I was unable to check in to the property for my stay because the previous tenant trashed the place. Apparently there was a party and the owner was given a 3 day notice because the property was so filthy and the manager did an inspection and found ashes, cigarette and drug use and gun and weapon paraphernalia. I feel like I really DODGED THE BULLET on this stay. The owner did give me a refund which was nice but there was no other suitable place in town to stay for my days. I ended up driving 2.5 hours each day to visit my dad who was put on hospice. Not exactly how I had planned it."

The California Room is located a few minutes from Merced Collage, California State University Merced, across the Merced Mall and near downtown Merced. Many local restaurants and grocery stores. Merced is also the gateway to Yosemite National Park, approximily 60 miles from Yosemite.

We're centrally located in Merced's historic "Old Town" just a short walk from Downtown. Great restaurants, wine bars, movies, a playhouse and live entertainment venues are all there for your dining and relaxation pleasure.

The space
French doors lead from the private patio into the cottage. It's furnished with a queen bed, dining table and chairs, a refrigerator, coffee set up, microwave, and toaster oven. The en suite bathroom with shower, has fresh towels, body wash, shampoo, hair dryer and other amenities for your convenience.

Free WiFi. A large streaming TV offers free Netflix, Prime, PBS and YouTube for your viewing pleasure.

Garden Gate is a lovely, relaxing setting perfect for two adults. Your comfort and enjoyment during your stay is our goal.

Off-street parking is available in the driveway for convenience and safety. Please park in the driveway and enter the courtyard through the large 6-foot wooden gate at the end of the driveway.

The cottage is located at the back of the courtyard with entry through the French doors.

A lockbox key entry is located at the cottage doors for easy access.
