Hello, we love to Host for Homeaway.
We are nestled just a few miles from Bass Lake and about 25 miles from the South Gate Hwy 41 Entrance. The Valley is 35 miles from the Southgate (approx. 1.5 hours in good conditions). I suggest getting an early start because travel times greatly increase during holidays and summer months. PLEASE CHECK YOSEMITE ABOVE FOR RESERVATIONS FOR SUMMER MONTHS.
Here, you will find a quaint private studio apartment that accommodates up to four people (two per bed). Currently there is one queen bed and one sofa bed (queen). Please note the price reflects for the first two people. There are additional charges for each person after. The apartment has a full mini kitchen furnished with dinnerware, coffee maker, microwave and necessities to enjoy an indoor meal.
Outdoors you will find the property peaceful and inviting with gorgeous views of Goat Mountain. The back yard is spacious and opens up to a path that leads to our seasonal Fine Gold Creek. (Please note: we are currently under some landscaping construction)
If, after visiting Yosemite or Bass Lake you still need something to do, you can check out North Fork and Bass Lake’s local attractions. Just down the road from Fine Gold Retreat is beautiful Manzanita Lake. It is a perfect little lake with the most peaceful setting for fishing, swimming or just hanging out to feed the ducks. It even has built-in grills so you can BBQ a few hamburgers. Manzanita Lake is one of my favorite places. Trust me; you will not regret taking the time to visit this special place.
North Fork is also home to the Mono Indian Museum and an art gallery that hosts local mountain artists. North Fork has the best pizza and Mexican food restaurant you could ask for.
Fourth of July weekend is a busy time for North Fork and Bass Lake. The weekend of July 4th, North Fork hosts our annual Loggers Jamboree where professionals and amateurs alike can show off their logging and timber skills. The jamboree is preceded by our local (OK, maybe a little corny) 4th of July parade.
Finally, we mustn’t forget about one of the best Independence Day fireworks displays at Bass Lake. People from all over the world come to celebrate the freedom of our wonderful country.

- "The place is cute cozy just a couple things I would recommend as it was in the 100’s a sun umbrella on the deck for shade would’ve been nice and the key digital pads should be changed we had a hard time opening to keep the number pad from showing up was terrible we thought it was just at arrival we ended up just leaving unlocked during our stay. We met the tentants downstairs they had same issues. The main house had a friendly small dog who would visit us which we love pets but both mornings before we got up he peed and pooped in the outdoor furniture marking his territory not sure the owners are aware i thought the firsr morning it was a wild animal til we met Rosco. I still rated the place a 5 star because its a very nice clean cute cozy quiet place for a couple to stay."

Charcoal for the grill is not provided. While we try to keep salt, pepper and oil stocked for your convenience, it is not guaranteed.

Please note: some roads from the East, such as Tioga Pass and Glacier Point are seasonal and are closed October through June.

The space
This is information you may find valuable as you consider staying on my property. The Airbnb rooms are each near my house which is 1/2 mile from the paved road. It's important to drive slow slowly on the gravel portions. If it rains heavily or snows, be sure to check in to make sure the roads are passable.

A perfect quaint little getaway if you're looking to get out of the city, yet close enough to the action of Bass Lake only 10 minutes away & a spectacular scenic drive to Yosemite National Park.

Our rooms are located in the center of a 50 acre forest preserve. It has been rehabilitated with forestry management principles and appears, more or less, as it did before the white man came. To the north of the property is the Sierra national forest. Looking north, you will see no other structures. Ditto, more or less, looking south. Urban dwellers always notice the quiet and the seasonal wildflowers. If you sit quietly outside for a half hour, you will hear the songs to 10 to 15 different birds and the flowing creek.

Sierra national Forest and Blossom Cabin are home to many creatures. The ones closest to the house, and sometimes in the house include field mice, blue belly and alligator lizards, along with the occasional tree frog.
There are 5 to 7 different snakes that live in this forest, including rattlesnakes. Snakes do not like people and hide when they hear you approaching. As long as you stay on the road you won't have a problem. At night, you may see bats, owls, and very rarely bobcats mountain lions and bears. In my 50 years, I have seen bobcat twice, bears four times, but have never been fortunate enough to see a mountain lion. We have coyotes, falcons, vultures, eagles, hawks. ravens, ground squirrels, chipmunks, grey squirrels, deer, and once I thought I saw a porcupine.
You are welcome to walk down to the creek, at your own risk, where the granite is slippery and can cause falling so please use caution. If you are lucky, you may see other reptiles.

