blocks from a large park with disc golf, garden and walking paths.

Centrally located just 2 blocks from the iconic Spot Drive-In, 1.7 miles from Lake Michigan, 7 minutes away from our quaint downtown area including museums and Harbor Market. Froedtert South Hospital is 4.8 miles (12 min. drive.) About 17 minutes from fabulous shopping at the Premium Outlets.

The space
The Celeste Flat is the lower unit in a charming 1920's duplex. It is fully furnished with a smart tv, well stocked spacious kitchen and plenty of closet space. It has a calm blue and white country cottage decor throughout that is sure to make you feel at home!

The sunny living room is furnished with armchairs and love seat so you can relax or watch tv. The 42" streaming ready smart tv is ready for you to access your favorite streaming app. The dining area has a beautiful antique round table that can accommodate four people and a charming hutch with retro china! (Feel free to use the dishes if you like!)

The spacious kitchen has full sized appliances, a plethora of cupboards and comes fully stocked with dinnerware, silverware, baking dishes, mixing bowls and measuring cups, electric kettle, coffee pot, pots and pans, toaster and a microwave. Please note there is No Dishwasher.

The front bedroom features a queen size antique style metal bed with a fluffy floral comforter and cotton blanket, hardwood floors and a small dresser. There is a walk in closet for additional storage as well.

The back bedroom is a calm oasis of greens with a full sized metal bed with a cotton blanket and fluffy comforter. There are hardwood floors in this bedroom as well. It also has a roomy closet with hanging space and cubby storage.

The full bathroom has a shower/tub combo and includes a retro toothbrush and tissue holder! Fully stocked with towels, soap and hairdryer. There is also storage space in the large sink vanity.

There is laundry facilities in the basement with separate washers and dryers for each unit. (Please note: the basement is a shared space.)

We love that the duplex is old and has character! This means the floors and some of the doors are original and quirky. Some doors are hard to open or shut and the floors have plenty of squeaks! But we think this just adds to her charm!

**NOTE: This house has five steps up to the front door and five steps to the back door. To access the laundry in the basement there is another flight of stairs.

You will have the entire main level and front entrance to yourself. You also have access to the basement, back entrance and backyard, but these are shared spaces. Please be mindful of other guests.

You may park in the driveway, but this is also a shared space. Please do not block or park in the middle of it. Please park all the way up the driveway by the garage to the right.
There is also street parking in the front of the house. *Please note: during the winter months alternate side parking is enforced.

We have dealt with allergies our whole lives, so we get it! We have tried to make as allergy friendly as possible, slip covered furniture (that is frequently washed) and no air fresheners ever used. Our laundry soap is fragrance free and hypo-allergenic. If you have any questions or concerns, feel free to reach out!


Longer Stays

Please be aware that if you stay longer than 2 weeks our cleaner will come in and clean during your stay. This is a requirement. We will schedule a suitable time several days before.

We do accept 30 day or more stays. Since they are considered long term rentals in our state, a signed lease is required. Please send a request and we will be more than happy to help!


House Rules

Check-in is at 3 pm. Checkout is at 11 am.
We cannot confirm late check-out requests until the day of as our calander is always changing and we need to allow enough time for cleaning.

Guests who stay beyond the checkout time or delay our cleaners are liable for any associated costs and expenses.

Overnight guests that exceed the number stated in the reservation are not allowed.

Smoking, illegal drugs, parties, and excessive noise are not allowed, including on porches and outdoor spaces. Smoking violations are subject to a $500 fine plus the cost to clean, deodorize, and repair damages.

The use of marijuana or drugs in any way, shape, or form in or around our property is strictly prohibited.

Candles or other open flames are not allowed.

Booking a reservation constitutes an agreement to comply with the House Rules. Guests who violate these rules are liable for any associated damages, fees, costs, or expenses.

Gym Sounds: Note that The Loft is right next to a 24/7 health club. From time-to-time you will feel vibrations/sounds from weight dropping. These should not be for too long, but we can’t guarantee the usage and intensity of the gym’s goers workouts. It is the convenient to have a gym right next door.

Parking will be on the lot west of the building. It is the third parking spot with a sign that says, "The Loft".

Note: as modern as the loft is, we choose not to install a dishwashing machine. It place is designed for two people and not a family. Instead, we used the space to give you other amazing features.