You will be most comfortable staying here if you are OK with the creatures that abound.

There is a private outdoor shower and bathtub with both hot and cold water. If you haven't had the experience of letting the wind dry you off, you should try it.

We offer a 2nd suite if you want to bring another couple or single person. Please inquire within. Additional fees will be applied.

We have plenty of space for RV parking no additional fees. Please inquire within prior to bringing your RV.

We offer a car charging station (250amp, 220 V plugs) You will need to bring your own 20ft cord & appropriate converters. View outlet in the pictures.

Visit the town of Northfork "THE EXACT CENTER OF CALIFORNIA." There's some excellent BBQ, farmers market, coffee shop and that hometown feel of our friendly locals.

The suite has a separate entrance from the main house along with a private patio. You have access to 50 acres of Sierra National Forest.

Once you arrive please park at the bottom of the trail and follow the hanging lights up to the main house, then take the stairs on the left to the deck below, this is your room.

Other things to note
Once you arrive at the gate follow the gravel road back until you see the main house on the Left. It has a Silver color metal roof. The garage is on the Right.

You will want to park your vehicle down towards the path on the left rather than attempting to go up the driveway. This is a private drive and should be avoided. At night the path to the main house is lit with hanging lights. Follow this to the stairs then down to your room.

I STRONGLY RECOMMEND YOU ARRIVE DURING DAYLIGHT TO AVOID CONFUSION.

Checkin and checkout times are STRICTLY enforced to allow proper COVID cleaning compliance. Please no early arrivals.

Guests need to be aware that this entire area is vulnerable to wild fires.

WARNING - during snowstorms our parking is not maintained on a schedule. Snow shoveling may be necessary to access the cabin. Shovel provided. You must have an SUV with clearance, all wheel drive, or a 4x4 with snowchains.

Welcome to Finegold Retreat! *Visit our other listings Finegold Nugget and Finegold Escape located at the same property. Find your serenity in this peaceful and centrally-located place. We are tucked away on a private road surrounded by close and distant mountains. We are minutes away from Bass Lake, Manzanita Lake and Bandit Town. Yosemite National Park South Gate is 25 miles away and Sequoia/Kings Canyon National Parks are approximately 100 miles.

The space
Nestled just a few miles from Bass Lake you will find a quaint private apartment that accommodates up to four people. Please be advised we have a Blue Heeler. His name is Blue:-) The neighbor dogs roam and may show up for a visit. They are large but friendly.
The apartment comfortably sleeps up to four people (two per bed). Currently there is one queen bed and one sofa bed (queen.) The apartment has a full mini kitchen furnished with dinnerware, coffee maker, microwave and necessities to enjoy an indoor meal.
Outdoors you will find the property peaceful and inviting with gorgeous views of Goat Mountain. The back yard is spacious and opens up to a path that leads to our seasonal Fine Gold Creek. Feel free to enjoy the backyard swings and a couple of more tucked away around the property.
If, after visiting Yosemite or Bass Lake you still need something to do, you can check out North Fork and Bass Lake’s local attractions. Just down the road from Fine Gold Retreat is beautiful Manzanita Lake. It is a perfect little lake with the most peaceful setting for fishing, swimming or just hanging out to feed the ducks. It even has built-in grills so you can BBQ a few hamburgers. Manzanita Lake is one of my favorite places. Trust me; you will not regret taking the time to visit this special place. There are numerous hiking trails you may ask us about.
North Fork is also home to the Mono Indian Museum and an art gallery that hosts local mountain artists. North Fork has the best pizza and Mexican food restaurant you could ask for. It also has a family owned market. The Knarly Carrot is our local organic store hosting beautiful produce from our local farmers. Millers Landing at Bass Lake has an amazing menu of breakfast, burgers and fish tacos and much more... not to mention a beautiful view of Bass Lake. They also rent boating and water toys. Call early to book them. Oakhurst is 15 minutes away and has a variety of restaurants and two supermarkets to stick up on before you had to Yosemite.

You can full access to the property including the backyard. Enjoy a walk down to the seasonal creek and backend of the property.

Dogs live on the property. Also we live in a high fire danger area. Please be extremely cautious and abide by all fire restrictions as they change according to the particular fire seasons.

Be advised we are in construction mode around the property. The back yard is undergoing a huge landscaping project. This will not affect you In anyway. It just isn’t as pretty😊
